Never got a response from corporate, so I am posting my experience here
To whom it may concern,
I visited your Ames, Iowa location on 9/19/2020 at 1:30pm. My fiancée, who is transgender female to male, was with me. We showed our ID's to the lady working. Since my fiancée is going through his transformation, his ID has not been updated since before he transitioned, so his picture doesn't look like he does now as he has a full beard. My fiancée is 25 years old which makes him old enough to shop at Romantix and purchase tobacco items and products. She loudly asked if the picture was really him, and he said yes. She carried on the same question multiple times, loudly while there were many other people in the store, outing him to everyone there. Even after we walked away, she continued to talk at us loudly about him being trans and disrespected us to the extreme. I am appalled and disgusted by her behavior. I know her actions do not represent Romantix as I have been shopping at your stores for a few years and have always had a pleasant experience until now. It is 2020 and transgender people exist. People should feel comfortable shopping at your stores and what she did was discriminatory, disrespectful, and down right hateful. I feel you need to address her and this manner as soon as possible so that others do not have to deal with her hate and discrimination read more
