Either people don't know what pizza is in North Texas or they lost their tastebuds... Something is very wrong. You take your mass pizza chains like Pizza Slut, Pizza Inn, Papa's, Sleezy's Pizza and Gattitown and you've got your typical cardboard and ketchup excuse for a pizza. They are mass produced and lack a soul. So, you would think that a small, independant pizza place like this would strive to be more. I though wrong. I was only here once. ONCE. And never will I grace their doors again. This is not pizza like the prior three reviews have stated. This is on par with the above mentioned mass chains, and that's not where a pizza place wants to be. We as a family have never left a pizza behind, kind of like the Marines. We left two uneaten slices.... it was that bad. Tasteless, flavorless and no heart. I am a pizza lover and a pizza snob from New Jersey. I know a thing or two about good pizza.............. this is a sad excuse and I am surprised the place gets business. Then again, most in North Texas, have never had good pizza. Free delivery if you're in range, they've got very affordable pizza from slices to large pies (with lots of topping options) and delicious cheesy bread. Owner/staff are super sweet and helpful, and we are always taken care of. Open late on weekends and they never rush you out near close either. The pizza was good, tasted different then the chains, but not as spectacular as others have claimed. It did seem light on toppings and thin crust was average but was generally OK... the owner is really friendly and pick up prices are pretty low. Roman himself could serve me my first born on his 2 large, 2 topping pizza carry out deal for 14.99 and I'd thank his sweet Italian ass for such a good value and for complimenting the value of my first born, because $14.99 is worth way more than anything that's coming out of these gonads. I've ordered pizza from these guys 3 times now and every pie I've received from them has been handled with more precision and care than a DNA test, which is something I've needed a lot ever since I was dropped at the ripe age of 2. I typically get a large Pepperoni and Bacon pizza on Alfredo, and it's closest I've come to God since the time I passed out in a Wendy's restroom during a drug overdose. They're not stingy with the toppings either, they really do load that puppy up with plenty of cheese and everything else you could want. You know they're not penny pinchers either because they're not one of the cheap fucks who count cheese as a topping because they SHOULDN'T. Roman's pizza does it right. I haven't touched everything on the menu yet but I sure do plan to after I learn how to healthily incorporate a shit ton of pizza into my diet. Bonus points for having free delivery for certain areas nearby their business. That shit saved my life the other day after I immobilized myself after I dislocated my knee dancing to an *NSYNC song. Anyways, excellent pizza, cute and convenient location, wonderful staff, and if I haven't mentioned it enough, their pizza is so good that just talking about it reminded me of the leftover pizza I bought from them yesterday chilling in my fridge. This is not a typical greasy pizza. I would say it's the opposite of a pan pizza from Pizza Hut. If I had to describe the crust, I would say it has more of a thin crust pizza feel, but with a thicker and more dense dough. Not thin and crunchy, if that makes sense. The sauce is delicious and the toppings were fresh and the jalapeños were nice and spicy. I really liked it. I didn't feel the need to take a napkin to the top to drain some of the grease. The owner is a sweetheart. Nothing like giving business to someone who genuinely appreciates your hard earned dollars. read more

We moved to Denton about 5 months ago and we were in search of a no fail pizza joint for our monthly cravings, this place is on our list! The owner is beyond awesome and grateful for his customers, he makes you feel great for coming into his store, and is appreciative of you choosing his pizzeria. I have never had any other pizza place do this, the majority of pizza stores hand you the pizza and let it be. Why can't all businesses be this awesome when you buy things? The pizza isn't bland-nor over the top. But overall, it isn't caked in grease, nor is it packed with who knows what like chain-pizza stores. if I want a pizza and don't want to spend 25 at the other place I like....I go here! My family loves this place. They are well priced and consistant. If you like their pizza the first time, you're going to like it every other time. There quick. They will tell you 40 minutes to an hour and sometimes deliver within 20 minutes. They're nice. We see the same delivery people over and over and we're happy to see familiar faces. I've lived in Denton all my life and I have to say that Roman's has always been our go-to pizzaria. About a year ago, we got enticed by the "deals" that the larger chains were having and tried them all out. Have to say, I LOVE "pan" crust pizza and breadsticks dipped in garlic sauce! Last week we were short on cash and I thought "Why not call Roman's again???" It was definitely the best idea I've had this month - SOOOO glad that I went back! The owner is 100% grateful for our business as said in other reviews, as well as an all around nice guy. I love supporting local businesses as much as the next guy but I have to leave an honest review this place has 4 1/2 stars! I don't see how that's possible even tho the employees friendly and great at what they do . I travel for a living and have had pizza on 30 something states here in the US and sad to say this is absolutely the top 5 of worst I've ever had and like I've said in other reviews I've had pizza in Chicago and New York and I know good pizza and this was not . The wings also where very soggy and tiny about two inches long . I do take in consideration that this pizza is at the level of fast take out pizza but it's worse than Pizza Hut which is pretty bad . I would be best compared to Red Baron frozen pizza no kidding . I really hate to leave such a negative review but I have to be honest . Sorry . read more

The owner is very nice, but it does not make up for the fact that it took over 30 minutes to get our pizza because they put delivery orders over the patrons dining in or that the pizza was terrible. It had zero flavor. The soft drinks came from his vending machine in the laundromat next door. We were just stopping through town and decided to try based on other reviews. Those people must not have taste buds. The sign on the door said it was Denton's oldest independent pizza joint. I have no idea how it's been in business for however long it has.
