I guess I was suppose to see the pinky nail size wording that said "no pork products" on front of the menu. I ordered and chicken, bacon, ranch and the bacon was gross! I lost my appetite. I called Romanos and the lady that answered the phone and even agreed that bacon is gross and would never eat it. Well that's reassuring. I asked her what kind of bacon it is and she said it's beef.... What? So why even say bacon?! Also has me wondering about the pepperoni, and ham! I was declined a refund because the menu states "no pork products all over the menu " - which, by the way, took me forever to find so I asked. We moved to Aldenville/Chicopee about 6 months ago. Overwhelmed by the amount of pizza shops and delivery places around, I started reading some reviews online. I happen to notice a patron mentioned in a review that Romano's has amazing salads. As a couple who lives a primarily low-carb lifestyle and appreciates a good salad, this sounded intriguing. We opted to order two Cobb salads. We ordered them how they come (one with no tomatoes) both with extra meat (for $1 more each) and xtra salad dressing (Caesar and ranch. I LOVE their Caesar dressing!!!) We were NOT disappointed in the slightest!!! Romano's does serve amazing salads!!! I could not be happier with the value of this pizza shop salad delivered to my house. For about $11 each, we get two meals out of one of these orders. This is the only place in town (other than from Wings over) we have ordered from since. We did get their pizza once when we first moved in for a party we had and I remember liking it. It usually takes 30-45 minutes to get the delivery but out of the 10+ times we have ordered, we have been very happy. They always been good with the "no tomato" request on my boyfriend's salad and we have received everything we ordered. The delivery guys are always friendly and the one time they were backed up with orders, they called to apologize and give us a ETA on when to expect our food. (It was prime time early evening on a Friday or Saturday night so as a former service industry professional I was sympathetic to this dilemma) It happens. I've wanted to write Romano's a review since the first salads we ordered but had not had the chance till now. After writing this, I plan to order a couple of these epic salads for dinner tonight! read more

Only stopped in since it was walking distance from where I was staying. First appearance walking up, windows were super dirty and unfriendly staff. Then when getting change I had to wait on a woman to find cash out of her purse. Then I asked for bbq sauce with my chicken & it was an. extra $1.50. Ordered delivery - major language barrier, which I think should not be as much an issue when ordering over the phone. The ordering process was rather painful. Time - took longer than stated; I had to call to find out where it was. Driver - Could not come to my door in a major apartment complex. When I tried to tell him where it was, again the language barrier. I gave up and went out to his car to get my order. He was also pushy; wanted to put more menu's in the foyer but I showed him there was already a stack. The food: My grinder was cold, never even toasted as requested. It had mayonaisse which was requested to be left off. I couldn't eat it. The cheesecake was not bad, traditional pizza joint cake. The fried mushrooms looked stranger than I've ever seen, but they were edible, had flavor, and actually seemed to have mushroom in them. I will not order here again though. read more

I know this is a pizza joint, but I must say they have the best salads I've ever had. Their Romanos special salad is absolutely fantastic. Their website is super convenient for delivery as well. It's too bad this place has a 2.5 star rating because of this other guys girlfriend getting texted by a delivery driver... Sounds like something you should take up with the driver. read more

Food is nothing out of the ordinary. It isn't all that bad, for a pizza place. The language barrier makes it difficult. They understand and speak english when you are ordering but when you have a complaint, they suddenly don't understand what you are saying. Its annoying. Don't order dessert, it's rarely ever completely thawed out when served/delivered. read more

Wish they had zero stars. Only reason I stopped was I was rushed for time and didn't know the area. The windows were dirty and the inside was dirty, all while one of two guys working was sitting in a booth on his cellphone watching soccer. Ordered two Italian subs with lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions. I gave them to my daughters to eat in between volleyball games at a tournament. After the tournament I asked how the grinders were and they said horrible. They only put meat, cheese and oil & vinegar - NOTHING ELSE! Maybe when the place is empty they should clean and do a better job on the order they get!! read more

Excellent. I have been a loyal customer of Romano's since I moved to Chicopee and rarely go anywhere else for take out when in town. Which is why, while reading some of these negative reviews, prompted me to share that I have had nothing other than continuously consistent and positive experiences at the restaurant. We are all too quick to write negative reviews and leave the positive ones behind which can be quite damaging when sometimes it really isn't warranted. As far as my experience, besides the great food, every one I've encountered who works there has been more than pleasant and helpful from the owners to the delivery drivers to the friendly girls who answer the phones and take orders. The amount of food you get for the price is amazing all while being delicious and always delivered hot. The menu has a wide range of food, even breakfast so whatever you're in the mood for, they've got you covered. Thank you to everyone at Romano's, keep doing what you're doing because as far as I'm concerned you are doing a great job. Give this place a try for yourself and don't be discouraged by the 2.5 stars... read more

We have so far very much enjoyed Romano's in Chicopee Massachusetts- The pizza is good standard fare ; flavorful with a good crust- The salads are generous and the sandwiches well made- The owner and staff are lovely folks providing good genuinely friendly service- The location is convenient and we've never had to wait for an order- I am glad there is a pizza joint in this part of Chicopee especially one that is offering a good product and serving it up with the right attitude- read more

Ordered 2 dinner meals from here last week. The food was awful. The "chicken wings" I ordered were the patties from a chicken parmesan cut into strips and drenched in a really sour tasting BBQ sauce. The claim strip meal consisted of 4 cold soggy clam strips and a huge portion of french fries. I called them up about the food and was told there was no manager on duty so they couldn't help us. They suggested I call back the next day. I called the next day and was told that it wasn't a problem to throw the food out and they would send a driver out to refund the order. A driver arrived and asked to see the food. We explained we had tossed it and wanted to talk to the manager again. The driver said he was going to go to his car and call the manager. He got in the car and without calling anyone left. We called the manager and was told "What do you want me to do about it if he already left?". We never ended up getting a refund and threw the entire meals out. I have never complained about food to a restaurant before in my life or written a review on a restaurant. This place was just that bad that I felt the need to call and write this up. Don't go there for the food or the service because you wont find it. read more

Worst customer service ever! Mess up my order every time and when I call they scream at me and say I'm lying! No offer to fix anything, even tho this was the fourth time of messing up my order. And I finally get fed up and call hoping they will do something and nothing but getting yelled at by some rude woman. Then she puts me on the phone with the manager and he says "I'm sorry, shes new, our usual girl is pregnant"... This was my boyfriends favorite place so i tried to give them another chance and of course they mess up our order! I call and say it's wrong and get "what do you want to do?" Hmm well my presumption is that a business should try to fix their mistake but sure let me spell that out for you.. So I say we need a new one, we won't eat this. And she says "Ok, he'll send a new one, just give us the old one." Am I the only one that finds that ridiculous!? Never ever again!! read more

Romanos pizza is the best pizza I've had outside of NYC. Me and my girlfriend just moved to chicopee and tried Romanos out and thank god we did because it's delicious. I was really impressed by this place for awhile. I live in springfield (right near the chicopee border) and there are not many good pizza places around. I have ordered from here probably over a dozen times and the food and service have been gradually going down. But after my last experience I will never order from this place again. I called in a delivery order at around 9pm ( as I had done proabably about 10 times before...never had a problem until now). The guy took my order (same guy who always does; barely speaks english) and then verifed my address, but then said: "you live very far away"....I wasn't sure how to respond to this. So I replied that they had delivered to my address many times before, but he repeated himself in an even more rude tone "you live very far away". So I stated that if they could not deliver to my address I would have to order from somewhere else, at which point he hung up on me. There was definitely a nicer and more professional way to handle this. So much for customer service. read more
