I had new wood flooring installed in 2 rooms. The flooring had to match the existing surrounding 3 rooms. Very simply, all of my expectations were either met or exceeded. The crew came in on day one as expected. We had a discussion about the installation, and by the end of the first day, I had new wood flooring where there was previously carpet, and it was done in one day instead of the scheduled two days. It's been several months now, and I feel better today than I did on day one. read more

This is the second time I have used Romanoff via Home Depot. This second experience for carpet was nothing like the first experience with bamboo flooring, which was good. This second time along with my carpet install, I had contracted the company to disassemble a bed, and paid in advance. I called a few days before my install to confirm, all was agreed. On the day they arrived, the installers said they don't do this kind of bed. I told them that pictures had been taken and approved and that I had paid. They refused. So, they did all the rooms except the master where the bed was. The manager was so cavalier with me, did not take responsibility, just very matter of fact, nope they weren't doing it. I had to pay someone else to do this work and then have them reschedule to finish the job. Romanoff said they would not give a refund, I would have to contact Home Depot. The installers seemed so angry on the second visit. They were extremely rough and damaged a number of door frames, paint on walls and even took a big chunk out of the popcorn ceiling by being careless. I can also see seams where I did not see seams in my old carpet. The installers told me, it can't be perfect, I should expect to see seams. I was extremely disheartened by the lack of human kindness. This is my home! If you can find someone else to do your job, I recommend you do so. read more

This is the Home Depot 'preferred vendor.' The installer was nice enough but refused to continue the job (once he had removed all of my existing flooring) leaving me with a mess- because he claimed the floor was uneven and needed to level the entire floor. I have installed this particular product several times, and had several installers tell me it flexes- and I've seen it. The installer was manipulating the level to make it look worse than it was- and I showed him how to properly use it and that his 'big variance' was actually not- and less than a 1/4 inch. I called and spoke to Amanda, who was very nice, and she took my information and said she would call back. Then the manager, 'Jeremy' called and told me that they would not be able to continue the installation. He was very rude. read more

I purchased my carpet from Home Depot which included installation, removal & haul away. They subcontracted with this company, who refused to haul away the old carpet because of "pet damage". Never was I told that could be an issue and if I had been told I would have made arrangements. Also, an installer left my bathroom sink running. The house is vacant so thank goodness I stopped by the next day before that caused a big problem! The woman I spoke to at Romanoff was condescending & basically said too bad. It's clear to me that they don't care about customer service & are just banking on being a subcontractor for Home Depot. As other reviewers have advised, before you buy flooring from Home Depot be sure they are not using Romanoff Renovations for installation. If they are, purchase your carpet elsewhere. read more

Romanoff (contracted through Home Depot) installed carpet last week and they did a fantastic job. I had to push the schedule so I could get painting done before the carpet was installed. Really easy to work with the scheduling team. This was a substantial installation. They took care of several sqeaks in the floor, added missing tack strips that were never installed when the house was built, cleaned up everything and confirmed I was happy with the installation before they left. I also had vinyl plank flooring installed in a large closet - it turned out beautifully. read more

I purchased new vinyl for both my kitchen and bath. Romanoff Renovations was the installer used by Home Depot. The installers showed up with the wrong trim (Home Depot gave them the wrong trim and the installers didn't check the job requirements). They also had no equipment to protect the floors when moving appliances; if we had not had moving boxes to use, they would have damaged our wood floors. The installation was simply ok - you can see some gaps around the edges, and it looks less than ideal in several places. As part of the work, Romanoff was supposed to install new baseboard molding in the kitchen and bath. The installers did not have the correct tools, wanted to borrow my saw to use, and ultimately left without doing the baseboard installation. Over the next week, I made 4 calls to Romanoff to try to get them to schedule someone to finish the job - none of my calls were answered. It wasn't until I went back to Home Depot and complained to the assistant manager that we had any movement. They called me the next day and sent out a very good carpenter to finish the baseboard install. So, overall - installation 2 to 3 stars. Customer service 1 star. Overall rating 2 stars. I recommend avoiding them as an installer. read more

The day before our scheduled carpet install Romanoff Renovations called to cancel our appointment and reschedule. First they said they had an employee out, then I talked to a manager who said they did not order enough carpet. I am a self employed individual who does not get paid leave. I took off a day for Home Depot to measure, now a day for the install and they are not even going to show. This costs me well over $1K in missed earnings and presumably more if I continued with their plan to rebook indefinitely. This has been scheduled for several weeks and the best they can do is give me another date which at this point seems questionable as to wether it is an additional waste of time. I am cancelling the order and finding a reliable carpet company. read more

I purchased carpet with home depot and they outsource the installation job to this piece of crap business. 1. There was no appointment confirmation the day before installation. I had to call in to confirm but they couldn't provide the time when the installation worker will arrive. 2. Two people came to my house and it was a rainy day. They DIDN'T take off their shoes when stepping back and forth on the new carpet, and in and out of the house. One of them didn't speak English and the other can speak a lot so our communication was minimal. 3. They broke my night light during the installation but never apologize or told me about it The company had the audacity to text me afterwards that if I'm not 100% satisfied with the job let them know. I texted them back but never hear from them I would not even bother to buy any flooring products from home depot, with the hindsight that this crappy business is their only flooring contractor. We should all boycott home depot until they change their contractor!!!! read more

Rather than go on with tons of details, I'll just say unprofessional, incompetent, and wasted months of my time (with no regard for my time) with constant problems and never got anything done. The manager even had the audacity to suggest that I am having bad luck with this job, as they continue to say they are 'usually' wonderful. Oh really? I wish I could give -5 stars if I could. I actually called Home Depot right after I found out that Romanoff would be the one to get my carpet done. However, this is their only contractor with flooring so I have to suck it up regardless :( I ditto everything other people said about this business... lack of communication, professionalism, and follow-up. They left a large roll of carpet outside of my house after they finished the installation. They didn't let me know about the carpet, and it was a rainy day, the carpet was soaked with water when I found it outside of my house. Those are the extra carpet that I purchased and I would have saved them for my future home improvement project and with Seattle's cold and wet weather in November, there's no way for me to dry it out but to dump it. It was a huge hassle to throw away such a gigantic wet roll of carpet! read more

Warning - If you purchase from Home Depot these people are the ones who are supposed to install your carpet. 1. They cancel installations the night before and it is a known problem. I mentioned the cancellation to the 'second' installation team and they confirmed that they keep an employee who doesn't have any work ethics. 2. The second team might be nice buy they try to find any reason not to do the job. They are nice about it but in the end you are stuck with no installation. 3. I had to pay a different company to have my carpet installed because of Romanoff. 4. Go to ANY other carpet store than Home Depot if you want your carpet installed in a timely and professional manner. So sad - It cost me double what it would have cost me if I went to another place. :( read more

The worst possible experience. Day of installation asked for $4500 more for THEIR mistake! Installed floors with scratches they wouldn't fix. Very squeaky floors now and only garbage excuses like "I guess your house just settled" what? On the day you installed floors, because it never squeaked before! "Oh well that's because there was carpet or vinyl on top so you wouldn't have been able to hear it". Oh PUHLEEZE. I have lived in many many condos and houses that had squeaky floors BELOW CARPET that was clearly audible. Don't let these idiots take your money folks. Lots of good contractors out there. read more

I bought carpeting from Home Depot and Ronanoffs installed. What a mistake. The intallers were 8 hours late. I wonder if they would be that late if they had to pay me for the hours i missed at work. I paid to have the old carpet removed and disposed of. They came up with an excuse to come to get it the next day. Of course they didnt. I have called and e mailed the company at least 6 times to have a supervisor call. Of couse, no one has. Prior to install i had all kinds of issues with what needed to be done prior to the install. What a joke. I will never use Ronanoffs or Home Depot again. read more

Our installers arrived just in the nick of time (11-2:00PM window), having come from another job. Two guys worked consistently from 2:00 - 7:45PM, to finish the job. They replaced carpet in 3 bedrooms, stairs and hallway professionally - matching direction and pattern. We are very pleased. Romanoff did a great job with pre-instalation emails, communicating the schedule and how to prepare for our installation. My only concern about Romanoff was how long a day these guys had. They started, they said, at 7 AM, (confirmed by the installation mgr), and left our house with a truck load of old carpet that still needed to be disposed of. That's more than a 12-hour day. Not exactly slave labor, but pretty close to overwork in my book. When we asked the guys if this was typical, they said, yes, pretty much every day. The next day would begin at 7AM as usual. If this is the case and Romanoff is expecting their workers to put in hard labor continually for 12 hours, 5 days a week, I can only wonder if they have trouble keeping employees. To the installers, I give 5 stars......to Romanoff, they get 3 stars - pre-communication done well, over-scheduling employees - terrible. read more

I waver between a 3 and 4 star but will stick with 4 since both jobs were done well and I'm not unhappy with the work. Our tile install was done very well with no issues with the actual installation. It looks GREAT! The installer seemed very knowledgeable (said he's been doing it for 28 years) and saved us some money which is always a plus. The downside is that the installer was 2 hours later than he said he would be every day. He worked 4 hours the first day, 2.5 the next, and barely 2 the third day. And there wasn't supposed to be a third day! When he said he'd be back for a third day we weren't even asked if we were free to be there. I found that unprofessional. He ran out of grout the 3rd day after an hour of work (that's HD's fault, not his) and then said he would be back a 4th day! That was not going to work for us so I suggested he take a lunch break while I run to the HD and get more grout. And thus the job didn't stretch to 4 days. Overall I was left with an impression of a laissez faire attitude about the whole thing which did grate since it was an imposition on us to have the bathroom out of commission and having to be home while he was there. That said, the actual work was good. The floor looks amazing and when he did work he did so very clean and quick. read more

These guys did a great job installing new carpet in one bedroom and on our stairs. I, too, had seen the terrible reviews on Yelp and was bracing for the storm when they arrived. However, it went swimmingly. The team introduced themselves, confirmed they had the right carpet, and got to work. They cleaned up afterwards and vacuumed. We love our new carpet! read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE with carpet install. Purchased through Home Depot, installed by Romanoff. TL;DR- lack of proper foot covers to protect new carpet and did not appropriate PPE inside my home. Two installers showed up and did not have booties to cover their shoes (with a toddler and an infant crawling/rolling around we have a strict no shoes in the house rule). I understand that the installers need to wear shoes but they should have bootie coverings for those shoes. I don't want their dirty shoes on my BRAND NEW carpet. Additionally the installers took their masks off inside my home. When I asked them to wear their masks they made excuses as to why they couldn't. I called Romanoff to discuss with the manager and was told they only had ONE installer who didn't have respiratory issues and could comply with COVID safety protocol. At this point they have already been ripping up the carpet from my entire second floor and my only option was to continue with the install or have them leave mid-way through ripping up carpet and wait months for their ONE installer who can wear a mask. I felt boxed into a corner, which is a terrible feeling. Romanoff should have notified me that their installers wouldn't be wearing masks, I should have been given the choice to reschedule BEFORE they showed up. Lastly, I received a text prior to their arrival that the lead installer was Ryan, with a badge number. No one by the name of Ryan showed up to my house, apparently Ryan is the "boss." Avoid Romanoff at all costs if you appreciate quality customer service, professionalism, and your family's health and safety in the midst of this Pandemic. read more

I am so unbelievably disappointed.. I was given a time window between 12-3. When 3:30 came around with no update, I called the number that was provided. The woman called the crew and said they were running 1.5- 2 hours behind. She apologized for them not calling to let me know. The crew supervisor did not call me until 7:30 saying he was on his way to install my carpet... I live in a condo where I have downstairs neighbors and quiet hours.. I told him that it wasn't going to work and he said I would have to call the office and reschedule but they are about 3 weeks out. I am 34 weeks pregnant and I had waited a month and a half to get new carpets in just my room and my nursery. If anyone has experienced nesting you will understand how unbelievably frustrating it is to not get things accomplished when you do not have enough time. Long story short I am not getting new carpet but instead contacting Home Depot to get my money back and hopefully some day redo my carpets. Extremely disappointed to the point of tears. read more

Guys show up, my entire house is staged into my kitchen and bathroom with more furniniture out in the hall. Dude says, "You didn't do anything to get ready." Other dude says, ok, w're gonna go get our tools. They never come back and I don't find out until I call Romanoff that they even left. They reschedule for the next day, my phone dies and they can't reach me in the morning. That's totally on me. They never reschedule after that, never answer their phones, don't return messages. Trying to make the appointment was a nightmare - I was sent a notice to book online, the system was not taking appointments, when I tried to call I was disconnected many times, and finally got through, but then was put on hold. Had to call Home Depot for help. Never called, emailed or even texted to let me know what time they were coming. Trashed my walls and trim, which I had to fix - even broke part of my hardwood floor in a different room! - during installation. Unbelievably, the installer denied that he had broken it! After repeatedly calling Romanoff and Home Depot, I was only able to get them to do a quick shoddy repair, as they then missed two appointments and I just wanted something done on the third. This company does not care about their customers in the least bit, although sometimes you may get a person on the phone that sounds sympathetic. read more

Find. Someone. Else. Romanoff was subcontracted via Home Depot to remove some carpet and replace it with new vinyl plank flooring. The work was done well, but the experience isn't worth the price. In the future, I'll be looking for my own contractors. 1. I had to contact them about 2 weeks after they were meant to call me to get the work scheduled. 2. I didn't receive any heads up calls about when installers would arrive on the day. 3. The installers had to repair the concrete underneath the existing flooring before installing my new floor. The contractor told me he'd normally charge $500, but there would be markup since he's contracted through Romanoff and Home Depot. The resulting charge was $1600 on top of the pricing. 4. I came home when the job was completed and found all of my old carpet in my garage. When I called to find out why it wasn't hauled (I had paid for it), they responded by telling me that that the installer had spoken to me about him not taking it due to "pet damage" (he did not). When I asked about the refund I'll be receiving because they refused to haul it, he told me that "removal and hauling is one line item and we removed it". So I look forward to having to fight that charge. Again, I'll reiterate by saying the work was done well. However, these guys are going to gouge you and provide shitty service. I recommend buying the product from Home Depot, but finding your own installer. read more
