We had a great experience with IVS Fence & Ironworks, a family business that takes real pride in…read moreits work. Our project spanned several months and included a wrought iron fence with concrete/stucco pillars, an automated sliding driveway gate, and a pedestrian gate. It was a complex job with four other subcontractors involved across design, electrical, landscaping, and stucco finishing. Ignacio, the owner, was always available by phone or text and willing to talk through ideas with us. He also would send pictures during fabrication to ensure we were aligned on design details. He was upfront about change orders, and whenever something wasn't quite right, he did his best to make it right. That kind of communication and accountability isn't something you get with every contractor. Our fence sits on a tricky slope, and Ignacio really sweated the details. He had to build the driveway gate just right and pour the concrete track at precisely the correct angle to match--and he totally nailed it. His team brought the heavy gate out several times to ensure it stayed plumb throughout its travel along the slope. He put a lot of thought into engineering something that would last--in fact, I had to talk him down from a few ideas for making the gate even sturdier! His team was respectful, friendly, and did great work. They also kept the job site clean at the end of each day, which we appreciated throughout a long project. I'd highly recommend IVS to anyone looking for thoughtful craftsmanship and a contractor who stands behind his work.

Ignacio, who came for the site visit and identified himself as the owner, was very easy to communicate with both in person and over the phone. However, Jackie, (not clear to me if she's the co-owner or Ignacio's wife) finalizes pricing and pretty much runs the show. For our project, we had picked IVS to do the work, but the price kept increasing by thousands of dollars. I asked to speak with Ignacio since these changes were inconsistent with what I discussed with him and put them week above our other quotes, but Jackie said that's not necessary since she decides the pricing. They also charge tax on materials, which no other fencers do (since they're already paying tax to Home Depot, etc.). These business practices felt disingenuous to me and like bait and switch. I've had issues in the past with businesses like this that once the work begins they'll change order you again and ask for more money. So we did not use them. For this fence, we received multiple quotes. Two companies were in the $9-10K range and IVS was around $12K. All were licensed and bonded. We went with the lowest quote and are extremely happy with our fence.

G & G's estimator, Ben, was quick in scheduling a visit to quote the project, for which we specified that we wanted heart redwood. Work wrapped up on time and we are so pleased with the result.

Scheduling was easy, and they arrived right on time. Ben came with his crew, introduced everyone, and they got straight to work. They removed the old fence and installed the new one efficiently. The entire 24-foot fence project took just over four hours. We had received another quote from a handyman that was significantly higher and did not include a warranty. G & G Deck & Fence's pricing was very reasonable, and the fact that their work is backed by a warranty gave us added confidence. The quality of the work is excellent--the fence looks clean, sturdy, and very well built. Overall, I'm very happy with the results and would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

Finally I ran it off the rails when I tried to close the garage door while a ladder was in the way. I was dying inside my heart-of-hearts, worrying how much will it cost?, will they need to replace the whole door?, then I'd have to have the new door painted.... Don't worry about any of that. Call these guyz and get it done, fast, easy, AND cheap--all 3! ExtraSpace Storage told me they use these guyz exclusively. For how many garage doors ExtraSpace Storage has, you KNOW they use the best garage door repair peeps. The door works better than before. Honestly. All that AND the garage door works better than before I broke it. Whether you give a thumbs up or not, I hope you found this review helpful.

Gerald came out to estimate our back fence which conveniently (not) decided to lean over into our neighbor's yard. We accepted the estimate, did one change order (to add extra feet), and settled on a construction date. Today, Gerald, Saul, and Reuben arrived on time and with everything ready to go. Saul and Reuben are amazing! They worked tirelessly all day, communicated so well, and were cheerful throughout. It was wonderful to have them around. I couldn't believe that they were able to put in a 2' retaining wall and 25' of fence in one day - so much digging! When they left, everything was clean and nice. I'm including a photo, but we are the ones who stacked stuff in front of the fence to keep the dog from getting into the setting concrete. If you are considering fence work, I highly recommend Reuben Borg Fence and especially Gerald, Saul, and Reuben. Thank you so very much!

Gerald from RB Fence came to look at the job and provide an estimate. His quote was very detailed, much more so than any of the others we received, and it was the only quote to include a Split Invoice Addendum form for dividing the cost with our neighbor, enabling us each to pay separately and having the amount of each share clearly documented. (This was particularly important because we agreed on an uneven split.) RB Fence was the only quote that came this way, and it really was a selling point, because it made things easier for us. On the day the work was to be done, the crew arrived on time and immediately got to work. We were surprised by how quickly they got the old fence down and the new one up. Gerald came by partly through the job to make sure we didn't have any questions and things were on track. I appreciated that he took responsibility in that way. The job was completed in a timely manner, and the new fence and two new gates look terrific! Working with RB Fence was the best choice for this job.

4 stars for quality work. 0 stars for ethical business…read morepractices I hired Melvin and George from La Económica Landscaping after receiving a written estimate from their coordinator, Cindy, for work that included: * Garden clean-up & hauling - $1,375 * Mulch + small brick installation (combined) - $650 Total: $2,025 And a recurring monthly maintenance fee at $200 The crew did a nice job with the clean-up. Their labor and craftsmanship were good. However, the way this business operates is extremely concerning. Even though the scope was clearly defined both verbally and in writing, the owner later tried to change the terms of the estimate, claiming parts of the agreed-upon work were "mistakenly included." Throughout the process, there were multiple "gotcha" moments, surprise clarifications, shifting explanations, and attempts to downplay what was originally promised. Despite the written estimate explicitly listing a "mulch + small brick installation (combined)", the brick installation was never completed. When I followed up, they claimed it had been a "mistake" in the estimate and refused to honor that part of the agreement. Communication became defensive, taunting, and unprofessional, and rather than resolve the situation collaboratively, the owner sent a $300 refund before we had even reached an agreement, then canceled my ongoing maintenance service altogether. It's disappointing, because the work quality itself was solid. But their business ethics and communication practices are sketchy. They seem more focused on short-term profit than building long-term relationships or standing by their written commitments. They told me the brick feature would enhance the look of my garden. I guess I'll never find out. If you decide to hire them, make sure every detail is documented and signed. Otherwise, expect last-minute changes and confusion about what you actually paid for.
