Went back to an old neighborhood pizzeria. Haven't been there for years, and honestly the food holds up and is still exactly the same. Big portions and good value. The decor is a little dated and some tables had crumbs. But the staff is so nice. Fast service and still a great spot for a quick bite. read more

My friends and I ordered from here through the Uber Eats App, as we had a coupon. We ordered a large pie with half meatball and a taco slice. Visit Date 6/12/13 Sometimes I write my reviews a few weeks past my visit date. So if I remember or make note of my visit date I'll note it in the review. So I was walking along Merrick Ave to meet my friend who lives here and I was looking to grab some lunch. I stumbled upon this pizza place and decided to try it. In the warm weather this place is inviting. They have huge front doors that open the whole front of the place up in warm weather, inviting you in to grab a quick slice or sit down leisurely to enjoy some Italian food. I grabbed a baked ziti slice on the run so I didn't have too much time to enjoy the atmosphere. I love baked ziti slices, I realize they are double carbs but sometimes I just don't care. I was pretty pleased with the slice. The crust was more on the crispy side but definitely not overly crispy or saggingly soft. The slice lacked some spice but it was still pretty good. The ziit was a good consistency not too soft or too hard or burnt. The ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese and sauce on the slice bought everything together nicely and made the slice go down incredibly well. This was a pretty good place, once I sample other restaurants along the Merrick Ave strip I could definitely repeat some visits here. read more

There specialty slices are a little better then their plain cheese and Sicilian but still nothing to write home about. Someone told my husband this was the best pizza around so I was up for the challenge cause I LOVE pizza. So how do I explain the five stars. Was it the best pizza I've ever had? No, but it was good and the service was exceptional! Whoever that young man is, he deserves a raise. He's so polite and attentive and def a great example of what customer service should be. So now onto the pizza. My sons pepperoni was covered in pepperoni. Way more than the other places we usually go to. They didn't have bruschetta pizza but they quickly made one more me. I looked at it and I'll admit it didn't look appetizing but one bite and...... yummmmm!!! I also got a broccoli wheel and sauce on the side, he gave me cold sauce :( I'll forgive him for that cause he's a sweet kid. Hubby got spinach and broccoli slices. He really liked both. I would rate Roma three and a half stars. Roma is a reliable neighborhood pizzeria. It's a good spot for lunch. They have an array of specialty pies and grab-and-go items like pepperoni pin wheels, chicken rolls, and such. They also have heroes and simple Italian fare. The prices are all pretty reasonable. Service is usually quick. The pizzeria is close to a huge parking lot, so parking is never an issue. read more

Just moved right by and ordered over the phone , an order I immediately cancelled after the person accused me of yelling when he asked me to repeat myself 3 times?? I said sorry im on my cell and he threatened to habg up on me? Wait you are talking to someone else while you have me on the phone and Im on my cell thinking you cant hear me good and you get nasty with me?? He must have put down the phone and had someone else and they too were rude so I said nevermind cancel the order. Just went to pick up my order and it wasn't there. They gave it away! WTF. This is the 2nd time this happened and they didn't even throw in a freebie or anything. Stopped in here late because I was craving pizza and it totally hit the spot! Real friendly staff and really good pizza! Had a pinwheel too which was excellent. Good decent prices too and fairly later hours for the Long Island area. Also, plenty of places to sit inside and not be crammed on top of other tables. Eh, I walked in here 8 months ago at about 1130 in the morning for an early lunch, and the showcased pizza looked as if it had been cooked the night before. I am sure it hadn't (actually not sure, which is why I just walked right out). That being said, Eight months later I was coerced into heading in here by my Co-Workers over half a dozen other places, one of which is San Marzano (Excellent) and only a block away. They got pizza, I ordered chicken parmesan with a side salad. The salad came out, and it was good, plain salad but had some black and green olives and a delicious dressing. That was the only part of the meal I enjoyed, the Chicken Parm came out and it was actually terrible. They had one full piece of chicken, and then a whole bunch of cut up pieces that if you have ever eaten a chicken roll you would know what I was looking at. Almost as if they cut up too much chicken for chicken rolls and needed to get rid of it somehow so threw it onto my place. Also, the chicken was cooked, but the breading was so light it just fell off the chicken, in other words they put cold chicken on a plate, covered it with cheese and put it in the oven for 10 minutes. Chicken was tough, the cheese wasn't melted, and overall the dish had no flavor and tasted like it was Boiled chicken parm. I ate 1/3 of it and pushed it aside, then the guys I were with asked what was wrong. I didn't want to sway their thoughts so I just said I wasn't that hungry, they asked to eat it and I smiled and got up myself to get them a fork and knife. They only had one bite...say no more. Pizza I didn't have but they said it was ok. Which is not saying much for pizza. read more

We placed an order to go for lunch earlier today and were pleased with everything. I ordered a salad slice while the hubby got a plain slice and buffalo chicken slice. Oh, we also split an order of half a dozen garlic knots. The knots were just ok, nothing special but my pizza was great. The dough was just perfect and the salad on top was great. The dressing they used was tasty, too. The hubby liked his pizza as well. The workers were pretty nice and quick as well. This local pizza parlor has been my favorite since I was in high school. Even just a plain cheese slice from here tastes better than speciality pizza from other places in the area.. Roma is a cut above. Speciality slices from Roma are like receiving two portion sizes for the price of one. Personal recommendation for food to try there would be the ziti slice or their fried ravioli. One thing to note about this restaurant is that you'll be served with the attitude that you enter with. Ordered two sausage slices today. I can honestly say that it was the worst sausage slice I have ever had. They took boiled sliced sausage and just placed it on top of regular cheese slices with out placing it back into oven. Ended up removing it from the pizza. It is not cleanly at all! I was in to order a slice of pizza after a late shift that I did in the ambulance, and I was STARVED! The kid that worked there when I walked in was not pleasant... Ok, so it was late. Maybe he was tired and just wanted to go home. I ordered my slice, and while waiting, the guy working there started to clean up for the night. He started spraying windex in the display glass WHERE THE FOOD WAS! I told him that spraying with the food inside wasn't good and it was disgusting and unsanitary. He looked at me like I had two heads or something and I just walked out! I haven't gone back since. But, besides that idiotic thing, that guy did, the food isn't even mediocre. It's just plain GROSS! The owner is stingy with his food portions. Who orders pizza and gets hardly any cheese I. It???? Who orders a grandma slice and gets NO CHEESE AT ALL on a smalllll square thing he calls a grandma slice ??? no way! There isn't even one worker who makes the food Italian. I should have known right off the bat! There's worse things I can say about this pizzeria and more to complain about as far as the horrible "pretend Italian" food goes, but, it's not even worth that much. Unless you REALLY know food! And or REALLY know Italian food, you would think this place was okay. I have been a loyal customer here for years and years! Great quality ingredients make for a great quality pizza every time a helpful tip is to order your pizza with sesame seed crust... YUM!
