Of course we are back! We brought my son's friend who just moved here and had to introduce him to…read moresome awesome coal fired pizza. As usual, it was perfectly thin crust. We ordered a new to us pizza: Speck and it was delicious. It was our guest's favorite! This time we also tried the Depequa pie which my daughter because it was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Patio seating is now open since it is summer but we chose to sit inside where it was less noisy. Service was efficient and attentive. Highly recommend!

And with hungry stomachs and excitement we decided we see they have a back patio let's eat there. While the space is nicely decorated we saw several staff talking to tables and making eye contact with us and not waiting us. We stayed for another few minutes before we found another staff member and asked if we could just grab a table or do we need to wait. We aren't familiar but given the previous man didn't acknowledge us maybe we could just self sit. The women told us she will be right with us and proceeded giving the other customers water. We said ok and patiently waited. I asked the gentleman at the bar if he could give location for restroom. I took my toddler with me to the long walk around. They really could use a bathroom in the back. But regardless, we went and were hoping to see we had a table on the return. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. My husband was still standing around. We waited for 15 minutes, mind you there were plenty of empty tables. I see this place has amazing reviews, I can't tell if this is just a local spot and they just service them but truly it was baffling to see several people working yet no one could give us a table. Disappointed that this was a save on our list and couldn't even taste it. Poor service

I see my friends mostly at wakes now and my ride fell down on me, so here in Jamaica i stand. For all who've not been, it is about the dirtiest, most germy place per square foot in NYCs transportation world. Its the kind of place I hope you'll never ever see in your life. Everybody's bumping into you and yelling about track changes, looking like a bunch of morons who think they're going somewhere important. Anyway, I ended up getting off at Massepequa and going to Leonardo's Pizza hoping they had a beer but they didn't, figures. First, I had the Italian Wedding Soup. It arrived looking like a drowned swamp with all those stringy, pale noodles swirling around in the broth like a bunch of white wigglers, similarto what i had for first lunchies. They were just sitting there next to these limp green leaves and the carrots were just floating in it. It's like the soup is trying to convince you it's healthy, but the whole thing just looks depressing. You take a bite, and it tastes, well, it tastes rather good, but the name is what really gets me. "Italian Wedding Soup." That's a odd name if I ever heard one. What does soup have to do with getting married? It just makes you think of a bunch of grandmothers crying and guys in rented tuxedos talking about their golf handicaps and portfolios. Plus I'm never getting married again, never ever - i learned my lesson. Then came the Detroit Slice. It sat there on a paper plate next to my copy of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, which was the only thing in my whole damn life that's keeping me company. Look at the edge of that crust--it's burnt to a crisp. Black as night, dark as spadesbut maybetgats how they do it on Long Island. The sauce is piled right down the middle like a thick red streak, covered in all these little dried oregano herbs I applied. I sat there eating this cheesy crusted square, staring at Mark Twain on the cover, and I swear it made me feel sad. Not because the book is terrible, it reminded me of my childhood, another complete disaster. The pizza actually had that crispy, cheesy edge going for it, I'll give them that, but because it felt lonely eating alone in public,vi never do that. Me, Samuel Clements and a thick slice of pizza on a cheap paper plate. Next time I'll be sure to eat out with someone fun.
