Once your order is ready they call your number and that's that. The place was clean with seating. It was 10pm and I wanted something to eat. If you're familiar with the area, there are five burger brands, a couple of takeout pizza options--and I could look for a taco truck nearby. But I wanted sushi, of all things. I was bemoaning the fact that if I was in some other part of the city (like K-Town), I could get some sushi. On a lark, I Googled "late night sushi" on my mobile and RollStop Sushi came up. RollStop Sushi occupies a small space in a shopping center. It has some indoor seating, but I suspect it fulfills a lot of takeout orders. It is open daily, from 11:30a to 11:30p. On this first visit, I ordered: the Nigiri Combo ($19.18), and the Spicy California Roll ($8.22). With tax ($2.60), the order was $30.00 before any gratuity. The California roll was okay. The price and serving size isn't out of line, compared to other takeout sushi stores of this type. The better value was the Nigiri combo. The size of each piece of fish was generous, and the protein carb ratio tilts in favor of the protein. Keep in mind that this is not a fancy sushi restaurant; but the quality is good. I'm giving RollStop Sushi a "5" because the store is clean; the food is good; and the owners of this store keep it open 12 hours a day (not including opening and closing prep), seven days a week. read more

We rarely come here because of the sushi is subpar. But we ordered 4 sushi rolls and asked for spicy mayo. They only gave us one tiny spicy mayo. My review is for takeout only. Rollstop is decent as go to take out sushi however I find that the freshness is a bit inconsistent and sometimes the rice doesn't feel cooked though. It's pretty pricey for a few specialty rolls and I'd rather go for more bang for my buck. I still frequent when there is nothing else open but is no longer my first choice for local sushi after discovering Sushi Akito. I do like their menu a lot; it's just in execution where it falls a bit flat. I liked that it was quick to order and ready for the entire family because I was in a rush to get lunch with my newborn and toddler at home. Questionable Food Prep/Storage. A friend and I went here earlier this month and got sick. We orderent different items, but both containing salmon, and both of us had stomach pain and diarrhea. My friend's case was so severe that he had to go to urgent care. I called Rollstop several times over multiple days to alert them and request a refund. They never picked up, and their voicemail was full, so sent a text sharing our experience. They asked for the date, time, what we ordered, and a doctor's note, which I provided. They have since ghosted me and never reversed the credit card charges. Is it wrong to want your money back from a place that got you sick? I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, but given their dodgy nature and excessive requests (that we satisfied) and no response or actions since, I question their practices. This is also a public safety issue, so I will be escalating this to the California Food Safety board, and would discourage dining there until they have been checked out. read more

I've been coming here since the pandemic to get my sushi roll fix. The fish is fresh and they have a good selection of different fresh rolls in addition to the classic rolls. I like the customer service too. The sushi chefs are authentically Japanese and polite. They have recently set up tables for dining in. It's a great place for quick yummy sushi rolls. This saddens me to say this, but I ate here 2 days ago (was the first customer at opening) and had The San Pedro Roll. By 6pm, I started to have stomach symptoms which were consistent with food poisoning. RollStop is a small fast food type of sushi restaurant. It's located in a small unassuming corner of a strip mall just off Western in San Pedro. There's a few tables inside where you can eat but I think the main idea of this place is to grab and go. The food is on par or better than other food places of this caliber. The prices are decent. It's not a full fledged sushi bar, it is definitely sushi "fast food". But the food is good and the fish is fresh and for a quick bite to quench that " I'd really like some sushi right now, but I don't have 45 minutes to sit down at a sushi restaurant to get a couple of rolls.." this place fits the bill. As an update to some of my previous reviews on this little restaurant since Covid has passed I'm not too worried is that the staff doesn't properly wear their masks (as they still wear them underneath their nose) ....at the end of the day I guess since most everyone is vaccinated this should be OK for the time being. read more
