Heard about Rolling Pin Donuts and knew had to give it a try. They're located on a busy street and it's easy to pass by. I stopped by after work around 5 pm on a Wednesday And they still had a lot of donuts left. The chocolate and glazed old fashion both were good. I'm sure they would be a lot better fresh in the morning. The filled jelly was tasty and had a decent amount of jelly in it. Really close to the Caltrain station. They charge 4% extra for using card. The goods: + Has a parking lot + Coffee is decent, ~ $3 for a large drip The not so great: - Donuts tasted mediocre at best. Not a lot of flavor in anything or at least what we ordered - glazed chocolate cake, blueberry cake, glaze twist, a plain old fashioned, and donut holes - Asked for 6 donut holes and received / charged for a dozen. They are open 24/7, almost 365. There is a small parking lot that can get filled up in the mornings, but there is also street parking. My go to donuts would be the ube cake donut, matcha cake donut and the apple fritter. Everything is fairly priced and are absolutely delicious. Their apple fritters especially are quite HUGE. Charming donut shop near the San Bruno Caltrain. It feels very old school inside. I missed my train so I ran back to the shop to grab some donuts before the next train! They take card but if you pay in cash you get a 4% discount. I tried the maple glazed and the original glazed and though both were tasty! The maple glaze was a bit on the sweeter side but good in small doses. Both donuts were fluffy and fun to chew. The total was $4.06 for both donuts. Rolling Pin Donuts is a small shop, but they sure as hell know how to make a fantastic Apple Fritter Donut! The Apple Fritter had a thin, crispy exterior and a soft, pillowy bread interior. The apple filling had a soft chew and pleasant notes of cinnamon. The sweetness of the donut came mainly from the glaze, which was just enough so that you can enjoy the other parts of the donut. As I picked at the fritter while driving home, I got the crispness of the edges but no apples. When I started into the middle, no apples and lacking, in my preference, in the cinnamon taste. When I got home, I sliced it open and there was a layer of apples in the middle. I didn't finish the fritter because it didn't make me eager for more at this point. They had a big selection of doughnuts and cookies. They had a lot of coffee to pick from. The service was fast and they were very nice. It's a grab and go so you can't stay here and eat. When my family was in South San Francisco we were here five times a week since the late 70s. in my 20s, we came here at two and 3 o'clock in the morning when they were just making donuts fresh. for the price and location, it's the best donut place around. As we finally decided on which donuts to get we got the dozen donuts which costs like 27 dollars but it is kind of expensive but I had to try this Donut Shop out and my outcome is the Donuts were delicious and I still have some left and after 2 days it still taste good !! So if you're looking for something to bring on the plane before your flight then stop here and grab you some donuts it will not disappoint !! Also it is allowed on Plane just to let you know !!
