I love Rolling Pin Donuts. I've been coming since I was a kid and their donuts are always so fresh and delicious. I was really craving a jelly filled donut on a Sunday morning, came by, and got to choose between several selections that they had. I got the raspberry filled glaze donut and it totally hit the spot. We also got a few donut holes for the kids and the staff tossed in an extra one for free. Rollin Pin Donuts on San Bruno Ave is always a good idea at any time of the day or night. For us, we were coming back from having dinner in the city and were craving something sweet. We made our way from North Beach to San Bruno as we were staying in the Peninsula so it was perfect. We pulled in to the parking lot and as expected you have some excited for their choice of donuts customers walking out... and once you walk in? The aroma of donuts will get you. The dough, the sugar, the chocolate and the maple. All of it is great and intoxicating. Ha! I went with 2 glazed old fashioned (my favorite & litmus test for donut shops), 1 glazed buttermilk bar, a matcha cake donut, a sugar twist & a raised crumb donut. The lady at the counter was not having our indecisiveness at that late hour. Oh well, we couldnt make up our minds. It was overwhelming... sheesh. The old fashioned glazed was great. Lots of crunchy nooks & crannies. It was great that night and for breakfast the next morning. My cousins also liked their matcha donut and sugar twist choices. We will most certainly go back again. I'm curious to try the filled donut hole looking things they had. The lady wouldnt really explain when we were there so I'm gonna just call them that. Good "Old-Fashioned" Donut shop. Been around forever. Always very fresh. Their Old-Fashion donuts are the best around and they stay fresh for several days. Heard about Rolling Pin Donuts and knew had to give it a try. They're located on a busy street and it's easy to pass by. I stopped by after work around 5 pm on a Wednesday And they still had a lot of donuts left. The chocolate and glazed old fashion both were good. I'm sure they would be a lot better fresh in the morning. The filled jelly was tasty and had a decent amount of jelly in it. Really close to the Caltrain station. They charge 4% extra for using card. I don't know why some patrons are giving Rolling Pin anything less than four stars, but this is surely one of the greatest yeast donuts I have ever tasted. The Glaze Raised is on point, the Maples Cakes are fabulous, and the Glaze Twists and French Maples are stupendous! read more

I bought some of their donuts for the very first time and it was delicious. I got the chocolate glazed buttermilk donut and it was really good. It was nice and fresh. The donut was really crunchy and soft in the inside. When you park your car and step out, you can smell that sweet donut aroma. As you walking inside, the smell of donuts smell super good. It's a relatively small shop, but there's a variety of donuts to choose from and they have coffee and milk as beverages to go along with your delicious donut. The goods: + Has a parking lot + Coffee is decent, ~ $3 for a large drip The not so great: - Donuts tasted mediocre at best. Not a lot of flavor in anything or at least what we ordered - glazed chocolate cake, blueberry cake, glaze twist, a plain old fashioned, and donut holes - Asked for 6 donut holes and received / charged for a dozen. The donut holes were the only item decent so it kind of worked out, I guess. They do accept credit card and the wait wasn't very long. They are open 24/7, almost 365. There is a small parking lot that can get filled up in the mornings, but there is also street parking. My go to donuts would be the ube cake donut, matcha cake donut and the apple fritter. Everything is fairly priced and are absolutely delicious. Their apple fritters especially are quite HUGE. Charming donut shop near the San Bruno Caltrain. It feels very old school inside. I missed my train so I ran back to the shop to grab some donuts before the next train! They take card but if you pay in cash you get a 4% discount. I tried the maple glazed and the original glazed and though both were tasty! The maple glaze was a bit on the sweeter side but good in small doses. Both donuts were fluffy and fun to chew. The total was $4.06 for both donuts. The apple filling had a soft chew and pleasant notes of cinnamon. The sweetness of the donut came mainly from the glaze, which was just enough so that you can enjoy the other parts of the donut. I'm on the hunt for the best apple fritter whose attributes include being not too heavy, a plentiful portion of apples, balance of cinnamon and glaze. Not asking too much right! As I picked at the fritter while driving home, I got the crispness of the edges but no apples. When I started into the middle, no apples and lacking, in my preference, in the cinnamon taste. When I got home, I sliced it open and there was a layer of apples in the middle. I didn't finish the fritter because it didn't make me eager for more at this point.
