When Macys moved into Big D and Sanger Harris faded away, the Macys stores were excellent and I shopped them a lot. The Galleria store was the flagship and awesome. Not so much anymore. They've had big ups and downs but still do an ok job. The North Park center store is my favorite these days and still has a nice homegoods department. I bought a couple of great pillows on sale recently and I'm very happy with them.

Title: Buyer Beware: The Macy's Star Money Return Trap…read more Rating: 1 Star (Would give a -1 star if I could) Disclaimer: Amounts used below are approximate estimates for illustrative purposes. Posting this to warn local shoppers across the area about a major loophole in Macy's return policy. If you use "Star Money" points on a purchase and later have to return your items, their system breaks down and shortchanges your actual cash. On a total out-of-pocket spend of roughly $60 across two items, their system only refunded me approximately $50 when I returned everything. An online supervisor admitted the glitch but refused a manual fix because of my lack of "prior purchase history." Do not fall for the Star Money trap--their system will steal your hard-earned credit card funds on a 100% complete return. Macy's Corporate needs to fix this error and refund my account.

Dillards policy is the manager can approve or deny any return with tags unattached, so I treated it like a request (not a demand) and kindly asked if I could make a return--as I said the tag was off the item, but it was unworn, I had the tag with me, and I had only purchased it 4 days prior. Based on people's reviews I thought it would be difficult, but it was super easy-breezy. Pro tip: I was kind, courteous, unassuming, and I told them the dress was beautiful it just didn't fit my style (which is true) and I thanked them like crazy for their help. Shopping wise, I found this beautiful Free People dress afterwards and the lady who helped me find the right size (I was torn between 2 sizes and she helped me narrow it down) was super helpful. The dress is 100% cotton and feels high quality, so to me it was worth the price. This location has a lot of 100% natural faber options--I was impressed by the selection of 100% cotton and linen options too. Important takeaway here: If you are demanding, impatient and rude to people, you will have a bad experience no matter where you shop. Treat people with respect and compassion, and you'll have a great experience.

Summary: On Thursday, 2/19 around 2:00 PM at Dillard's NorthPark, a manager confiscated my phone,…read morerefused to come down to return it or explain why, and handled the situation in a dismissive, disrespectful way. I walked away from an intended $750-$1,000 purchase and will not return to this location. My family and I have shopped Dillard's for decades and have spent thousands of dollars over the years at numerous Dillard's locations across the country. NorthPark has been my primary Dillard's location for years now. Over the years, I've built relationships with multiple sales associates at this store and other Dillard's locations. I came in for my normal seasonal shopping, trying on a large stack of items with full intent to purchase in the ~$750-$1,000 range. I intentionally came on a weekday afternoon because it's typically low-traffic and makes it easier to shop and try items on without being in anyone's way. The store and department were essentially empty. I was shopping across the men's floor and had a fitting room in the Men's Big & Tall area because I have a go-to fitting room there that's larger and has a chair/bench. I was actively in the middle of trying everything on. I stepped away for a few minutes to grab a different size after telling the associate I would be right back. I left my personal belongings in the fitting room (my wallet, key fob, AirPods, my own clothes/jacket, etc.) because I was returning immediately. I was still mid-try-on and even wearing items with tags on when this happened. When I came back within about five minutes, my fitting room had been completely emptied. I asked what happened and was told the manager, Kenny Harris, cleared it out because there were "too many clothes." Behind the register, I saw a pile of merchandise with my personal jacket literally sandwiched in the middle of it, but it was only part of what I had originally selected. I later found out another pile had been placed in a different location. This was clothing I had spent 45 minutes to an hour pulling from around the store to try on and purchase. But my phone was gone. The associate told me the manager had confiscated my phone and had it in his pocket. I then stood there waiting over 10 minutes for the manager to come down, return my personal property, and explain why this happened. During that time, another associate who has helped me in the past also started looking for him around the store because she also couldn't understand why a manager would confiscate a customer's phone, especially when my other personal belongings were left behind. The associate called again and was told the manager was "busy," would not come down, and that if I wanted my phone back the associate could go upstairs and get it. Think about how insane that is. I'm a paying customer, my personal items are mixed into piles behind the register, and I'm being told to go upstairs to retrieve my phone from a manager who took it. I went upstairs with the associate. When we reached him, he appeared to be casually chatting with other employees and did not treat the situation as urgent. He handed me my phone with a quick "here," refused to discuss the situation ("nothing to talk about"), and spoke to me in a dismissive, disrespectful manner. When I asked for his last name so I could document the incident, he became visibly offended, raised his voice, and said he was the manager of the whole store. He continued to refuse any discussion, repeating that there was "nothing to talk about." I walked back downstairs, changed back into my clothes immediately, and left, walking away from the entire purchase. Whatever their internal policy is, confiscating a customer's phone and then refusing to come down to return it or explain why is completely unacceptable. I will not be returning to this location. If you value basic customer service and professionalism, I'd recommend ordering online or choosing another location. Otherwise, shop with retailers that still prioritize service like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, or Saks.

I didn't have time to go driving to stores and spend unnecessary time looking for parking spots and then waiting online so I just did the Instacart thing and ordered from every place I needed to and everything kind of arrived at the same time while I had spent time in the gym you know what I'm saying? So my niece and her husband from New York are coming for Easter and my nephew, her brother that lives here in Dallas with me he's coming as well so I told the kids I was not gonna make them Easter baskets. They're grown adults for crying out loud, but I did tell them I was gonna have a little Candy Bar upscale, you know with my beautiful crystal champagne glasses filled with jelly beans and other shaped glassware filled with See's Candy foil wrapped eggs, and other things that I could remember that are Easter faire- so the kids said to me, but auntie Marie is there not gonna be any peeps? Peeps like the little yellow chicken things? Yes auntie Mary and we like the blue ones too! lol so I was on a quest to find these dang blue and yellow chicken peeps mind you they didn't want the pink bunnies because they said the bunnies don't go peep only the chickens, so InstaCart and Target came to the rescue. I did find them and they are secured safely in my cupboard. Lol so if there's something specific that's got your taste buds for an nostalgic Easter check out Instacart first even if you want to go to the store in person it will tell you if it's available at the store that you wanna go to to save you some time and travel

He said that could be it, but that shoe makers are starting to come up with their own sizing (like vanity sizes in women's clothing). There are going to be items out of place, however that's more due to the customers picking up items and just leaving them anywhere they decide to drop them. So yes, that small you found in the large and the 3XL you found in the small isn't the staff, it's the customers. So please be mindful of this. On my most recent visit it seems like they are trying to offer a lot of items in a small cramped space. Trying to get down the dress section with a cart is a tight situation and if anyone else is already in the aisle you have to wait your turn to get down the aisle. Also there seems to be limited items in certain sizes at this location (big girls like cute clothes too!).
