It's a fantastic way to get involved in a group sport, enjoy some skating with friends or loved ones, and/or be a spectator - in their stadium cushioned seating. I watched my husband play a game here recently and it was a blast. There is a decent amount of seating, as well as a snack bar on certain nights. My favorite aspect of High Country though -was their incredible vending machines. They truly have everything in them. From old school favorites like nerds, to classic chocolate bars, and much more. This place is a wonderful local family run business. I highly suggest you check out their website and event schedule to figure out games to enjoy/and or days to stop on by to skate it up. Trust.

Spent $53 for 3 tickets. I had just taken the girls a few days prior to skate at Modesto on ice as we live in Modesto but they were sold out at the time we wanted to go so decided to come here instead. As soon as they got on the ice they said that it was really hard to skate because the ice was very melty and also complained that their feet hurt really bad. They were on there for less than 5 minutes. Mind you they skated 2 days prior at the other place for a full session just fine so it was kind of weird that their feet hurt and wanted to leave. I asked if I could get a refund. They were adamant that I could not and that I could change the tickets for another day. I went ahead and did that but my girls refuse to go back there and keep asking if we can just go to Modesto instead. The supervisor I talked to stated that Modesto uses the same skates and that he recommends wearing thick socks because the ice skates aren't made for comfort. I don't know if that is true or not or if maybe the skates were old or too new but whatever the case my kids don't want to go back. Since I can't get a refund, I guess I'm out $53. I don't think that is right. They should be more understanding especially when kids are involved. I could see if they skated for half an hour and then said their feet hurt but they literally didn't even skate at all. Thumbs down!

The music is upbeat and the decor is very lively with Christmas trees and lights. I love that they had outdoor heaters for me to warm up while I watched my friends and family and took pictures. This is a great little family friendly place and the folks running it were very welcoming and kept it clean and organized. It was a hit with the kids.

They were constantly assisting skaters with skate sizing and making sure skates were adjusted comfortably, which made everything run smoothly--especially with kids. The facilities are really nice with lots of space, and we loved the tents--they made it feel festive but still relaxed. The kids had an absolute blast. Pizza was delivered right on time, and the hot chocolate was a huge hit with everyone. Overall, it was a very laid-back, easy, and fun experience. We would definitely come back again and highly recommend Modesto on Ice for birthday parties or a family outing!

I definitely think that Gateway could upgrade this place a little more, which is why I can't give them five stars. I came a couple years ago, and since then nothing had changed. Everything's pretty old and outdated, from the vending machines to the skates to the bathrooms. Lighting is pretty dark when you enter. There are also no walkers for those who are new to ice skating and need a little help! Other than that, staff was super friendly! I struggled on the wall the whole time, but it was still a great experience.

Nostalgia combined with music floods your brain with dopamine and is an antidote to fatigue, so it's the perfect way to exercise in middle age. Roller Towne never fails to live up to their promises, always playing the hits all night long. The DJ also typically takes and honors requests! They recently had a four hour long session in which they had music from each decade: 1970s, 1980, 1990s, and 2000s! Oh wow, it was a blast! I have never had so much fun since I truly was young, and the DJ played nothing but the top hits from each decade - no boring songs at all, to the point I didn't even dare use the restroom for fear I'd miss a great song to skate to. They also play ALL of Michael Jackson's top hits during the MJ skates, as well as requests. I asked the DJ to play "Another Part of Me", and he played it right away! Their drinking fountain always has refrigerated, perfectly clean and tasty drinking water, and they never cut your skate time short to make you take off your skates to "dance", unlike the one in Clovis. Even their games are wisely designed to teach kids skating skills that will reduce injuries, such as games that make kids practice stopping quickly or falling to the ground without getting hurt. That was a brilliant idea. Their lockers are still cheap - a quarter for a locker, and the skate sessions are very inexpensive. DJs rarely talk during the songs, but if they do, it's usually because they got so many requests that they can't play all of the songs unless they do. More than any modern rollerskating rink, this one brings me back to the best days of roller skating rinks.

There is a small ice rink with beautiful lights, it's large enough to skate and have a good time. There are benches and heaters where you can put on your skates. There are no lockers, so don't bring anything you can't carry with you. They have a max number of tickets they sell for each night so the ice rink isn't crowded. There are igloos you can rent for you and friends. There are vendors with hot chocolate and other goodies. There is a beautiful Christmas tree and the back drop is the security bank Building. It's so beautiful. Each night is a theme at the ice rink. We went went on Howard's night, but no one was following the theme. It was fun! There are also skating aids if you need them, they're cute seals and reindeer skate aids. I really hope they continue to do this each year.

I grew up rollerblading and ice skating is damn near the same thing, so my 40+ year old a*s was zooming around all the youngsters haha. For me, it was a little too small, so next time I skate, I am going to hit the actual rink so I can practice an axel or 360 or whatever they call it. Anyway, I still worked up a sweat to the point I took off my sweatahirt and was cruising around in a short sleeve. We had to wait in a little line to check in our reservation before we were able to get in. They give you a wristband and a raffle ticket for the rental skates. They have to do a little bag search and go through a small metal detector for safety. They have one person giving out the rentals to people and run the toy tables. You were able to get quads or in line skates. We pretty much just claim a table to put your stuff there. The rink is pretty big. They have neon lights and music playing. There was a lot of adults and kids skating around. They also had padded rails for the rink. We had two large pizzas, two pitchers of soda, and chicken fries. The food was pretty good and had big portions for 7 of us, but it did take a little while for the food to come out and it was kind of pricey. They had little mini arcade games which was fun for the kids. We event got a small little toy which was only $8. It is definitely a fun place for all ages.
