ok listen if im going to be paying 18 for a subpar poke bowl, I would at least like to have ac especially when its 92 outside. This place is ridiculous!!

This place is awesome! Went on a Saturday around 5. Food and drinks were great! There's also Jengla, connect four, more games, indoor & out door seating and a dog park! You go through the different restaurants (in cool shipping containers), order food and drinks and get a text when your food is done. Such a cool place!

Came here twice and will definitely be coming back. Everything I've tried has been delicious. Yes…read moreit slightly on the expensive side but I've haven't tried anything else the compares nearby. Their Sukiyaki and Original Abura Soba has been by go to. I'd recommend getting the chili oil to complete the taste if you are ok with a little spicy. The marinated beef was cooked to perfection in the Sukiyaki. I also tried their seaweed salad which tasted fresh and had the right amount of seasoning. And their Takoyaki was cooked perfectly and had a good amount of octopus inside. Restaurant inside is bit on the small side but they do have bar counter-style seating too. Tables have been on the cleaner side compared to other restaurants of this price range. Parking is easy too, being a large shared parking lot. Service has been good both times I went with attentive staff and they also know when to leave you alone.

If you come to Kajiken expecting a traditional steaming bowl of ramen, recalibrate. This is abura…read moresoba country -- and they do it exceptionally well. For the uninitiated, abura soba is a brothless ramen where the magic happens at the bottom of the bowl. A savory aromatic oil and tare base sit beneath springy, chewy noodles, topped with a silky poached egg and classic ramen accoutrements. The key is to mix thoroughly -- really commit -- until the egg emulsifies with the oil and sauce, coating every strand in glossy, umami-packed richness. The texture is the standout. The noodles have a satisfying chew that holds up against the weight of the oil without becoming heavy. It's indulgent but not cloying. The customization element elevates the experience: a drizzle of chili oil adds warmth and depth, while a splash of vinegar cuts through the richness with bright acidity. Dial it in to your preference and the bowl transforms in real time. If you're a fan of Chinese scallion oil noodles or Korean jajangmyeon, you'll recognize the comfort-food DNA here -- but abura soba feels more refined and layered. The flavor is concentrated, savory, and deeply satisfying without relying on broth. This is the kind of spot that knows exactly what it is and executes with confidence. A refreshing change from the ramen norm and absolutely worth the visit. Bonus points for the casual kid friendly atmosphere and also offering traditional soup ramen and donburi for less adventurous dining companions.

I am also gluten free - and they were super helpful with what I could eat with being both gluten free and pregnant! I had cooked meat and sides, with miso soup and edamame. We briefly spoke with the owner who said some of their food is flown in from Japan. Amazing!!! Now that I'm not pregnant anymore- we will be coming back to eat more off the menu, particularly their sushi :D The ambiance was great and stylish, and parking was easy for us right in front of the restaurant.

While…read moreSho's bento box was a bit nicer, I was disappointed with the following: *Miso soup is diluted! For a sushi or bento box meal, a good miso soup is a must. *The box was tiny: I expect to be full when I consume a bento box. Sho's was much smaller than what most Japanese restaurants serve in the DMV area. *Kara age is certainly not their forte and was one of the worse ones I've had in this area Additionally, they only sell a $12 large pot of hot tea for a group, and I was surprised. They should serve a single cup size for solo diners or for a party of 2. I got an eel avocado roll to be full after finishing my bento box. While service was great, this place is way overpriced and I will stick with my regular Japanese spots.

If you are in the need of a nice warm yummy broth - then you will not be disappointed by the halal chicken ramen. This is by the far the tastiest ramen I have ever had. ( also - add spice to your order because it needs that extra "kick"). We usually order one bowl and I do ask them for an extra bowl so that we can half it between two people. It is quite a lot for one person. ( well for me anyway). I can only comment on two types of sushi that I tried and every time I had it - well it was delicious. The salmon and avocado rolls and the red dragon roll. You just can't go wrong on that order. The ambience - they have booth tables and there are signs that say you should not clean your table after you are done as they clean up - which is awesome. Drinks are in the refrigerator on the side so you can help yourself to that when you purchase it. You can order at the counter or from a self service kiosk ( they only have one - which is quite annoying when you have to wait to order). If I had to think of a few minor improvements - they have soy sauce on the tables but I wish they had a low sodium soy sauce to offer as well. I also think that if the place got busy ordering would be an issue as they have one person taking orders and one self service kiosk. But those items are minor and I will always keep coming back for the delicious food!

Because you know, they are serving raw fish and those fish are caught by fishermen. If you love sushi, I'm fairly certain you cannot go wrong at Tachibana McLean. It's hard to believe the years I spent here might have been a part of the glory days at Tachibana. When they lost their Itamae and were weathered by covid lockdowns, I think the pace of service changed. But the quality of food never has and I've enjoyed every meal here before and since. This is a classic sushi restaurant so you will not get any sort of innovative fusion rolls here. What you will get is a strict adherence to old school tradition and a focus on quality that is worth a visit. It's hard to say favorite dishes because there are so many delicious choices here. If you are sitting at the main sushi bar, you first may enjoy a free gift of whatever the Ittamae is featuring. If you like that fish, then order more of it. For sushi and sashimi, get what you enjoy here because it's fresh and lovely. Do not miss the Philadelphia rolls here because they are extra creamy and the scallions make them a real delight. I also love the New York roll and the spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls. Back in the day, my go-to was a spicy, crunchy salmon roll. This was always a special request but they humored me since I was a regular. I was also forever asking for a very thin slice of jalapeño in my tuna roll but you could only get that in the less-friendly and ambient sushi cafe down the street. Years later, times have changed and you can now order jalapeños, as well as tempura crumbs and spicy mayo on any roll. They have so many vegetarian rolls here, as well, so that is a whole experience if choose. You can order Japanese pickles, fermented soybean and scallion rolls, a plum and shiso roll, a gourd roll, a cucumber roll and an avocado roll. I so enjoy a big plate of veggie and shrimp tempura here. The tempura batter is not thick and just right. I also have very much liked the katsu's here: either crispy Berkshire pork loin or crispy chicken. It's an old familiar taste which you should not miss out on. The bento dinner boxes are also awesome. I usually get salmon, beef negimake, shrimp and veggie tempura, shumai dumplings and salmon sashimi. A delightful treat. The buckwheat noodles and udon soups are a bit plain and while they are classically good, i more enjoy the sushi. As for the cold sake, I recommend: the Shochikubai Nigori, the Junmai Ginjo and the cloudy pearl junmai if it's on hand. They also have Choya plum wine and a beer and wine list. You will love the green tea presentation in the gorgeous pottery, as well as that they are diligent on tea refills. Their desserts are nice but make sure you at least taste green tea ice cream once. You can get it here! It's not easy to find this at restaurants, even sushi restaurants, recently.

I was really excited for the beef ramen, but it was a massive letdown. The beef itself was super tough and lacked flavor. While the broth was well balanced and clean, there simply wasn't enough of it - even though I asked to skip the corn.
