We are very happy with the wonderful work that Tito and his crew, Marco, Oscar, and Julian performed in revitalizing our bathroom. We had a dreary, broken tiled shower walls and floor . The shower walls and floor were tiled, the whole bathroom floor was tiled , the walls were textured and painted . The craftsmanship was exceptional. Tito, the general licensed contractor worked within my budget nd his crew was always on time, courteous and professional. We are very happy with the results. We recommend Rojas Construction highly and plan to hire them for additional work in the house! Carlos and Josie Baltodano

We worked with Tito and his team from Rojas Construction & Remodeling on a full renovation of our house in Berkeley last year. The project touched every room including a full kitchen remodel, remodeling two existing bathrooms, adding a new half bathroom, vaulting a ceiling, installing skylights, and building a new redwood deck. We also updated most electrical, all windows, all doors, replaced the plumbing, installed a heat pump, added tankless water heater, did seismic retrofitting, and redid the exterior. We presented Tito and his team with the plans and permits and asked that the work be done in 6 months. Even with some surprises behind the walls and all of our changes and additions (let's add a half bath!), we were able to move in just a month later than we originally wanted to. His team worked with us to complete the deck and exterior finishes after we moved in. From start to finish the team at Rojas was great to work with. They were fast to respond to our initial inquiry and straightforward to communicate with regarding scope and price. They were very accommodating of the changes that emerged along the way, including removing the two-story chimney and adding a walk-in closet. There were also the issues you find along the way when you open up the walls and find dry-rot and corroded pipes. We always felt that Tito was knowledgeable, trustworthy, gave us a fair price, and never pressured us. He was onsite most days and did a great job scheduling and coordinating the various trades (hvac, electric, stucco, etc) to avoid delays. We've heard horror stories about contractors disappearing when you're nearing the end of the project. It was the complete opposite with Rojas - they diligently worked with us to close out our final punch list. When we requested a bit of the final details be reworked because they seemed rushed, they were responsive, took responsibility, and made sure we were completely satisfied before they considered the project complete. The follow through at the end to make sure we were happy with the details was a standout part of the project for us. We feel very fortunate to have found such an honest, communicative, and thoughtful contractor. We're thrilled with the outcome of the project and get so many compliments on our home. We highly recommend Rojas if you're planning a renovation in Berkeley or nearby.

Looking for a contractor in the Bay Area is kind of a nightmare. We have found, over the years, that people are flaky, they subcontract, poor workmanship, you name it. But not Rojas! We've worked with them a number of times over the last decade. We have a sweet 1906 Neoclassical Row House and it's a solid home but in need of some normal care. Tito and his crew walked us through our first big (to us) remodel of our kitchen 6 years ago, it's still in great condition! Then we called him back, in a sea of 15 other bids, to do our back yard deck. His price was competitive but I KNEW that the work would be done well, on time, and without the shenanigans that other contractors can put you through. Oscar, Sergio, Tito's son, Julian and Tito worked through the days to get our project done on time. They clean up every single day and make each space as usable as possible for the entirety of the project. I left them with a set of keys to the house to come and go as the please, because they totally have my trust. And they are oh so patient with the many changes and opinions that happen with any home project. I can't recommend them enough.

Tito's team did a fantastic job with our 120 square foot master bathroom & closet addition, plus a guest bathroom remodel. Despite some inspection delays and rainy weather, he was still able to meet his estimated deadline to finish the job on time. COST/PRICING: The total cost of the project was very reasonable, and we even got 3 other quotes beforehand to compare and make sure we were getting a good deal. Tito even through in a couple extra items to make sure we felt like we were a fair deal. PROFESSIONALISM: Tito's crew were kind, respectful, and showed up every day promptly. We knew exactly what to expect, with the team showing up at 7:30 and out by 4:30 every day, which gave us peace of mind that they were reliable. They cleaned up after themselves before they left each day which we really appreciated, as we decided to sleep in our living room for the duration of the project. Any time we had an appointment scheduled, Tito was prompt and professional. COMMUNICATION: This is the one area where Tito (self-admittedly) has room for improvement. I noticed there are several poor reviews listed here, and most of them are around communication. Tito and I worked well together because I was very involved in the project, proactively asking lots of questions and sending emails/texts to confirm weekly progress, purchases, etc. Tito can be a great communicator if you meet him half way and make an effort to stay informed. Also, I worked from home when I could so that I could check in on the guys. Being that I'm fluent in Spanish, it did make it easier to work closely with them on the details, but they all speak a little English, so it wouldn't have been a problem either way. CRAFTSMANSHIP: Wow his team is talented!! They did such an incredible job working efficiently and seamlessly to create our dream bathroom. The tile work was fantastic, and all of the new doors/trim/finishes were done with such detail and care. You can tell that they're all very proud of the work they do. It's never rushed and always done with precision. ATTITUDE/FLEXIBILITY: Very positive energy from all of them. Always very reasonable and listened to our requests, even when we'd change our mind in the middle of something, or decide to add something onto the existing project. For instance, we decided to add new doors and trim more than halfway through the project, and Tito was more than happy to accomodate, and even met me at Economy Lumber to help me purchase the perfect doors. TRUST: This is the biggest one for us. We needed a contractor and a crew we could trust with our house while we were away at work. We needed assurance that we wouldn't be taken advantage of, or duped in any way. Any with Rojas Construction we felt super comfortable, which is important during an inherently stressful renovation. Would highly recommend Tito and his crew, and I know we'll definitely use them for our next remodel (c'mon new kitchen 2020!!!).

Tito and his crew at Rojas Construction have done an amazing job on a few projects for us, most notably a laundry room we had built in an unfinished space in our house. As part of the laundry room project, his team also built a large storage area that allowed us to leverage space that would have otherwise gone unused. Working with an unfinished space in an older house, we ran into some obstacles, for which Tito was able to help us find practical solutions that stayed within our budget and worked very nicely. We are extremely pleased with the work they did and could not be happier with the final results.

Tito and the team from Rojas construction were fantastic to work with. I have worked with many other contractors in the past and Tito is by far the best. His whole team is dependable, punctual, knowledgeable, respectful and incredibly easy to work with. They took the time to clean up after every day of construction and made sure our everyday lives weren't affected while they were working. We had no issues with them throughout the year-long project and couldn't be more happy with the end results and finished product. Rojas construction will be doing all of my future projects and I would gladly refer them to all of my friends and family.

I met Tito is 2013 when looking to purchase our home. My Real Estate agent called Tito while I considered submitting an offer on the property, which relied on our ability to flip a 375 square foot unit into a studio. Tito showed up on the spot, followed-up with a quote and had the studio move-in ready in 6 weeks. Fast forward to 2020, he's also remodeled our kitchen, master bathroom, deck, built a storage unit under my deck, removed a fire place from the living room, painted many interiors rooms of the house, including the full exterior and now a garage remodel. I always thought Roja Construction would return to remodel my 2nd bathroom next, but shelter in place changed that as we looked for more space to work from home. I called Tito on a whim, thinking this project might be too small for him. He showed up the next day, provided a quote a few days, and started soon after. He told us two weeks for garage remodel and the project only went over two additional days for final touches. The bulk of the project was complete as anticipated, but some additional time was needed for the cement floor to dry. The remodel was a big project which included demolition, re-framing the attic to use for storage, an access door to the attic, dry wall and texture throughout, new electricity, recessed lighting, a light in the attic re-framing of the exterior door a brand new window installation for natural lighting, restored our garage floor which was horrendous and looks absolutely beautiful for a fraction of the price of new concrete. We couldn't be happier with the garage and framing the ceiling. The additional cost to reinforce the attic is well worth the storage space gained. Working with Rojas Construction has always been about more than the project. Tito is very pleasant to work with, a great communicator, he's fair, his crew is professional, punctual, clean, trust worthy, and he'll do his best to meet the deadline. Our two daughters are also very fond of him as they've grown up around him while he's worked on our house. Our neighbor even told us how impressed they were with the cleanliness of Tito's crew. Tito has become a household name. It's been 7 years and well over $150,000 in home remodel projects. We only have two more project until the house is complete and will return to Tito once we save enough. I highly recommend Tito and his crew at Rojas Construction & Remodeling.

After, garage and side of house, plus driveway repaired.

The pest report for our new home showed we had dry rot under our stucco. We met with several contractors. None of them were willing to give us an estimate on the cost of repair. The one ballpark we got was unbelievably expensive! There were also different approaches to doing the repair, from just a patching job or complete removal of the stucco. We felt that complete removal of the stucco was the right way to go so that we could have peace of mind that all of the dry rot had been found. Tito was the only contractor willing to give us a written estimate. He gave us a detailed estimate for each phase of the job, telling us the most it would be if there was substantial dry rot found after the stucco removal. Because we had a definitive number, we were able to add other aspects to the job, such as adding shear walls and insulation to our house. Once we removed the stucco we discovered MUCH more dry rot than had been indicated in the pest report. Tito never went beyond his original budget. We also discovered that there was almost no framing for the front porch. Even though this wasn't in the original scope of the work, Tito and his crew put framing in for the porch without adding to the budget. Tito is warm and friendly and we enjoyed working with him. That goes for his crew as well. They are also NEAT! Each day they made our house looks as clean as possible when they left and were prompt with hauling off debris. We are so glad we went with Tito and Rojas construction. He was the only contractor we met with who understood that we couldn't just dive into this job without having any idea of what it would cost. Tito made sure that we were satisfied with our home before he signed off. We would definitely hire Rojas Construction again.

Groundworks had informed me prior to starting work what would be required to successfully complete this project and had my full approval. This is an exceptionally well-managed company, and every step of the process was handled professionally and efficiently. We obtained three bids, and Foundation Solutions was by far the easiest and most competent company to work with. They were willing to work with us on their proposal, and throughout the entire project they demonstrated honesty, integrity, and a commitment to doing things the right way. They use Ram Jack which was minimally invasive. They truly run their organization like a well-oiled machine. Our project manager, Brett Everling, was excellent. He kept us informed every step of the way, from the project planning to the city permits and construction schedule. Communication was outstanding, and everything proceeded exactly as promised (and even a little ahead of schedule). For a project of this size and complexity, it's remarkable that everything went so smoothly. The Foundation Solutions crew was punctual, hardworking, and incredibly diligent. They hand-dug the excavation areas, which was no small task, and they treated the property with care. The amount of concrete that needed to be removed was kept to a minimum, and the concrete repairs afterward were done nicely. We did have one issue with the sprinkler system after it was reassembled, but Foundation Solutions responded quickly and resolved it without hesitation. Not once that I felt rushed, pushed or disrespected. The team kept me informed on the timeline of permit, project starting time, inspection and completion, everything was transparent. They passed inspection without problemsx Our foreman is Humberto who was polite, dependable and kept me well informed on the work they performed the day of, when they finished work and provided needed before and after pictures. I also find their pricing is reasonable compared to other companies that we interviewed with the experience that far exceeds their piers. Overall I had a good experience with the crew. They are polite and really didn't interfere with our life that much while they work. I would recommend them for all foundation repair needs. Be careful because lots of foundation companies will scam you, just because you will not be able to see what they did underneath your crawl space. The last foundation company came out to fix our house they made a bunch of noise for 2 weeks, said they are done and then we hired an independent inspector and confirmed they did nothing. Spend the money on a good company. This one is probably the best one ( we interviewed 6 companies)

That was false and deceptive advertising. This is what they did to my house. No masonry saw was used, only impact drills, which act as small jackhammers. FRC significantly damaged the entire brick facade, adjacent areas showed extensive cracking, entire areas had the brick facade knocked completely off the house, and the wall foundation was separated from the brick wall entirely. I told the work crew, headed by Luis, to stop using impact wrenches on the bricks immediately, then told them TWICE. Not only did they not stop, despite direct STOP work orders, they then took all of the bricks they'd destroyed, which legally is theft, called conveyance. Jesse Marquez explained that the bricks were so old they'd shattered. Luis returned the bricks after Jesse Marquez called, ignoring my several phone calls and texts. Jesse texted that the bricks were so old they'd shattered. Luis returned them, none were shattered, all were broken by the impact drills. Luis confirmed, texting that the bricks were "broken". They took the bricks to hide the damage. The day FRC received my Contractor's State Licensing Board complaint, FRC messaged that someone would come to assess the damage for repairs, and FRC would repair the masonry they'd destroyed. They first sent Robert Pagan, who acknowledged both that there were no masonry saw marks, and that the damage was excessive. According to FRC, Jesse stated Robert hadn't said this. It wasn't until I pointed out he'd said it while standing in front of a Ring camera did that lie die. FRC then sent Troy Knight, who acknowledged the same, and stated he was there to help, and would see that the masonry was repaired and more. I have several texts, voicemails and emails from FRC stating they will complete the job. They never did. FRC employee Mike Crites was sent to perform the repairs. He returned the following week with the wrong sized bricks in the wrong color, and proceeded to do more damage. This is the work that they did. FRC employee Mike Crites initially stated that he had retired as a mason, he later revised that statement, saying he'd only worked with pavers and concrete. The work performed was so substandard, FRC sent Jovincio, who was the only honest person in my entire dealings with FRC. Jovencio said he wasn't a mason, but had "some training". Jovencio replaced the work done by Mike Crites. This is Mike's effort, and Jovincio's replacement work. The work performed is clearly substandard and unacceptable. FRC acknowledged the workers sent lacked the skills, training and necessary certifications to perform masonry repairs. When I requested that FRC send a mason, and included photos of the work, FRC responded that they'd done me a favor; the workers sent were a courtesy. The very clause they'd ignored (and invalidated) by removing the bricks was cited. That they would do no more, leaving me with the bill for their damage. This is what they left. I obtained a second quote to repair the deficient masonry 'work' FRC workers had done - without a REQUIRED permit, with no mortar pins, odd-sized and broken bricks mortared in randomly, mortar lines that range from non-existent to more than an inch. Crites' also removed the brick facade foundation in several sections, replacing it with sloppy concrete. This is a code-violating 'repair' that is neither plumb nor square. The legitimate mason company from whom I obtained a repair quote updated the quote, which has nearly doubled BECAUSE of the 'repairs' performed by the unqualified FRC employees. FRC called this doing me a favor, saying the inept crew was sent as a 'courtesy'. This is not doing me a favor, this is not a courtesy, this is at best fraud. After signing the contract (under false pretenses), Jesse insisted I needed an additional pier ($3,155) because piers can no longer be placed under a window. A pier was placed under the window. Two other piers were not placed according to the county approved structural engineering ($1,850) diagram. Half the piers were installed in the wrong places, apparently according to Luis' whims. Yesterday Groundworks gave an estimate on properly placing those piers. That's how I learned that the improperly placed piers had lifted a joist completely off its foundation supports. This, too, will require additional expense to correct, before it damages my house - literally to the roof. I should have stuck with Groundworks. This is your cautionary tale - no one who values integrity, ESPECIALLY senior women, shouldn't hire FRC.
