I've been hearing great things about Rogue Bbq by the Waterfront so while back in the area I had to stop by! I love the vibe of the restaurant. The decor is very cool, a mix of a Texas vibe and local flare. There's some really cool Pittsburgh sports memorabilia on the walls. I saw some flyers for live music, I bet the nights are fun at Rogue! They have a large menu, their app options sounded delicious! I'd return just to grab apps and drinks. Their cocktail menu looked yummy. Scott, our amazing server mentioned that everything is made in-house-- sauces, pickles, cheese sauce for the mac n cheese, etc. You can tell the food is high quality! I ordered the brisket (by the lb), a side of mac n cheese and cornbread. I should have ordered less than 1 lb of brisket because it was a lot of food! While the brisket wasn't the most tender, it was full of the perfect smokey flavor. The mac with breadcrumb crumbles is amazing --and this is from a Southern girl who knows mac n cheese. A must order!! The cornbread was also really good, it was moist with little bits of corn. 5-stars for Rogue Bbq! Exceptional staff and delicious food!

Rogue BBQ in Homestead delivers one of the best all-around dining experiences. The welcoming ambiance, the inviting and friendly staff and the insanely, delicious food. They just refreshed their menu (don't worry, the fan favorites are still there) and added some seriously crave-worthy new options. We tried their wing board which consisted of their fired and smoked wings- all the flavors and sauces!!! Classic flavors, elevated in the best way. Also tried their cornbread- because how can you not try homemade cornbread!!! It was out of this world. Snagged some brisket rolls to go- unbelievable. They make all their own dough, use their smoked brisket and homemade BBQ sauce to deliver these delicious rolls. I can't wait to become a regular!

Had a delightful post-Christmas dinner here with friends. It was noisy, but we all loved the decorations! The dinner salads are good but have too much dressing to keep as leftovers. Parking is a little tricky--try one street over.

This bacon on a stick was the hit of bacon burgh, the line was long but they did their best to keep it moving. It was good but was a little fatty and spicy for us all.

Rogue catered my cousin's 40th birthday party. We had brisket, pulled pork, smoked wings, and several sides. Everything was really good and there sure was a lot of food. I enjoyed the smoked wings and the brisket with a tangy BBQ sauce. We did not eat at the restaurant so I cannot comment on anything else, but most importantly the food was good.

We had a great dinner here on a Thursday night. The food, service, and decor were all great. The restaurant was all decked out for Christmas, which was very festive and fun. We had the brisket (plate and sliders), greens, and cole slaw. Everything was delicious. They do add peppers to their cole slaw, which is not my thing. All in all a good dinner and a good night!

This location opened recently. The renovation was done nicely. Our waitress was helpful and kind. The issue was the food. Our ribs were not even close to fall off of the bone. They could have cooked for another two hours. The flavor was ok and sauce was good but very difficult to eat. The meat was just too tough. The mac and cheese was the best part. Coleslaw was so bland and tasted like water. Definitely needs improvement

It also makes sides such as macaroni and cheese, baked beans, and roasted corn on the cob. This business is available for catering and special events. I was a customer of Jim's Smokin' Que at the 3rd annual Iron City Car Cruise at Pittsburgh Brewing Company. I ordered a pulled-pork sandwich, brisket sandwich, cornbread, and mac and cheese. The cashier told me that they were out of brisket. After I paid, another employee told her that they were NOT out of brisket. Here are my ratings for the individual foods: Pulled-pork sandwich - 4 stars - Juicy and flavorful pulled pork. Bottom bun got soggy. Cornbread - 4.5 stars Mac and cheese - 3 stars - The noodles were cooked OK, but they need much more cheese. They tasted plain.

We went in the evening on Saturday, and it was not terribly crowded overall, nor at any of the vendor booths. One thing I liked about this vendor was that they were preparing a lot of the food on-site. Meaning, they were roasting and then carving the meat all right there. It was interesting to see and watch, as I feel a lot of the time that is not being done with vendor-style barbeques. We ordered the platter with One Meat and Two Sides, along with a Cornbread Muffin. For the meat, we chose Brisket, and our sides were the Mac & Cheese and the Campfire Beans. The platter also comes with a piece of bread to pair with the meat. The order came out pretty quickly, and was hot and prepared well. My favorite item out of everything was the cornbread. It was sweet, moist, and paired well with the other items. The other sides were not bad, but they were just alright. The Mac was not super saucy on its own, and the Beans were in a good amount of sauce. It is clear that this barbeque is cooked for competition. That being said, the meat is cooked well and likely is cooked with very specific techniques for those competitions, but it was somewhat lacking in flavor. But, this is simply the style of meat they sell, so it is more just an FYI. There were several sauces that were self-serve, so you can add as much flavor through those as your heart would desire. I enjoyed getting to try this style of Texas barbeque, as I do not believe I have ever had something quite like it. I would be interested to try some of the other meats if I have the chance to eat from Jim's in the future!
