i have been with rogers for 12 years and every single time i call there is always a problem. my own personal information is never "correct" which doesnt make sense bc sometimes i call and its right, and with the same information i give them the next time it seems to be wrong and they lock my account, and waste my time to go and prove i am who i really. I've been paying for spotify premium and it doesnt work,, while they are still charging me and cannot help me bc they are not spotify... well if u take on a contract or a collab with another company, you should be able to fix it since you are taking the responsibilty to have it as part of a plan... i am so fed up with rogers, they do not know what they are doing AT ALL, i will not even go to fido bc they are also owned by rogers. Customer service is HORRIBLE. They don't give you a discount unless you threaten to leave. Then they tell you how stupid you are to leave them because they are cheaper and have superior customer service. BTW their definition of superior customer service is being available 24/7. Sadly, quality customer service is not something they care to provide. I had to wait some 10 mins (it was a good day) before I got a human voice...and then I was passed through 3 different customer service reps before I can get any one to help me. ...And only grudgingly. I feel like I have to fight them every time I call for help. Their Twitter support for cable is not bad but that's too little too late. Oh yes...check your internet usage on your bill every month. The worst consistency and latency I have ever got! Customer service is even worse. No help whatsoever, said will fix the problems, but do not bother to fix anything on the time they set. Even waited 7 more days for "problems will be solved in 48 hours", "technicians will come at your home and fix it in 48 hours" and the 48 hours never ended. Bought 1gbps and never got over 59/61mbps download and 27-31mbps upload speed. Not recommended at all. The worst for gaming and streaming. Left it after long suffering. read more

I just moved back to Toronto from California and decided to start an account with Rogers. This was the WORST mistake! I was booked to receive installation 3 times and each time they were a no-show. When I called and escalated they told me to write to the highest level of escalation called their "Office of the President"...what a joke! I wrote 3 times and never received a reply. STAY AWAY FROM ROGERS....I finally had a service person come and install my things only to find they decided to misquote me on the plan. I have used Rogers Communications for business and as a consumer for years. During this period of time their level of customer service has not improved but has gotten worse. They disguise their lack of customer support in an army of customer service reps that are not enabled to actually solve existing issues, but to take your compliant and file under "G". Over the last couple of months I have experienced the following: - Marketing Text messages between the 2-3 AM. (Yes, my cell is my alarm clock). - Layers of red tape to remove myself from marketing advertisements. - Escalated complaints that don't get a follow up. (After a couple times of asking to speak to a manager and never getting a call back, I give up) - Expensive bills because I use my phone for work and no easy way of changing the contract. - Minimum 3 minutes of automated call distribution before I get put in a Q, to speak to someone. (Yes, I timed it. Its actually longer because of the 1 minute of dead air, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a one off issue) - The endless circle conversations with customer support reps to do anything proactive with an issue. I understand that they are a large company by Canadian standards but when US companies like Verizon can empower their people to make decisions to solve issues and Rogers can't. They can't be surprised that Canadians want US companies in the telecom market. Especially, the price of cellular service US vs. Canada is so lob-sided that it borders on unethical. Final thoughts... Don't use Rogers (I am not saying Bell or Telus is any better, but I have heard of people having a better experience than mine). These people are scammers and this review has been years overdue. I have not dealt with this particular location and this review is for Rogers in general. I was with Rogers for all of 30 minutes in my entire life. I never had service and spent over 30 minutes on the phone with THEIR customer service trying to rectify it. In that time, I was told that I owed them $450 from a previous debt and had to pay it before they could give me service. WHAT?! HOW?! Recall, this is the first time I have ever dealt with them so how on earth do I owe them money already? It wasn't even an hour since I signed up with them! I said I didn't want to deal with them anymore and wanted my money back. Now they decided they cannot take back the phone because I had gone past the allotted talk time to return it. I NEVER had service and only talked to THEM! Another series of 611 calls, more stress and finally, weeks later, they gave me back my money and I was more than happy to return their stupid phone and swore never to deal with this nightmare of a company again. I had to wait for this terror to be over, borrowing people's phones in the meantime, before signing up with a different company. This is what happens with monopoly/duopoly which is way too rampant in Canada (Shoppers/Rexall, Bell/Rogers, BestBuy/FutureShop, etc etc). In the case of telecommunications, they get to screw with customers from all directions imaginable and get away with it because most customers will give up from exhaustion. My tv keeps cutting out (the screen goes black and no sound comes on). Sometimes it's been doing it randomly but it mostly does it during bad storms (rain or snow mainly). It is really too bad that you cannot rate them with zero out of five stars. Rogers has poorly trained staff that has little to no idea 99% of the time how to help with a problem or even order a new product. Typically I would go through 30-50% of my battery trying to do something as simple as booking an appointment. Questing they ask are repetitive and redundant. Tying to get to the department you want is tiresome and often not possible. Rogers customer support sucks. I am writing this while on hold now for 20min. I don't get it. Do they not pay their staff enough to give a rats ass. Are they all on lunch or out back in the ally getting high. I pay for 28 mbps internet speed and I get 1.44. My phone does not work. my wifi has no range, my tv is pixcelated and freezes. the channel guide lags and looks like something from 1985. I got a new box its even slower. I got a new modem its wifi range is worse. CSRs are no help. I ask them to install a new outlet for a new cable receiver they tell me to do it myself with a spliter and running wire. Oh and when the service guys installed the cable they left a mess of wire everywhere. Rogers I hate you with a passion. I am so glad I called Bell. Constant over charges and monthly billing increases with NO notice. We cut ties with their cellular service earlier this year and will now be leaving their internet plan as well. Their most recent bill is trying to over charge is by more than $110, twice the price we paid per month for internet ($48). I called to customer service because my eero identified 2 other users that was connected to my internet (Rogers internet got hacked) the woman did not know what to do, my call took about 30 min and I was on hold for most of the time. She rebooted my internet and did not asked me, where my home sequrity system is connected to the internet. So by rebooting the internet on her way she switched off my home sequrity system and told me that she can't switch it on back. For the future reference Rogers internet can be easily hacked( even though I have a strong password, or men who came to service calls sold it to someone) and they do not care about your concerns and can reboot the internet without letting you know, so if you have home sequrity system connected to the internet, be prepare to loose it for a day when you are not home! read more

Beware those account members who have family members with the same last name who also have accounts with Rogers. On about three occasions over the last few years, Rogers reps have told me that they were unable to make a access my account/change/modify a service, only for me to uncover, in each case, after one-2 hours wait time, that they were accessing my mother's account ( same last name, different address) In all cases, I was passed along from one agent to another- in one case today, three agents- and had to repeat information. Today, the second agent accessed the wrong account Not only is this breach of privacy, for my mother, but given that it is a communications company, it is highly incompetent. I did not have my account information, and was advised that they could not access my account; however, yesterday, it was done without an account number, and the first agent today, was able to access it. If this occurs with anyone, escalator the matter and demand a free month/two months for the error. .. and do not let any agent bully you into thinking that this is a minor error. read more

The worst internet service ever. I got ignite 500 Mbps, but it never gave me more than 50 Mbps. On one occasion, I could not even open pages, but when I used VPN, it worked, which shows Rogers limits internet usage. Their customer service is the worst. Whenever I called, I had to wait an average of 40 minutes to talk to an agent. After a month, I decided I have had enough, so I cancelled, yet they sent me a new bill asking me to pay for an extra month. I called several times to ask them to correct this error. They said I would receive a final bill, but a month later, they sent me another bill. Keep away from Rogers at all costs. read more

Rogers Communication is an absolute 0 star for their services. I had a very difficult time moving my father's phone services when he moved. We had IT inefficiencies, miscommunications and booking issues. After having an extremely bad experience, we decided to move to Bell Canada. We did this in September of 2017. Recently, I went over to review my fathers bills as I noticed he was being charged $50 a month by Rogers. Once I looked at the bill, I noticed that he was being charged cable for a different address. Either they forgot to remove our billing information from the box when I returned it, or someone is scamming us. When I contacted Rogers, they insisted on talking to my father. I explained that he was 85 years old and sleeps once I return from work - as well I was not able to spend 2 hours waiting for a Representative while at work. I told them that I was not asking for them to release any information, but to just check to see that we had cancelled service and to investigate. read more

I have been with Rogers since 2007. I was first on their resident business account but moved to residential a few years ago. I have moved twice in the past few years and changed ny service options. The Internet Speed is consistent and reliable. Only a few minor network issues in four years. I am writing about my recent tech visit. I called, and got a person right away, he saw that the modem had recycled three times that day indicating it was likely a router issue. He offered me a tech or option to drop off. I requested a tech. He was able to book one the next day between 8 and 10. He arrived at 9:22. I received few texts to remind me and he called to confirm. He tested the end points before replacing the modem with a newer one. The setup was remarkably simple. What I liked so much about the set up is that they take you Wi-Fi password can make that the router password too. Added security to those that are not aware they have to change their password. I have never had a billing issue, though the first invoice after a change is usually a bit difficult to understand. Another note. Some of you call rogers every year looking for a better deal. I used to do this, but found there is a better option. For the past 5 years, I have been getting 25 to 50% off the retail by taking a two year contract. No fuss, no hassle, no dealing with retention. I can say the service I have received from them is comparable to the service I get with Apple. They simplified the move twice taking charge each time. Glad to see the focus on customer service. read more

It's interesting that most posters here either love or hate Bell or Rogers. I have lived at the same address since July 2005. My first Internet provider was Rogers coupled with a home phone landline from Bell. Forget Rogers home phone: no electricity....no phone! The installations were flawless and completed the day after I had placed my orders. My major complaint was the Rogers billing. For 4 years, I had to dispute the monthly charges. On each and every occasion, they had to reduce the amount of the invoice. The last straw was when I ordered a cell phone from them. The thing didn't work in my unit. They had guaranteed me that my cell phone would work at my location. I found out that I live in a "dead zone" for most cellular networks. They refused to refund my money for the cell phone. I cancelled everything and ordered Bell's services: home phone, internet (50 Mbps package) and Alt TV. You guessed what came next: a bill from Rogers for early cancellation. I ignored the barrage of phone calls and collection agency letters. This went on for almost 5 years! They finally gave up. My monthly invoice from Bell is now a mere $12.00 more than it was with Rogers. That is: $94.95 for 3 services versus $82.99 for Rogers internet alone. I finally bought an LG-G5 cell phone and WIND (or Freedom if you prefer) is my carrier. Spotty coverage at best but it does the trick for the apps that I use. Trying to upgrade my device after 4 years of service with Rogers with two device upgrades. 8 hours on the phone or in chat and the result is that despite signing up for this plan 4 years ago, if I want to get a new device this time around, I need to pay 35% more. The extra money doesn't seem to be used to improve customer service either. There is obviously no pressing desire to keep long-term customers. Rogers Internet Wifi has been very slow, always stopping, making video viewing very bad experience. I have a business Internet, and in July, an agent with Rogers told me that I am not in contract, and that I can cancel any time. Based on that information, I ordered another internet provider and had it installed. When I tried to cancel, I was transferred around more than 3 or 4 times, and an agent in cancellation department told me that I was indeed on contract that I had to pay a termination fee. I was a fool to go with Rogers and suffer bad internet for 21 months + early termination fee that I was not informed of. Suffice to say, I am never using Rogers for Internet again. read more

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!! WORST!!! OUTRAGED!!! Worst customer service I have ever had on the phone and in person. The technicians that come to your home are also extremely uneducated, even their "senior" technicians are bad. I had home security and their $150 "high-speed internet". Both which didn't work! The home security was run off the internet, and the internet never connected to certain areas. So because of this both services didn't work well at all. I would sit beside the internet box and the wifi would still be cutting out. I'm currently on the phone with them to cancel my home security, as I already cancelled the internet a month ago. I've been on hold for over 2.5 hours now. Been transferred to 2 different people, one at 50 minutes in, and the second at 2 hours and 20 minutes in. Now i'm on hold for a manager because they are trying to make me pay for early cancellation even though my services didn't work for most of the entire year. They sent technicians to my home OVER 10 times to try and "fix the home security" issues. Only in the last month did the connection get better with the home security BECAUSE I SWITCHED TO BELL INTERNET! And.... now as i'm writing this the manager was "busy" and I will receive a "phone call tomorrow" regarding the cancellation fees. So I just wasted over 2.5 hours of my night for nothing on the phone with Rogers Customer Service. Absolutely furious. And this isn't the first time I have been stuck on long wait times with them - just never 2.5 hours!! But normally up to 1 hour! Rogers should invest more money in customer service reps instead of lining their own pockets with cash. I would highly recommend AVOIDING THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. I went with Bell Fiber and their faster internet was offered for 99$ a month. Rogers was charging me 150$ for way slower speeds (or at least what my home was receiving in speeds). Rogers has gotten worse in terms of billing and transparency. The customer service agent on the phone told me I would be charged $88.12 including all taxes monthly, and my bill was twice that amount! Before Rogers would email you when you signed up for a new contract so you could see the amount and how much your next bill would be. They don't do that anymore, so what they quote you on the phone is incorrect. Also, the cable package was giving me less channels than my previous plan and I was told everything would be the same. In addition, when I spoke to a customer service agent on the phone about the lower price of internet providers they said they weren't concerned and didn't care about matching it. Avoid this company, and stream on Netflix if you can. read more

We've had Rogers for over 4 years, having switched from Bell, due to what I now regard as relatively minor problems they caused me. Rogers technician came and installed the necessary cable, but left without giving us a kit with manuals etc., to tell us how to do anything. We eventually had to visit a Rogers outlet to ask for documentation etc. We took a bundle, with basic Telephone, TV and High Speed Internet. Since then we've occasionally had problems, but unless we've phoned have been unable in any other way (online, email or snail mail) to get so much as a response from Rogers: even after writing to their CEO (or whatever his title is). I write because I have a hearing deficit and often cannot understand callers, whoever they are. It follows that if they are discussing details, and use phone calls as the basis of their contracts, I am at a distict disadvantage. My main complaint earlier on was that I would get regular calls from Rogers on what was roughly a weekly basis, asking if I was happy with their service, and offering to make all sorts of adjustments if I would like them to. And, despite asking them on numerous occasions, verbally and by email, to stop calling me, they kept doing so until I finally wrote and complained. A couple of weeks ago I finally felt the need to complain to their ombudsman, and got a written response to tell me that my complaints had been passed on. Since then, I've heard nothing. However, we've had all sorts of problems with our TV reception (today a lot of my channels, including separately paid for ones, are not available). Yesterday for a couple of hours or so I was unable for the first time in over 4 years to get and keep an internet connection: and it had nothing to do with my hardware. I'm not normally paranoid, but it seems a bit of a coincidence that their having received my complaints, I am now having problems with my TV and Internet connections that have not occurred in the past. After all, one would think that if they themselves are having problems of any kind to interfere with their customers enjoyment of their service, they would make the fact known so we would not think it related to our equipment. So far they've kept our business, simply from our lack of enthusiasm about making a change, but even my wife is getting close to accepting the need to switch to another provider. We had high hopes when we left Bell, only to find we'd jumped from a moderately hot frying pan into the fires of hell! read more

While we were still with them, they were just terrible. I can't remember all of the fine details, because this was a while back, but I can list a couple of general ones. The internet was down very often, and it took them a while to even consider doing anybody about it. When they finally sent someone over, he couldn't solve the problem, so they just left us with our garbage internet. Every month, random charges would appear on my bill. We would spend an hour on the phone each month arguing these charges; when they finally removed them, we were assured that we would not have the same issue(s) next month, and yet we did have the same issues next month. I have called back in February to advise I needed to cancel as I am moving abroad, and instead the man has offered me a great deal since I have been with rogers many years and always paid my balance on time. The deal was to suspend my account for 12 months at no fees, and then I would give them a call back and we would look into renewing a contract, should I be back in Canada. I was very happy and was convinced I would go back with Rogers once I come back to Canada. I even called another time to make sure this was real, and been advised that yes, the file was noted. Fast forward 2 months later, I receive an email from Rogers advising I got a balance of 157$. I give them a call, they tell me that this is an error the account should have been suspended. However, there is a maximum of 4 months for the suspension, and a fee of 25$. Spent literally an hour and a half on the phone, and it all resulted in a Cancellation. I signed up for Rogers NHL GameCentre LIVE™ to watch Flames games (I live in Calgary) for 30$ + tax. This is the message that I saw on when I tried to watch the Flames game vs Tampa on Jan 05th 2015: "This game is being broadcast on television in your area and is not available in Rogers NHL GameCentre LIVE at this time." Called them up. 3 minutes wait time... I was told I cannot watch the game! I said I need to cancel it... Roger agent said there is 39 minutes wait time, but you can leave your number and they will call you back! But their system does not let me do that...
