I was a Rogers customer for 3 years because of my contract. It was a horrible experience as their people repeatedly gave me incorrect information about my options, and their supervisors were not helpful. I even had someone hang up on me. I had a Rogers plan for 2 Month (17$/m). After 3 weeks an Agent called me If I like to buy items. I told her that I don't need any items. She enabled unlimited world wide MMS, Text, Long Distance unlimited, Incominc calls unlimited for 100$ the month extra. (That is an unilaternal trade!) The wireless network is ok, it's normal that there are no network in many places in Canada. (the 1 Star is for that) The service is like hell, you won't become any informations about your account in the Rogers shops. You always have to talk with a stupid hotline which is very slow. You can contract Rogers via Mail too. I did that 3 Times, without any answer! It's possible to chat with a rogers agent. There are 3 different chats, the connection to the right one wasted 30 minutes of my time. Now I have to pay 230$ for the 3 Month without Data plan. Worst Company to Deal With...Period! I was a Rogers customer for more than 20 years. I never missed a payment or paid late. Despite my years of loyalty and the thousands of dollars I've spent with Rogers, as soon as I dropped them and ran into a technical issue (on their end) that was compromising my new TekSavvy Internet connection, they refused to help. When I asked the CSR to put me on with a manager, my request was denied. They actually REFUSED to allow me to speak with a manager because "I was no longer a customer of Rogers." The absolute WORST internet company I've ever seen, and this is coming from someone who had lived in the States for a year and had to deal with Comcast. Rogers is slow, drops out constantly, and they never seem to want to give answers to what the real problem is. A few months ago we had some issues with constant drops in connections, so we called customer service and they said to move the internet modem to another room and gave no reason why this would work. Second time we called, they sent someone out to "fix" the wires on the side of our house, they claimed that was the problem. We had no internet for a week after that, and to top it off we lost power in half our house as well. Third time we called they told us the cold weather was causing the dropouts and there was nothing they could do about it. I should mention that that day, it was above 20 degrees celcius. To top it all off, my cellphone is also on a Rogers plan. I got my bill this month and they charged me $25 extra for sending ONE picture to a friend in Texas. They also charged me another $40 for a ringtone I never bought, but came on the phone. I haven't used the data on my phone since January, but they charged me an additional $70 for "going over the limit". Sorry, but how the hell can I go over the limit on something I haven't used?. I can't even break my contract 2 months early without a $800 fee. Not to mention over the summer I canceled my cable subscription and they're STILL billing me for it. I see Rogers as a "last resort" when it comes to cable, internet and phone services. And even then, I'd tell someone that it wasn't worth it. They are over priced, don't give you the service you pay for, and are complete cash guzzling douche bags. I can't wait until Google Fiber becomes available. Just got a tv/internet bundle installed this past weekend. They gave us a very competitive compared to the company we were currently with. The install was quick and the gentlemen that did the install was nice. There were a few issues after he left, I was on the phone for up to 2 hours for tech support for tv and internet, but once I got to a person they were very courteous and apologized for the wait, which was probably because it was a Sunday afternoon, or that they don't sub-contract their customer service like other companies. They resolved the issue quickly. I was under the impression that one of our tv boxes would be pvr, which kinda sucks because the price is different. So far we are happy with the services, the included shomi is great. Will update review after a couple of weeks with the services. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Attempted getting Rogers Business Security in our business. Made our needs very clear from beginning (many email exchanges, photos sent, measurements done and sent). Salesperson assured us that they could meet our security needs (keyless entry into business). To make a VERY LONG story short....on the installation day they installed everything EXCEPT the keyless entry even though I told the installer when he first arrived to put the door lock on first before he does anything else...Once he was done and was "training" us on the system, we realized the front door lock was not installed. The Installer first said it wasn't on the order, I assured him it was (I had been called to pick a color!), he then realized it was part of the order. He said they had nothing that would fit the door and he told me to call the salesperson and then he left for his next appointment. Well, apparently once the sale is made, Sales will no longer talk to you....Now, 30+ days later and at least 20 calls to Rogers horrific call centre (at least 8 hrs of my time wasted on hold, being transferred everywhere!) we still have the useless system in our business even though I've booked 3 appointments to remove it. Each and every time they do not show up. No one follows up. They did, however, show up on Aug 7, 2017 to remove it even though the appointment was booked for Aug 10, 2017. Aug 7th, by the way, was a STAT HOLIDAY!!! Now what have I received? An invoice for $730+ for a service that was supposed to be removed over a month ago. Now stuck on hold for over 50 minutes as I write this...I would not recommend Rogers....EVER... read more

Was promised a fixed price for premium package with a specialty channel included and found out that they re-nagged on the specialty channel and to boot now my other TV's have limited channels because now I need digital boxes to view channels for the package that I have paid for. Mislead and not told that if I switched me package to premium that this would affect my other TV's. Fed up - check out Bell - they have an excellent promotion for 2 year contact for same package channels with premium package and high speed network with 4 digital boxes for considerably less. Every month I receive via email my invoice from Rogers which is supposed to be able to be paid online, enter your account number and payment and proceed. For the past 3 months, the system says Failed to Load Invoices, you then have to do a live chat with a Rogers Rep and go through many hoops to get your bill paid, and each time they say, we think you should register your credit card with us for automatic payment. Someone needs to look into this as it is pure and simple, a tactic by Rogers to force their customers to sign up for automatic payments rather than being able to view your statement, and pay online. It takes at least 30 minutes of your time to get your bill paid and is totally a scam by Rogers. read more

As a customer of over 13 years with a business account and a personal account, I'm shocked how poorly I have been treated! What they told me when they signed me up for the newest plan I'm on and what they're saying now are completely different. I have been disrespected and accused of being lying about details that were discussed on the phone. On my 10 GB plan they are trying to gouge me for another $50 for an overage in data. I acted within the guidelines that were given to me and for that I'm being penalized. I will pay whatever fees they are extorting from me as well as any fees that I owe on accounts. I will be shopping for a new service provider. Totally shocked at how callous and unreasonable they are!! I tried dealing with this issue on the phone and neither agent nor supervisor accessed the recordings of our original conversations about the plan, conversations that are supposedly recorded for "our mutual protection." He also asked me for all of the manufactures codes on every electronic device in the house. Rogers is continually charging my business accounts for long distance calls which fall into our My5 / My10 program. This issue has been going on for nearly 5 months! It takes 15-30min each time to sort out the billing issues with their customer service who always try to sell us on a much more expensive plans we don't want. Nobody has every had a reason for why we are being charged. It is a waste of time calling in to correct the $2 - $10 a month but I refuse to pay for something I haven't used. Shame on Rogers for scamming people who don't take the time to call in and/or don't see the additional charges. I think it's time too look at switching companies. read more

I already pay Rogers x5 higher for the internet Access then many of other internet providers in Toronto. The only one reason is that i signed up for the contract then I arrived to Canada. Let me start off by saying that Rogers isn't even worthy of 1 star. Too bad we can't just give no stars. Ive been using Rogers services for an upwards of 8 years. 6 months ago decided to get internet and Rogers had a deal of 50% off since I already have my cable and cell phone with them. I asked the Rogers employee on the phone several times "what is the final cost including taxes" but I never thought to ask "when does it expire" so therefore he felt like he didn't need to tell me that it's only a 6 month promotion and that I would need to pay full price when it expires for the duration of my contact - that's quite an important detail to leave out. Fast forward 6 months and I notice my bill has skyrocketed. When I call they claim that it stated on my bill that it was only a 6 month deal and that even though the employee never told me this (after repeatedly probing him about the cost over the phone) it was still my responsibility to read every word on my bill. I sent in a complaint to the better business bureau and 2 days later I got a call from a rude woman from Quebec who basically got defensive and rude in her tone as I tried to explain the issue I had. She of course just resorted to the legal jargon about it being on the bill and it's my responsibility to read the bill. Then she tells me that I am being rude and to use a professional tone when the entire time I couldn't stop thinking about how rude her voice sounded - almost condescending like I was the one who screwed up. I can't wait until I my contract is up on all of my services so I can be done with them forever. They will lose about $2000 of business. I'm sure a small amount in there minds but hopefully this review will persuade people to look for services elsewhere. There are now plenty of other competitors so I urge you to check out other services - I'm sure Telus and Bell aren't angels but there's lots of smaller companies emerging. The Rogers business model: Dupe consumers into agreeing to verbal contracts with employees who are instructed to give little to no information regarding expiry dates of these "deals" they give to people. Then reap the benefits when people are either forced to extend their contracts to get another "deal" or pay full price until the contract runs out. Too bad this will never lead to any loyal customers. I am not surprised their stock plummeted. People are fleeing this company in flocks out of spite of their shady business model. Since there are so many stories of bad experiences, which this almost completely was, I'll write how it changed. Today I was to receive a technician visit for a DVR input, pretty simple since all he's doing is connecting my NextBox to the Home network that already has it. Text came at 10:55 that he was downstairs, he called a minute later, we advised him how to enter, cuz he went to the back of the building. 30 MINUTES later, he's still NOT at my door. At this point I'm livid. There can be no explanation as to why 30 minutes later you've yet to come to my suite. I know how some of these techs are, trying to milk the system, I have no issue once you don't leave me in limbo. I called the office, the rep says she'll send him a message to call me, I can't understand this at all, especially as a means of fixing an issue. The excuses start about maybe he's at another job nearby, which I really can't understand since I got a text to say he's on site for MY job. Fast forward I demand a dept to lodge a complaint and in comes Jo-Anne from the management office, who was a breath of fresh air. The most EMPATHETIC, COURTEOUS customer oriented person I have spoken to in a long time. Even though I was annoyed and really only half listening, the tech came while I was speaking to her, 5minutes later, she stayed to make sure he was doing what he needed, but that wasn't enough for her. She wanted to make sure that I understood that I was a valued customer and that I was in a somewhat satisfied mood at the end of the call. Honestly, Rogers needs more people like her working or to promote her in a training role so she teach others to be a bit more customer-centric. Rogers, PROMOTE HER. read more

After over 20 year relationship I have cancelled my service with rogers. Rogers always had issues in the past but costumer service always used to help to solve the problem. The last straw was a month ago when I moved. I scheduled for my services to be transferred and received upgraded equipment. The technician showed up really late for his appointment and didn't finish until 11:45pm. He had said that he would have to come back to finish up. We had arranged for him to pick up the equipment in which he didn't. $740 gets charged to my account for the equipment the installer forgot to pickup. Three days later my cell phone gets disconnected even though 3 days earlier I had a 0 balance. After a hour on the the phone they explained to me that rogers disconnects accounts that go over $700 which seems odd. They reconnect my phone and tell me I have 10 days to return the equipment. 5 days later my phone gets disconnected again for the same reason. I return the equipment the same day so it doesn't happen again. It's been 3 weeks and rogers is calling me daily with regards to the equipment I have tried clearing it up over the phone but the phone calls continue. Only after going to to the store again does it stop. I debated going to crtc to complain but it takes too long. I spend $1500-$1600 per month with rogers with home and business. I have removed my cell phone account so far but still need to change the rest. read more

I used to be a long term Rogers customer from 1993 to 2010. The last 2 phones I had were the iPhone 3G and 3GS. I was on a 3 year contract and my monthly payments were $115.00 month. That would be a total of $4,140.00 each per year total not including the cost of each iPhone. I got the so-called great 6 GB month data plan. One month I received an extra $45.00 charge for supposedly going over my 6GB for one month. I called Rogers and demanded it be removed! The representative refused. I informed the employee that I was a long term customer with Rogers and that if the $45.00 was not removed, I would cancel my service with Rogers and pay out the balance of the contract. The employee refused. I got the cancellation amount ($650.00) and I cancelled after 1 months notice. I guess they do this so that you would calm down and change your mind. I DID NOT!!!! I sold my iPhone for $425.00. I paid only $225.00 NET to get out of the contract. As the month counted down, I dropped into London Drugs and relayed my story to the employee. The employee showed me the KOODO plan and cell phones. The KOODO plan at the time was $50.00 month with NO CONTRACT. The LG phone was on a $150.00 tab. What this means is that I did not have to pay anything for the cell phone, and that 10% of whatever plan I chose would come off the cost of the phone each month which was on the tab. As I chose $50.00 month, $5.00 a month would come off the phone tab each month until the cell phone was paid off. If I cancelled the service, I would have to pay off the balance of the tab. That is a lot less than cancelling a 3 year contract! I could have chosen as low as $20.00 month. I could change my plan monthly if I choose! Now, the phone is paid off and the tab is now adding 10% month until it reaches up to $150.00, which can be used towards a new phone at any time we choose. I bought 2 new batteries for $30.00 from the US and my wife now uses this phone which is still like new! I just purchased a new Samsung Galaxy SII X with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It is super fast with a larger screen than the iPhones. I paid $100.00 for the phone up front with $150.00 on the tab. I received $100.00 of Visa cards towards anything except towards the purchase of the cell phone. AND NO CONTRACT!!!!! Are you beginning to see the picture? My nephew just got sucked into a 3 year Rogers iPhone 5 with a 3 year contract. My nephew pays between $133.00 and $166.00 month if he goes over the minuscule amount of GB's Rogers now offers. (No more 6GB's month). Let us do the math. The minimum paid over 36 months at $133.00 month is $4,788.00 at the end of the contract. So much for the FREE Phone!!! The maximum amount paid over 36 months at $166.00 month is $5,976.00. I notice that contracts are for 3 years. Probably, by that time the batteries need replacing and Rogers hound you for a new so-called free phone for another 3 years, and so the addiction goes!!!! Compare that with an iPhone or Samsung SIII with no contract. Samsung has a sale on the SIII for $350.00 up front and $150.00 on the tab with NO CONTRACT. You can choose any plan as low as $20.00 month. If you go to $55.00 month, you get an array of features including unlimited long distance, texting, and cell time as well as many more features. Data starts at $5.00 month (Not needed). I choose to wi-fi as I have internet at home and many restaurants and businesses have free wi-fi. So, if I have the full meal deal on my Samsung or iPhone with no contract, 36 months at $55.00 month is $1,980.00 total! If you subtract $4,788.00 (Rogers) - $1,988.00 (Koodo) = $2,800.00 less for the Koodo phone. If you you subtract $5,976.00 (Rogers) - $1,988.00 (Koodo) = $3,988.00 less for the Koodo phone. Therefore, you could have bought 4.6 iPhone 5's at the minimum of $133.00 month, and 6.7 iPhone 5's at the maximum of $166.00 month. So much for the hype of the free iPhones! They are not free if you could have bought between 4 and almost 7 iPhone 5's cash by the time your 3 year contract is completed!!! Suddenly, the Rogers' hype is not such a steal! Rogers sucks us in with the free phone hype and the 36 month contract. It is on the radio and TV all the time. This is why Rogers and the other cell phone companies have so much power over us and over the Government of Canada. Rogers, Bell, and Telus keep us addicted to these so-called free phones while they buy up television stations, control high cable, and cell phone bills. Rogers banks on the consumer addiction to keep the gravy train running. The consumer does not realize that if they all cut their contracts with the cell phone companies, they would bring the cell phone companies to their knees. Rogers did me a favour when they refused to cancel the $45.00 for the data overcharge. I am off the contract treadmill forever! You can do the same!!!!!! read more

My husband and I had a terrible experience with Rogers, we would have given them zero stars if we could. We moved from Toronto, Canada to the United States last week and when my husband spoke to the representative on January 21st i.e. a month ago regarding our move and if we would be able to unlock our phones in the US, the representative NEVER TOLD US that we had to give a 30 day notice to terminate our mobile service. They then slapped on an $63 cancellation charge on both of our phones FOR NO FAULT OF OURS. We spent close to two hours on the phone with two different customer service representatives, the first one was completely obnoxious, downright arrogant and extremely rude. After asking to be transferred to a "Business Manager" we spoke to one who gave us some drivel about how businesses operate and what their "Company Policy" was which, hello, we asked about when we called a month ago. But THE REPRESENTATIVE WE SPOKE TO DID NOT THINK IT NECESSARY TO LET US KNOW WHAT THEIR COMPANY POLICY WAS WHEN WE ASKED ABOUT THE CANCELLATION!!!!!! So here we were legitimately requesting them to waive the cancellation fee and they did it for my husband's phone. But after wasting two hours explaining the obvious to them and whose fault it really was they still left us with a $40 cancellation charge for my account even when my husband discussed both of our accounts with the representative last month. We have spoken to several phone companies in the US and have never had a single experience remotely close to the stress and heartache that Rogers has caused us. They are a completely callus and arrogant organization filled with fools who parade as customer service representatives. PLEASE TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UPDATE 03/02/2014: Our issue was escalated by Rogers. We received a voicemail from a Rogers business manager asking to call back to discuss the one month notice issue. My husband called back and to his pleasant surprise, received a full refund for the last month of our service. Robert, the business manager, was very courteous and completely understood our situation. I give him 5 points for behavior, courtesy, empathy and professionalism. So now, we are paying what's fair i.e. the buyout of the phone and a $50 unlock fee (which is pretty steep in my opinion but let's leave it for another discussion). We switched to Rogers from Bell (because our cable was with Rogers). It was a mistake, it's been 2 weeks and Rogers cannot figure out how to setup our Rogers email. We have now contacted them 5 times and every time we get passed from department to department to be told they are working on it. We asked not to be charged until we get full service and their response was that email is free and they cannot credit anything. We are going back to Bell for cable and internet . I'm sure everyone has their own Rogers consumer hell story. My latest involved finding out that I had gone over my data allowance for the month just halfway through the billing period. So I called Rogers to ask why. After explaining to the "consumer relations" person on the other end of the phone that my history shows I had never gone over using my wireless data availability, she wanted to send my case to the tech department to have them find out specifically why. "I only do customer service," she says. I told her not to bother - I didn't want to be put in Rogers telephone hell. So then I told her that I would be cancelling my service, after my one-year contract ended in a month. I was promptly told: "We need a month's notice, so you have to decide today if you don't want it." I told her well, then, if you care so little about my business, I wanted to cancel. "OK," she said. "I'll put you over to the cancellation department." Once transferred to the cancellation department, I explained to the salesperson that my Rogers service (I also have cable TV, and in the past year have called about my service being out several times) has sucked from the outset, and I wanted to cancel over the data-usage issue. She then offered me a lower rate for a better package - never telling me I'd have to lock in for another year. Then she proceeded to tell me I'd have to pack up my old wireless router and take it to a Rogers store, get a new router that allows for more data, and hook it up at my home. I told her that that was too much trouble - I barely have time to sleep with my busy life let alone spend time in a Rogers store. Then I told her that when I cancelled with Bell to get Rogers after moving into a condo, that Bell sent a courier to pick up all my equipment - I didn't have to trounce around town. All in all, I decided to stay with Rogers another year after the cancellation customer service rep gave me a great offer without me having to change routers. In a year, my Rogers service for both TV and internet expire - after that, I wash my hands of them. read more

HORRIBLE company - I had very poor experience with Rogers in the past (terrible customer service, intermittent internet signal, sky high prices) and vowed to never go back. After over 5 years with DSL internet, I decided to switch to a smaller cable internet service. Rogers, however, has shut down their portal for wholesale providers (down for the last 6 days and counting), so I am not able to have my service activated (Rogers owns the cable lines). Steer away from Rogers!!! As an ex-Rogers customer, I feel like a complete fool for ever dealing with these crooks. Here is my experience: My wireless bill would jump anywhere between 120 and 160 dollars for no reason (I was watching my usage very closely through the iPhone app). One time I received a bill for $700+ (apparently I sent too many text messages). One day something clicked in my head and I decided to switch carriers. After doing some research, I finally decided to switch to FIDO. Why? The transfer fee was only $100, according to the web site and numerous customer service representatives that I had the pleasure (read: agony) of speaking to. Well... guess what happened hext? I received a bill in the mail for over $600 dollars!! After several angry phone calls, I finally requested to speak to the manager. The guy on the line was the most arrogant son of a b*tch I ever encountered. He literally laughed in my face and told me that I was an idiot. I really regret not having the conversation recorded. I've never been so humiliated in my life! People! Do your research!!! For your own sake, and for the sake of other Canadians who get ripped off by this horrendous company. There are several companies out there who offer services that are 10x better and charge 10x less for it. Google the following: Wind, Mobilicity, Teksavvy, OTA antennas... I am now saving hundreds of dollars every month, and I advice all my friends and relatives to do likewise. Rogers is using monopolistic practices to kill off competition and to make sure that millions of Canadians fall for their traps. Please stay away from Rogers!! read more

My family have been Rogers customers since the late 1970"s and we have always received great service. Sometimes you have to call back to get things verified but other than that the service is great, I love my Rogers internet. Rogers LTE network is awesome. I have had more problems with Bell than Rogers over the years and I will keep Rogers anytime. read more

On phone for 1 hour resolving a billing problem Rogers created when the upgraded my Internet. Now they have several accounts mixed up and being deducted from the wrong source, messing up my entire life. After 1 hour, unresolved. I have been through 5 agents who are all incompetent, and they just transferred me to someone else. On hold for 5 minutes and then i get a message to call back later (click).
