I've been with Rogers for over 10 years now. Throughout this time, there have been many many occasions where I've had my issues dismissed, ignored or simply been told that nothing can be done. It's my own fault for staying this long. But when a company has more or less a monopoly, it tends to be easier to stay, especially when they get you with 2-3 year long contracts. I'm not one to post anything publicly on any social media site. However, my last situation with Rogers has forced me to do so, due to my contact (Kimberly Marges - KM601710) completely ignoring any phone calls or emails over the last week and a half. I'm currently trying to resolve an over four month ongoing ticket with Rogers. It started with Rogers misrepresenting a bundled package they sold me at a certain price and then charging me more for it without my knowledge. From the time this started (in July) to date, there have been multiple interactions with multiple Rogers employees with me having to explain the entire situation every time I called after waiting the standard 10-15 min to get a hold of someone. I was told several times that someone would get back to me within a certain time period with a resolution. But no one got back to me, so I had to call back in each time and explain the situation again. Finally, after weeks of begging to speak to a manager and after being promised that a manager would get a hold of me several times, I received a call from Kimberly Marges. She was initially extremely understanding of my situation and offered me a deal that seemed more or less fair at the time. After seeing that these changes for the deal she offered were not applied to my account, I've tried calling back about 15-20 times, leaving various voice mails and sending several emails without hearing back from her. After spending 20+ hours of my personal time, I don't know what else to do and am hoping that someone at Rogers will appreciate this situation and make things right. At this point, I simply want what was promised to me by Kimberly Marges so I can pay my bill and not have my credit affected. Since I've done my share of bashing Rogers (cable, phone, internet provider) and have made numerous calls to their customer service over the years, I felt it only fair that I share when they offer excellent service. Rogers called me to follow up on their "recent service call" to Mom's apartment, as my name is on her account as a contact. Mom has Alzheimer's and I didn't know she'd made a service call to them. When I asked what the service call was for, they said she hit a wrong button on her remote and couldn't get a picture on her TV. (She told them her cable was down.) She also ordered and had high-speed internet installed, then downgraded to light internet, then had her home phone cancelled, then restarted, had a brand new PVR delivered and installed, insisted the service guy take a 50.00 tip for his trouble, (which he adamantly refused) and ended up with a Rogers bill of $296.78. The service man had made notes about her condition, that she seemed confused and he had wondered why she wanted internet when she doesn't have a computer and that she had no idea what a PVR was but liked the clock on it. I asked to speak to the customer retention people and I explained her cognitive issues. I told her how Mom was upset they took away her old Rogers box a couple years ago that had a clock on the front and gave her a plain black box. So the lady said it would probably upset Mom if they came and took the PVR away from her and the lady said she can have it free for one year!!! Rogers will also send someone out tomorrow to her place to remove the internet modem. And...they're giving her a credit of $234.00. Now that's good customer service worth sharing.... read more

Horrible, horrible HORRIBLE!! The customer representative just hung up on me, what kind of service is that!? They told me to switch to the new netbox so I did but almost half of the channels don't work and some others go on and off. I called in and they sent a teck guy over to take a look. Problem still insisted. The tek guy came again and was extremely RUDE. Going off about how we call them too often and that if we call again, he'll have to charge us. WELL EXCUSE ME, IF YOU JUST SOLVE THE PROBLEM, I WOULDNT HAVE TO PHONE YOU! DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT I HAVE FUN WAITING ON THE FOR FOR HOURS TRYING TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM!? NO THANKS, I HAVE A LIFE. The problem was still not solved so I phone again and the lady said that our box was broken and we have to replace it. They wanted me to take the box into a rogers store and switch it but I didn't want to waste MORE time so I told them to have a tek guy come over and replace it... She said she could do that BUT there was a $50 charge! REALLY? I wasted so much time waiting for my phone call to be picked up, waiting for the tek guy to come, Arguing with him. I mean is it our fault they installed a broken box!? If I knew this was going to happen then I would've just kept my old box! If it's their fault, they should solve the problem, why should I go through all this? Is it that hard to just sent someone here to replace the box? Now the internet.. I don't even have any words to describe my experience with that. It's extremely slow, sometimes to the point that it doesn't even work. I've called in multiple times and still no improvement. We pay for high-speed cable UNLIMITED. OUr bill comes out to well over 300 a month so is expected better service but Noo! I've never felt so much hatred in my life! Cell phones are extremely expensive. We have 3 in our family and they won't knock down the price. We are long time customers but still won't give us a discount. Why am I still at rogers? Oh Rogers...biggest SCAMMERS of your MONEY and your TIME!!! Im at the point where im taking this to to court! Consistently charge you beyond your monthly agreements and when you ask "how so much?!" ...expect to either be put on hold, explain your story 5x to 5 different imbeciles, who blame you for it, for about 2-3hrs...unless you get hung up on and have to start all over:) I cancelled ( $500 later..) my internet with Rogers in October2013 with Barry. After being reassured that my bills have been completely payed off, I get this magical bill for $175 in feb 2014...for a "cable bill" I never payed, when I never had cable tv services! I get put on hold to fix the matter...and they hang up on me. Called again, was put on hold after explaining myself, hung up again. Finally, (early march) I spoke to Kayla, who assured me that it was their mistake, and would remove this random bill. Yay! But since Kayla wasn't authorized to do so, she had to wait for her supervisor to get back from "lunch." Kayla PROMISED+NOTED that she would call me back every 1/2 hr until she got a hold of me to resolve this issue...never happened...i called back and was told to wait, she will call...it's been over a month! Today(may2), I speak to manager, mike...made it even WORSE..Told me I need to pay it,along with an unpaid phone bill from last year?!?! ( I paid over $370 to cancel my phone lol) FALSE. plus an additional $200 for the supposed 6 mth free cable, phone, Internet in my new condo building. And was condescending towards me. I use Rogers for cable, internet and home phone service. For cable, the new PVR boxes need to re-boot way too many times, sometimes a few times a day. This interferes with the PVR recordings and anything you may be watching. I have one remote box that loses connectivity with the head PVR every few weeks. For internet, I've used wifi for years. Just recently, I've been losing signal many times per day. The worst is nights after 11pm. Rogers tells me that it's interference from an outside source. Oddly, since I upgraded to the newest router, it doesn't happen anymore. Coincidence? For home phone, they gave me a deal at $9.99 per month for 18 months which is great. Problem is that they keep billing me $39.99 per. For 3 months running I've had to deal with billing to fix it. I've learned that, when calling for customer service, immediately ask that your call be escalated to a next level manager. The first level agents, while trying hard and are generally polite, have no pull. It has generally taken me almost an hour to get to the next level though. Once I get them, they are much more effective. I've used Bell and Rogers and consider Rogers to be the lesser evil. At some point, I'm sure I'll move to smaller, more diverse providers. read more

i had been a Rogers client for 10 plus years, and I consider myself to have been a sucker to have stayed so long. Every time I dealt with their customer service, i was angrier then before I dealt with them. Their billing practices are horrible, and they start their collection calls the moment you go over their due cycle by a second. They start harassing you non stop. No other vendor treated me as poorly as they did. I got an ipad with a data plan, and tried to add it to my account, it was MORE expensive to add it than to start a new account. When I decided to turn it off, they forced me into an additional month, but I pulled the sim card and went to Bell. Mysteriously, that month I was charged a full service fee vs minimum usage fee, when the sim was not even in my tablet!!!! But I paid the fee rather than face their disgusting customer service practices. If there were ever a need to break up these terrible telco's from Oligopoly control its now. Stay away from Rogers. Their service department is run by incompetents. I have been on the phone weekly to correct their mistakes. I get charged for I installation fees meanwhile no technician ever came to my house and I have had my service with them for 17 long and miserable years. They add packages on my bill that I never asked for and then also over charge my phone bill for services that I don't have. If I add up all the times that I have called, been on hold and received pathetic customer support, I have easily wasted years of my life with this sad excuse for a company. The customer service representatives have a huge 'I don't care' attitude, especially when it comes to billing issues. Prices and package is very misleading and there are always over billed items.. I have all of my services and never had a problem until I checked my cell phone bill and I have over $600 in data charges! I was so mad because I knew I didn't use that much, I never received a text that I went over my limit. Also, I had a$300 limit on my account so my bill couldn't go very high before my phone was cut off. But sure enough, I was staring at a $600 phone bill. I called and spoke to someone on the phone who was very nice and gave me a $50 credit and that's all he could do. So I used their live chat and the person told me I needed to give them $50 to reactivate my account, I asked if the $50 credit would help and they said no the need another $50..?! Long story short, I switched plans and ended up paying the $600. I never actually got to see where the charges came from but I was told it was data charge .. Weird. read more

I had been with Rogers as a customer for many years. I was one of those people who signed up, and just stuck with the contract; I didn't move, I didn't shop around for something new, I was satisfied with the service provided (the actual delivery of internet), and couldn't be bothered. Until recently, I had to reach out to them via the phone to cancel my services with them as I was moving. At the same time, I signed up for more Rogers internet with a very nice sales person in reality (Surprise right? When you're purchasing a product in person, they are readily reachable and can offer you all kinds of perks. But you can't cancel services with the person you sold you the services). So I called last Tuesday afternoon; and as soon as I was connected, they informed me the wait time will be about an hour; and that I can receive a call back. Oh, okay, fine. I signed up for the call back. - Nothing. Wednesday afternoon: Try again, this time, I waited. I allotted a good 30 minutes to Rogers because I have other things to do with my time after work. I had to hang up. Thursday mid-noon: (Because, hey, maybe it's my fault to call during normal, expected, tracked, peak times right?) Another hour of wait. Wow. I tried again Saturday, and Sunday; both with abhorrently long wait times.I don't have hours of weekend free time for Rogers; especially since I had already been robbed of hours of my free time prior to this. So, my most recent, and only successful attempt: TUESDAY, MORNING, 08:04 AM EST time. -- Yes, I timed it to be 4 minutes AFTER their "cancelation department" will start their shift. The automated machine finally told me the wait time would be 1 to 2 minutes, because it is a TUESDAY MORNING AT 08:04 AM. The LEAST busy possible time I can imagine. 15 minutes. I still waited 15 minutes. It may sound petty that I am complaining about the 15 minutes of wait time. But please, recall all the other hours that I had invested into this company. But please, it is a TUESDAY MORNING at 08:04 AM. So, in anger, I cancelled both services; the one I had for years (65$ just home internet), and the one I recently signed up for (115$ a month! cable + internet). -- The agent didn't even sound sorry that I was leaving, which I understood, because even they know Rogers is a smelly piece of foul bodily discharges. Who will take your money with mediocre deals, and your time and energy (like pulling tooth) when you reach out to them. Then I wrote an email to their customer service department, explaining all of the above -- Hey, this time they did reply within the same business day! -- Their explanation is as follows: "I am sorry to hear that you had some trouble with hold times recently. We have been busier than usual and I can certainly understand the frustration. We do actually do all of the things you suggested in your email; recently, we have had more calls than expected and there are always concerns with agents not arriving when expected. These issues combine to make it extremely difficult to accurately predict the needed numbers of agents." This is what it sounds like to me: 1. We are a multimillion dollar corporation, but we are busier than we thought? (I hope you'll stop being busy.) 2. We treat our staff like how we treat our customers (bodily discharge), therefore, our staffing levels are consistently low, with talent retention problems, even on multiple, nice, May weekdays + weekends, they still don't go into work in droves! 3. It is "extremely difficult" to predict the needed number of agents, because you can NEVER have "TOO MANY" agents, because the idea of not over working your staff, so that they can service customers in a timely and professional manner, is very, very difficult, for a corporation that's been operational for many decades. 4. They do not track their peak operational times/staffing levels properly (I swear, data analysis is a very real industry, please use their services), and therefore, consistently make poor estimates, and hey; they enjoy robbing hours of your time; whether or not you are a loyal/current/potential customer. I do have very good news to share though; One of their competitors, whose name start with a V, who is a subsidiary company of a company that starts with a B, offers fantastic, FIBRE OPTICS, internet services in the Southern Ontario region. How do I know? I cannot be happier about: NO ACTIVATION FEES, NO MODEM FEES, NO CONTRACT for 30$ A MONTH. Here's the best part: UNLIMITED usage. And can it get even better? YES. At 50mbps download speeds. So, Rogers, enabled me to shop around! And I found something that's overwhelmingly better, significantly better service interaction; and just, wow, it IS possible for Internet Service providers to treat customers like, customers! P.S.: The V company? I contacted them via phone, I talked to a live agent, on a Tuesday afternoon, within 10 minutes of being on hold. The FIRST and ONLY call I had to make to them. read more

We installed Rogers services a year ago. Everything including home monitoring. The litany of problems would take at least 50 pages. I have spent hundreds of hours on hold with customer service. Half the time they hang up on you or transfer you to another number that is a dead line. The other half they send a tech who tries a bunch of fixes and it works for an hour or two, then quits. Tonight while 40 minutes into an ROD show, the cable box rebooted. Once back on, the picture quality was terrible, and of course if I wanted to watch the rest of the show I had to start over at the beginning. So I started watching handmaids tale. When I finally got put through to an agent she offered me a worse deal than I was offered before and by that point I just took it because I had to get off the phone to get back to my very busy 3 year old. This company is terrible. I switched my services after being with Rogers for a while because their reception was terrible where I live. I basically got no reception at all. My last bill was $3.83 and they charged me an additional $25 claiming my pre-authorized payment didn't go through. I will never get any services with Rogers again. read more

The worst customer service I've ever experienced. Very aggressive agents. Each time you call you get a different answer to the same question. I ordered a SIM and they told me that if I don't insert it I don't get billed, but they actually billed me before I insert it. I asked for a call audit. In relation to Rogers as an internet service provider in the GTA: I was only getting a fraction of the internet speed that I was paying for, and have multiple screenshots of myself getting less than 5 MBps in download speed. This meant that internet was very patchy in my place, and sometimes I couldn't even access a basic website. I called Rogers and asked them to service my internet, so they sent someone out. When the service person arrived, they said that our internet speed was fine according to their "Roger's tools" even though I was showing them a third party internet speed test that proved otherwise. They ultimately ended up leaving my house without improving anything. It wasn't until I called to cancel my internet that Roger's admitted that our modem was "pretty outdated," and that they were able to offer almost triple the internet speed and a new modem at 2/3 of the price I was paying. I ended up switching ISP's because I felt like their customer service wasn't getting to the heart of the issue. We weren't getting anywhere close to the internet speeds that our plan advertised. read more

I went into a rogers store store yesterday and received poor service. I called Rogers CHATR to voice my complaint and explain my problem. "The problem being: that the location I visited had no stock of chatr sim cards in february when they were free as well as activation; but neglected to tell me that it was a time sensitive promotion or I would simply have gone to location that had stock available that day. A couple of days later I went on vacation for a month and when I returned last week I went in to get my wife's phone switched from VIRGIN over to CHATR. Again they had no sim cards in stock but now they wanted to charge for it. None of the staff would admit to having misinformed me by omission nor would they satisfy my request due to this circumstance." When I explained this to the Rogers chatr rep on the phone they were only willing to provide a sim card no charge but not the activation. This is very poor service in my estimation. read more

So here's a story about Roger's. Long time customer faithful as well . My phone got ported a few days ago and shit storm started from it , now because Roger's did not have enough security measures in place my personal info was taking and they were able to access alot more of my stuff including my bank . I spent hours on the phone with them today and they were not at all help full . They assured me it wouldnt happen agian because the proper measures are in place now . Like wtf why werent they in place to begin with . Now I'm locked In a contract and can not leave if I wanted to . Keep in mind that I have had to get the cops involved etc this has been hell in me . I talked to a manager today out of kitchener ontario who said they couldn't do any things for me . No credits not even a free upgrade on my phone . Absolute worst service i have ever experience. Rip off! Rogers know how to keep billing you double the amount and not provide the service. Worst customer service on the planet! All I want to do is view my bill online (which was much higher than expected) but i couldn't see it because my bill "would not be available for viewing until 10/10", well it was 10/15 and it wasn't there. Que the live chat headaches. First off, I had to be transferred to the Rogers small business chat since apparently being in the small business portal isn't how you get to the small business live chat. So after about 15 minutes of waiting to finally speak to someone, I get transferred. The guy helping me said on my account I had it set to receive bills by mail (which I 100% didn't) and said he could change that for me so I could see my NEXT bill online and that he can email my current bill to me in the next 2-4 DAYS. I actually couldn't believe what I was seeing. He would ignore me when i said I in fact do have online billing since the bills get EMAILED to me and provides a link to view online. He just kept saying he would email me my bills. He would go on to ignore everything else I said to then ask me if there's anything else he can help me with. I proceeded to tell him how terrible rogers customer service is and what I thought about the company as a whole which he did not respond to. I can not remember the last time i was this pissed off with a cell phone company. After a number of drop calls and poor reception I called these guys and i had to wait 1hr and 13 m on hold, the automated attendant told me. The good news was that my call was dropped 10 min into the call. After an estimated 100 calls being dropped and I called them again and the auto attended said my wait time would be approx. 14-20 minutes I finally got some idiot on the phone after 57 mins. Rogers has a responsibility to provide a quality product for the crazy rates they charge (no thanks to CRTC). Intern we pay our bills. Yet they do not have to do anything and we still have to pay our bills. I asked to cancel my contract but was told i would have to pay the cancellation fee to do. So rogers can provide a crappy service and yet i still have to pay my bill and pay a cancellation fee to leave them. THIS IS A JOKE. My WIND phone is 10x better than Rogers and is a fraction of the cost read more

Just had a terrible experience with Rogers. I noticed some channels were black. A tech came to the house and explained I need to get a new cable. They do not fish cables behind walls; I have to hire an electrician. My cable is only three years old so very odd. When tech was here something happened to my PVR - it started to record phantom material. I finally noticed and rebooted but my hard drive went from 40% full to 90% full with no additional visible content. I called Rogers again and the same tech came back and assured me it was my problem, he didn't do anything. The tech was willing to replace the PVR until I told him I owned it, so then he said, nothing he could do. Not sure why they have techs at all since I am left to solve both problems. read more

I work in a call center myself and I know that this the level of service that they have is poor to the point of failure. In the past 3 days, I have been struggling with a very slow Internet. When I contacted Rogers Internet support, the technician went all out, to see if my neighbors had the same problem. Rogers internet and customer service is beyond repair. Constantly having troubleshooting problems that down my entire internet. Not to include that the customer service has no clue why your internet is behaving in such a way. Instead they just send a random technician to reboot the system and expect that it's all fixed. Luckily for rogers the area I live in must be on a rogers home internet plan, since bell doesn't reach my area. I strongly encourage people to think twice before going on a rogers plan unless you want to have the most unreliable and poor internet service out there. read more

I'm an American, I don't have any services with Rogers communications (CANADIAN CABLE COMPANY). They keep on charging my credit card, which is activating foreign currency fees. I've tried disputing them and they keep on coming. All my attempts to reach them, have resulted on me being kept on hold for hours. I was a Rogers customer since 2005 and I always use their best package which worth $100 a month. Never missed a payment. One day in 2015 I suddenly found out my phone stopped working. I use my phone for business so it is very important for me. I called customer service and they told me that they gave my number to somebody else. WTF! It doesn't matter if it was a mistake or misundestanding. They wouldnt admit its their fault and told me it took a few days to recover the number. The customer service asked me to get a temporary sim card (pay as u go) from rogers and they can reimburse me the cost after they recover my original number. So I did. After one week, phone finally worked but call them for reimbursement, refused. Saying only give me $10 dollar credit. WTF. I dont even care about the fuckinv $10 dollars but rogers treat their customers like piece of shit. Zero respecy zero care. Even been with them for 10 years but wont compensate for their mistake caused me huge. Whatever I know they r a big company and wont give a shit to me. But just let you know if you choose to go with them you may face the same situation one day. Good luck I would give a negative star if theres the option. read more

Rogers has to be the worse ever, this people are patheric, dispicable, bunch of morons, they never listen, they never hear us, i can go on for ever. let me tell you my latest incident with rogers. I paid my bill in january as allways on time, in february i received my bill again , stating i never paid my january bill, they argued with me, and I am holding my bank statemen with my payment taken out, as they say,..we have not received it/ to the bank the next day, i have paid someone elses account, dont know how, no matter called them back, the refuse to transfer the money from the wrong account to mine,..would you belive,..even after they said soon as i find out where the money went to,...no problem. Its been a month, they still refuse to transfer. I am tsaking them to court, no one at rogers has any people skills, or care about anything, if you say things they dont like, they protend there is something wrong with the phone, no morals whats so ever. My plan started 35.00 is now 90.00, i was supose to get 15 procent off my bill, never hapen, every time i ask, they brush me off, or hang up the phone on me. read more

Worst company ever! I am with Rogers and they almost always over-charging you every month. I agree with Diane about "its your word against theirs." It seems like customers are dealing with a lot of people like that nowadays in the retail service. One reason why I hate shopping nowadays is rude stuff and would rather do online service. Even though they do provide that at Rogers, its terrible~! I totally dislike rogers and someone should do a petition to get them out of here! I don't want to waste anymore time reading ads from such a stupid company. I'm on a student plan and yet they charged me for texting every month and won't let me drop the three year contract so now i'm on a slump! Until recently when I found Wind for 15/month plan with free text and incoming/outcoming calls I immediately paid them the 300.00 to leave Rogers and switched to them. So instead of having a nasty Crackberry (blackberry) I now own an iphone 4s with no contract and the best thing is I LITERLALY pay 15.00/month and am loving the service at Wind! read more

Horrible Customer service and total disregard for contracts from their own end. I have been with Rogers for more than a decade.I had a 3yr term with rogers, bundling my Internet and cable.All of a sudden, Rogers decided to convert some of the channels that I was getting as part of my package to paid channels, and a few more were moved to speciality packages like the News package and the sports package.When I signed up for a contract, these channels were part of regular basic cable.Now Rogers says that I have to pay for them.When I threaten to cancel my subscription, Rogers says that I will be penalized for cancelling my contract. So, now, not only am I not getting the channels I signed up for, but I cannot even get rid of Rogers without being penalized. So, Rogers can change parts of the contract whenever they want, but I as a paying customer cannot do anything, but sulk. read more

July 29, 2012 I Call Rogers Wanting To Confirm That They Will Be Out On Tuesday July 31, 2012 and WOW (A NIGHTMARE That Was) Because I Wouldnt Except That They Couldnt Take Their Service From My Home Until 60 Days Notice (Argued With The Guy For About Half Hour) , I Asked To Speak To A Manager. Waited On Hold For About 20 Minutes, Then A Manager Comes On (Now At This Time Im Alittle Ticked Because Of The 60 Day Thing) And Asks Me How He Can Help. I Told Him That I Wanted My Services With ROGERS COMPLETELY GONE FROM MY PLACE (Yes Im Sure I Sounded Pretty Upset) He Then Goes On From There To Verify Who I Am Again On The Acct (My Acct Is In My Wifes Name And Im Also Stated On It To Be Allowed Access To Everything) When He Notices That The Acct Is NOT Under My Name, He States He Cant Even Talk To Me And I Have No Right To Call In And Cancel Anything LMFAO (GLOVES OFF AT THIS POINT) Being A Smart Ass Rude Mutha, I Put My Wife On The Phone And She Asks Them What Their Problem Is When All The Yrs We Have Been With ROGERS I DEAL WITH EVERYTHING And MANY TIMES During The Yrs Shes Had To TELL THEM OVER AND OVER AGAIN TO MAKE SURE IM ON THE FILE. She Then Goes On To Tell Them That She Agrees With My And Wants The SERVICES GONE and then hands me the phone! Now Once The Manager Hears Me Back On The Phone Telling Him "YOU JUST HEARD THE OWNER OF THE ACCT MR SMART ASS, SO MAKE SURE YOUR GARBAGE IS OUT OF MY HOUSE, He Goes On To Say He's Not Going To Do Anything! When I Heard Those Word I SNAPPED SAID SOME SHIT TO HIM Then Hung Up! I Call Back A Few Hours Later And Get My Wife To Talk To Them, And Yet They Still Give Her A HARD TIME WTF!!!!!!!! It Took Us 2 1/2 Hours To END ROGERS and Had To Agree That We Would Pay For Another Month Since We Have To Give Them 30 Days Notice (OHHHHHHH LOOK Went From 60 Days To 30 Days Notice, Talk About BULLSHIT)!
