Quite honestly I should do another review once I've been here for a show or another event, but I came to check out the Iron Foot Place mosaic in Ford Hall and was rather happy with it. I'm glad that the arena meant some new public art. As for how it does as an entertainment venue, that remains to be seen for me, but I'm cautiously optimistic! read more

Rogers Place - Great seats for the Canada vs Russia game! - Stadiums & Arenas Near Me - Edmonton, Alberta

Rogers Place is a great addition to Edmonton's Core. The building is very modern. Within it is a hockey arena for the NHL as well as a Casino, upscale restaurants and bars. Rogers is located near the lrt station if you want to catch a hockey game and have a few drinks! The seating in Rogers is comfortable but can be a bit cramped in certain areas of the Arena so make sure you book good seats! While a game is playing Parking around Rogers Arena gets a tad pricey. If you are sitting at a LOGE table to watch the game a good tip is to start a tab. If you do not you will be charge an extra service charge per drink instead of per tab! read more

As a lifelong Edmontonian and an alumni of Northlands I was a bit worried about Rogers Place as the new downtown stadium and the home of my Oilers. It turned out pretty good. It's big. Lots of washrooms. Good signage. Great seats, from the front row against the glass to those halfway up. (I haven't done the nosebleeds yet.) I did get a couple of chances to enjoy the box seats (and accompanying food) and those were satisfying too. Fun food selection, including my super-favorite, the perogy bowl! It's worth walking around to see all your food options. Lots of caesars and beers available. Happy hunting! read more

Meh.... It's an arena. You pay an arm and a leg for event tickets then you pay thru the nose for a beer and a slice of pizza. You quickly will learn why Katz is one of the richest men in Canada. Also, there is very much a two tier system in place here amongst the patrons. Those in the lower bowl will have a much different experience than those in the upper bowl with the lower half having better food choices, more room, more amenities. Its sort of like the haves and the have-nots. But either way, you are going to wait in line to go to the washroom regardless what level you are on. Oh, and if you are in the upper bowl, the pitch is really steep, be careful descending the stairs if you've had a few to drink. read more

Beautiful building, great sightlines. Too expensive, but what do you expect from a major league arena? read more

Having now visited 26/30 NHL Arenas (27/31 if you count Las Vegas where I saw the Kings play pre-season 2016-2017) I can honestly say this place raises the bar a notch, everything from the Oildrop shape stretching over the streets below to the countless murals, wide concourses and hall of honor featuring all-5 Stanley Cups well designed and brightly lit. Add in a great sound-system, perfect sight-lines and seats that seem to have a little more room plus a franchise rejuvenated by McDavid and this is as good as NHL Hockey gets in 2017. read more

Fantastic building. Great sight lines from everywhere. Comfortable seats. Good food and drink selection. F&B prices are brutal though. Have enjoyed every event I've been here for, from the fan open house, to hockey games, the UFC, and concerts. Glad the city council got it right when they moved forward with this project. read more

Rogers Place - Stadiums & Arenas Near Me - Edmonton, Alberta

What can I say....WELL DONE EDMONTON!!! Not only did we need a new arena we needed to revolutionize the downtown. The building did both with the style and grace of a team that deserved to be in the playoffs. When I drive downtown I look for the skyline and it still catches my breath. The food is what I expected but has a few more options for the hungry Albertan belly and makes the average hockey fan feel a little classier. I have had a few different options so far but know I need to venture out of my comfort zone a little more so I will leave the finer points to more specialized yelper. The decor, the stores and the fans keep my ponytail spinning until I get to one of the many amazing seats we have tried. At that point the Oilers do us proud with their physical game and playbook without a doubt. These plays and players can be seen from every angle without leaving the fans wanting more for their money. I can understand if the architect made a lot of money from this one as he or she deserves it!! GO OILERS GO!!! read more

I mean... it's nice, that's for sure. And it seems to be HUGE. But it's hard to get passed the food and drink prices. And the quality just isn't there to justify it. I can't really speak to the seats or sightlines because when I was there, I was in the very front row, where there was plenty of leg room, I didn't feel cramped and I had a great view. The sound quality was excellent. I could actually understand the announcements being made on the overhead speaker! I'm impressed overall, and I can't wait to see more shows/games here! read more

Getting into the facility was not fun. You were rushed and pressured to move trying to empty pockets for the metal detectors. Price for food and drinks is OUTRAGEOUS. Seats in the upper bowl are extremely steep, very dangerous, and squished together like sardines. The worst part is trying to get out. The escalators are small and narrow and you have to stand in line for over 30 min just to get down. If you choose to take the stairs, you can get to the main concourse quicker, but it will take you just as long to get out of the building. There are not enough entrances/exits for the amount of people in the building. If there is an emergency in this building, such as a fire, it will be a terrible tragedy with many deaths, I'm sure. read more

Great new arena, beautiful inside. The food selections are not as good as I had hoped for and there are far more over priced beer stations than there are places to get food. The lines for food are not super long but the service seems to be a lot slower than necessary. Different food locations all serve different food so if you wan't something in particular you may need to wander around to the other side of the building if you want something specific. Views from the seats are very good and the main halls are nice and wide so exiting the building after a busy event is far easier than the old building. Parking in the area is great and there is far less traffic congestion after a busy event because some stay in the area after the event and parking is spread out amongst many parking lots so you don't get the bottleneck that happened trying to exit onto Gretzky drive. read more

Wow! Epic. Extremely well done concept, drinks high exorbitantly high & I'm not sure why. Love beautiful well thought out, well constructed designer event space. read more

What an amazing arena! I've read a lot about the lack of parking but I don't find it to be accurate because I park at the library and walk in. It's $10 and about 4 blocks away. I went to the most recent game where the oilers lost which sucked but the views were great and the atmosphere is electric. I went to the game a little early to grab dinner and got the brisket sandwich from the little bbq kiosk, it tasted oddly like food poisoning. The meat was barely room temperature.... yikes. But I was hungry and i didn't get sick, so a pass I guess. I'm not concerned about the prices of anything because it seems to keep the lineups a reasonable length, overall a really exciting place to be that's only gonna get better as they workout the kinks and ice district fills up! read more

Rogers Place is a really beautiful arena, and is pretty easy to get to since it's right downtown and is super accessible by the LRT. Obviously there is no parking downtown so you may have to pay for parking at a near by lot and then walk a little bit. Our seats were in the upper bowl, and it's a little strange that you don't get something simple like cup holders when you're in the higher up seats.... do we really have to pay more on tickets just to have a cup holder?? The layout of the arena is great so there really aren't any bad views whether it's a hockey game, concert, or some other event, you'll always be able to see the main event. For food and drink concession, as always, it's crazy expensive. A 20oz beer is $12.25 and the smaller beers are only a few cents cheaper. They do have some specialty foods on top of your basic pizza, hotdogs, nachos etc. I've never had any of the more specialty stuff mostly because of how expensive it is. Overall I had a nice experience at Rogers Place and I'm sure I'll be back for another event in the future. read more

Rogers Place - Stadiums & Arenas Near Me - Edmonton, Alberta

I have been here two nights in a row for Justin Timberlake's concert. I went to the main ticketing booth had to wait for 15 mins because they can't find my tickets. They apologized and it is not a big deal at all, just thought it was disorganized. Security going in and at the event was visible and tight which is a good thing. Bathrooms are scattered around the arena and the ones I have used were clean. The thing I did not like are the food selections. They are way overpriced for the servings and taste. I get that food prices at such places are steep but at least make the food or servings reasonable. I got a chicken tenders meal for $15 which looks like a kids meal - three tiny pieces of tenders that were smaller than McD's nuggets. My mom got a burger meal for $13 I think - the regular burger at McD tasted better. Everything was fine, only the food was a let down. read more

Went to Michael Buble concert. We ordered 2 hotdogs and small chicken tenders. Hot dogs were okay, although buns were a little soggy. The chicken tenders were large order (and yes, we were charged for the large choice even though we didn't order them). Were supposed to come with tater tots but came with potato chips. The chicken tenders were warm(ish) and soggy. We had asked for Thai sauce but apparently they were out, so we were given BBQ sauce. read more

Rogers place is nice. Having a million bars is a great improvement. The seating is better. Some of the art is great. I did discover Panda parking, so for a few bucks parking isn't too bad.The problems though make it a 2.5 out of 5. Everything is way overpriced. The no re-entry is shit! Why build a district with a casino, bars and shit but not let people come and go! Some of the place seems bare and has a feel of a hospital! All in all it is nice but it just seems like the Katz group is now just printing money. read more

As a neighbour, but a broke neighbour, I finally got to check out the arena for Tuesday's night oilers game thanks to free work seat tickets :) Wow. It's more gorgeous than I expected from seeing pictures! Great job!! The huge score board was fantastic. We were only 20'ish rows off the ice and I still found myself watching the game from the mesmerizing scoreboard screen lol! All of the staff I encountered were extremely friendly! I also found the food and drinks to be on par with most nhl venues. The only downside at all was the exits. They aren't very many it seems... Great job PCL! Proud to be your neighbour, Rogers place ! read more

Justin Timberlake concert was the shits . Terrible sound .Opening act sucked Definitely not worth the money

I went to my first event at Rogers Place last night. It was a wonderful concert with great seats! I'm giving this review 5 stars because I was able to experience the concert from a private box and the whole experience was amazing! There was a ton of food with a variety to choose from all night long for me and my friends and it was easy to view the stage from any seat. Also no lineup for the bathrooms!! The staff definitely made you feel like a VIP and having box seats really elevated the whole experience to another level! If you're going with a group of people to celebrate a special event I would highly recommend this experience! read more

Excellent signposting! There is no way you get lost in the facility; emergency exits, emergency lights, washrooms, food and drinks, elevators and stairs, all is clear! Four times so far in Rogers Place and already have tickets for two concerts, one in the summer, one in the fall! Lower lever seats experience - seats are wonderful, they are new, on each seat you have a cup holder, enough room to let pass people while you are seated. Upper lever seats experience - seats are fine, not super comfortable but not bad, no cup holder so watch out if you leave your drink on the floor as you can kick it, rows are tight so it's better if you stand up to let people pass. Watch out when your team scores or when the group you went to see start singing you favorite song as you may want to jump, why? because you may loose your balance and fall on to the people in the row in front of you and as that may cause that person to fall into the next row! That happened to me at the end of the third period of Game 4 -Oilers vs Anaheim! You have been warned! Why not 5 stars? Well same as my fellow Yelpers! PRICE! 5.50 + GST for an slice of burned pizza? really? Perogies $12? Caesar 9? Enjoy your visit to the arena, have fun and put your garbage in the garbage bin, don't leave it under your seat. read more

Rogers Place - Getting ready for Dolly Parton! - Stadiums & Arenas Near Me - Edmonton, Alberta

I'm been waiting to post this rant so here we go, everything below is sadly true. It's a shame that you can't tap on the glass like every other NHL arena, i got kicked out with no warning for hitting the glass. The fact that it was an ejection without warning as the security guard claimed I knew why is nothing short of pathetic. Why would I keep doing it if I was told not too???Even in a previous game in Rogers place and some in Rexall this never happened. On the other hand the man behind my friend out of no where yanked her hoodie back to tell her she was leaning too back, she then said sorry and the guy kept calling her names. We told the security guard who was kicking me out and he said oh you should have complained about it. My friend said, I'm complaining about it now and the security guard did nothing. I'm getting kicked out for tapping the glass , but a man pulling on a woman's hoodie and calling her nasty names is Ok? I'm absolutely disgusted, this is NOT OK!!!!! read more

Nice, new building. Haven't been there yet when it's jammed to the rafters, but what I've seen so far is good. Parking is horrible, but if you go on an evening/weekend you can take the LRT easily from Century Park (Metro Line) and be dropped off right behind the building with easy access. The prices are ridiculously high inside, for meh food, so of course they make sure you can't bring anything in with you and have to buy things there. Make sure to eat before you get there. They don't have enough washrooms, of course and the seating is very steep, which can make things difficult for those with movement issues. Not a bad facility, but could have used some better planning. read more

I went for a concert. We were lucky enough to find a coveted free parking spot. The line-up for the washroom before the concert was long. I think there were 7 stalls. That is ridiculous! I was glad I waited as the second bowl seats are very steep and I felt a little uncomfortable. It is a nice looking building and definitely a draw for downtown. The price for food and drinks means that I will not be par-taking. My husband enjoys the scoreboard. read more

Rogers Place - It was so exciting!!! - Stadiums & Arenas Near Me - Edmonton, Alberta

I went to Rodgers place now twice. Everytime I went I felt like I was entering an airport and the staff are terrifying. It is not a good experience walking in and going through a metal detector. The place is massive and very nice and new. I can see it getting run down very quickly. Seems like it was built too quickly. There are massive escalators which one was down and people had to walk up and down them. There's no alternative stairs anywhere that I could see. But we made it in and found our seats to the best of our ability. My first time was for a show. It was a cool show but the seats were to the very side of the stage so we had to walk into one section and go through the seats to our section. The place has good sound and decent views. Intermission was pleasent because we were in the lower bowl so we had a massive food area to go to. Wholly smokies food was expensive. And beer was double. Service was ok and the place smelled of dirty onions. Food was alright but I'd recommend the hot dog. Outside of that it was a good show. Experience was slightly less nastalgic than Recall... I'll miss that place. Rogers is ok but less free parking and the casino attached to it is horrible. I'll go back because there's no other choice for big events. read more

Rogers Place - After the show - Stadiums & Arenas Near Me - Edmonton, Alberta

My first time in the new place... Beautiful facility! Excellent service! Stores and vendors are well set up and have a great range of products. Delish food options! I like that I can get a virgin Caesar at a game and am not just limited to pop, beer or water. Not sure who the credit goes to, but watching the Oilers' away play-off game for $5 with the Orange Crush crowd on the big screens at Roger's Place was a brilliant idea!!! Fantastic evening! read more

Excellent venue with lots of food selection. Gave a four star because the lack of men's bathrooms and super long line ups to go to the bathroom really suck. If you want to beat the line you have to leave before the period ends and if you wait for the period to end, chances are you won't be back in your seat before the period starts. read more

Wow! What a beautiful arena, inside and outside! You from the outside (not sure the intersection), you can see their control room, it's pretty cool! There were tons of food options, from your typical arena food to sushi and roast beef sandwiches. Lots of beer options as well! They even have Belgian Moon on tap! There were many locations serving food and beverages. They also had tons of hawkers selling canned beers and popcorn! There were also many merchandise stores selling team swag! The seats were very comfortable and didn't feel tight at all! I was fortunate enough to sit pretty close and it was awesome. The sound from their speakers sounded a tad muffled though. If you ever get a chance to check this place out, DO IT! read more

Good service, at hockey games and other events I go to here it is always very clean. Amazing Place. read more

Beautiful arena. Huge. However... I expected way better considering what the thing cost to build. Food is mostly gross and incredibly expensive. Not many places to sit down and eat. The bathrooms I expected to be much larger especially taking into account the amount of people visiting at any one time whether it is a show or a hockey game. Parking is expensive and not very accessible. Trying to get in or out in a vehicle is laughable. The seating in the arena is very uncomfortable. I felt like a sardine. The walk ways are a joke. Very steep and narrow. What if there was an emergency or something. Countless people would be injured just trying to get out. I couldn't even get out to go to the bathroom at intermission. There were many people, ladies and gentleman alike who gave up on waiting for the facilities because the line ups were just too long. I am not ruling out go here again but I am definitely disappointed. read more

Kind of a circus, and a little overwhelming. Everything is incredibly expensive, and I've had an easier time getting through airport security than trying to get to my seats for a game. read more

It's pretty amazing to see in person. It's the newest hottest thing around. That being said, make sure you use the bathroom and get something to eat on your way as the lines for the washrooms are absolutely massive. I get it.. same issue everywhere, but I've never seen the mens washrooms lineup so long in my life. I also think they missed the boat on beers and food. It's the same old crap that there was at Rexal place. Would have loved to have seen some local monthly pop up restaurants or some local beers instead of pizza and coors light. read more

I want to start by saying that the arena is extremely nice and maintained really well. I had a really bad experience here on Thursday, July 26th, 2017 at the Ed Sheeran concert. I'm a huge Ed Sheeran fan and have been looking forward to the concert for months. I took the afternoon off from work and drove to Edmonton from Calgary. We were seated in Section 113 Row 8 and before the show even began my cousin, brother and I could hear the women who were sitting behind us talking about us very rudely. We tried to ignore them and just enjoy the evening. Once Ed Sheeran came on stage, we stood up along with everyone else in the stadium and started cheering and dancing. During his second song, one of the women sitting behind us started yelling about us extremely loudly. She was being so disrespectful and hurtful. Then she proceeded to tap my cousin on the shoulder and said "are you going to be f***king standing the entire night?!" My cousin simply pointed out to them that everyone else was standing around us and we came to enjoy the concert. Then these women became extremely aggressive and started demanding that we give our seats up to them!!! Everyone in front of us and behind us were standing and dancing so what difference would it have even made? Either way, we tried to ignore them. These women then started kicking our seats, putting their feet up on the backs of our chairs, were kicking US, and yelling several obscenities and racial slurs at us. We said enough is enough and went to find a security guard. They were so disrespectful, aggressive and violent at this point that we did not feel comfortable being anywhere near them. The usher went back and forth and didn't really take it seriously but then a different lady came (I believe she was a manager) and relocated us. At this point we had missed quite a large chunk of the concert and literally our evening was ruined. While we are thankful that the manager relocated us, we couldn't believe that these racist people were permitted to remain in the concert. By allowing these people to stay it really shows that Rogers Place condones this type of negative behaviour. Thursday night was an extremely eye opening experience for me. I'm still shocked by the events that took place and can't believe we were bullied in such way over our race. We urge Rogers Place to change the procedures of how these situations are addressed. Racism and violence should not be tolerated and welcomed. I have tickets to another concert this upcoming Thursday night and I truly do not feel comfortable because I know if something like this were to ever re-occur, the staff at Rogers Place would not have my best interest and safety in mind. read more

Hot damn Edmonton has a nice new arena. My first visit to Rogers Place was for a concert, the lines were quick to move, the staff were friendly and helpful and there are lots of food and beverage options. We were in the club section so getting drinks was easy. I also appreciated the washrooms being located so close to the stairs when you exit the arena. I didn't try any of the food but the perogy bar looked tasty. Beautiful new building! read more

They over served the people sitting next to us at a concert. The people we beligerant and abusive. Spoke with security and they were "talked to" but allowed to remain in the arena and continue to drink and abuse the people sitting around them. At the end of the concert the husband and wife started to assault me. I'm talking thr husband was shoving me and the wife was punching me. Security didn't stop them. When I got away from this trashy couple security blew me off. Had to find a EPS officer to help me. I had video of the after math of the assault once I started recording the wife wasn't so tough but the husband kept threatening us. Again we were ignored by guest services and security.
