As far as a venue for the November Project, this place is great! That is what I was here for , so I am specifically reviewing for this type of event. Wednesdays are stair days, and turns out there is plenty to choose from!! The upper bowl provides smaller, steeper steps and the lower bowl provides longer shorter steps, better for those with a longer stride. The stadium is beautiful, with an incredible view of downtown. If you haven't been, it's worth trying out NP or going to an Esks game!! Thanks to the Commonwealth stadium for letting us use their facilities!

Well let's just say this place is amazing. I used to work here for 4 years and just love it the staff is amazing and very friendly. The seats are very well maintain and seemed to be taken cared. The stadium is very clean as well and just love spending time there. This was my first time being in here not working for my first football game and I loved it. Didnt help that it rained most of the time but I still enjoyed it. The staff is very friendly they helped me quite a bit to find my seats and be comfortable. The food is a bit to pricey for my liking 10 dollars for a very small drink a hot dog and a small bag of chips that's quite a bit I wish they brought that down a bit. That's why it didnt get a full on 5 stars but I still love it and cant wait to go back for a concert or a game. I might go there for their name game before the season is over!

    Great views from all angles!

The is stadium is worth every good review it gets! The seats, bathrooms and vendors are all ample with easy access. The seating allows for large crowds and so do the amenities! My personal favourite is the large speaker that carries music and announcements with ease no matter how loud the ROUGHRIDERS yell .

I am not the biggest sports person, I'll admit. I can't think of anything more dull than watching sports on TV. But I do enjoy a great LIVE sports game, so I was pretty excited for the FC Edmonton match against Toronto FC at Commonwealth. I got in a bit late because, silly me, I hadn't counted on parking costs, and duh, cash only. So a quick trip to the bank and back to the lot later, I was into Commonwealth. We were pretty high up, but at least we were sheltered. (It was a bit chilly that night!) Even being up high, we could still see all the action. Any exciting bits were featured on the screens to the side of the field. My hot dog was awesome (sorry, Karlie M - I don't know why they told you they didn't have any!) although it didn't not fill me up like I had hoped. Should've gone for the footlong! Tickets are a little bit steep for me to go too often, but it was a very fun evening. Thanks for having us, Commonwealth!

Been over 30 years since I have been here! It is ever enduring! Great venue! Everything is set up nicely. Yes...bathrooms, concessions, walk ways and seats. Sound system is great. The big screen is good (over saturated picture so color is not accurate.). Staff is friendly. Transportation to and from the stadium is good. (Leaving on the park and ride is hard to get to...needs to be rethought).

I'm early and ready to watch the game

I became a football fan after watching Edmonton Eskimos home game! From the outside you can tell that it is an old arena, but once you are inside I was in awe to see to huge stadium with fans very proud of their home team. Eskimos is very competitive. The seat is much better than Rexall and I will definitely watch another football game here! (besides it is the only one) Great experience!

The Commonwealth Stadium was built originally for the 1978 Commonwealth Games and the Queen with Prince Philip and their two sons were there to officially open the Games. The stadium is pretty big with seating for over 56,000 people. It is home to the Edmonton Eskimos football team of the Canadian Football League. I love coming to this stadium to watch the Eskimos play ball and have been watching them play for over 25 years. Over the years, the concession stand items have gotten better and the crowds have gotten bigger. I used to sit pretty high up in the stands and there weren't that many people around me. Now when I go to a game, I am surrounded by people. The more people the merrier. The crowds really do make the game more exciting. The only downside is that it takes so much longer to get out of the stadium when the game is over.

Yup, lots of concrete... 65,000 seats... Too many flags to count... and a helluva crowd of people that come out here to cheer on their team, to watch fantastic music concerts, to experience World Class Soccer... Edmonton rocks the world from this place!

TIckets were cheaper here than at Commonwealth, and it's because the venue isn't as nice. But it gets the job done - lots of seating, a big open grass space, plus they were selling pop and drinks, and hot dogs. Unfortunately, the wind-pocalypse hit in the first half and we booked it out of there before it got any worse. Because it's such an open venue, and it's raised up from the ground, you really feel the wind or sunshine or whatever weather you happen to be receiving at the moment. But the game was fun, the drinks kept us warm(ish), the crowd was enthusiastic, and Foote Field did its job.

My experience with Foote Field is based solely on attendance at FC Edmonton games…read more I guess this is a multi-purpose field for U of A students, and is definitely not soccer specific. This could be confusing as there are white, red, and blue lines on the field of play. There are two sections of seating; reserved on the west side and general admission on the east. Reserved is just regular seats and the GA side is raised up high school style bleachers. Trust me when I say the reserved side is much more comfortable, especially when there is adverse weather, like wind, or even when it's very sunny. There are actual bathrooms and concession counters on the west side, whereas on the east side there are four porta-potties and a Fat Franks stand (which is sweet), and dudes selling beer essentially out of an ice bucket. The GA side is also kind of up a hill a little bit, so while it doesn't seem like it when you're sitting there, you're a bit of a distance from the field compared to being on the other side. The field has your regular electronic scoreboard, but no huge TV for replays. I still find myself looking up for one, even though I know it's not there! You pick up your pre-bought tickets at the will call counter, or you can get tickets the day of. The box office isn't open on a regular basis as I understand it. There is tons of parking available and the LRT stops right beside the field. I suppose it will do for now, but Edmonton really needs a soccer specific stadium.

It's shaped as a giant block and painted a golden yellow. When I moved here, I saw it from a distance and thought it was an unfinished building with exposed inner walls. I always thought it looked like the inside of a Crunchie chocolate bar, a giant block of sponge toffee. Garish and giant as it is, it's a landmark, which is a good thing on a big campus, so many people have a love-hate relationship to it. It's right next to the sports hub of the university and it is used for big events, like concerts, sports meets, craft sales and also had an indoor climbing gym which is open to the public as well. I've been there on more than one occasion and it's a great place for a concert or just to use as a landmark when giving directions. Hard to miss a big block of butter...

I've been here to write exams over the years of my various degrees -- stressful and the desks aren't amazing either but this is a good use of the space. I've been here for at least one concert and it was a neat venue for this party! I've also really enjoyed watching/participating in sports activities here -- which is really the reason that the building exists, it having been constructed for the 1983 Universiade if I remember correctly. This is an essential facility for a University of this size. And while I do not visit it terribly frequently I think that it is still well used and in good shape for hosting the many events and activities that it does over the years!

I've been here over the years for Trappers games and more recently an Edmonton Prospects game. I've also been here for a party during the World's Masters Games (at which I was volunteering) and the field is a really neat concert venue as a result. It's perhaps not as big as a bigger ballpark but it is certainly very useable and useful. Having sat in box seats as well as in the regular stands I can appreciate both. The field is parking and transit accessible. I like to just walk down to it from downtown as it's a nice walk. While I'm not a huge fan of baseball, I will admit that one's enjoyment of a game here really has more to do with who one is with than the game itself for the most part. I think that the more dated aspects of the park would become renewed if we again had a higher league ball team playing here.
