The ESO was there to do all the music which was also amazing. I preordered drinks for the intermission, which I highly recommend if you are seeing anything here. On Canada Day, you can stay past the game to watch the fireworks. There is a concert .in between the two events. The food here is okay. It has switched to Remax field and I think that this is why the menu changed as well. There are fewer choices than before. I want to try to nacho poutine next time I am there. There are a variety of seats to choose from including lower bowl where you sit on field level, balcony seats, nose bleeds, and bleachers. I believe the field seats have a private bar and you can order your food instead of standing in line. We go to games as often as we can

I've been here over the years for Trappers games and more recently an Edmonton Prospects game. I've also been here for a party during the World's Masters Games (at which I was volunteering) and the field is a really neat concert venue as a result. It's perhaps not as big as a bigger ballpark but it is certainly very useable and useful. Having sat in box seats as well as in the regular stands I can appreciate both. The field is parking and transit accessible. I like to just walk down to it from downtown as it's a nice walk. While I'm not a huge fan of baseball, I will admit that one's enjoyment of a game here really has more to do with who one is with than the game itself for the most part. I think that the more dated aspects of the park would become renewed if we again had a higher league ball team playing here.

We split a huge burger and a very generous portion of truffle fries with dip, had a bevvy each, and a handful of tokens for just $35 Totally worth it on all fronts! Firstly, I love that Beercade is upbeat but has that pub feel. With the bar at the center of the venue, a raised stage at the back, arcade & pinball games on the other walls, and tons of seating throughout, the set up has a nice flow. There's also tons of big TVs with sports on! The staff are all super friendly and quick to get your order, bring your food & drinks, and to check in. Our server had a lot of knowledge on the menu - it's always nice when you're not trying to figure things out WITH the servers bc they have no clue. We split the Double Double burger (sans veggies cuz hubs isn't into it) which comes with two patties, 2 pieces of bacon, and two pieces of cheese on a brioche (maybe?) bun and house sauce. I'm not sure what the house sauce was, but I really liked it. I saw one other person review that it tasted like Big Mac sauce, but my husband won't go near that stuff and he devoured his half of the Double Double burger. The patties were thin and flavourful - just how I like mine! - and homemade The bacon was thin too, but it was all good cuz it covered more of your bites. The cheese? Cheesy I apologize for not knowing the type of bun that was used, but it's the kind that can sometimes be kind of waxy on the outside of the top half - that shiny kind - which this one thankfully was not! I thoroughly enjoyed each bite! Our burger was $6.25 They had tacos and other sandwiches as well, all which I look forward to trying in the future! Sides were on for $3.50 tonight - normal fries, tater tots, kettle chips, yam fries, and truffle fries. I still hadn't tried truffle fries ANYWHERE yet, so opted for this option YUMMAY!!! My husband said they smelled like the bottom of a mouldy foot, but I dunno... I found them SUPER flavourful and am all about that stinky food life (I didn't find them to be of a bad smell tho...) I got them with the lemon aioli (which I also haven't had before) and I looooooved this dip The dip was only $1 and came with enough to dip the whole serving of fries in. The serving was enough that three people could split it! Hubs got a fraught beer for $4. Some kind of bitter beers were on for $3, though neither of us tried it - not really beer people. They have a lot of pinball machines, as well as modern arcade games and some from previous decades for a throw back. I loved the Mario Kart game The crowd seemed about the 18-25 range, kind of the quiet type. Lots of different kinds of music played which was nice that they could kind of cater to everyone. For such a cheap date night, we'll definitely be back! I'm not one to spend $12 on a single burger when I make my own pretty same good at home, so I loved that we got a meal for two for the same price as a fast food place here tonight but with much superior quality. I think this is our new Thursday night spot! I get my yummy stinky fries and hubs gets to play a ton of arcade and pinball games. The chill vibe means you don't even have to get all supa fancy for a fun night out and everyone there seemed to be in pretty good spirits BEERCADE IS A WINNER

And I have small guys (ages 3 and 1.5) and they literally had games designed for all ages. They had classic shoot em up games but also some active ones and little rides for the super little guys. The games pass card was so easy to use and it was awesome to be able to try as many games and whatever games the kids wanted without having to worry. Love that you pay for a length of time instead of a certain value of coins/tokens/etc. Of course sugar and pop galore, but also surprisingly healthy food options. Like a veggie platter and a salad bar. Nice to see the healthy options too. Pizza of course was the best. We came for a kids birthday party and I do admit waiting for the main show, that would be an appearance by the Chuck e Cheese mouse took way too long. But they did have some fun interactive things for the kids like a birthday song with actions, air tunnel ticket tornado, and of course goody bags. Will we do a birthday party here in the future? It was busy with lots of birthday parties but the busyness was part of the charm and excitement of this place. I bought 1 hour of play (split between 2 play cards) for $30. I let the kids share the cards because it's just easier that way. We took a break after 30 mins of play and ordered a medium cheese pizza and 2 drinks. The cost was about $30 for that. The pizza was able to feed 4 little kids which was awesome. The pizza is a thin crust and super tasty. It's definitely made fresh and the kids devoured it. There was also an employee walking around with a schwack of cotton candy bags and a debit machine. She was selling the bags for $4 each and what a great idea! Overall the kids had a blast here and highly recommend coming here with your kids!

From the pictures on the walls to the vintage curtain to the the replica windows, it was like a movie set! I did find it a tad odd that we waited in the lobby for the doors to open until 810PM when the website had said show at 8PM but none the less it was great! The accoustics and visual inside was perfect and you were even allowed to bring in drinks or snacks purchased from the goody stand which included old fashioned favourites like flavoured candy sticks (think candy canes without the curve). The intermission was the perfect length of time. Seating was first come, first serve. The seats themselves were a little uncomfy - I'd like a modern update to the chairs perhaps :-) And let's not forget how cute it is driving into Fort Edmonton Park (my first time there if you can believe it!). Even though the park protion was closed, it was cute walking past the old fashioned shop fronts. There is a hotel there open year round called Hotel Selkirk which offers date night packages and dinner. It is a reconstruction of the 1920's hotel originally located on Jasper Avenue. Check them out at: http://www.fortedmontonpark.ca/hotel-selkirk/ I admittedly have not eaten there but the pictures look divine! Their website mentions weekly Sunday Brunch as well as dining events like Murder Mysteries! Yes Please! I can't wait to come back in the summer to take the whole experience in with the fam jam.

It was completed…read morelast year (I believe) and made to look like the original Capitol Theatre that was in Edmonton in the 1920's. While Fort Edmonton Park is only open during seasonal months (May to October) and for special occasions the Capitol Theatre is open at various times throughout the year when the Capitol Theatre is putting on a production. I should say this is a live theatre (as in plays and musicals) but apparently during regular Fort Edmonton Park dates/times they show a historic movie about Edmonton called "Northern Lights" that's free with park admission. During the off-season when a production isn't on the theatre can be rented out for group functions, which would be kinda neat. The outside of the theatre, from the parking lot at least, looks like just another grey cement building. I have to admit that kinda saddened me. I mean the Hotel Selkirk is right next door, and looks very lovely with its brickwork. I don't know maybe the hotel Selkirk isn't made of real brick, but it looks real. The Capitol Theatre has a lovely front facade that looks like a theatre from the 1920's. A bright marquee, a lovely wood panelled box office, vintage movie posters. It totally sells the part. Except for the fact you turn your head two inches and you can see the rest of the building is an ugly grey cement box. It's a bit disappointing that no one sprung the little bit extra to make the whole building look nice. So the disappointing part out of the way, like I said the front of the theatre is very nice, and the inside is nice as well. The theatre is done up in an Art Deco style. The lobby has framed posters of the original theatre, and other historic theatres in Edmonton. Plus there are posters from some of the plays and movies that were originally shown around Edmonton. If you're like me and you love vintage movie posters it was a pretty cool thing. The actual theatre where the stage of was lovely. It sort of reminded me of the Cannon Theatre in Toronto. Definitely not the same size, but there was that same Art Deco kind of style. The theatre looked like it could hold a couple hundred people, so it's not too big. The seats just look like any seat you might see in a theatre, but they're actually quite comfortable for a theatre seat. Trust me. I love theatre, but I've been to shows where I start fidgeting after 20 minutes because the seats are so uncomfortable. The Capitol Theatre seats were very nice. I saw "The Next Chapter", a Neil Simon play about a widowed man and a divorced woman. It was kinda funny, kinda cute, lots of snappy dialogue (Neil Simon seems to write snappy dialogue well), a little more dramatic than I expected. But I enjoyed it. The theatre was maybe half full, but to be honest I completely forgot that Fort Edmonton Park had a theatre until I was doing research for a school project. The price is very reasonable. Students (with ID) and seniors get tickets for $20, a regular adult admission is $28. The play I saw wasn't appropriate for the under 12 crowd so I don't know how much a regular kids ticket would cost. I do know that they will put on kids shows, because they're going to do The Velveteen Rabbit in December. The theatre is very nice (except the back part outside). The show was good (although live theatre can vary), and the ticket price was reasonable. Another bonus to seeing a show at the Capitol Theatre is getting to see part of Fort Edmonton Park in the evening, after a snow fall. It was quiet and quite pretty.

The atmosphere is ok but not very appealing! The music is extremely loud, especially if you are closer to the windows. The food was not bad but again lacking the "wow factor"! I think there should have been a sign on the broken games especially because they were not free. :) In general, It wasn't a great experience and I may never go back there again!
