Meh, which is how I originally felt about Corridor so we'll see if this grows on me. I'll note across the board of all these group's brewpubs the food basically isn't very good (Corridor flat out sucks except for brunch). Wasn't really impressed with the Roebuck pizza, it was fine as pizza is hard to mess up but it was to small for the prize. The rosemary honey wasn't good and the habarerno pineapple way to spicy, but I do appreciate the outside the box thinking here. Biggest issue for this brewpub is the beer. First they don't have tasters starting the small pour at 10oz. Secondly, they are all boring lagers, an ipl (solid), hefe, pils and oktoberfest. What is this, 2007? I guess if you're going for a brewpub for a dumbed down crowd of beer and food people they accomplished that. read more

Roebuck is a new addition to Broadway in East Lakeview, and we were excited to try it. My wife ordered a margarita pizza and I tried a pizza with a cured ham topping, called Hog heaven or something. The pizzas were decent, similar to several other thin crust pizza places in the neighborhood. The vibe of the place is trendy, with a large bar area in the middle and tables around the perimeter. Beer selection was okay but I would have liked an IPA. There is nothing wrong with this spot; it just doesn't really do anything special to make me want to come back when there are more interesting restaurants all around it. read more

4 of us had dinner here on a Monday. We love DryHop so wanted to check out their new "sister" pizzeria. The appetizers/salads looked amazing, but we really wanted to try the pizza, so we focused on them this time. The waiter mentioned that each pizza was 12" and recommended that each of the four of us order a different pizza so we could mix and match (highly recommend going this method). The 4 pizzas we ordered were the Bank Raaber, Red Riding Hog, Curds of Prey, and Sun God. The pizzas themselves aren't large or overly filling, but they were super tasty. Our personal favorite was definitely the Sun God, the white balsamic drizzle was such a good acidic kick with the tomatoes and the cheese. And the crust on all of them was delicious! Has a great chewy texture, lots of flavor. Atmosphere of the place was nice too, good place to just grab a light dinner with your friends on a weekday or take your family when they come to visit on a weekend. Will definitely be going back to try more of the pizzas and definitely some of the appetizers! read more

Host -tess, was not remotely helpful or nice. She didn't smile or make us feel remotely welcomed. Her energy level was about a negative 10 as well. She just seemed like she hated her job and we only spoke to her like 2 minutes? Our server was nice enough but also on the slow side as well. No recommends, no knowledge to be gleaned from her whatsoever about the menu or the beers. These beers were very underwhelming. Like none had any real complexities. We could've been drinking any 4% beer as far I was concerned. Oddly, though they share an open doorway you can't order beers from next door either. I don't really get why they are separate spaces other than one has a pizza oven. The food. The pizza was OK but the center was so thin that it couldn't hold the toppings and they slid off. It was super filmsy pizza and for all the spice in pepperoni? It was on the bland side overall. Like they didn't add any herbs or spices to the sauce maybe? The salad? was 4 pea sized pieces of peaches and a bunch of mixed greens with a couple slivers of manchego. Was it horrible? No. Was anything memorable? No. Everything here lacked effort. We went for opening night and were not disappointed! My husband ordered the ocktoberfest and I had some tequila drink that was out of this world good. I would say they nailed it with the high end cocktail/beer concept. The neighborhood needed an upscale pizza joint, and now we have it. I ordered the shroom pizza - the rosemary honey drizzled over it makes it perfection. Not huge pizzas. Probably enough for one, which they need to explain better prior to ordering. I'm a longtime fan of Dryhop because I live in the neighborhood. I was excited to get to Roebuck early on public opening day. We didn't have any day-one hiccups and enjoyed everything we ordered. Their meatballs were great with a marinara that's bound to upset those not into a bit of heat but was delicious nonetheless. We had the "Curds of Prey" and the "Sun gods" pizza and loved them both. The smoked carrots app. was also great. Everyone that helped us was friendly and professional and no one was any type of waterfowl. The look is great with the copper bar in the round and the raised seating area. Can't wait for winters here. Thanks for being in the 'hood. read more

Was visiting my son and his girlfriend in Chicago yesterday and they suggested going here. My husband who is not a huge pizza lover said "this is the BEST pizza I have ever eaten!!" The salads were so FRESH and AMAZING. We ordered 3 pizza's and 2 salads. It was a perfect amount of food!! The herbed Honey should be a whole enough review as all I can say is "WOW!!" You have not lived till you have tried it. Not sure if they sell to take home but I will ask next time!! Loved the atmosphere (we sat right by the open air front of the restaurant and it was a beautiful day to sit here and eat while we people watched!! Beer was good but that was the only saving grace. Took ten minutes maybe More for anyone to come see us and that was after we finally got up and asked if someone would be coming to wait on us. Staff did see us so it wasn't like we were out of sight. When speaking to the manager he seemed aloof and then he sat on his phone a couple seats away afterward. Anyway pizza was over priced and had too much char on the bottom. Pretzel order is like a roll with a bit off kosher salt on top for $6. The only thing holding this back from being a five is the fact that they don't let you get a drink at the bar while you wait - they seat the bar which is kind of annoying. Also, come winter, be prepared to go somewhere else while you wait, not much room inside. The pizza was very good, although they are only 12 inches. They said all of the dough is made in house and I think you can taste that - very good. A bit of an odd appetizer selection. If you get the meatballs, you literally get 3 meatballs. Wow, I'm so surprised with all the high ratings! First off, I want to say that my rating has nothing to do with the service, which was excellent. The staff was attentive and present without being intrusive. Our server was helpful in answering questions and checked in throughout the meal. Now, the food is a different story. We ordered a pizza and salad. Both are a good size. The salad had a few slices of pears and squash over mixed greens. It was good, the dressing was a bit heavy for mixed greens so the greens were soggy and limp but the flavor was good. The pizza, which I was excited to try, was a major disappointment. Yes, it is a nice size with six slices but it was boring and VERY sparsely topped. We got the red riding hog and there were about 12 pinky nail sized pieces of meat and a few slices of onion. That truly was it on the pizza. Crust which was crispy but flavorless, a very thin smear of sauce, and I mean the consistency of watercolor paint, and then the 12 "pieces" of meat. I was shocked they charged $15 for it. The flavor was boring and forgettable. I'm not a beer drinker so perhaps this is a place you really go more for the beer than the food and I just missed the boat on this one. Great staff, disappointing food. Maybe just go for the beer. read more

This place is exactly Broadway needed, a unique pizza spot. Service was very fast from the start of the night to the check. The pizzas are really meant for one person and are just the right portion. A nice selection of drinks as well and you can always go next door after for a drink at DryHop. Definitely worth trying! read more
