Top tip: When you've got a Brazilian girlfriend, and parents who have never eaten Brazilian food why not marry these happy circumstances and venture down to Rodizio Rico for a barrage of beef, chicken, pork and every high protein meat under the (cold) English sun. Perhaps not one for veggies (unless you're partial to salad and garlic bread), this Brazilian-style buffet is one of the oldest and most respected eateries in town, located in the fashionable district of Upper Street. Great service, delicious tequila and a fixed rate of 22.50 quid for all you can eat. You will be considerably wider after the experience, but it's well worth it!

The building is lovely, architecturally at least. The interior decor wasn't so great. There's nothing particularly wrong with it, just nothing particularly right either. It's a great space which could have had a really nice Brazilian themed feel, but it's just got some square black tables and generic leather chairs partnered with inoffensive piped music. It could be any restaurant anywhere. The menu online looked really good buy I felt like it failed to live up to its potential. We visited on a Wednesday evening and it wasn't very busy, which perhaps didn't help. The buffet dishes would have been really good but they hadn't been refreshed, the things which should have been hot no longer were and some of the things which were meant to be cold were obviously flagging a little. Perhaps on a busy night this is better but for us it wasn't great, and as my girlfriend is vegetarian this was her entire meal. You could argue this isn't really a place for vegetarians, and I would agree. The real draw of Brazilian BBQ is the lure of endless varied meats and here is no exception. The meats were mostly pretty good, nicely cooked and well infused with various seasonings and marinades. A couple of chicken offerings were the exception to the rule, I don't know what they had been subjected to before arriving on my plate but they were hard enough to throw through the living room window of someone you don't like. Certainly more than a match for my dentistry. Full BBQ menu was £23, vegetarian option £11. We had a drink each and no dessert and spent just over £40. I left full but not feeling like it represented good value for money, nor particularly compelled to return.

The meat was good (although a few bits under-done), the salads not bad and the cocktails very well done - finally a barman who can make a decent caiprinha! - The only downside was the rice, which had stood for too long and was lacking garlic, and the lack of treats like Pão de Queijo. The service was excellent. Some of the waiting staff were clearly new, but very attentive and prompt. I'll certainly be going back - the management seem very keen to improve and I am sure they'll only get better.

Having my Brazilian boyfriend in tow also made this a no-brainer, it may be miserable weather here but at least we can pretend we are somewhere far more tropical! It was happy hour when we arrived so we both ordered a Brahma and perused the menu which features main meals and Brazilian tapas. We ordered pao de queijo to start, cheesy dough balls which I have previously made myself at home. Undoubtedly tasty, but the £4 price tag for six small balls was a little steep when I know I can make about 100 of said balls for the same price!! For main course we went for the sharing platter of picanha aperativo - rump steak with cassava chips, fried onions and salad garnish. The received the thumbs up from the native Brazilian, high praise indeed. He felt the flavours were spot on, only the quality of the cut could be improved in the restaurants back home. If this is a good example of Brazilian food, I can't wait to get out there and try it for myself, although I will come back about three stone heavier! The space was attractive and comfortable, with further seating space available downstairs. The staff were friendly and helpful, and not overbearing. Overall, a brilliant place to escape the craziness that is Camden.

It's also adorable with a lovely man serving and making all the food out the back. I walked past this place this morning and thought, "I must pop in for lunch, this place looks too cute." I'm so glad I did! Browsing the menu there is a host of Brazilian home baked delights on offer, from chicken croquettes to cheesey dough dumplings. I went for one of their home made sandwiches filled with egg mayo and tonnes of salad. That with an apple cost no more than £3. What a great value lunch. They do have a little sitting area for 2 people that you can eat at. It's really nice because you can sit and watch the world go by while munching your lunch. I am so going back here to try the rest of their menu as well as their coffee. Well done Café Brasileiro, I can't wait to see you grow ever popular with the locals.

The food was bland, tasteless at times, we were a group of 15 and apart from one person who ordered a steak on a skillet everybody was disappointed with the food. One of us found a massive piece of parmesan with the rind still on in her risotto. These are not major issues but it would only take a few careful touches and this place could be great, especially being so close to The Egg club in Kings Cross. The staff were friendly and the Brazilian music excellent. We had shots on the house because of the "parmesan accident". All in all a bit pricey for what it was.

The salad was fine but I could not eat the steak because the sause was very salty. I was not happy with the desert at all. The only good thing was that the staff were very friendly. I dont think that I will go to this place again and I would not recommend it to anyone
