Ok folks YES this is a MOM/POP motel. It does need some work in certain places, the inside was very clean and clean white linens, crisp sheets NO BED BUGS!!! ( that is the first thing we check for everywhere) the beds are comfortable, walls are clean and NO CARPET all newer hardwood d floors. Office could use some updates and cleaned but other than that we slept good and it's a GREAT PRICE.. if you r very picky and want newer things, you may want to look elsewhere. I paid two weeks to stay here at this hotel two days ago when I got here I told them that the refrigerator didn't work. They said oh we'll get you on Monday on Mondays here and they're saying Tuesday lol this is ridiculous. I paid for this I've already wasted $30 worth of my groceries and there's 80 more dollars in there. They're gonna go bad because I can't keep them cold. This place does not have ice ridiculous I don't think they care about your property or they don't care about your things they don't care about anything. I don't know. I stay in a lot of inexpensive motels for overnight ski trips. I'm not fussy, but this place was just GROSS. Room smelled disgusting. Cracks in the walls. Fixtures and furniture that look like it was put in and 1962 and not updated since then, worn, pitted, cracked, scraped up, loose faucet flopping around in the sink. The person as the desk so cold and not welcoming. Lobby was a mess. These people who own this place must want to do the absolute minimum of work and just take money. ZERO PRIDE in the product they are deliverying. And the place isn't cheap. A room of this quality should be maybe $45/night. read more

If we could give this place zero stars, we would! After paying for our room, we walked in to see bugs crawling up the walls behind the bed. We asked for a new room, and arrived in that room to find drug paraphernalia under our bed. When we returned to ask for a refund as we no longer felt comfortable staying, the woman at the counter replied with "it's not that bad". We left having lost the $130 we had paid for the room, and had to find a hotel at the last minute as we're currently out of state. All around terrible experience at this inn! read more

Definitely falls into the category of "you get what you pay for." The room was full of too much furniture and felt very crowded. It's old and dated but functional. The mattress was hard and the sheets were overbleached. We had 4 pillows but for some reason the 4th pillow didn't have a pillow case. Available outlets are few and hidden behind things. Bathroom is tiny. It was clean though and a place to flop. If you have trouble sleeping with noise or light, bring earplugs or sleep mask as traffic noise can be heard very clearly. It was quiet while we were there but I suspect that you can hear everything going on (fill in your own blanks). The room was very stuffy and had a standard home a/c unit in the wall that we were reluctant to turn on (mostly because it was April and we not sure what smells would come out of it). You may wish to bring a fan. If needed, we'd stay there again as a one-night place to sleep but the mattress would definitely make us think twice. read more

Dirty and run down. The room smelled like cigarette smoke, the carpet was absolutely filthy, and when I pulled back the bed covers there were a few hairs in the bed and one on one of the pillows too. Also, the cold water knob was missing on the sink, so I had to wash my hands in the tub, since the sink has only scalding hot water. There's a reason why it's the last hotel in the area to fill up, in spite of being the cheapest priced. You get what you pay for. Book a day or two ahead and pay the extra few bucks for one of the other nearby places. I would only stay at this place again as an absolute last resort. read more

The positives of Rodeway Inn are the extremely close proximity to Mt. Wachusett and the cheap price. The negatives are pretty much everything else. I booked the room using Orbitz.com and upon arriving was told that all of the rooms were booked by the male owner. The female owner came in and apologetically searched on her computer and through her paper marble notebook for my reservation. After about ten minutes she handed me a key and told me my room number. I was really only interested in a place for my friend and I to crash after a night of skiing so I wasn't worried about the size of the room, which was definitely small. The decorating is classic motel chic with terrible and mismatched bedspreads and curtains. That kind of stuff doesn't bother me but the musty smell was definitely off putting. As was the fact that upon crawling into bed my friend and I noticed that there seemed to be sand everywhere: in the sheets, on the pillows, on the bedside table, etc. I slept on top of the sheets after that. This is likely beyond the owners' control but around 12:20 on NYE night the electricity inside of the rooms went out, although the outside lights remained on. One of the guests from another room went to complain and through my window I could see the owner rushing about in an attempt to fix the problem. Around 1:15 AM the male owner knocked on my door. When I opened the door he began to walk inside. He said that he wanted to check if the TV was still out and blamed the power failure on the space heaters that each room was provided. Ours was not even turned on. I blocked the owner from fully entering as being in the room with another female friend in our mid-20s I did not feel comfortable with him allowing himself to enter in the middle of the night. He said he would be back and left the room. He never came back and my friend and I just locked the door and fell asleep. The electricity did not come back on until after 2:30 am, at which point my friend and I were asleep. I did not feel threatened by the man and I think his intent was truly to see what was happening with the electricity but I also am not accustomed to people allowing themselves into a rented room at 1:15 in the morning. Again, the room is cheap and close to skiing. Like less than 10 minutes away; you can practically see the slopes as soon as you turn the corner from the motel. If all you need is a place to crash, bring a blanket and sleep on top of the sheets. If you are looking for a more legitimate place to stay, shell out the extra money and go to one of the other hotels in the area. read more

Stayed here over thanksgiving holiday. Was worried that the room would be cold since it was 20 degrees outside and the room only had a radiator. The room was toasty warm and the bed was new. The place is run by a immigrant who takes pride in their hotel. Also the place only charges $5.00 extra for the dog. The place was clean and affordable. Close to the ski area too. I wish I could give this place zero stars... Requested a non-smoking room, yet the moment we walk through the door it reeks of stale cigarettes. The walls are paper thin and you can hear almost everything going on in the adjacent room. The bathroom want properly planed, so it stick to the frame and you basically have to rip the door open to escape. We left the room for nearly 9 hours - room service didn't even touch the place while we were gone. Trash was full, towels on the floor not replaced, no attempt was made to even touch the room. The ice bucket had the last person's melted ice in it, and when we went to refill it the office was locked. I'm not even convinced the sheets were clean anymore... Noisy, inconsiderate neighbors blasting televisions on full volume at midnight, banging on walls... Once we were finally asleep, we were awoken at 4 am by the local police banging on the door looking for someone we've never heard of. No apology or explanation from management. If I wasn't already exhausted, I would have checked out after one night and never looked back. Next time I'm in a pinch, I'll pitch a tent on the side of the road or sleep in my car. Steer clear and find somewhere that treats you like a guest rather than a slum tenant. read more

I have stayed in rooms 11,25,and 29 which were all non-smoking. All of these rooms were large, nice, clean and fresh smelling. Even when I turned on the air conditioner it was not musty smelling like other motels in the area. The Manager did not lie when he told me he replaces the air filters on a regular basis and you can tell! The property is well kept. Rooms were large including the Microwave and Refrigerator. Service is excellent. Bathrooms with all facilities in room are excellent. Non smoking rooms smell clean and fresh. Maid service excellent. Provides fresh towels, Bedding and cleans every morning. Reasonable Rates. Free internet. Free local calls. Free coffee and pastry in the morning. Easy access from Route 2,2A, and 140. Free internet is a definite plus. Even includes 3 WIFI Access points. nice Heat and Hot water included. microwave and refrigerator included. bedding is nice and clean. If you want to stay in the area, I would recommend staying here. The Rodeway Inn is in a nice location. Nice and quiet and I slept well. The rooms were newly renovated and nice. Property is well maintained and boasts a new roof and refinished parking lot. I am giving 1 star because I can't give 0 stars. I have stayed at this location several times over the last few years because it is close to my destination. The rooms are just plain worn out. Bedding and furnishings are worn and shabby. The beds are worn out as well. Internet access is almost non existent in spite of the owners claiming otherwise. Wireless only and sporadic at best. Breakfast is a joke. Plan on going somewhere else for coffee. I won't stay there again... I will drive further. The owner spouts excuses for everything that doesn't work. read more

I got a deal on Priceline for $25 a night. Stayed two nights. I was greeted by two people with broken English in which they started the the conversation with "how did you get deal? We charge $70 a night! This is like shopping at grocery store". What a welcome. Yes, it was a steal- so I feel sorry for anyone who pays full price for this place bc it's NOT worth it. I gave it an extra star since its 7 mins away from Wachusett and since they seemed to be a little nicer after they were done being upset. As far as the room goes- bring your own cleaning products. It's dirty. The tub was disgusting. The ceilings were in need of TLC, only half the lights worked and was just overall dingy and gross-feeling. If it's snowing and you aren't driving an all wheel drive vehicle- keep in mind that the motel is on top of a hill and they barely plow or salt. Your car may not make it up here! The owner of this motel is a WACKO. It may be the cheapest rate around, but that's for a reason. I called to check availability. When he asked me for my credit card I told him I would be booking online. He started SCREAMING at me. I didn't even get a chance to explain that I book online for points with the travel company. There's no option to give negative or no stars...Tried to stay here last weekend, when I walk into the lobby there was a elderly man sitting on the couch of the lobby with his bare feet, no shoes or socks, on the coffee table in what was the lobby / continental breakfast room. I tried to overlook this and when walking to my room I noticed every single window is open in every room even with no one in them. Were they trying air out some stenchor something? I can only guess. Apon entering my room it was freezing and I could not find the heat valve so I went back to the office for assistance. The lobby clerk assured me he could fix this and follow me back to my room. He then proceeded to pull out a space heater and plug it in. I voiced incredulously "I have to heat the room with a space heater"? He replied in all confidence that yes and it was okay. I asked for another room to only find the same solution for warmth and then decided not to stay there anymore. I informed the clerk that I wouldn't even let my dog stay there. Great place to flop for the night. Very clean, reasonably priced. Friendly management. Sheets were clean and crisp, carpet freshly vacuumed. Room was smaller, but had microwave, fridge, and flat screen TV with lot's of channels. Bath showed the property's age, but was clean with modern toilet. Manager was willing to put morning coffee out 30 minutes early for me. Breakfast was coffee/tea, and choice of Blueberry muffins from BJ's bakery or packaged cheese Danish. Very simple but helpful.
