Sign says don't use water. Bed bugs. You get your choice of smell: mold or old cigarettes. All this and they still charge you $60.

A Horror Movie in Disguise - Bring Your Own Soap!…read more I recently stayed at Clarion Hotel & Suites University- Shippensburg, and let me tell you, it felt like I was trapped in a low-budget horror movie--complete with the only thing missing: Norman Bates lurking in the shadows! From the moment we arrived, things were already eerie. We walked into our room, flipped the light switch, and... nothing. It was like stepping into a haunted house. The only light source was a lamp with a broken glass lampshade, which was both "vintage chic" and a safety hazard. A real two-for-one special! The TVs? Oh boy! They decided to play hard to get. We had to unplug them to turn them on, which felt like performing some ancient ritual. Turning them off? Same dance all over again! When we tried to shower, we found there was no soap. The receptionist casually mentioned they hadn't received their soap order, so the owner had to go buy some. Apparently, they were saving the big bars for guests who might have their own soap collection. I didn't realize I was checking into a soap-free commune! To make matters worse, there was no hair dryer in the bathroom. I discovered that the hair dryer had been ripped off the wall--perhaps someone was trying to start their own DIY beauty salon? The bathroom sink was a whole adventure on its own. It wouldn't drain, and if you closed the drain, good luck reopening it! The pop-up drain lift rod was lying on the shelf under the sink--like it was on a permanent vacation. When I asked the receptionist about it, they casually informed us that they took their super snake away because they thought it would damage the drain. Yes, you read that right. No snake, no problem, right? The heat in our room was a real mystery. It worked intermittently but never actually heated the place. I spent the night shivering under the covers, wishing for some warmth. Then there was the gym--oh, the gym! The heat was stuck on, turning it into a sauna that made me question my life choices. As I struggled to breathe, I thought, "If I'd only known this, we could have come down here to sleep instead of shivering in bed!" Working out in 80-degree heat? Talk about extreme fitness! And, of course, the gym TV was also out of order--because who needs entertainment while sweating buckets? The grand finale came when we tried to re-enter our room the next day. Our keys refused to work, and when we tried calling the front desk for help, no one ever answered. This meant I had to go up and down to the lobby each time to report the issues, navigating an extremely slow elevator that seemed to take its sweet time. Overall, my stay at Clarion Hotel & Suites University- Shippensburg was like living in a comedy of errors. I highly recommend finding somewhere else to stay unless you're looking for a spooky adventure. Just remember to bring your own soap--because clearly, they don't want to waste any!

As soon as I walked in the air conditioned room I had a HUGE smile of relief, it was perfect. Super super comfy beds & pillows, working TV with tons of channels, hot and cold water with a non slip tub, microwave, mini fridge, hair dryer and complimentary coffee/tea. I honestly didn't want to leave. Highly recommend!! Thanks so much Clarion!!!

Found a towel that , once unrolled, looked as if someone peed on it (no exaggerating). The shower overly grimy and didn't have any slip proofing. The tub filled up because the A. The drain must have been clogged and B. The faucet was pouring out water while the shower head was running. I always make a note to check the air conditioner filters and yet have one that wasn't filthy and needed cleaning, as I did with this one, and I mean I can't believe this thing could still take in air through it. Felt little bites on my leg once in a while but that could possibly be my mind playing tricks on me as the chance for bed bugs in a motel is ever increasing for various reasons and I think any sane individual would be a little paranoid about that in a motel. Half the lights didn't work. I will say that the beds were very comfortable although I was too worried to use the bedding after the towel issue and my BB paranoia. Oh and the fan didn't work in the bathroom either which is a danger for mold growth. Maintenance and housekeeping needs to become a priority for this place now and forthcoming.

Resort is very nice. I would love to see it during the summer. In saying and in my opinion,…read more this casino resort needs to update things in comparison with its competitors. It is very outdated and does not create a relaxing environment for all of its patrons. It seems that it's geared toward elderly non smoking people. Machines are ancient and there's no suitable clean area for people that actually smoke. The high limit room is disgraceful for a high limit room not a single updated machine. Perhaps this casino should View some of its competitors to see what actually makes a high limit room work. Rooms were comfortable but bed awful pillows. Bathroom- no shelving in shower to put soap etc, looks like it was ripped off. Strange. Restaurant is completely over priced for quality and our server the morning of 3/24/26 left us waiting and asking for everything and they were extremely slow. She seemed annoyed to be waiting on us. Casino- nothing going on as far as entertainment because it was beginning of week. Just gonna tell you that our party at four watched for three days we never saw an attendant making a hand pay. We never heard a single bell at all. We never saw a single person when anything of significance. I have never been to a casino where there was no walking around Cleaning machines, taking orders. The bartender told me that she takes it upon herself to walk around and wait on people so that she can make enough money to survive. Every conversation with the employee led to them complaining. . I never saw anyone in three days achieve a hand pay ...never heard any bells. If there are slot attendance, which I never saw those I don't understand how they make any money because I promise you it never happened so they didn't make a dollar in tips. The are high roller they'd like to smoke cigars and you can't do that here. The only thing that I saw was an overabundance of security guys that really did nothing. High limit room is a joke. Compared to my Pittsburgh area casinos, I can understand why no one ever played in that room. It's usually a room where guys that are betting like to enjoy a cigar and a nice drink while they relax in this casino you can't do that. have to go outside on the dirty porch with old machines that have lines running through the screen. Put more updated machines in and give people a smoking section the same as you do non smokers. I know people say this all the time, but this place is tight! As a gambler, I get more excited seeing other people win and I'm willing to spend more of my own money that was never the case here unfortunately you just anybody win anything. 2,000 later and we never won anything to keep us playing, as well as the couple we went with. 100 largest win. thr Resort seems like it would be lovely in the summer but the casino does not appeal to the gambler. We want a clean environment, great service to be able ti have the choice of a nonsmoking or smoking section, and also to receive a little bit of playback to keep you going. Unfortunately, this casino did not hit any of those marks. It does not appeal to a typical gambler. The average wealthy that would be willing to throw down some money might want to have a cigar and a nice bourbon. He will be in for a wake up. Call when he's thrown outside into the screened in porch filthy outdated machines wit zero cocktail waitresses. The smoking section is actually outdoors and it was freezing with a screen separating the outside. Get newer machines, wait on your customers and provide an indoor clean smoking area equivalent to non smoking!! People won't want to leave their seat! You have to leave your seat for everything! Makes it really easy to quit spending money. This review is very frustrating because I think the resort is beautiful and I want to like it but all of those things mentioned above make it difficult. It does not appeal to all people that like to gambler. It appeals to elderly non-smoking individuals and even they can't get a cocktail waitress.
