A travelers delight! You can see the size and type of hotel from the outside, but everything is immaculately maintained, spotless inside, manicured outside, I just saw it while driving by, too tired to drive on. An adorable place that is clean, affordable, and if this were a chain I would look for one of these first anywhere I went. Five stars and credit to the owners, it seems like a privately owned place that they take pride in maintaining.

adorable, spotless, perfectly preserved mid-century motel in the peaceful, beautiful pennsylvania countryside. vintage tile bathroom! crank-open retro style windows in back of room and in bathroom. smells clean, no smoking. view of blue mountain and the unmanned turnpike tollbooths. starry skies and unbelievably quiet night - then you wake to the clip-clop of amish buggies trotting along the road in the morning. would definitely stay again! - it was also fun to find and visit all the little honor-system vegetable and pumpkin stands lining the road in the area. only drawback is nowhere to eat - but the westbound blue mountain service plaza is right before the motel's exit, with various food options for takeout or eat-in.

Excellent. CLEAN, well kept, quiet, great owners ! I'm glad the Hampton down in Manheim was sold out or I never would've found this place, will definitely stay here in the future..

Love the old school motel key and the Bible waiting for me on the table as I walked in my room. Knew I picked the right place.

Terrific mom 'n pop place. Cleanest hotel I have ever been to. Like stepping back In time. Really good people. Do yourself s favor and bypass the corporate chains and support a family business. You won't be sorry. Exact midpoint from Philly to Pittsburgh. I will be back!

So it was a long trip today and needed to find the closest place of the turnpike. This place was just yards away from the toll booth and I will admit I was a little apprehensive, envisioning a run down smelly old hotel... I'm a bit ashamed of my pre judgement as this place was immaculately maintained. A purely perfectly preserved throwback to the early 50's. The bathroom looked and functioned like it was installed just yesterday with period materials. The ambiance was perfect. I slept great, comforted i believe by this wonderful throwback to my childhood. I'll stop here on my way back though without any doubt.

A Horror Movie in Disguise - Bring Your Own Soap!…read more I recently stayed at Clarion Hotel & Suites University- Shippensburg, and let me tell you, it felt like I was trapped in a low-budget horror movie--complete with the only thing missing: Norman Bates lurking in the shadows! From the moment we arrived, things were already eerie. We walked into our room, flipped the light switch, and... nothing. It was like stepping into a haunted house. The only light source was a lamp with a broken glass lampshade, which was both "vintage chic" and a safety hazard. A real two-for-one special! The TVs? Oh boy! They decided to play hard to get. We had to unplug them to turn them on, which felt like performing some ancient ritual. Turning them off? Same dance all over again! When we tried to shower, we found there was no soap. The receptionist casually mentioned they hadn't received their soap order, so the owner had to go buy some. Apparently, they were saving the big bars for guests who might have their own soap collection. I didn't realize I was checking into a soap-free commune! To make matters worse, there was no hair dryer in the bathroom. I discovered that the hair dryer had been ripped off the wall--perhaps someone was trying to start their own DIY beauty salon? The bathroom sink was a whole adventure on its own. It wouldn't drain, and if you closed the drain, good luck reopening it! The pop-up drain lift rod was lying on the shelf under the sink--like it was on a permanent vacation. When I asked the receptionist about it, they casually informed us that they took their super snake away because they thought it would damage the drain. Yes, you read that right. No snake, no problem, right? The heat in our room was a real mystery. It worked intermittently but never actually heated the place. I spent the night shivering under the covers, wishing for some warmth. Then there was the gym--oh, the gym! The heat was stuck on, turning it into a sauna that made me question my life choices. As I struggled to breathe, I thought, "If I'd only known this, we could have come down here to sleep instead of shivering in bed!" Working out in 80-degree heat? Talk about extreme fitness! And, of course, the gym TV was also out of order--because who needs entertainment while sweating buckets? The grand finale came when we tried to re-enter our room the next day. Our keys refused to work, and when we tried calling the front desk for help, no one ever answered. This meant I had to go up and down to the lobby each time to report the issues, navigating an extremely slow elevator that seemed to take its sweet time. Overall, my stay at Clarion Hotel & Suites University- Shippensburg was like living in a comedy of errors. I highly recommend finding somewhere else to stay unless you're looking for a spooky adventure. Just remember to bring your own soap--because clearly, they don't want to waste any!

AMAZING!!! I was camping in MD but the heat was too much and I was too shot to drive 4 hours home…read more The young lady at the front desk was super sweet and made check in a breeze. As soon as I walked in the air conditioned room I had a HUGE smile of relief, it was perfect. Super super comfy beds & pillows, working TV with tons of channels, hot and cold water with a non slip tub, microwave, mini fridge, hair dryer and complimentary coffee/tea. I honestly didn't want to leave. Highly recommend!! Thanks so much Clarion!!!

Hotel A relatively…read morenewer establishment, the Homewood Suites in Carlisle was the location I picked when needing to spend a week in the area for work. Check in was a breeze and the lovely lady working the evening I got into town was happy and just extremely pleasant to deal with. she got me on my way in a few moments after I arrived. Rooms were good sized and very clean- as were all areas of the establishment: Common areas, hallways etc. Bed was comfy, and the hot water was hot - without having to wait forever. Perfect. In the morning, they offer what I would say is one of the best free breakfasts I've had in quite some time. Coffee was not only hot, but tasted very good - a rare find these days. The hot offerings changed daily and pretty much every dietary preference was covered in some fashion. the folks doing kitchen duty were obviously very dedicated to their jobs, and it showed. Round it all out with an indoor pool and fitness center as well as a small outdoor patio seating area, and you have a very good place to unwind after a long day of meetings or whatever it is that brings you to town. Overall a wonderful experience and I would absolutely use this location again if back in the area.

The managers reception in the evening was very nice, I'm in course, a salad bar, free, beer, and all sorts of snacks and drinks. The morning breakfast spread, is substantially better than a lot of the breakfast I pay $20 for another Hilton properties. Each room is like a little apartment. The fitness area, is better than the average hotel gym. This will be my new stop over, as I travel Across Pennsylvania every couple weeks. Very nice, highly recommended, just a short drive from the turnpike.
