I was immediately greeted by a SUPER friendly girl at the front desk (didn't catch her name- young w blonde hair) - nice to be welcomed by a friendly face. She gave me a quiet room, far away from the elevator...did I mention how QUIET the hotel is? If you need a good nights rest this is the place! Room was super clean and comfortable. The front desk personnel at that time, who is the same individual I spoke to, radioed a few folks who claimed they were not the ones who cleaned the room. Evidently, there is no log in existence to track such a thing. That was all that was done. They took down my number and told me they would call back once it had been found. The plumbing is running right down the wall behind the tv, and it has become a constant disturbance. Who thought of this design should have wrapped the pipes at least. If you are a light sleeper or don't want to hear toilets flushing and the plumbing noise from the floor above, I strongly recommend requesting a room on the top floor. My wife and I recently stayed at the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Chambersburg while we were in the area for a funeral. We chose this hotel because of the Marriott name and the convenient location. One thing that I found strange was the pricing. I originally looked at a king room, but it was almost $50 more per night than the room with two queen beds. To me, that doesn't make much sense. A room with two beds can accommodate more people, especially since these suites also have a sofa/trundle bed. You could potentially have 3-5 people staying in that room, compared with a king room that would generally have fewer guests. Since breakfast is included, you'd think the room accommodating more people would cost more, not less. I realize hotel pricing is based on demand, but the difference still seemed backwards to me. The outside of the hotel could use a little attention and cleaning up. However, once you walk inside, it's a completely different story. The hotel was very clean, there were no unpleasant smells, and our room was exceptionally clean. I also really appreciated the little personal touch from housekeeping. There was a note from the person who cleaned our room, which I thought was very nice and showed some pride in their work. The location is very convenient, with plenty of shopping, fast-food restaurants and other dining options nearby. It's an easy place to stay when you're in Chambersburg and need everything close by. My concern is not that the hotel allows pets--it's the lack of cleanliness throughout the property. I am staying in Room 209, and upon arrival, the floors had not been swept, and there was hair throughout the bathroom. The entire second floor has a strong odor of dog urine and feces. Even more concerning, I observed what appeared to be pet urine and feces in the common areas, extending from the dining area through the lobby and hallways. This is completely unacceptable for any hotel. If my room were not prepaid, I would be checking out immediately and booking a room at a Marriott property. I will also be sharing this experience on multiple hotel review sites because travelers deserve to know the conditions before booking. I do want to make it clear that this review is not a reflection of the front desk associate, Ale. She was professional, kind, and very accommodating. When I requested a broom and room spray because of the condition of my room, she happily provided both, and I returned them shortly afterward. Check in was a breeze and the lovely lady working the evening I got into town was happy and just extremely pleasant to deal with. she got me on my way in a few moments after I arrived. Rooms were good sized and very clean- as were all areas of the establishment: Common areas, hallways etc. Bed was comfy, and the hot water was hot - without having to wait forever. Perfect. In the morning, they offer what I would say is one of the best free breakfasts I've had in quite some time. Coffee was not only hot, but tasted very good - a rare find these days. The hot offerings changed daily and pretty much every dietary preference was covered in some fashion. the folks doing kitchen duty were obviously very dedicated to their jobs, and it showed. Round it all out with an indoor pool and fitness center as well as a small outdoor patio seating area, and you have a very good place to unwind after a long day of meetings or whatever it is that brings you to town. Overall a wonderful experience and I would absolutely use this location again if back in the area.
