The reason for three stars are the children/young adults. Many of which I guess are permanent residents They are simply out of control. For example. Forget trying to use the pool. children most older will splash to drive you out of the pool. Their parents sit by and watch them do this and use profanity. All I wanted was a small area to do 15 minutes of exercise for my back. There are adult hours from 7 to 8 however, the kids do not abide by that. We are fortunate to be located in the front of the park so I can't address the noise in the back at night. I also understand that Kids will be Kids, but I think parents should take some responsibility for the behavior of their teen children.

This inn is very very old, but there is a certain charm that comes with that. The bathroom tiles…read moreand fixtures in particular are kinda adorable. The staff is very friendly and the price can't be beat. I mean really, you won't find a cheaper place to stay in the area. It seemed secure enough and there was a refrigerator to keep drinks and snacks cool with. That's a real plus on a long stay. I would say that the staff works hard to make the rooms clean and presentable. The place could use renovations like new windows and carpets, but for what they charge and the good service they provide, I'm a fan of this little hotel. I stayed here because my boss likes to save money, but I'd stay there again of my own accord. Nice folks and reasonable accommodations. I could have stayed somewhere else for 100 bucks more per night, but I'm not really into paying that much extra for a stale breakfast, newer bedding, and a cookie on my bed. I prefer a place like this that is fairly priced, efficient, friendly, and not pompous. Also, they have smoking rooms and I bet they'll let pets stay too. There may be an extra fee though.

I decided to write my first yelp review because of how awesome this place is. If a spacious…read moremodernized cabin/lodge is your thing then you won't be disappointed. Even though it feels very remote, the grocery store is only 2 miles away. A fireplace on each level and updated appliances make it very inviting. There was more then enough wood stockpiled for us. Its pricey but can easily accommodate multiple families to make the cost reasonable. There is a ping pong table in the basement and my only suggestion would be to add a pinball machine and/or arcade style game. We went to nearby Hawn's Overlook of Raystown lake. Absolutely beautiful. We hope to make Bear's Paw Lodge a pre-christmas tradition. Though I can see this place growing in popularity.

This place is mostly seasonal sites with a few transient sites. When we arrived the owners were very friendly and helpful. I had asked on the phone about their dump station. When the owner saw the size of our rig (40' diesel pusher) he was concerned we couldn't fit into the dump station. He immediately offered to bring the pump rig over and empty our tanks. He even said he'd come by in the morning to pump us out before we left. The sites are plenty bug and nice decks on many of them. They are tucked into the woods and it is very quite and peaceful. All this for $35 a night. Great place to stop if your traveling by if they can accommodate you. Wonderful friendly owners and a peaceful place to relax. Thanks for a great experience!
