3rd visit - booked the King Suite w/jetted tub again - upon arrival, I was told the room was just remodeled - woohoo! Looks like they updated the wall colors, added some new furniture - love the new room smell ;) As with previous visits, staff were extremely helpful & friendly - gave good recommendations on the best places to eat, etc. One thing i like about this property is that the rooms seem quiet - and even tho' our room faced one of the busiest intersections in town - traffic noise was at a minimum. We did partake of the breakfast downstairs, but we did avail ourselves of a couple of apples in the lobby during our stay. The hotel is old and a little run down, but comfortable for the most part and I'd echo the comments of others...best staff around. We arrived and checked in, after a long day of touristy things in the summer heat, I anxiously jumped into the shower, washed some hairs down the drain...but after I kept finding more and more, I had enough. I got out of the shower, called the front desk, the manager answered and very promptly rushed up to clean it. She then stated she'd let the housekeeping crew who cleaned it know they need to wipe the showers and bathtubs down. The breakfast offerings and staff were great! read more

The hotel is beautiful. The room appeared clean but after some time, I discovered a condom wrapper behind the curtain as I closed it. Certainly I understand these things happen but this was particularly unfortunate and am glad I found it before my 3 small kids did. Just so gross. We appreciated a number of things - the front desk was flexible about us parking at the entry to unload our bags; the breakfast was good quality, substantial and had a good variety. Unlike many hotels since COVID that don't make up the room unless you ask, this Hampton Inn did. The staff was very friendly and took their work seriously - it just showed. The rate was reasonable. Right when we walked in we were greeted by the the wonderful Kathy. She was so friendly, she asked us questions about our trip so she can direct us to local attractions. We also used her suggestion on the most delicious Italian restaurant. Our room was comfortable, clean and we all slept well. Great water pressure that stayed nice and hot for all our showers. The next employee that was amazing and went above and beyond was Angie she works the breakfast area and she doesn't just stock it she helps everyone. We watched her interact with the guest and she was so sweet. She helped my son get his items and not because he couldn't do it but because she says she enjoys it. She is adorable and very loved by guests. We made sure to tip her well during our stay. Also want to mention Shay, she was so sweet with my son. She was helpful and very kind. Three amazing employees that made a difference in our stay. We also talked with Cindy the manager, she is on the ball and makes sure that situations are handled immediately. This is a wonderful place to stay when you are in the Gettysburg area. read more

Lobby and eating area. Very nice. Just like a typical Hampton. Lobby smelled clean without any perfume scent thing which is typical for Hampton and one of the things I love about them. Rooms are nice and clean similar to all Hamptons. One of the things I was very disappointed with was the hot tub. I was looking forward to sitting in the hot tub when I got to the hotel at the end of my day. However, the hot tub is the smallest hot tub I've ever seen at any Hampton or any hotel ever. Literally big enough to fit two people. That would've been OK except for it was full of bubbles which either means it's very dirty or someone put soap of some sort in there. I stepped in up to my thigh. The water was lukewarm. Jacuzzis are supposed to be at least 102° to help. Keep bacteria growth down. This Jacuzzi wasn't even close to that temperature. I decided not to go in to gross for me. The pool is ice cold. My biggest disappointment besides the Jacuzzi was the workout room or maybe I should say nonexistent workout room. There were three workout machines. One the treadmill was broken with signs on it, saying it was broken. So their were two workout machines. One elliptical and one peloton bike. A couple of bouncing weighted balls and that's it. Very small and disappointing. No weights. As far as a good nights sleep, the room was nice and clean and quiet. One of my biggest disappointments with Hampton. Is they charge you for breakfast in the morning. However, I have many allergies and can't eat anything in their breakfast other than their plain oatmeal. The eggs have milk, the sausage has all kinds of crap in it, etc. , I'd rather see no breakfast and a Discount or something a little healthier like how about just plain scrambled eggs without any crap in them? I want to add, even though I was very disappointed with the hot tub in the morning. I noticed all the cleaning that was going on, which was really impressive. The public lobby bathroom, thoroughly spotless, and beautiful. I left my coat in my room by accident and had to go back in after I checked out. It was cracked so they already have been in there to clean or start to clean. And there was an abundant smell of Lysol, which means they were sterilizing the room, I appreciated that. 5 star for cleanliness and friendly staff. read more

Upon arrival to the room we found that the A/C was off, the humidity and temperature were high, and the suite smelled so bad that we immediately went out and bought two cans of Lysol. We had booked three days, but found out late on the second day that the water was going to be shut off at 10am the following day, and that the parking lot was going to be paved. No details, no compensation offered; guests left to fend for themselves. We abandoned our third nights stay, went home, and are now trying to figure out why we bother with the "Honors" or "Rewards" programs. We'll definitely be back to Gettysburg, but not this hotel. read more

Everyone was so nice! I cannot say stress enough how nice everyone was. Greeted with snickerdoodle cookies! Free breakfast! I didn't go to the pool or hot tub because I hadn't had the chance but it did look nice! It definitely has some quirks like staying at your grandmas house. Like the sink water randomly didn't come out for a second then rushed out with only hot water once. The rest of the time the sink was fine! Four nights in this property, which is convenient at the far end of Gettysburg away from the downtown area but right near the US15 highway. Plenty of parking and located next to a Walmart and a Ruby Tuesday. As a Diamond in the Hilton Honors program, I was upgraded to a larger sized room that was quite comfortable and closer to the end of the hallway than the elevator. Firm king-sized bed, work desk, large flat panel television, mini fridge and microwave, coffee service and a comfy chair for watching the television. Breakfast in the morning is the usual Hampton style with eggs and a breakfast meat, pastries and breads for toasting, waffle maker, oatmeal, juices and fruit, cereals, and yogurt. Coffee is on all day. There was very little noise from neighbors, from the hallway or from the outside of the property. It is not the most modern Hampton I've stayed at, but it represents the brand well. read more

This is a solid chain hotel. Staff is extremely nice. When I called to confirm my third party reservation , I actually had an intelligent conversation and the woman who answered indicated she was glad I called because they then had my personal information. Breakfast is included, which is helpful .They have a nice (small) swimming pool. which I used every day I was there. That's one of the reasons I booked this hotel. The room has a refrigerator, which is another reason I booked it.This was going to be a no pool ,no refrigerator , no booking event. Increasingly these are features I want unless it's impossible. The hotel parking is a snap. You are near Walmart ,Giant and Weis- you could walk to Walmart. You're a short drive from the shopping outlets , which seem to be hanging on. You're close to Core Atomic Cidery which has great cider and good food. You're also close to the battlefield visitor center. The hotel is a few miles out of town and you might think , shouldn't I stay in town. Answer: no! the town is charming .it's also overcrowded with tourists , noisy and the roads seem to be truck routes.This will work for you. read more

If you're going to stay in Gettysburg and do the various tours of the battlefields and all that Gettysburg has to offer, this Hampton on York Road is rather ideally located. Everything is typical Hampton, a simple breakfast included. The rooms are clean, spacious enough, but as far as Hampton Inns go, sort of average; nothing special or in any way exceptional. read more

This hotel was awesome. Our room was amazing, beautiful and spotless. It may not seem like much but the curtains were Roman shades and they were dark and thick and we slept in which we haven't done in months. The bed was comfortable and there was an extra blanket in the closet so my husband didn't suffer in my tundra. We went for the jacuzzi tub and it worked it's magic. Would 1000% recommend this place. Just stayed here in Sept 2020 and this Hampton Inn takes a very passive approach to the coronavirus. Night I was there many truckers, with a dozen flatbeds outside the front entrance, hanging around lobby without any social distancing throughout the evening and causally going in out of the elevator in groups -- all without masks. Didn't see hand sanitizers anywhere. Precautions are not in place. IT IS SIMPLY NOT WORTH THE HEALTH RISKS TO STAY HERE. Find a safer spot. read more

The hotel doesn't have much curb appeal but once you get inside, especially since it's located at a relatively busy intersection in Gettysburg. The lobby and room accommodations are not that bad. I've stayed at other hotels in the area, it wasn't my first choice but was pleasantly surprised once I saw the room and the space. My room was adjacent to the pool so the room had an irregular shape but offered more space. Important side note: When I booked the reservation online, the site claimed the non-smoking room had a queen-size bed. When I called the hotel to request to be upgraded to a king-size, he explained to me that for some reason, the staff explained to me that it was a king-size and not a queen but the system online had not been updated. So I got a slight discount of ~$20 off the king room as noted online. The breakfast selection and quality wasn't bad for a continental and offered a fairly wide selection. Highly recommend as a back-up hotel. read more

Would give zero stars if it was an option. Our original room reservation (king suite) was given to someone else and we were given a king room with queen beds room attached and pullout. The pullout wouldn't fit anywhere safely- egress for emergency, fire, etc. Kelly, desk clerk, said she and her manager couldn't accommodate our reservation. After asking for different rooms, we were offered less space for a higher price, with full on attitude and rudeness from Kelly. We left the hotel after being in the room less than three hours total- and were charged full price, despite the fire hazard and THEIR overbooking. Kelly made us feel incredibly unwelcome and not of the Hilton standard. Anyone searching for a hotel in Gettysburg should definitely bypass this atrocity and go to the Marriott less than a mile away. The rates, accommodations and atmosphere are far superior and SAFER than this train wreck. read more

A special shout out to Mary the General Manager, Brittany on the Front Desk, and Shay on the Front Desk who went out of their way to help my husband surprise me and to make this a wonderful time. The hotel itself is great! The lobby is pretty, with a great free breakfast spread. The pool and whirlpool look a little scuzzy, but y'know, I didn't expect a resort pool. Our room was clean and well equipped and the two gentlemen who work in the lobby in the evening are very nice and helpful. They helped us choose a place to order pizza from. However, the unsmiling female manager in the morning was rude and just not hospitable at all! We walked up to the front and asked for an additional night since we wanted to extend our stay. My husband asked if we could have a military discount and showed her his ID. I then left my husband to pay and went upstairs. A few minutes later we find out that she hadn't given us a military discount at all! When my husband went back down to ask about this, she asserted that he hadn't asked for one! Even though he did twice and then showed her his ID. He reported that she did not apologize, but did begrudgingly give him the discount. Good Hotel, very nice and clean but poorly managed. I booked my reservation through Orbitz. A week prior to check in I called and confirmed my check in and went over the details with the clerk. My reservation then was exactly what I wanted. When I checked in the reservation was totally changed. It was NOT what I had requested. A smoking room with a single bet not a double with two. I called the front desk to complain and was told they would take $10 off my bill. Fortunately for them when I went down to complain in person the man in front of me was checking out early. I told them I wanted his room since they did charge me for it. When speaking to the hotel they tried to blame it on Orbitz but Orbitz was 100 percent accurate. They stopped replying to me when I asked why they confirmed it and then removed my reservation in favor of another. They are not honest nor reputable and will not own up to their mistakes. what a gem! every member of the staff was stellar. the room was clean and wonderful, plenty of space to relax and store items. breakfast was delicious! my one complaint would be the temperature of the pool, it was freezing. but refreshing and nice to be able to use. not sure if they only use the skylights to heat it or what, but you couldn't stay in there for long. other than that, completely exceeded expectations and we will probably use this property in the future. read more

Having come to this hotel from the Hampton Inn in Manassas, Va, it was a step down. Perhaps more than just a step down. Nothing was quite the same. Most noticeable was the breakfast. It fell short of the Manassas hotel in variety and quantity of items available. The room was ample but noticeably smaller. The bed was comfortable and the staff helpful. Those are the only positives. The guest rooms & baths have been updated so everything in the room felt clean & fresh. The beds were comfortable. The ventilation worked well. Overall we enjoyed our stay. We were there at a very busy time for the Gettysburg area. Most hotels were either sold out or very expensive. We choose this hotel simply based on price (less than $100 per night). We were pleased with the value. The negatives to the hotel - the front desk folks are plain unfriendly, the business center does not exist and the computer they offer up as the business center is out of order, and last but not least the breakfast area & lobby have not been updated so they are old and tired looking. This IS a chain hotel, so it's not 5-diamond luxury, BUT it is the best Hampton I've stayed at (we've been staying here about every 2-3 years since 2006). It's a very convenient drive to the different areas of the battlefield and easy access to the highway/gas stations. The December room rate was really good, our room was very clean and fresh, housekeepers & breakfast attendants were friendly, complimentary beverages in the lobby were kept full, the rooms seemed to have been recently renovated and are in great shape, and the continental breakfast had a very wide selection. I'm a very health-conscious and picky eater and was able to make a respectable breakfast out of the continental (I was thrilled to see the oatmeal bar, which paired with some fixings from the waffle bar and fresh fruit kept me full 'til lunch). Would be good for family travel/quick trips. The only suggestion I would make to travelers, would be to request a room facing the parking lot. The intersection can be a little loud with truck traffic at some points during the night. Kudos to the management for keeping this Hampton on-par with guest expectations! Definitely our top choice of chain hotel when in the area. read more
