Right when we walked in we were greeted by the the wonderful Kathy. She was so friendly, she asked us questions about our trip so she can direct us to local attractions. We also used her suggestion on the most delicious Italian restaurant. Our room was comfortable, clean and we all slept well. Great water pressure that stayed nice and hot for all our showers. The next employee that was amazing and went above and beyond was Angie she works the breakfast area and she doesn't just stock it she helps everyone. We watched her interact with the guest and she was so sweet. She helped my son get his items and not because he couldn't do it but because she says she enjoys it. She is adorable and very loved by guests. We made sure to tip her well during our stay. Also want to mention Shay, she was so sweet with my son. She was helpful and very kind. Three amazing employees that made a difference in our stay. We also talked with Cindy the manager, she is on the ball and makes sure that situations are handled immediately. This is a wonderful place to stay when you are in the Gettysburg area.

Lobby and eating area. Very nice. Just like a typical Hampton. Lobby smelled clean without any perfume scent thing which is typical for Hampton and one of the things I love about them. Rooms are nice and clean similar to all Hamptons. One of the things I was very disappointed with was the hot tub. I was looking forward to sitting in the hot tub when I got to the hotel at the end of my day. However, the hot tub is the smallest hot tub I've ever seen at any Hampton or any hotel ever. Literally big enough to fit two people. That would've been OK except for it was full of bubbles which either means it's very dirty or someone put soap of some sort in there. I stepped in up to my thigh. The water was lukewarm. Jacuzzis are supposed to be at least 102° to help. Keep bacteria growth down. This Jacuzzi wasn't even close to that temperature. I decided not to go in to gross for me. The pool is ice cold. My biggest disappointment besides the Jacuzzi was the workout room or maybe I should say nonexistent workout room. There were three workout machines. One the treadmill was broken with signs on it, saying it was broken. So their were two workout machines. One elliptical and one peloton bike. A couple of bouncing weighted balls and that's it. Very small and disappointing. No weights. As far as a good nights sleep, the room was nice and clean and quiet. One of my biggest disappointments with Hampton. Is they charge you for breakfast in the morning. However, I have many allergies and can't eat anything in their breakfast other than their plain oatmeal. The eggs have milk, the sausage has all kinds of crap in it, etc. , I'd rather see no breakfast and a Discount or something a little healthier like how about just plain scrambled eggs without any crap in them? I want to add, even though I was very disappointed with the hot tub in the morning. I noticed all the cleaning that was going on, which was really impressive. The public lobby bathroom, thoroughly spotless, and beautiful. I left my coat in my room by accident and had to go back in after I checked out. It was cracked so they already have been in there to clean or start to clean. And there was an abundant smell of Lysol, which means they were sterilizing the room, I appreciated that. 5 star for cleanliness and friendly staff.

Four nights in this property, which is convenient at the far end of Gettysburg away from the downtown area but right near the US15 highway. Plenty of parking and located next to a Walmart and a Ruby Tuesday. As a Diamond in the Hilton Honors program, I was upgraded to a larger sized room that was quite comfortable and closer to the end of the hallway than the elevator. Firm king-sized bed, work desk, large flat panel television, mini fridge and microwave, coffee service and a comfy chair for watching the television. Breakfast in the morning is the usual Hampton style with eggs and a breakfast meat, pastries and breads for toasting, waffle maker, oatmeal, juices and fruit, cereals, and yogurt. Coffee is on all day. There was very little noise from neighbors, from the hallway or from the outside of the property. It is not the most modern Hampton I've stayed at, but it represents the brand well.

Everything was checked out online via Yelp, which was a nice confidence boost. I didn't want to make a mistake and end up with a nightmare stay. Next, the parking and the front desk entrance are at the rear of the building. It has a fascinating history. Throughout the hotel, there are historical paintings of Gettysburg. The restaurant that was part of the inn no longer serves breakfast, so we had to drive out for a bite. However, we planned to visit the battleground early in the morning, so this was no big issue. Also, please ignore folks who repeat what they've heard about ghosts at the Federal Pointe Inn. Besides, historians often write these people off as less reliable, and their accounts are open to individual interpretation. Like the game, you see on TV where folks sit in a circle, and a person would whisper something in the ear of another person, who would whisper it to the next and so forth, and it virtually had no resemblance to the original. Well, that sums up ghost stories. So, don't allow ghost stories to deter you from staying at the Federal Pointe Inn.

I was flying solo, so I stayed in the smallest (cheapest) room - Violet Room - and it was nice if not huge. Bed, bath, etc., were really nice. Room does have TV and wi-fi, but I was "on vacation" and did not use them that much. Mornings I went down, grabbed coffee, and sat out on the 2nd floor balcony reading and enjoying the view of the yard. Weather was great this visit, and this was hard to beat! The public spaces in the inn were plentiful on both 1st and 2nd floors, and I felt very comfortable. Gaslight's location is in the heart of Gettysburg, and everything but the battlefield itself is an easy walk. That included places to eat and get ice cream. I preferred this to being farther out, driving around, finding parking, etc. Hosts - Mike and Jennifer - were great, friendly, answered all questions, and helped with anything I wanted. If you are looking for a 9-room B&B experience with other nice people, want to enjoy the heart of the town of Gettysburg, and do not need a mega-hotel, the Gaslight Inn should be high on your list.

A Review of the Brickhouse Inn, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania (in the Style of 1870)…read more During my recent sojourn with my wife to the historic town of Gettysburg, we had occasion to lodge at the esteemed Brickhouse Inn, a house of most commendable character. The establishment itself is of handsome construction, its brick walls bearing the quiet dignity of years well kept. The chambers are appointed with tasteful elegance, and though we have, in our travels, rested upon beds of somewhat greater softness, the comfort of the accommodations was by no means wanting. Yet it was at the breakfast table that the Inn's true excellence shone forth. The morning repast, prepared with notable skill by Mistress Patty and served by Hannah, was of such quality and abundance as to dispel any minor discomforts of the night. Their attentiveness and mastery of the kitchen rendered the meal a delight of the highest order, and I found myself most grateful for her gracious service. In sum, our stay proved exceedingly pleasant, and we departed with a sense of satisfaction and goodwill toward the proprietors. The Brickhouse Inn stands as a worthy refuge for the traveler, offering beauty, hospitality, and a breakfast most splendid indeed

Then finally in the morning I wanted to confirm they got any of the emails, and finally one came back. Communication isn't the greatest. Also, the parking is horrible. If each room has a spot. There should be a sign that it is that's room parking spot. There is no signage and if you get there in the dark your screwed to even know it the right parking lot. I had high hopes for this B&B but it definitely fell short. If you're looking for a "spooky" place this may be it. It all seemed a bit fake to me. I did appreciate the 2 fake fireplaces we had in our room. It hit under 40 over our stay at night, these were great. If you have neck/back problem-bring your own pillows or whatever you need. The pillows reminded me of the deflating hospital pillows. Also, there's a shareable hot tub and we didn't know about it. Maybe because it was off season, things weren't running smoothly? Not sure.
