Comfortable and friendly place to stay in a great location adjacent to the cemetery (hope you aren't freaked out over that). We stayed a couple days to take in the battlefield education and experience. Room was large, clean and had all the expected amenities. The front desk was very kind helpful. Big bonus for us was the breakfast downstairs each morning so we didn't have to hunt for food in town. It is located just outside of the main downtown touristy streets, and right on the beginning of the historic tours for cars or to grab a professional tour bus. read more

Stayed just one night at this hotel located near the cemetery. We stopped in a few hours before check-in to ask if we could leave one of our cars in the parking lot until check-in time. The staff member was super accommodating, had no issue with it, and actually tried to check us in early if the room was ready. The lobby was decorated nicely, seemed clean, and was brightly lit and spacious. The room itself was clean, as was the bathroom. The shower took a little while to get as hot as I wanted and the pressure was never great. We didn't partake in the breakfast the next morning, but the set up looked pretty expansive. I saw yogurt, eggs, assorted baked goods, fruit, and a waffle station. Several families expressed interest in the indoor pool, while we were checking in. Would definitely stay here again. I stepped into this hotel with high expectations and for the most part they succeeded. This hotel is very good for the price, as I entered there was a very spacious lobby with a pool a "gym" (very small) and a breakfast area. As we got the key and entered our room, the room was well kept beside from the ant army that covered the desk and were crawling everywhere which we ignored. Other than that this hotel was good. Wish I could give a 0. Called at 10:37 this morning to make a reservation and spoke to a lovely woman who gave me a price. Needed to confirm with others that price was ok. Called back and extremely rude, condescending arrogant male answered. He quoted me a higher price . Told him about the call earlier he told, "You didn't call here earlier. I was the only one here.". I confirmed the telephone number (I checked on my cell phone to make certain it was the same number) and gave him the I called as well. "Nobody here gave you that price. Like I said, I was the only one here." And asked me if I wanted to Make a reservation or not. I said I did. I explained that I am a choice privileges member, military and a Gettysburg foundation member. I wanted to make a reservation for 3 adults. He told me he'd never heard of a discount for Gettysburg Foundation Members and he wouldn't honor it. "I don't even know what that is". He gave me the same price he'd given before. Confirmed that it was for 1 room, 3 adults and included military pricing and that I'm a choice member. He was rude in his questioning and made several insinuations that I wasn't being truthful. I provided my credit card number and asked about the cancellation policy (- he was being so obnoxious I was considering not staying there.) "Just give me the expiration date on the card." He sent me a receipt via email, I confirmed I'd received it and he hung up on me. No good-bye, thank you, etc. About an hour later, I printed the reservation confirmation and realized, although I'd asked for a double room with pull out sofa for 3 adults he made the reservation for 1 adult in a double Room with pull out sofa and made it with an AARP discount - which I don't have and never asked for! I called the choice privileges number to correct his errors was told the price would go up (again) and significantly. Was told if I had shown up At the hotel with 3 people and without an AARP card, I would have to pay the "going rate" of the room. Rude, obnoxious staff at the hotel. Possible bait and switch? I selected this hotel on line for 3 factors - indoor pool, hot breakfast and comfortable beds. All three of these things were not as I hoped when I made the reservations for 2 identical rooms. The cost was about $250 for both rooms and the location was central to the historic battlefield. The indoor pool was small but that was not the issue. The pool was absolutely freezing. Apparently the pool heater had been broken for long enough that it was a total ice bath, and being inside there was no sun to take the chill off. My little granddaughter was so cold after a very brief dip that we had to put her in the warm bath tub to warm her up. An indoor pool that is unusable in August might as well be closed, and advertised as unavailable so we don't get our hopes up and/or find another accommodation. The hot breakfast in the morning consisted of continental offerings like bagels and mini muffins. The premade french toast could be warmed up and wasn't bad for toaster french toast. This is definitely not what qualifies in my mind as a hot breakfast. A hot breakfast means hot items like eggs, bacon, oatmeal, hash, sausage, pancakes, potatoes... you know what I mean. Now with Covid I get where maybe the pool had been closed and the hot meal wasn't possible. But both were advertised as available, so I expect the pool heater to be operable and the breakfast food items to be hot. The rooms were clean and large, but the mattress on one of the beds was completely unusable. It was so sunken in the middle that it was only possible to sleep on the very edge of the mattress. The other bed in the room was almost as bad, but the small child in the sunken center did not mind it as much as the adult trying to sleep on the edge. Surely whoever is making up those beds knows very well the condition of those mattresses. The remote for the TV was a cheap Dollar store remote with no features to use the television beyond basic channels and volume control, even though the TV itself was a nice modern unit. Being located in the battlefield area of Gettysburg they are likely mostly unmotivated to address deficiencies because there is a steady stream of visitors who likely only spend one night there. As for us, getting 2 rooms with 2 of the beds essentially unusable, there is no way I can give this hotel more than 3 stars, as much as I would love to. read more

I am a spooky person, so being able to stay in a room with this kind of view was really cool! Hotel staff was super friendly at check in, I checked in late in the evening as I was driving through for business and just needed a place to crash. I honestly wish I had booked another night because it was a really nice stay. Breakfast was good in the morning and they extended my checkout time no problem so I didn't have to rush out since I got in so late. I am giving this a one star review for multiple reasons. Before I list them, I want to make clear that the front desk staff who were there were fantastic, particularly a lady named Liz. Also, my wife and I stay in hotels quite often. As a matter of fact, in the 10 days prior to this hotel, we had stayed in 2 hotels in 2 different states. Neither hotel had as many issues as this one. My wife and I stayed there this past weekend, August 11th-12th. The hotel was nice from the outside and the lobby. We opted for the best and most expensive room - the king suite. It was nice until we started looking around. To begin, the sheets were paper thin and exposed the mattress underneath. There was hair on both the sheets and in the bathroom. A light bulb was burned out. A general layer of dust was on the surface of the room. Overall, these things are understandable and were not really much of an issue. If this was the only problem, they would have a 4 star rating. The issue I had was the Jacuzzi and the black mold. Yes. Black. Mold. I turned the water on and black floaties were coming out of the jets. I looked and ALL of the jets had a black buildup in them. Repulsive. We called to speak to a manager and one was not on the premise. We were told she would be back Sunday. She didn't come in. We were given her card and called when we left leaving a voicemail. No response. We called again on Monday and were told she was in a meeting and would call us back. Today is Wednesday and we still haven't heard anything. I am not going to say her name, but I am appalled at the fact that she refused to even call us back, especially since our issue has to do with something that can cause severe health issues to other patrons. So many things to report about this place sadly nothing good to report. Staff: upon my arrival in the evening I was greeting by a front desk person who said nothing to me just looked at me. So I said I had a reservation at which point she looked it up tossed me a set of keys and I was on my way. I don't think a hello is to off the mark for a front desk person. First Room: upon getting in room things seemed ok and looked fine just a little dated. AC unit don't cool to 60deg and the room was a little warm. Water pressure was terrible in shower. Our second night in room the toilet broke. Called front desk 6 times now answer. Then I went down front desk and waited 20mins finally the same friendly person who checked me in shows up. I am told there is nothing that can be done to fix toilet. So she offered us another room. Now I had to pack everything up at 9:00pm at night to move to a different room. Room Two: so first impression of room was similar fairly well kept slightly dated interior. A/C has similar issue not cool enough. However I think we can stand this room for two more nights of our stay. Breakfast: this entire experience is a joke and the best thing they should do is just eliminate it like they did the pool and blame it all on covid. Housekeeping: we are staying multiple days it's clear they know how to clean rooms and a good job. With covid they are only cleaning when you leave which is fine. However you have to go to front desk to get items. The only thing our evening front desk person would give us was towels. We could not get a bag for our ice bucket on the second night claimed they were out which is a joke. Overall: I would say the rooms are ok the price is fair. Based on the treatment by the person who works the evening shift on front desk I would recommend you try another hotel. Covid Response: I forgot to add this all the front desk people seemed to follow covid procedures. I noticed several times other staff were walking in the hotel not wearing a mask. Cleaning personnel were also observed not wearing gloves when cleaning dirty rooms. read more

I was initially going to leave more stars even with the broken light and hot room, but that was only because the woman who checked us in was so pleasant. Unfortunately, when we went to leave today I stopped by the desk just to make them aware of the broken light bulb. I showed the woman the picture and she kept insisting that she has no idea that light bulbs could even do that, how could that even happen? I felt like she was accusing me of doing it when I said that I found it when we tried turning the light on at bed time. I do realize that some people would say that, but why would I intentionally stop by with a photo of a broken light bulb and make up a lie? This hotel really needs a renovation. Badly. The location, right down the street from the visitor's center of the military park, is great. Parking is free. There are sufficient carts for you to roll your luggage in and out. But those are the only two good things about the place. The room needed a thorough cleaning. There was no remote for the TV. The room contained a loveseat that looked and smelled like it had come out of a frat house, with busted springs and a dirty upholstery. The fitness center, about the size of a closet, had an off-brand elliptical machine, some dumbells, and a treadmill. That's it. If there are two people in there it feels crowded. The TV in the fitness room was nonfunctional also. The pool was the size of a postage stamp. There is no guest laundry, despite that amenity being absolutely standard at a hotel of this type. I actually didn't mind the fact that our room was a stone's throw from the abutting cemetery. It made for some good poltergeist jokes. read more

Easiest location, easiest access. Super easy check- in with a knowledgeable associate. She provided us with local knowledge about where to go and eat. Our room, a Suite, had the perfect amount of space for myself and 2 kids, plus grandparents. WE all had beds to sleep in and even a pull out couch, if needed. I wish we had one more bathroom, but we worked out a rotation. I was pleasantly surprised to see the cemetery right outside our window. Super creepy, but very cool. The housekeeping service was quick and efficient. We required extra towels with zero issues. We didn't get to use the pool, but it looked inviting. The beds were amazingly comfortable. I didn't want to get up there next morning Breakfast was easy enough with coffee and hot chocolate, yogurt, pastries, and the batter for waffles. The coffee cups are child- sized, so we required multiple cups of coffee. The omelettes were made with a processed cheese, no plain eggs. If you don't like cheese, you can't eat eggs. Note first that there was a "pardon our mess"-type sign upon entry, indicating a remodel in process. I didn't see any indication of remodeling, which is good, right? I did, however, notice immediately that the rock wall I've seen in many pictures that divides the lobby from the breakfast area is no longer there, nor is the stationary bike in the gym. Check-in was fairly quick. Not much interaction. Breakfast area is rather small, but sufficient. Pool was small, but clean and just the right temperature, with plenty of towels and chairs. Pros: Right up the road from Gettysburg Military Park. Beautiful building and scenery, situated on a hill (although so is the parking lot, so be careful with anything on wheels ie luggage cart, strollers, etc). I appreciated (and utilized) the vending machine on the first floor for snacks (the floor we were on only vended drinks). Clean, spacious rooms (we booked 2 Double Queens suites). I like the extra pillows and blankets stored in the closet. I consider the view of Evergreen Cemetery a plus. Beds were phenomenal! I slept SOOO good! Checkout took like 10 seconds! Cons: I called a few days ahead, inquiring about a pack 'n' play for my 6 month old granddaughter, and was told she has never had anyone request one, but that they do have just one, but she couldn't reserve it for us (so we bought a portable pillow-type bed, just in case). We checked in 20 mins past check-in time, and it was unavailable. Having just one, small, slow elevator was a hassle. We opted for the quicker route: the stairs at the end of the hallway. The eggs on the breakfast were ok, but I wish the cheese were optional (they were scrambled, circle, folded in half, with cheese in the middle: like a taco-shape). The juice machine has 3 options: apple juice, orange juice and apple juice.. it seems the third should be something different One of our rooms (414) had a broken air conditioner. We set it at its lowest setting, but the compressor kept shutting off and blowing warm air. In this same room, one of the bed frames was broken on one side, which made the bed lean, the bathroom door handle and lock was broken, so that it wouldn't lock, and the freezer compartment door was frozen shut, making the freezer inaccessible. The curtain was broken in the other room (412) (the pull rods were not attached) so that it wouldn't close all the way, window had a few prints and smears, and there's an area under the couch where there is a bottom layer of carpet exposed. Both rooms had low water pressure for the shower, fridges needing defrosting, tiny, old microwaves, and small coffee pots in the BATHROOM. One minor con, I was looking forward to the shelf with a plant behind the couch seen in photos online, and they were no longer there. read more

The hotel is near the battlefield, they have breakfast and H2O in the lobby. The lights in my first room were broken and the fan was loud so we got another room and everything worked good. The people are nice and caring. There is a restaurant below the hotel. You can walk to the battlefild and the restaurant. I stayed here on a weekday night in October which I am assuming is the off-season. They were offering deals below $70 a night. Literally a 5 minute drive by car to the Gettysburg National Historical Battlefield Visitor's Center and less than a 10 minute ride to downtown Gettysburg, it just does not get any more convenient than that. I considered the location the hotels greatest selling point. The visitor center is where you buy tickets for Eisenhower Farm and the Gettysburg Battlefields. The grounds are landscaped and they have an inviting lobby with fireplace, comfortable seating, large flat screen TV and a business center (computer, copy, fax) just off the lobby. I did find the wifi slow at times. They have a heated small indoor pool and workout gym. The gym is also small with a treadmill, dumbbells and an elliptical machine. The continental breakfast was sufficient with scrambled eggs, sausage, cereals, waffle maker, oat meal. fruit and yogurt, small Danish, juice and coffee. Breakfast was available from 6 am - 9:30. The seating area was colorful and inviting. There are 4 floors and I choose the top 4th floor. The rooms are large and some updating could be done. Renovations and repairs could be seen in various locations throughout the motel. Elevators were slow. There were two King size beds which were very comfortable. Each bed had three pillows with extra blankets and pillows in the closet. A sitting area with a love seat, refrigerator, small old microwave, flat screen TV with many channels and great reception. The shower and tub and sink area were adequate. There were some signs of age on the carpet but not much and everything in the room worked. They had an iron with board which I had no need for. The view from one of the windows was a 19th century graveyard which is adjacent to the property. The woman at the check-in desk suggested among other recommendations that we eat at Dobbin's Tavern which has an 18th century ambiance and it was a wonderful experience. read more

First of all, the rooms were VERY dirty including the carpet being ripped behind the bed, dust in the a/c, and stains on the bed and carpet. When it came to the breakfast, it was DISGUSTING. The drinks were very sugary and tasted very artificial. The WORST part of breakfast was the eggs. When eating the eggs, I noticed a bad taste. When going to my seat, I saw that the eggs were in plastic bags since they're FROZEN. Charging the amount it currently is, I WOULD NOT recommend sleeping here and especially eating here. read more

Also, likely haunted. But let's be real - what's not here? Our TV shut off by itself all the time. Things moved around at night... couldn't sleep well one night because I kept hearing things. And our bathtub tap turned on all by itself on the second night. Mentioned it to the staff and they seemed genuinely surprised. Nothing malicious, just kind of annoying when you're trying to sleep. Pros: nice large room that is mostly clean, found some stray hairs and that was easily remedied but still gross. Right next to evergreen cemetery which increased the spook factor a tad, clean bathrooms and relatively close to attractions. Not as close as other reviews would have you believe. You can do better in that regard. Koi pond is cute as is the lemon water and such and the workout room has a treadmill, elliptical, bench and some fee weights. Sufficient. I would not have given this hotel even one star if zero was an option. They advertise and define a single room with two beds as a 'suite.' So I thought I was getting an actual suite. Now I am stuck with myself, my husband, and three teenage girls in one room. And I am paying the same amount as my sister, who actually got a suite. Also, I wouldn't expect my dog to sleep on the pull out loveseat, and yet that is my daughter's only option. To advertise what I have as a suite is deceptive, and that is being generous. This is a pretty typical midrange mo/hotel. The staff was friendly and the rooms were very clean. They have a nice open lobby with a comfy seating area. The location is great - right on the edge of town without being right in the middle of all the traffic. Everything is a quick 5 min drive. It is right on the edge of a 19th century cemetery. We had to crack up because we checked in in time to drop off our bags before our Gettysburg Ghost Tour only to find that the view out of our window 10 feet away was graves. Under no circumstances should you book this hotel! I booked Comfort Suites Gettysburg Battlefield to tour Gettysburg and watch my nephew's football game in September 2022. I booked 2 weeks prior to arrival and chose a rate that was non-refundable, as it was so close to departure. Naturally, living in Florida, a fast-developing hurricane formed and headed for my area. With days to spare, I called the hotel and spoke with a manager named Sarah; I advised her of the situation and told her I understood it was non-refundable and that I did not want a refund and that I had planned to travel up to Gettysburg afterward anyway and just would like the credit for a later date. She flatly said NO! She told me it was a very busy weekend and that she made no exceptions, not even for a hurricane and closed airports. I was scheduled to fly from Tampa Bay, where all airports were closed for days. Obviously, my flights were canceled; I couldn't have made it there if I wanted to, even if I abandoned preparing my home for the coming storm. She had no sympathy whatsoever. One would think she could easily sell the room if it was such a busy weekend. Even airlines allow you to cancel a non-refundable flight and keep a credit for a later date. I have never seen any company, or fellow human being, have this low of compassion for another in all my time, ever; This was inhuman. I lost $659.00 as a result and sustained a lot of damage to my home. Therefore, I do not recommend anyone, not even animals, to patronize this hotel. read more

I had requested a view of the cemetery upon booking, & was pleased that they booked us in a room that did in fact overlook the cemetery. Staff was friendly & professional. Our stay here wasn't horrible, but for the price we paid for 2 days, it was subpar. There is only one elevator to service the entire hotel. The breakfast dining area and pool are both too small to be comfortable if crowded. The continental breakfast was not great. Gross fruit and the other food seemed generic and processed, like it had been taken out of a box and laid out. The fridge in our room wasn't on when we checked in, which was not good, as we had food we needed to store in there. We had to fiddle with the controls to get it to come on and it took 12 hours to cool. It seems like this hotel, while not terrible, capitalizes on the fact that it is located 2 minutes from the Gettysburg vistors center, so people will stay there for convenience, regardless of quality. read more

Great stay. The breakfast is nice for a small hotel, and the fitness center is small but useful. The pool could be a bit bigger, but is a nice, relaxing addition to the hotel. We played music, watched TV, and had a great time in our room, since I was with a group on a school trip. There was black mold in the showers and closet, if you have an option to stay somewhere else take my advice and stay somewhere else the rooms look out onto a cemetery and there are people that look into your room. There was also carpet ripped up, the couch was broken which I fell through when I sat down and there was also poop stains and crumbs in the bed and finally the there was a shampoo bottle inside of the bathroom light holding it shut. read more

We stayed here last weekend while in town to tour the battlefield and do some winery tours. I believe it was Gettysburg College's homecoming weekend so this hotel was fully booked, however, they had a cancellation last minute and we were able to sneak in. We were given a handicapped room so the room and bathroom were pretty large which was nice. The beds were comfy, pillows were nice too. The free wifi was adequate as well. It's right next to the Pike restaurant so I'd suggest going there for a drink before heading back over to the hotel. They did have a decent breakfast spread (eggs,DIY waffles,cereal,bagels,yogurt,etc) although I only went down to see if they had other coffee different from in the room which they did not. Location is perfect for walking into town to avoid the semi-difficult parking situation. Our room looked out on the cemetery so if that is a problem for you,obviously,don't stay here, but if not, this fit all of our needs for our short weekend stay. read more

My toddler and I had caught a cold while we were in the area and housekeeping refused to service our rooms, change towels, and were annoyed about giving us more Kleenex. It's their job to do this for every paying customer that is staying there for a few days. This is a family owned and operated hotel and they are very rude and unaccommodating. Will never stay at this cemetery hotel again. Plus be very careful at the pool. Floors are super slippery and my daughter slipped from walking and I almost slipped myself. I also saw another boy slip from just walking. It is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Do not stay here. read more
