Really nice and clean, has a great exercise room, which I liked best of all amenities it offered. Area is worrisome at night especially if you need to take your pet to relieve them, but has bright security lights so not too bad. Would of given a 5 star but had asked staff a question but instead of acknowledging the question they walked off, we waited for an answer but didn't come back, we got into the car and started backing out, staff was checking the room we checked out and pointed back to the lobby, but 10 minutes had already passed, oh well, we were already upset, but it wasn't bad, there was a donut shop down the road. read more

Arrived at 9PM and got a nice clean room with a huge bed for a great price. Will stay here again.

We were efficiently and kindly checked in by a woman when we arrived around 8:45pm. The rooms are pleasantly cleaned and well supplied with towels and soaps. I walked down for the 6-9am breakfast and saw people cautiously walking about the buffet of bagels, refrigerated yogurt, waffle maker, hard boiled eggs and fruit. Not a single word of small talk but they give me side eye glances. A couple of teenagers glanced up at me with eerie silence. One teen makes eye contact with me. A warning? Then I hear what my eyes missed. Breaking the silence a grumpy voice speaks loudly across the room reminding a lady upon leaving that she needs to return her key card at the desk. Kindly she responds she will do that. The voice is eventually directed at me and being an adult i turn around and see an impressionable grumpy face, with a fist to his hip, his figure towering over the room like a commander in charge. He sizes me up from my sandaled toes, to my jacket, and up to my face with a scowl. In the same tone he used on the lady who exited he says "good morning. If you want eggs or waffles I will make them for you." Ha! No way. I took my tiny cup of coffee and slowly walked out. Once my husband wakes I will tell him we need to get out of here. Addendum: husband tells me it was only $80 for our one night stay. Kudos for keeping the place affordable! I upped my review by a star and will dismiss the morning scrutiny, laughing it off as a kitschy vacation moment. Come here for the cleanliness, brightly lit parking lot and the affordability but be forewarned that breakfast time is not a social event. With the location and type of business I can sympathize for the cause of scrutiny. read more

This place is an absolute dump, not worth the price. The tv didn't work, the phone didn't work, the fridge was left open before we arrived and also did not work. None of the USB ports worked, the lady at the office said the room had a privacy divider it did not. Towels looked dirty, bathroom looked grimy. And the wifi service sucks. The bedding felt nasty. The people running this are very nice. Unfortunately the location is questionable. Breakfast was pretty good, the eggs were real, not powdered!!! Although everything is highly monitored, we were afraid to do something wrong. The bathroom was by far my biggest issue. No hooks, no shelves. Where are guests supposed to put their things?? The Good: *Very inexpensive as we were able to book a room thru booking.com for $81/night (that's w/ taxes and all applicable fees). *Currently serving breakfast 0600 - 0845 daily *DirectTV® w/ HD programming  *Recently remodeled rooms w/ USB ports built-into the nightstands. *Microwave & fridge in each room.  *Water pressure isn't great but at least it's hot.  The Meh: *32" HDTv which is a bit small for a room this size but the quality was nice.  *Internet speed is not great but didn't have any issues doing normal stuff (didn't stream any video) *Gym closed due to The 'Rona® *Pool closed due to The 'Rona® *Check-in service was a bit curt, but at least she was expeditious. The Ugly: *Bed and pillows could only be considered as such in the loosest definitions of their respective words.  *Coffee "machine" is a fucking joke--and they only had decaf?! This is a great road trip stop for the price. Room was clean with a good shower and quiet AC unit. Free breakfast with made to order eggs and waffles (topped with fresh blueberries and strawberries). Owners were very nice and accommodating. No traffic noise whatsoever. read more

Room: 3, staff: 4, breakfast: 2 We stayed here based on Yelp reviews giving the Rodeway one of the highest hotel ratings in Barstow and the numerous comments about the great breakfast here, but didn't have an experience resembling these past reviews. The room was clean and pleasant and as expected for this chain of hotels, although it would be nice to have removable hangers, a coffee maker, and bathtub without red marker lines on the walls. The parking lot is very well lit and they have security cameras as well. This is a pet-friendly hotel, but I wish the owner of the cat that yowled off and on all night long would have had a room further away. This is the second Choice hotel in a row we've stayed at to advertise a free hot breakfast where the only hot item was the waffles. We were looking forward to eggs this morning but the only eggs they had were hard-boiled on ice and they were all gone within the first 6 guests. Certainly no one cooking eggs. There were instant oatmeal packages in several flavors. Not sure how this qualifies as a "hot breakfast". If you love carbs and sugar, this is the place for you. In addition to waffles, there are different cereals, bagels, bread and jam, muffins, Costco-sized tub of mini cinnamon rolls, hot chocolate, and juice. The one plus, and it's a strong one, is that gluten-free cereal and oatmeal were available. This was the first time we've gone to any hotel in the past 5 years the immediately understood and had provisions for those on a gluten-free diet, so kudos for that! read more

This has to be one of the nicest and private inns I've been to. Great customer service and informative information and discounts for dining at certain places for staying at the inn. Clean rooms, spacious, Wi-Fi, nice comfy bed, nice view. The best part was free breakfast. They had a variety of things to choose from and it feels like a homey place. read more

My husband and I enjoyed our stay on the way home from Las Vegas. I found this family-run inn via Yelp. I signed up for a Choice hotel membership, and they had a Military discount. It's a small motel /inn with a pool tucked away in the back (but wasn't open due to the season). We appreciated that we could back up our car right to our room. The bed was super comfortable. The owners were nice and in the morning prepared us eggs whichever way we wanted them plus mini waffles. There was a good variety of breakfast food choices besides that. My husband was into the coffee choices :). The room was very clean and I'm thankful they don't use carpet since that feels even cleaner. If you are going to use the little frig, be sure to turn it on in the back. They are saving on electricity, which I can appreciate, after my last few PG&E bills! I didn't thoroughly read the instruction list that was pointed out when we checked in, and therefore I was puzzled why it didn't get cold. My fault though. Absolutely disgusting. DO NOT BELIEVE THE OTHER REVIEWS! I checked in at about 10:30pm on a road trip almost home to California. I booked this hotel thinking I got the last room at this hotel with great reviews. I walked into the room and quickly realized what a mistake I had made. I was in an accessible room, the only room available which is fine.... Room 101 right next to their outdoor washer and dryer and sink basin. Upon walking in you notice the fridge isn't even plugged in, so there goes all your cooler items. The disgust level is appalling. I immediately removed the comfetor and inspected the bed all the way down to the mattress. There are crumbs on the mattress pad, how long had those been there? The shower was absolutely filthy, other people's hair and leftover body scrubs on handles. We laid down on our own blankets feeling unsafe laying on their sheets. There were stains on the sheets as well. My husband and I staring at each other trying to decide to immediately ask for a refund or try to sleep with one eye open to make sure our little baby doesn't touch anything. At 12:04 am the owner (husband) comes by the washer and dryer using an electric drill with no regard to the people paying $100 for a room right next to him. The fan made this horrible flapping noise all night off and on but was too hot without it. This made sleeping impossible for us or our baby. Waking up to a dead roach on the side of the bed and a live roach running across the ceiling. Not safe for your kids, your babies, not safe for you. I doubt these rooms are cleaned at all. My socks are now filthy as well. BIG YUCK!!! PS: I mentioned this to the owner at checkout and she said really? With a surprised look on her face. Horrible. Horrible. Just keep going!!! read more

The lobby is locked during the day, when we arrived. They buzz you in. (Suspicious). The owner was very nice and pleasant. The room was clean and we had some of our towels arranged in the form of a cute elephant like the pictures. The problem is the area is not safe. Cars showing off and revving their engines with back firing. Lots of stores are boarded up nearby. One of the inside safety locks was broken off the door. The hotel and owner was great, but the location is not safe and I would beware if you want to go out after dark. read more

in February 2025 we were driving by the roadway Inn in California on Main st and saw a homeless guy struggling with a large dog that had a fat chain wrapped around tightly and stuck to its neck. We pulled over to assist the guy, and unfortunately, our fingers were too big. We went in the office of the roadway Inn Hotel and ask them for any tools to help us,the owners were happy to help us. The came out with tools and tried to maneuver it lose , the chain was so tight around this poor dogs neck that she was choking. It was devastating to see The' owners daughter placed her hands in between the chain and neck to help release the dog from being trapped with this thick chain around her neck. This family went well above and beyond showing their kindness towards animals and I'm very grateful that we all as a team worked together to release this dog from her pain and her choking. without hesitation, this family stepped up to help. We are very grateful for them and hope that this community rewards them Somehow !I live down the hill and I visit family up here and I'm happy to say that the owners of the on Main Street are honorable and kind and very generous towards society & animals. This place was clean. The room had plenty of light. Often hotels barely have any good lighting inside. The managers were very friendly and nice. The bed was comfortable. The room had faux wood floors which were beautiful. Nice quartz countertops as well. Haven't had some really awful experiences in the past with Wyndham hotels this was a breath of fresh air. I would definitely stay here again if I was passing through. The only drawback was that they had two very beautiful dogs, the dogs weren't the problem, the problem was the dog just went out and pooped in the middle of the parking lot. That was kind of gross. It's really a nice place. Clean, good WiFi. The family that owns the place is so kind and friendly. Really close to I-15 and I-40 as well as a Mohave information center. Not too far from Joshua Tree either if you're heading that way. Parking is limited, so try to get there earlier than later. The towels in the hotel rooms are shaped like an elephant. Seriously. I made the mistake once of booking another accommodation, and was very grateful that Rodeway Inn had space when we came in late one night after the other motel proved unacceptable. I wasn't sure what to expect with Rodeway Inn, but what I ended up with was a peaceful night. Once I figured out the air conditioner setting, I was able to fall asleep at a comfortable temperature. They have a gym upstairs! The pool was on the cold side, but during those hot summer days, I'm sure it would have been refreshing. Breakfast was actually really good. Saved me money from having to find a meal somewhere. I had a fresh waffle and some cranberry juice. My boyfriend had yogurt with cereal. The owner is super nice. She does a lot of work around her to make sure this place is running well. It is clean here and does the job of giving you a place to rest during your long travels. read more

Wow, clearly they pay for reviews, because this place was beyond terrible and had good ratings across several sites. My faith in Yelp faltered today. Really hard. Cons Beds felt like sleeping on floor Blankets were from roadside stand, literally had wolves and eagles (tacky but least of the issues) Floor was peeling up 1 ply toilet paper Pillows are hard enough to concuss during a pillow fight Walls super thin and fan wouldn't stay on in bathroom, so we listened to noise all night Floors left socks dirty (we weren't there long) Poorly done remodeling (looked like their cousin did it for free) Site says pet friendly, front desk says no pets (after we paid) Poor lighting, especially around vanity Fridge was not on, so could not keep medical supplies cooled In a crappy neighborhood Water in shower cycled between hot and cold randomly Basically they cut so many corners that they made for a very unpleasant stay. For a similar rate, stick with the Comfort Inn, Best Western or another bigger name brand. Only nice thing was the staff was polite and water pressure was good. read more
