The reason I chose this hotel is because my 26 yr old daughter with medical issues needed an emergency place to stay between Vegas and San Diego. The first time, 2 months ago, the hotel staff were extremely helpful. I would have given them a 5-star review. They allowed me to pay for the room over the phone by credit card and let her check in with her pet even though she has a different last name than me. The process was smooth as can be. She checked in early, around 11 or 12 am and was able to rest immediately. The room was huge, clean, the staff were friendly and accommodating and late check out was no problem at all. The room was very price friendly. Because of this experience, I joined the loyalty program and have stayed at several in other cities (not as nice as this one). THIS TIME, my daughter had the same medical need to rest and because of the original experience I immediately chose the same hotel. It was the complete opposite experience with the staff. The front desk would not allow her to check in early. He would not allow her to wait for the fist room available by sitting at the pool. He would not allow her to sit in the lobby. He harassed her every step of the way while she was going through a medical emergency. She was crying and he did not care and proceeded to tell her she had to leave. We called repeatedly asking if we could pay extra for early check in and asked can she sit outside by the pool until a room came available. No. He gave us so much trouble about paying over the phone. Made us jump through so many hoops with credit card authorization forms over email and then nit-picked every check box on the form causing more stress and emails and phone calls. After 3.5 hours, she was able to get into a room around 1pm. Our family travels 247 and because of the original experience, they had me as a customer for life which is hard to get out of me. After this last experience, I am considering spending my money elsewhere. All that stress in an already stressful medical situation was unacceptable. We did not get the clerks name but my receipt says "checked in by 'gm'" at 11:26 am, on 3/12/26. That is not the time she got a room. read more

The continental breakfast was decent/standard. The customer service received from all of the staff that we encountered ranged from just OK to very nice/professional. Comfortable family friendly hotel to stay when traveling through California. We stayed two nights recently over the holidays & enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had plenty of space. I liked the the suite we stayed in had a regular tub/shower and a spa style tub both of which were very clean. The breakfast was great two, both mornings we stayed had a different breakfast which is nice because that doesn't happen often. Staff were friendly. This place is pretty good. Especially since the hotels in Vegas barely got any racks or hooks for your towels/clothes. Don't be fooled by the glamor. It is sin city after all. But this CS (not counter strike gamers!) is pretty good! It came with a sofa bed with was also missing from our worldly hotel in Vegas. And did I mention the free hot breakfast with waffle iron? Our stay came with breakfast saiyand eggs and biscuits/gravy! Stilll nicer than the expensive food in Vegas. O really don't recommend Vegas at all. On our recent travels, we stayed for a single night here. I have to say my biggest disappointment was other pet owners who don't clean up their dog poop. These dog owners are the reason that it's few hotels will allow pets. Perhaps if this hotel would have a designated pet area, provide poop bags and a trash receptacle, that would help a lot. It was difficult to find an area to take our dog for a potty break to avoid dodging poop piles. The rooms are not well insulated, so you heard every sound from the hall and the rooms adjacent to you. The bed was extremely hard, hard as like sleeping on the floor. The hotel charges a pet fee, the least they can do is keep their grounds clean and provide poop bags and trash receptacle to help keep their grounds clean. read more

Stayed here last night with my 2 daughters on our way to head east. The outside of the hotel is well lit and well maintained, so it's easy to find. This was our 2nd time staying at this hotel. Parking does suck here, especially if you get here somewhat late. It wasn't too big of a deal since my room faced the back of the hotel I could park my car under my window so I could see it from the room. The hotel is basic, but well maintained. Breakfast in the morning was simple but everything was fine. The room had a nice big bathroom, and was laid out pretty nice. Prompt check in and check out. Friendly staff. Very clean with a lovely lobby with fireplace. Spacious rooms and nice breakfast. Easy on and off the I-15. I have stayed here several times over the last 18 months and appreciate the clean, spacious rooms, free Wi-fi and parking, and in-room coffee and fridge, but there is one glaring issue. Last year a new owner of the place decided to not have any maintenance support outside of 8am to 5pm. Since most guests do not check in until after 5pm many issues (such as problems with the elevators and plumbing issues) do not emerge until after the maintence person leaves for the day. There was nothing "comfort"able upon our arrival, which truly soured our stay. Booking our reservation, we asked explicitly whether we would be charged ahead of time, or upon arrival, and was duly confirmed we should be charged upon arrival. Told them we would be checking in late, when to expect us, and provided any necessary card & contact info for any other concerns. Even received a confirmation email, everything properly communicated ahead of time. When we entered the building, the very first words out of the overnight Auditor, Shila's mouth, was to spit out we had lost our reservation, and our card had been run and declined. She was extremely hostile, her behavior resembled that of an entitled child; told us had she had any other customers, she would have happily sold our room, it's not their responsibility to notify you of a card decline, not their responsibility to ensure the reservation, not on her to treat us with an ounce of respect or service, until my partner swiftly pulled out his card (the same card) and settled the bill. At this point there was no apologies for the rudeness, or the crude behavior; was given our keys and within a single breath Shila explained the amenities before focusing elsewhere. We would not have stayed the night if there had been A N Y other rooms available around the area. The rooms; they are honestly pretty clean, there's privacy, the fridge is a larger bachelor's fridge. They provide teas & coffee, the bed decent, the bathroom and A/C was a blessing under the mess of check-in. The only complaint regarding the room was the Cold and Hot water was reversed in the shower and the walls are pretty thin. Nothing settled through management when we addressed our concerns in the AM. He was kind to listen and offer an apology, but it seems we were not the first to complain about their Night Front Deskman Shila. Seemed very used to accepting complaints regarding her. I am happy to report we will be seeking "comfort" elsewhere. read more

T te o say we made it in around midnight everything was everything. E were greeted upon arrival and checked in promptly. We were tired after that drive from LA sitting in over an hour of bumper to bumper traffic. Our room was on the first floor at the end of the hall. It was very nice, clean, neatly decorated and stocked with towels.. it was very peaceful and we were able to sleep comfortably. Thankful for the big tv to catch a movie before falling to sleep. The pricing was very reasonable for a night. We will stay again if we are back in this area. I like the fact it's close to the interstate and their is plenty spots to eat and shop if need be. This is the second time I've stayed at this location. The rooms have been immaculately clean both times. I love the big screen tv's they have in the rooms. The free breakfast is pretty standard but still good with a few more options than most. Staff is very friendly and professional. Quick exit off the interstate but doesn't have the noise that typically comes with being so close. Will be making this my regular hotel when I'm here. read more

I'm writing this review for the very small percentage of travelers who suffer from environmental illness / multiple chemical sensitivity. My friend and I, who both have EI / MCS, stayed here recently. Here's what we noted: Pluses: No detectable smells in the room, no fragrance, not musty, linens not washed with scented laundry products. (Disclaimer: We didn't use the HVAC at all and hotel-provided toiletries were scented). Our window, which overlooked undeveloped desert, opened all the way so we were able to have clean fresh air. Complimentary breakfast buffet offered enough variety that even a food sensitive, gluten-free person such as myself was able to get a nice breakfast. Rooms include a mini-fridge and microwave oven. Beds were super comfy. Minuses: Lobby area had a bit of autumn-scented (cinnamon?) fragrance in the air, but not so much that we couldn't pass through it or get food from the complimentary breakfast buffet. Opening our window got us fresh air, but it also got us road noise from nearby I-15 (but it was worth it for the fresh air). Our in-room microwave oven stopped working midway through our second day. The jets on the hot tub weren't working, but the hot tub was clean and the water was proper hot tub temperature. It also wasn't over-chlorinated so were able to tolerate it. Overall disclaimer: My friend and I are fairly sensitive EI / MCS people and, although we'd stay here again, we can't promise that it's safe for all others with these conditions. read more

The hotel was fabulous! We had 23 motorcycles with a total of over 30 people descend upon them for a planned overnight stay, and they managed to have two different people up at the front counter so that the check-in process was pretty seamless. The pool was excellent, they had cold ice water and juice available upon arrival in the lobby, the rooms were huge and ours had a Jacuzzi tub along with a regular tub and shower set up! A welcome site to somebody who had just ridden hundreds of miles in 98° heat. Then, starting at 6:30 in the morning they had a hot breakfast which included regular scrambled eggs, bacon, chorizo eggs, a wide variety of toast and muffins and bagels, cereals, do it yourself waffles, and various kinds of coffee and tea with all of the accoutrement. I highly recommend this if you are going through Barstow and need to stop. Also, the Denny's is adjoining the property and the food was fantastic! Yes, Denny's!! If that isn't your cup of tea, there are quite a few restaurants in the strip mall less than half a mile away. read more

This place was great! from the moment you walk in you the front desk clerk greeted us and she was super friendly and scent in there was really nice it reminded us of the Red Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. I noticed how clean and spacious the lobby area was with lots of comfortable seating and computers to use as well. We chose the first floor because we brought our fur baby with us and wanted easy access to take him out to potty. The room was super clean and AC worked great and bathroom was super clean as well. Im always super worried about the bed sheets and i triple checked them and they smelt good and no stains. We didn't use the gym but it was small with just your basic equipment and the pool was nice as well. Breakfast is included with your stay and every was pretty good they offered eggs, bacon, yogurt, sausage, biscuits and gravy, array of cereals, fruits, bagels, pastries, a waffle maker and lots of drink choices. They also have SOOOOO many restaurants and outlets mall right across the street! The reason for 4 stars is kinda minor 1. they had no designated potty area for the pets 2. The shower head pressure is VERY weak and having hair passed my back took forever to wash. OH and their bacon was not edible it tasted like rubber lol. read more

We stayed here as a last min pick being tied from driving, we needed a pet friendly hotel and this place checked all the boxes. The staff was really nice, hotel was clean and they had luggage carts big plus when you have large cat carriers, I did find parking for my SUV with attached uhaul, but most of the long spaces were taken by large semi trucks so you might have to circle around, they do have a extra large dirt no lighting lot spill over.. Room was clean and nice size, the bathroom was nice size for us to put our pets and large carriers and it was quite. The bed(s) were fine and not to firm. The AM breakfast was really good, of course most of the guests had left by the time we went down, but they kept it nicely stocked with food for us and were very nice. Over all very happy with the hotel, and in fact out of the 3 we stayed at afterwards this had the over best rating to us. Now one down side is the curtains in the room, they are designed to stay to the left and right of the AC wide window unit and the thin white see thru ones will, let people look right in, so not sure what they were thinking. read more

Very unhappy with this hotel. We got there late at night. We realized we didn't have heat. They were unable to help us and we had to sleep all night without heat. Because of this, my daughter got very sick the next day. They just didn't seem to care. We were told they just turned on the heat of units and didn't know if they had one that worked. So they gave us blankets and offered to give us some chips for our troubles. The next day the lady said the manager would give us a call and we have not heard from anyone. We have stayed here for many years on our annual trip. The hotel is ok on its own, but the complete lack of help on being overcharged ( by almost 100%!) by the choice rewards is maddening. We have over a dozen calls going in a circle to nowhere. We have given up on help from anyone there and are moving to a credit card dispute. Needless to say that we are finished with this and all Comfort Inns and Choice rewards. read more

We were moving my mans dad from Placentia, CA to Vegas and decided to stop and stay here. We loved it! The rooms were very clean and I mean they were spotless. They are pet friendly so we were able to have our 2 dogs with us. They offer a complimentary breakfast in the morning and it is very tasty! I would have given this hotel 5 stars except that the pool and hot tub were absolutely dirty, the rooms were mostly clean, and the park lot is horrendous right now because of on going construction. There are large containers throughout most of the parking lot and is taking up the majority of the parking. Also because of the remodeling the carpet on the second floor is AWFUL definitely a great way to trip! The carpet is bubbled and coming up through the whole hall and there is a pungent smell. I gave it 4 stars because without the remodel this place would be pretty good. The beds are comfy, the ac works fantastic, the breakfast was decent, they offer wine and beer for a price, and it's in a good area with lots of restaurants and stores around. read more

The five start is mainly for Mr. Sequela Carpenter. We needed a hotel to rest before getting to our destination and found this hotel to be the closest. We walked in at 11:45 pm, feeling uncertain because it's was so late and no reservation. Then we were met by Mr. carpenter. He welcomed us; assisted us in search of a room we desired: showed us where to park and told us all amenities available to hotel guests. The room was perfect, quite and comfortable. NOT SAFE AT ALL!!! DON'T STAY HERE! We were moving from Orange County Ca to Henderson NV & stayed in Barstow for the night. We got there about 10:30pm & had to park our Uhaul in the BACK of the hotel which we were NOT comfort Doing but there was no where else to park the Uhaul! Our lock was cut off the Uhaul & the Uhaul was broken Into in the CHOICE HOTEL PARKING LOT ON THE CHOICE HOTEL PROPERTY!!! I filed a police report & a report with the hotel GM (she is so RUDE) how she's a GM I have no idea! Last year she chased me into the elevator over a mask! I called Choice Hotel Guest Relations & let them know we were robbed & our Uhaul broken into & CHOICE HOTEL said there's NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT & NO compensation was given from Choice Hotel Guest Services or from Comfort Inn & Suites in Barstow!!! NOT OK!!! I'm filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because Guests being SAFE while on Choice Hotel property isn't what they're concerned about!!! Being robbed, stolen from, costing us money & OUR valuable time didn't matter to ANYONE at Choice Hotel in Barstow or Choice Hotel Guest Relations!!! NOT OK AT ALL!!! read more
