Very fairly priced and they offer a nice basic breakfast as well. This location pick and choose which room to give an individual. I'm sure they are discriminating against people. Judging people based on their race or ethnicity. I booked a room with them and the outcome was horrible. The walls, sheets, towels and furniture is dirty. I asked for a simple maid service which was a new set of clean sheets because there was different kind of dog and human hair in the current sheets in the bed all different colors and crumbs and black and brown stains of poop looking stains. The phone in the room did not work at all to contact the front office they disconnected it on purpose. The settings on the swamp cooler are broken they took the knobs off of it on purpose. The floors are chipped and damaged. I felt itchy in the bed of course. I'm sure one side is ran down near the office and the other side is not. This is highway robbery. It doesn't matter if it's a budget friendly place. If someone pay to stay anywhere they should have a comfortable, clean, sanitary with a good hospitality place to stay. This is trifling and unacceptable! Not having someone feel like a filthy slave or a low life in the disgusting rooms that they give them. I'm a very clean and organized person me my children didn't deserve this at all! Will never recommend this location and will never come back! Save your money please go somewhere else. read more

This Budget Inn makes an appealing ad for itself on the FIDO APP. The owners appear kind enough. However, I could not have gotten a more crappier room than room number 302. The towels and washcloths reeked and were so dirty that I had brought towels from my moms that were 52 years old and looked brand new compared to what Budget Inn calls freshly clean. The room is in shambles and while I get the idea is to put people with pets in rooms that are already wrecked this was uncalled for. I stayed only because my kind boyfriend believed the reviews and prepaid for 6 nights. I will not recommend the Budget Inn in Barstow California,to anyone. My dogs are very well behaved. I did not sleep in the bed. I placed one of my clean quilts on top and used one of my blanket. The cost of this room was just under 500 dollars for me for 6 nights and 200 dollars plus 50 dollar deposit for my 2 dogs. The room is a dump plain and simple. The owners may think is okay....but it is not. I remember a time when ownership pride was a thing....I will not be staying here again. If you like dirty rooms and dirty towels.....and maybe dirty bedding...I did not bother to look....this is the place for you. I cannot give this room a single star. The owners, seem kind enough and if any stars are to be given to them it needs to be solely done on the presentation of the rooms. Just because a person has pets does not mean placing them in the trashiest room is where they need to be. The cost of this room was too much. The toilet shower,fridge,microwave and TV get 1 star as there wasn't anything extraordinary about them. Chose this place online because of the pictures of the pancake machine! Have heard about them but never seen one. Checked in later, after 11pm but was greeted by friendly lady. Room was surprisingly nice, nice laminate wood floors instead of gross carpet. Bigger than usual rooms, furnished well, clean. Glad it had a fridge. Nice flat screen tv. Wall mounted noisy air conditioner, didn't bother me though and I could easily hear the tv over it. Bed was super comfy and nice pillows. Breakfast area is in the lobby, not a lot of seating, we were lucky not many there for breakfast. Had scrambled eggs, sausage patties, toast, bagels, muffins, fruit, cereals, oatmeal and pancakes from the 1 minute pancake machine. Juice machine with Orange, mango & papaya, apple & lemonade and coffee, all very nice. Overall very nice place for the price. read more

Yes this motel is on a busy street. Its called route 66. Maybe you've heard of it? This place may have a few quirks. Like the mini frig was not plugged in (to save power?) those things take like 48 hours to get cold so thats worthless. I found my room to be clean with a nice bid bed. No sense of bugs. If you really look that close to items yes the night stand was chipped. And the drawer slides were a little rough. Personally im not that picky. I saw 1 review about dirty towels so i took a pix of a new towel from the rack. I would say you could do a lot worse. The owners could do a few minor things to raise the stars/review but would that raise the room rate? I say leave it be read more

After staying her for more then 3 years as we fixed our properties and transition into real state entrepreneurs,we would stay here ONLY BECAUSE the lady there was sooooo nice and would keep a clean ship,BUT IT SEAMS LIKE THEY SOLD IT TO OTHER RUDE PEOPLE..! This motel is pretty good. The room I stayed in was decently clean and spacious. The bedroom was clean but the bathroom was not as clean. It was nice that they gave us the WI-FI password after checking us in and giving us our room key. It is also a plus that they had free breakfast. The checking room was where they were serving breakfast. Because of this, the room was really small. There were at least four groups of 3 people that was also came to get breakfast and it felt cramped inside. Overall, I felt that this motel was good in service and in quality. The only gripe I have with this place is that they charged my family extra simply because we had three people instead of just two people. read more

The value on this was excellent. The room was pretty small but adequate. It was clean and the bed and pillows were comfy. There was a small fridge and a microwave in the room. Two of the floor linoleum tiles were torn but overall the room was decorated nicely. The breakfast room only had pancakes, cereal and some hard boiled eggs and muffins, plus juice and weak coffee. The so called manager would watch you eat your meals. He explained, the reason why he doesnt ask other people's room number because he knows the guest.. im like are you for real??? I dont recommend this hotel. We even referred our friend to stay, but in return, i felt offended of how he treated me and my family. He even mentioned that you cant have visitors in your rooms.. I'd love to review this positively but they have a ridiculous policy of not allowing you to take the food out of their breakfast area. The proprietor chased my friend who was staying with me outside to stop him. It's not listed in their policies when you book the room, its just posted on the wall in their office. After that they challenged which room we were staying in. Really ridiculously rude staff. Room was ok. Power plugs didn't work in half the room. Could be worse. read more

Must I even give one star. First off when we checked in we told the lady up front we had 3 adults and a child. She said no problem he's a kid he stays free. We unloaded quickly to go grab dinner. Came into old qtips on the floor that did not belong to us, a dead fly in the tub, dead mosquitos on the toilet, stain on the toilet that I tried using a bleach wipe on and didn't clean. Anyways we were just tired from driving 11 hours and needed some rest. We grabbed dinner and came back to our door not opening with the key. No light nothing. Husband goes to the office she reactivates the key we try, no luck. He goes back and the front desk lady comes and tries, no luck. She goes and gets who I'm assuming is the owner. He comes and puts a magnet by the door swipes the card and says uh it works. Like if we were making it up, obviously we didnt because it took other adults who also couldn't get a light or anything. His magnet obviously did something to activate the door. Anyways he left with his attitude. The front desk lady was absolutely nice and understanding. Okay so the night was okay I guess. For what we paid I didn't expect to sleep like a queen. The morning comes and we are ready to head the rest of the way to the coast but we were excited to grab breakfast which they advertise such a good picture on their site and billboard. Get to the desk for the man to rudely start accusing us of having to many people in our room. My husband explained to the front desk lady that we had 3 adults and a child and she said no problem. But still charged us an extra $11.25 before even wanting to check us out. Go to see the breakfast, all they had was a pancake machine and bagels. What a waste of money and such poor customer service from the male worker (owner possibly)! Take your money and spend it elsewhere he is completely rude and unprofessional. So it's now 8:30am and we are hurrying to find a breakfast place to grab something before heading back on the road. I'd give the female more stars if her owner wasn't such an asshole who talked to his customers like they were dumb and in the wrong. Oh and our outside of the door paint was chipped! Our bathroom we found out in the morning has the window which does not lock and has no screen on it, the top latch of the door was completely broke off, no bag for dirty laundry and no bag to get ice for the bucket. The spa tub (room 103) is a really nice way to end the day and the bed is quite comfy (although a second blanket in the room would have been nice). I'm usually not difficult when it comes to hotels, but this one was by far the worst I've experienced in many years. The description said that the room had been soundproofed, but it was not. All night long could I hear the noise of speeding cars and police action in the seedy neighborhood. Also they advertised free breakfast, but upon inquiry in the morning, the manager, still in his PJ's (at 8:15am) barked at me and said that they do not offer breakfast. So don't get fooled with the beautiful photo of a hearty breakfast on their Expedia description. Also, the shower did not work, and there was a big brown stain in the sink, which I can only hope was rust. The back of the TV remote kept falling on me. There was no shampoo, but two conditioner packets instead, and a couple of light bulbs were dead. And did I mention that ice is NOT free. This is a $30/night hotel, not the $67 that I paid. read more

The customer service is amazing especially the front desk I think her name was Nichole she was super nice and helpful with answering all of my questions!! The first 5 minutes in our room I was floored. $50 for a room that nice?? The excitement stopped, however, when I saw 2 roaches on the floor. They quickly hid and I moved to the bathroom. Oh. My. Goodness. I am not a hotel snob. I couldn't care less what it looks like as long as there are no bugs. I am not sure if a window was left open, but there were earwigs, spiders and other creepy crawlies ALL over the floor. My husband killed them and refused to leave so we slept there that night. The hotel itself was okay, but the location on Main St. is very sketchy. We watched some nefarious goings on, directly across the street, with what appeared to be drug deals, and just a lot of sketchy people milling around. I was assured they had no problems, but we took every possible thing out of our car, and still did not feel too safe. Sorry to rank them two stars, but location is a critical element. If the whole operation was located in a safer location, I would bump it up a notch. read more

When in Barstow stay here. It's not too far from the freeway and really central to all places to eat/shop around. Don't get me wrong it's not luxury and it's not going to impress the hotel snob. We picked this hotel based on price and expected a clean room with a comfortable bed which we got. I gave them a 1-star rating because I found that the smoke detector in my room had been disabled by the hotel. It would have been a reason for me to stay elsewhere if I had noticed when I first checked in but I didn't notice it till later. In the lobby I noticed the smoke detector had also been removed. I spoke to the front desk person, who confirmed they removed the one in the lobby and claimed not to know about the one in my room. I believe there is a good reason why fire codes and building codes require these by law. I was not happy to stay in a place that feels they don't need to follow the law. P.S. I also noticed that the security chain on the room door had been removed. FYI. This is the first hotel we stayed at that charges for room ice. read more

ROACH MOTEL!!!!!!!! This place is terrible. It is one of the worst and most filthy places I have stayed in all my travels. I booked a room for a night a while back. A rat would not want to stay in this room. The bed is stained, and I question whether the sheets were changed after finding a short little hair before I retired for the night. The water coming from the tap of the sink (which is in the main room) was brown. I could not get the TV to work. There were brown wall spots that appeared to be from coffee, and a pink stain on the wall - which I can speculate was from some previous guest trying to keep themselves from vomiting. The furniture is beat up and stained. Now the AC, that's something you'll just love.... It appears not to work at first and then the ancient unit proceeds to blow directly on the bed all night at a noise level akin to the take off of a jet. The bed is hard and uncomfortable, and much lower on one side than the other. I noticed a review that that suggested this is the type of place where one brings a hooker. I'm sorry.... a hooker would be insulted. This my fellow travelers is a roach motel!!!! read more

We've been on the road for a week from Portland and this place stands out for value and cleanliness - inside and out. Wish it had been warmer the pool looked so inviting. The room had laminate flooring instead of the usual grimes carpet. This bathroom was newly updated. Plenty of floor space where I could do my exercises. Fridge and micro wave were a bonus we hadn't counted on. Lots of surfaces for our suitcases. A table and chairs where we ate our take out dinner. AND ample outlets for our devices on BOTH sides of the very comfy bed. We almost forgot about breakfast but were glad we didn't. It was a touch above the usual complimentary fare. Too many calories for me but I did want to see the pancake machine in action. The only staff we met was there in the evening and morning and was gracious and professional. The room was clean and did not smell of strong cleaning chemicals. The air was fresh and the room well laid out for convenience. At breakfast we were treated kindly, like we mattered and the food was not gourmet but was adequate to get us going for the day. I would definitely stay here again and would even plan my trip to land at that spot for bedtime. read more
