This business shares a parking lot with my apartment building, and the shenanigans are incredible. I do not know how they stay in business. A friend bought a refrigerator from here, it broke within a month. It then took about a week until she could get someone from the shop to answer her calls. They claimed they didn't remember her, but that they would come fix the fridge within a couple of days, which became a week, which became never. They said there was nothing they could do to fix the fridge, which they had previously "fixed" and sold as refurbished. Thankfully my friend's father came to the rescue and bought her a new refrigerator, but she still went several weeks without one.
They spend pretty much all day, every day spraying out old appliances with a hose. I bet the alleyway is littered with maggots. I refuse to explore that. I can do without seeing whatever it is that they are endlessly hosing down the drain in the alley.
They transport the appliances in pickup trucks and a box truck that they like to park in the middle of the parking lot, making it difficult for the people who actually live in the neighborhood to get in and out of the lot. The roads in this part of Dundalk are all one way, but apparently that does not apply to these guys. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME I'm out there they're driving the wrong way on Commerce Street. We've even told them that it's one way. They care not. The corner of Commerce and Trading is already madness without crazy men driving trucks full of half broken appliances the wrong way.
Look, I know appliances are expensive and some of you are just trying to squeak through until the next pay day, and the idea of finding a cheap stove or fridge is appealing, but don't do it here. You're going to have to buy two, if you buy your first replacement here. Don't do it. Don't. read more
