The repairman diagnosed the problem as a wearing out of a simple part of the motor assesmbly that, given the product design, required a replacement of the whole assembly. The price quoted for the part and labor clearly supported a decision to replace rather than repair the 5 year old dishwasher. But upon shopping for a similar model, I was not satisfied with the currently available options, as none closely matched my other appliances. I recalled the very enthusiastic reviews I had seen of Wooten Appliance in Beltsville (kind of far from me), and thought I'd invest in a second opinion. What a good call that was! Daryl is a pro and a gentleman--extraordinarily skilled, and a person of integrity. He did his own examination and diagnosis, but to save time and service calls he prospectively ordered the part I had been told I needed, with the understanding that I wouldn't be responsible for purchasing it if he did not concur with the prior diagnosis. He did a fantastic job in repairing my machine with a brand new assembly, and additionally cleaned the gasket that had become caked with soap. He taught me what I had been doing wrong for 5 years that had accelerated the soap buildup--and how to clean it. He worked neatly and without making a mess. And he was competitive in his pricing. His receptionist / office manager, Rosemary, was key in this very fortunate save. When I called to request a second opinion she generously and capably facilitated this successful resolution, patiently and precisely conveying Daryl's questions, my answers, Daryl's quote, and my concurrence in multiple phone communications. She is a terrific facilitator. So glad I called Wooten and kept my beautiful and now rejuvenated dishwasher! I recommend Wooten Appliance with five stars, plus.

I had a very disappointing experience with Wooten Appliance Repair. They gave me a clear estimate of before starting the job, which I agreed to. However, after the work was done, I was shocked to be charged double than the agreed upon original estimate. The technician offered no explanation and no reasoning. This is completely unprofessional and unethical. Pricing should be based on the job, not who I am or where I live. I went ahead and paid the full amount. I would not recommend Wooten to anyone looking for honest or transparent service. I feel taken advantage of, and will be warning others to stay away.

What makes this a five star review is what happened today. Our refrigerator stopped cooling. It was already out of warranty, but Crystal (sp?) who took my call worked with me and the GE repair team to set up an appointment to get it fixed. She didn't have to do that. She could have just said, "Here's there number, sorry about your fridge." But, she went the extra mile, proactively called GE, and provided them the details so I didn't have to repeat them. Then, she conferenced us in on a call and finalized the details. This... THIS... this is what outstanding customer service looks like. No, I don't have to do anything for you outside of my usual job, but I'm going to because I value you as a customer and I'm sorry you're having this problem with a product we sold you. I think my favorite part about shopping at Home Depot is that their website tells you where to find everything that they stock: aisle number, section, down to individual item number. Its super helpful, when I remember to use it, and my phone isn't being a cranky piece of crap by not loading web pages. I wish more stores would add the ability to find the item in store to their websites.

I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and even further taking legal action against them. After I fired them from the job, they cashed a check for the additional 2,000.00 costing me a total of 6,000.00 for unfinished, sloppy work where they left CASES of beer bottles around my house, in my yard, boxes of cigarette cartons inside my house, open bags of trash where I had the potential of being fined by Baltimore County and further left my toilets with unflushed feces in both bathrooms that was also on the surrounding walls. Again they had the nerve to cash the additional check that was written to them to fix the problems that never happened and wasted valuable time and money on my end and my wife and myself had to do the painting and cleaning on our own time.
