Came here on a Thursday night for an early dinner and there's a ton of seating around 530pm. I got the Signature Tonkatsu Ramen and it was soooo good! The pork broth was creamy and very flavorful! Service was pretty good and the ramen was enough for me and my toddler to share. They have high chairs which is a plus.... but NO CHANGING TABLE in the restroom! We were in the mood for Ramen and I found this spot on Yelp. The decor was modern and the place was packed at 4:30 on a Saturday. We had to wait 10 minutes to be seated and our order was taken right away. Two couples we shared our table with seemed very annoyed. Both said they had been waiting 40+ minutes for their food. We ordered sticky buns and ramen. Our sticky buns arrived quickly and we had to wait 35-40 minutes for our ramen to arrive. Once it did it was delicious. I don't particularly care for the oiliness of ramen, so I was pleasantly surprised with the offerings Rococo brought forth. The Special & the Cali Green is my families go-to. My favorite ramen restaurant out there. Food wise- 5/5 stars. The spicy Tonkotsu or regular Tonkotsu is amazing and flavorful with a large portion for the price at around $13 a bowl. Bowls are big and I usually have a little leftover to take home. Creamiest and richest tonkotsu I've had with flavor that just hugs your tastebuds and explodes at the same time. They have level 1-4 spice; I love spice and 3 was pretty intense for me I was sweating LOL. They don't mess around with the spiciness of their dishes. Was sad a bowl only includes a half egg because I love ramen with a whole egg; but the amount of filling broth makes up for it! Extra toppings like green onion or bean sprouts seem a tad overpriced at around $1-2 each; whereas $1-2 for extra meat/noodles/broth I'd understand. (50 cents would be more ideal for little veggies like that). Ordered a takeout order one time where soup and noodles/toppings come in separate to go packaging and did notice that the portion of broth specifically and noodles was significantly decreased while I paid the normal price which was upsetting:(. Not a big deal just remembered to always eat in-store from there on. Ambience is nice and the place is always busy in my experience. First tried Rococo about a year and a half ago, and i can still say that it is my favorite ramen place of all time. We've been ordering through Yelp and Grubhub for some time now and we love how easy it is to place an order and just go pick it up or have it delivered. Even during the pandemic, they have still been providing great service and great food. Totally in love with the chef's shoyu ramen and the spicy tuna bowl. The chashu bun came out first. Tasty! It reminded me of something I'd order from a gourmet food truck. Sharing it with a date would be a perfect appetizer. The ramen came out soon after. I kind of wished I ordered the signature first so I'd have a baseline comparison, but I was pretty hungry and the spicy tonkatsu sounded yummy. The broth was rich and creamy with just the right amount of kick to make it adventurous. The noodles were typical, but the meat? . Seared and seasoned just wonderfully with the perfect soft texture beneath the smoky seared edges. I definitely want to try the signature next time. OVERALL The food was great. Ramen was ok- my boyfriend got the spicy tonkotsu ramen, and I got their dipping ramen- both were just ok. We also ordered the 'chef special' wings..the wings looked like they came off of pigeons! You gotta try the shoyu ramen!!!. The soup has deep layers in taste that it was very tasty without a strong flavor. I have to say the shoyu soup is the best in town. Chicken wings and calamaris were pretty good too. The vib was good with Ando Tadao inspired interior (lol) and hip k-pop music. I would definitely come back for the shoyu, specially when I need hangover food!! On the downside, tzukemen's noodle wasn't as impressive. The reason that tzukemen uses the thick noodle is to maintain its firmness ('kata' in japanese) while keeping the texture smooth. However, it was little too rough for me. Recommendation: paitan ramen- a tonkotsu ramen with chicken stock and chicken breast. I'm going to give them another try, BUT... I went there the other day, I tried their tsukemen, and it needs some work. The soup was pretty spicy. I can eat most spicy things, but I know other people wouldn't like it, especially since tsukemen isn't really a spicy ramen. The soup seemed rushed, all the ingredients were there but didn't cook down enough. It actually had the texture of something out of a food processor. Pork slices and eggs were done nice... pork bun needed to be steamed longer. I'm going to go again, try their regular ramens. I have such mixed feelings about this place. The food is fantastic. But our second visit was strange. My salad sat at the pickup (in view of our table) for a very long time, and our server walked past it repeatedly. Later on she brought us our two vegan soups. She was gone before we noticed a half egg placed on top of each of our soups. We tried to get her attention repeatedly. The staff behind the counter saw us, and we saw him tell her about our table and indicating us, but she didn't come over yet. Then another server saw us trying to get her attention and he said something to her but she still didn't come over. Finally the other server gave up on that, and he came over himself. We asked him if this was vegan soup with accidental egg, or if we'd gotten someone else's order. He looked very carefully at the soup and verified it was the vegan soup, and then he said he couldn't imagine why the eggs had been placed on top, because he said there's no egg option with the vegan soup. We were satisfied with fishing out the egg, since it was in one piece and easy to remove, and the fellow was certain the rest of it was vegan. Our actual waitress didn't check in on us until the very end of the meal. It was somewhat comedic having her ask us if we needed anything, since obviously that's what you're supposed to ask early in the meal, not after everyone's done eating. P.S. From this odd tale one would think perhaps we'd made an initial bad impression on our waitress, but it was a short, normal placing-order moment. No unusual conversation or elements. read more
