Rocky's Cozy Kitchen is certainly a well-loved locals joint in Medford. My father is a fan, and we eat there when I'm visiting and shopping takes us to town. Their burgers are my go-to, and on my most recent visit, I sampled the cod sandwich, which was a nice treat. Their tartar sauce recipe is spot-on. Service is relatively fast, and the friendly staff is seems to really appreciate their regular clientele. read more

I stopped in for breakfast and asked for coffee. I also asked for creamer for my coffee. The waitress completely forgot to bring the creamer. I drank my coffee only to get a mouthful of grounds when I got to the bottom of the cup. Service was poor and slow. I ordered a farmers skillet which was horrible. The sausage on it looked and tasted like some ground up dog food. There was hardly any hashbrowns under the skillet. This was my 1st bad experience at this restaurant and I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt. read more

Stopped in for breakfast. Food was good. I had blueberry pancakes, SO had one of their many skillet options. The pancakes were large and had juicy blueberries in them, I ordered them with eggs and they came with choice of potato as well. Yum. SO's skillet was ample and tasty, he reported. There was a constant flow of people through the restaurant, service was efficient, and we sighted Rocky serving food.Good experience overall. Definitely should be higher rated among the restaurants in this town than it currently is on Yelp. read more

I asked around town for the best place to get breakfast. Multiple people said Rocky's, so I figured I couldnt pass them up! They appear to have a full breakfast/lunch/dinner menu all day. I was planning on steak and eggs, or maybe french toast, but I was told the skillets and biscuits and gravy were the best things on the menu, so I figured I'd try both. Food and service were pretty fast, especially considering that there seemed to be only 2 or 3 people covering the whole restaurant. My meat lover's skillet was huge and had a lot of flavor. My only complaint was I asked for a runny egg, and it was not runny. The biscuits and gravy were pretty standard biscuits and gravy, nothing exceptional, but on the other hand, biscuits and gravy are pretty hard to find above the mason dixon line, and they were solidly good. I also got a piece of pineapple coffee cake to go. I was told it was homemade and was prepared to be amazed, but it was just ok. About 2/3 through my meal a gentleman came and sat down across from me and asked where I was from and what brought me to town. I pretty quickly figured out he was Rocky, the restaurant owner, asking how I liked my meal. My total came to around $20 which wasnt dirt cheap but not overly expensive either. I'm not going to go out of my way to come back, but I wouldnt mind returning, either. I'll probably try lunch or dinner next time. read more

Small town diners can be a double-edged sword for us city slickers. They are an entertaining change from the jam-packed impersonal diners that engulf the cities. At the same time, the fact that everybody knows everybody can make for some awkward moments when an outsider invades the inner sanctum. Fortunately, this place gave me a vibe which seemed like curiosity rather than a 'darn city-slickers invading our town' vibe. It's always fun getting to listen in on the local gossip machine in action. The food was better than what I've come to expect from most diners as well. We frequent Rocky's Cozy Kitchen often. I just haven't had the time to sit down and write a review for it. It's our favorite place to go for breakfast in our town, or anywhere for that matter. Nothing beats the Omelet's & Breakfast Skillets that are to die for. We haven't had a bad one yet. They also make it exactly how I would make it at home, but better. And it's just a cozy atmosphere to sit back and relax at. We've also have had their burgers and other sandwiches. Heck, we've even tried their dinners & specials with no complaints. The homemade pies, sweet rolls (have them put frosting on it & warm it up), cookies & muffins are just as wonderful. Whoever bakes them definitely puts their heart & soul into them & they are definitely not store bought. Rocky is a good owner. He comes out and talks to us & the other customers and makes us & them feel welcome. It's such a friendly and cozy little diner. They also have a really great Fish Fry on Friday nights. It comes with your choice of potato, coleslaw, vegetable, and bread. You can sit in and eat, or you can order to go. We will definitely continue making this a regular stop. When we were their at Christmas he also had Santa handing out presents to the children which is so nice to see. Even our boys that are a little bit older got to pick out a present. I'm a bit of a skeptic when I go out to eat, because the women in my family are very good cooks and I have high expectations. On top of that little fact, I'm a big "Foodie"! I like all kinds of food, it it's good... I was extremely surprised when I got a call from Rocky's saying I had won a pie, and what pie would I like to have made for me! My favorite is Lemon Meringue so that's what I ordered! Afterwards I thought, that was dumb because it won't be what I'm expecting. Wrong! It was Excellent! And we have ordered another pie that was also Excellent! I would and will recommend Rocky's to all my friends! read more

Waitresses blowing their noses and then serving food, picking garbage off the floor. Yuck! Sit in view of the kitchen and you can watch the cook scrape food that wasnt eaten completely off customers plates and put it right back into the pot on the stove. Sorry, but I don't eat recycled food. Simply not tolerable. read more
