We got the shrimp skewers and citrus mussels with the curry sauce to die for! We kept slurping up the sauce after the bread was gone! The garlic mayo complemented the shrimp perfectly. We also ordered the forager pizza. With the crispy crust, sweet fennel sausage and the mushrooms - I am in pizza heaven! Hubby ordered a few summer beer and I had the pineapple cider. Both were light and refreshing. Our server provided great recommendations and checked on us frequently throughout our meal. Overall verdict - highly recommend it for causal dining, happy hour or a special meal. Way to support local farms and businesses. Love the outdoor seating which is great in the summer!

Gave us considerable attention and respect. Five service. We sat outside on a beautiful patio nicely decorated with beautiful flowers. Decided to split cranberry walnut salad and it was delicious. Crust was fantastic. Overall taste was top shelf.

Pizza very crispy crust, I believe it's a wood fired grill. Everything was good. Fresh mozzarella cheese for sure! Definitely would go back as I originally was going to get one of their sandwiches but we went all pizza this time.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE -- DO NOT GO TO WAUSAU MINE…read more We were visiting Wausau for the weekend and decided to check out Wausau Mine because it looked like a fun place on the website. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. We were a group of 16 people, including 9 kids. Around 1:30 that afternoon, we called to see if they took reservations. The woman we spoke with was great and told us they could accommodate us. Awesome! A few hours later, someone from the restaurant actually called US and asked if we wanted their private room upstairs because they were getting several other smaller-party reservations. With 9 kids in our group, we were thrilled and obviously said YES. We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation and were seated immediately -- but not in the private room. My sister-in-law and I went back to the staff member who seated us and explained that someone from the restaurant had specifically called us about the private room and that we had accepted it. Their response? There was another party upstairs and they didn't want to "ruffle any feathers." Ummm... what about OUR feathers? We didn't ask for this room. Your restaurant called us and offered it to us. We simply accepted what you offered. Mistakes happen. We understand that. So we asked for a manager. The first manager came over, and honestly, she was great. We explained what happened, and she said she would get her boss. Enter Cindy. We explained the entire situation AGAIN. Instead of an apology or even acknowledging that this was frustrating, Cindy asked if we had filled out the online form. We explained AGAIN that we didn't request the private room through an online form. Someone from the restaurant called US and offered it to us. After going back and forth, Cindy threw her hands up and walked away saying: "I don't know what you want me to do about this." Well, Cindy... honestly? AN APOLOGY. That's it. We weren't demanding free food. We weren't demanding money. We weren't screaming. We weren't asking for anything unreasonable. We wanted someone to acknowledge that the restaurant had called us, offered us the room, we accepted it, and then the restaurant failed to honor what it had promised. Apparently, that was too much to ask. So we asked the first manager if there was another manager on duty. She offered to get the GM, Dan. Dan eventually came over -- after we had already eaten and paid our bill, definitely a coincidence because I noticed him peeking over at us multiple times. We explained everything AGAIN, including how Cindy had treated us and that we were simply looking for an apology. His response? "I'll talk to her." That's it. Someone in our group actually had to ask: "So you can't even apologize to us?" Only THEN did Dan apologize. At that point, we were completely over it and walked out. Unfortunately, the food didn't exactly redeem the experience. It was mediocre at best, and several people in our group couldn't even eat their meals. To be fair, our server was amazing, and the first manager we spoke with was also great. Unfortunately, their good customer service was completely overshadowed by the way Cindy and Dan handled the situation. Here's the thing: Mistakes happen. We get it. But when a restaurant makes a mistake, the appropriate response is: "We're so sorry. We made a mistake. Let's see what we can do." Because here's a wild concept: Sometimes customers just want an apology. We came in with 16 people ready to spend our money and enjoy our evening. Instead, we left frustrated and incredibly disappointed. 0/10 customer service. 0/10 management. Mediocre food. Would not recommend. And we will absolutely NOT be returning. If you're considering Wausau Mine, save yourself the headache and spend your money somewhere that actually values its customers. And Cindy... if a customer is asking you for an apology, the answer really shouldn't be that difficult.

Can't believe I waited for almost 3 years to try this restaurant. Being a foodie from Colorado, I…read morehave high expectations and Thrive delivered in every aspect! Food - farm to table, garden to fork at its best. Plenty of vegetarian friendly items on the menu. I finally settled on the NOLA shrimp after the server informed us the chef is originally from New Orleans. There are so many interesting layers of flavors in this dish that just keeps on revealing itself the more you savor. First bite was citrus followed by subtle heat then delicious savory taste. I literally wanted to drink the sauce! Hubby ordered their signature burger and it definitely didn't disappoint. It was juicy, tender grass fed beef of carnivore's dream. Love the disc shaped fries. Service - very friendly, fast and helpful. Our server knows the menu very well and helped us decide on the food order. Wish they're open more days of week besides Wed-Sat. Ambiance- farm to table, rustic and simple. It really let the food shine as the star of the establishment. Verdict - goodies rejoice! So glad we have this fine restaurant right in central Wisconsin. We'll be repeat customers for sure!

They only had high top seating on the lower level available which is too hard with a heavy boot. So, we just went to a different restaurant. Not a huge deal just hard to plan. Finally, I was able to go & I was excited because I heard some good things when they first opened. They have a nice size parking lot which is great. I love the art for their logo on the building. It looks really neat. We walked in & were quickly seated upstairs. The aesthetic was cozy brick modern vibe and very dimly lit. The only thing that kind of bugged me was they have an open kitchen but block it with generic white stacked plates. It looks just like they don't have the space for their dishware & is just a messy look like dishes are waiting to be washed or something. They definitely are cleaned but that's what it reminded me of visually from kitchens I've worked in the past. I was a fan of the fork sink in the bathroom though & the little statue before walking up the stairs. The bar also is a great size. We started with the Cheesy Cauliflower sticks. This is awesome as the two people I was with are gluten free. They didn't have the garden pesto available that day which I heard was fantastic...so that was a bummer. We got a side of tomato soup, I think. It wasn't very flavorful, so I ate them plain. The garlic sticks were great though, so I didn't totally mind. Just more curious about this Garden pesto sauce now. I also got a glass of wine to enjoy with dinner. It was a low price which surprised me. I was having a hard time making a choice between the Nola BBQ Shrimp & the Honey Garlic Salmon. The server recommended the Salmon, as the gnocchi is fantastic. I will say the salmon was actually the star of the dish and the gnocchi was bland, overly chewy, and not very flavorful at all. My expectations were a bit higher than how things turned out, but I am always willing to give places a second chance. I won't rush back as I don't live in Wausau anymore and have so many other places I want to try when I am home that I haven't yet, but I would definitely come here to sit at the bar and enjoy some drinks with friends.
