I'd never been to this restaurant before. I ordered in the drive through. Finally arrived at the window only to be told they couldn't take my card unless it had a PIN number. Unfortunately, I had no cash and my debit card was malfunctioning. So, I left with no food though I'm sure it was already made and ready. Was in and drove by this place a couple times and stop by while in town looking for something to eat so I stop here and the food was great even the service ...very old fashion and I enjoyed it the burgers and fires was great I will deff be back again to try other thing on the menu and if your in town I say stop by nothing fancy but food is great read more

When I was in high school, I didn't get what the big deal was about Rockys (I mean, they couldn't even get the apostrophe in the name). It wasn't until I was about to leave for college that I finally understood why all the cool kids went there (besides it being the other "cool" place to be besides Sonic and Walmart). It's definitely on my list of places to eat when I'm home. Every time I've been inside, the place has either been packed (especially at lunchtime) or kinda dead. And that's excluding the many, many weekends and holiday breaks I've been in town visiting and Rockys would be randomly closed. Not a fan of the business hours. The other Tex-Mex fast food option in town is Taco Villa (at least the last I knew), right down Gregg St, but Rockys is preferable. My usual order includes several of their cheap burritos (which went up in price, but it's still reasonable) which are even better with their house red sauce. They have a pretty good selection of Tex-Mex and some other options like hamburgers, appetizers like cheesesticks and fast-food-type stuff. The taco salad, my brother's usual, comes with a good amount of meat and veggies, and the shell it comes in is perfect. The other component of my usual order is the fried mushrooms (SO good, and seasoned just right). The fried zucchini sticks are great, too. Some things aren't on the menu, so you kinda have to be a local to know what to ask for. It's a small restaurant with limited seating, and there are a few tables outside. Tables may or may not be clean, especially at peak hours. Parking is limited, leading to the pawn shop across the street putting up towing signs in their lot. They have a "drive-thru" sometimes, which is an employee walking along the line of cars with a notepad, but my experience with it was ridiculous (something like 30 minutes). You're better off going inside. Expect to have a little bit of a wait, but they do make everything fresh. The food is pretty well-priced overall, though it does feel like the owners are stingy. Their policy has gone back and forth on credit cards. I know at one time they had an ATM in there (owned by my friend's dad, so at least he reimbursed me the ATM fee), but the last time I was back, it was gone. That time, they ran debit at the register, but they tacked on a fee for doing so. So, either bring cash or be alright with lumping your order together with your friends if you want to avoid multiple fees (I'm opposed to this by principle; and, who really carries cash anymore?). Some other minor things: Drink sizes are tiny, but they have flavors you can add to your soda. Refills are free but behind the counter, and they charge if you want your refill with the flavor you got- I know because Rocky himself made a point of telling me this when I got one before closing and the register had closed; I'm pretty sure he was being tongue-in-cheek. Adds to my view of them being stingy and letting you know (that and them counting out red sauces for you behind the counter), but it's a local business. If you're traveling through on Highway 84, it's a good place to stop that's not a fast-food chain. read more

I used to love this place as a kid growing up in this town. But when I come back to visit, they have made it so difficult to eat there. It is hit or miss if they are going to be open, the dining room is never open - can only order through the drive through which always has a long line. Then when you finally make it up to the window, they don't take credit cards. Then I had a young snotty girl proceed to tell me there is a sign that they don't take credit cards right there at the payment window. Well, the sign isn't until you finally get up to the window after you wait for 25 minutes in the car line. Perhaps they should post that sign towards the front of the car line so you don't waste your time in the line. But still, what kind of business doesn't take credit cards these days? I don't need to go to a place that makes it so difficult to eat there, and then proceeds to have them be snotty with their customer service. SO disappointed in how this place has gone down hill over the years. It used to be a cool place to go back in high school, but no amount of nostalgia can make me want to go back to that place after this last experience. read more

Ok this is the best place to come for cheap food. Not always the fastest. You could wait on drive through for several minutes before you even place your order. They also charge $2.00 to use your debit card. Its better to just bring cash. That said, burgers are decent. Thin patties roasted buns. It's a burger for less than $3 people. What do you expect? Enchiladas are surprisingly good, not authentic Mexican enchiladas but they'll get you by if you need a quick fix. The club sandwich is one of my faves. Double decker greasy and ham is toasted on the grille. Mmmm. The supreme nachos are also a good choice. Full of ground beef, chicken, refried beans, guacamole, sour cream and jalapeños at your request. The only thing I don't care for is the nacho cheese they use on it. Their "tostados" are basically chalupas. Good stuff, just not authentic. This place never admits to being a Mexican restaurant. It is considered Tex-Mex so they can get by with some of their missteps, i.e. their salsa. Not quite sure what to make of it. Seems like tomato sauce with tons of black pepper and salt. Tortillas used in burritos are machine pressed mass production torts. Tacos made with mass produced taco shells. Once again not authentic, but ok as far as fast food tacos go. All in all this place is ok, not great, not awesome, just ok. They are very consistent and pump out the same stuff they've been doing for almost 30 years. read more

Really a fan! Their chips are the best. If you're in the mood for good nachos or have a craving of guac n chips, this is the place. Best taco "fiesta" salad wth lotza goodies and the tortilla bowl is perfect. Fav burrito - I get a meat burrito platter, add green sauce (hot bot really good), and sour cream. Comes with rice, which is relly tasty not dried out like some places, and salad with your choice of dressing. Tea, probably best brewed in tow, bot they don't offer sweet. My only three negs are hours (really, who closes at 3pm sat afternoon), no sweet tea, and the prices are a little high on certain menu items. They also charge you if you pay by debit/credit card. Food was average and kind of pricey since it was just average. The olace could use a good cleaning as well. They dont take credit cards. Only debit or cash. The staff was nice enough to not make you want to tour business else where. Most likely wont go back. It wasnt memory worthy. read more

Okay, when we tried Rocky's the first time, I was not impressed. To use a card, you have to pay a fee which is ridiculous. I didn't eat there again for years but someone suggested this place again recently and so I tried it again. Their enchiladas are excellent! And the prices are so cheap, I have been there 6 times in three weeks. The food is really good and I recommend eating here. Just bring cash! read more

Ricky's reminds me of local hamburger joints from the 60's The burgers and fries are hot and taste great. So different from food at the mega-chain next door. Taco plate is tasty too. After reading reviews decided to try, that and my wife said it was always packed. Was not impressed, first its fast food like taco bell or taco villa. Both I would have rather of went too. Not sure what some of the menu item were "taco burger?" Profile says they take credit cards. They take ATM/Debit cards and charge a $2 fee. Make sure you have cash. Drinks are filled for you behind counter. Put so much ice in cup 32 oz drink had less that 8 oz of drink.Was a pain to get refills. Price was pretty reasonable but food was so so. Taco reminded me of DQ Taco ok about what you would expect at a fast food place. read more
