Overall the selection is pretty decent...it is nice to have a hardware store of this size in the area (It's significantly bigger than the Ace on 44 in Bolton). Their hours are quite limited, and have often left me running all the way to HD or Lowe's in Manchester for impromptu weekend warrior work...so definitely check their hours or call before showing up. Prices are also a tad high (maybe 5-10% on most things I have bought), but I easily save that in time and gas (when they're open). The parking lot is huge if that's a concern, so feel free to bring a landscape trailer if needed. The people working there are all generally nice, and have helped me load my vehicle with cold patch bags, etc. on more than one occassion.

Kidding aside, I only go there if I'm confident they're going to have what I'm looking for. We're talking rope, a hammer, can of spray paint or an extension cord. If you beat on those day after day, they will probably break. But for a homeowner how needs to use a tool a few times a year, that's perfect. They sell higher-quality options, which will hold up to heavy use and abuse much better. Those are still less expensive that almost anything else, and they are much higher quality. Know what level of quality you need, and you'll do quite well here.

Linda manages Merchandising and Client Services....... she also brings you to the stuff you can't find. The store has a strong Mechanical / Electro Mechanical, Plumbing, Landscaping, Building, Contracting, and Lighting section. If what you need isn't there Linda will have it at your home or job site the next morning. To me it was like visiting my friend's store in Johnson, VT. Family, fun, and your needs met. He filled the tanked only took a little over 2 gallons. I was surprised too because I thought it was empty. So I asked him do I get the difference. He said he didn't know so someone else came down and said sorry we charge fix price per fill. Bring it when it's empty he said. For $10 bucks, you wanna lose business go ahead then spend 5 times more in advertising to attract a customer. Sometimes it's not about the money, it's about how you make your customer feel. I go elsewhere now where I pay by the gallons.

My latest experience was to purchase both a ballast and T12 lightbulbs. I'm not afraid to ask for help and say I don't know something. I didn't even have to wait, someone came over and offered to help me. He told me where I could find ballasts and even said they are giving them away. He tried to first find me something on clearance as he wanted to save me money. When the one I was looking for was not there in clearance, he me the right one, which was about $18. I was looking for LED lights, but he convinced me that this might not be a good fit, today, because they were new and have not come down in price. This light is at the bottom of my stairs and won't be used often so I'll give it a few more months before I address LED lights again. What he gave me was the ability to get my bottom of the stairs lights back, not just a product. Home Depot does it well and that's why this is my home store for hardware.

HOWEVER... delivery was scheduled... the driver called at 11:45 to tell us they would be there in 20 minutes. At 12:00 I received a text stating "they could not complete our delivery" and someone would call to reschedule. WHAT?? Well apparently, due to a storm, there was a tree down on a street in our neighborhood (not ours) and the drivers chose not to detour the ONE MINUTE it would have taken them to go around the block. They just called 15 minutes earlier... they couldn't call me back??? I immediately called the delivery number they gave me and was told the drivers could NOT turn around, and the next delivery date was several days out. I went above and beyond to prepare for this delivery... even putting the old refrigerator right by the door for them. The drivers must be in the business of losing money for the company... after this debacle we immediately cancelled the order and purchased elsewhere.
