Linda manages Merchandising and Client Services....... she also brings you to the stuff you can't find. Both were expert in providing insight and solutions and were clearly highly educated, responsive, and engaged. The store has a strong Mechanical / Electro Mechanical, Plumbing, Landscaping, Building, Contracting, and Lighting section. If what you need isn't there Linda will have it at your home or job site the next morning. To me it was like visiting my friend's store in Johnson, VT. Family, fun, and your needs met. What I mean by fun is the shopping experience......... peaceful and angst-free....... very unusual compared to the chaos filled big box stores. He filled the tanked only took a little over 2 gallons. I was surprised too because I thought it was empty. So I asked him do I get the difference. He said he didn't know so someone else came down and said sorry we charge fix price per fill. Bring it when it's empty he said. For $10 bucks, you wanna lose business go ahead then spend 5 times more in advertising to attract a customer. Sometimes it's not about the money, it's about how you make your customer feel. I go elsewhere now where I pay by the gallons.

My latest experience was to purchase both a ballast and T12 lightbulbs. I'm not afraid to ask for help and say I don't know something. I didn't even have to wait, someone came over and offered to help me. He told me where I could find ballasts and even said they are giving them away. He tried to first find me something on clearance as he wanted to save me money. When the one I was looking for was not there in clearance, he me the right one, which was about $18. I was looking for LED lights, but he convinced me that this might not be a good fit, today, because they were new and have not come down in price. This light is at the bottom of my stairs and won't be used often so I'll give it a few more months before I address LED lights again. What he gave me was the ability to get my bottom of the stairs lights back, not just a product. Home Depot does it well and that's why this is my home store for hardware.

HOWEVER... delivery was scheduled... the driver called at 11:45 to tell us they would be there in 20 minutes. At 12:00 I received a text stating "they could not complete our delivery" and someone would call to reschedule. WHAT?? Well apparently, due to a storm, there was a tree down on a street in our neighborhood (not ours) and the drivers chose not to detour the ONE MINUTE it would have taken them to go around the block. They just called 15 minutes earlier... they couldn't call me back??? I immediately called the delivery number they gave me and was told the drivers could NOT turn around, and the next delivery date was several days out. I went above and beyond to prepare for this delivery... even putting the old refrigerator right by the door for them. The drivers must be in the business of losing money for the company... after this debacle we immediately cancelled the order and purchased elsewhere.

They have flooring, doors, windows, bathroom vanities, tubs, toilets, kitchen cabinets, countertops, and a ton more. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and will help you with any questions you may have. One of my cabinets arrived with a scratch, and the manager quickly ordered a replacement for me and gave me his store email so I could contact him as needed for my cabinet install. It's Home Depot not a nightclub but the plants always seem healthy. Last time I was here there was a confrontation between the police and an Asian gentlemen. I watched for awhile and nothing spectacular came of it. Kinda would say that's the *vibe* for this store. One other time this lady who worked here was rude... I was here right at opening and went to walk in and boy she shut those doors quick. Idk why they were unlocked but I didn't unlock them and thus was a little taken again. Figured that was just a once off. For all of these reasons, 4/5 ... maybe 85/100 if this was a test. We could call it a "B"

They excelled in customer service and inventory. I needed a small section of shelving to replace the warped and bowed pressboard shelf that came with our house. I measured up what we needed, found a suitable replacement (Medium Density Fiberboard) and asked one of their sales associates to cut it to size for me, No problem -zip, zip, zip and it was done. As part of our remodeling initiative we needed a new medicine cabinet, shower light, and some high powered light bulbs for the living room lamps. We were very impressed by the quantity and selection they had on the shelves and we ended up getting everything we wanted. Home Depots are not all alike, We've previously visited their locations in West Hartford, Bloomfield, Torrington, and Southington. And I will look you right in the eye and tell you the Glastonbury store was the very best Home Depot we've ever seen.
