(9/2023) I would give VU zero stars but it isn't an option…read more I explained my central vac didn't have adequate suction from the hose, I checked all outlets, and the main machine and changed the bag, and all seemed fine. The hose is less than 2 years old. I further explained I thought the hose was clogged as I have pets. and without the hose in the outlet, the suction seemed fine. We set up an appt., and when they didn't show I called (I think the owner) he said he was waiting for a new hose to come in. I again explained I didn't believe I needed a new hose as (it is less than 2 yrs old) and probably clogged. I made another appt. I inquired about the cost he explained the call would go toward any new parts, even though I didn't believe I would need new parts (such as a hose). He said the first hour would be $100 and it shouldn't take more than that based on my description. I should have quit at this point but they have generally good reviews therefore I made a 2nd appt. The repairman showed up with a small gadget to check the suction on the outlets which took maybe 20 min. I again said I thought the hose was clogged so he used the tiny suction tool on the hose and some of the clog came out. I asked given the length of the hose (40ft) how could he ensure the clog wasn't in the middle and what he would do to see where the clog was. Ignoring my question, he went out to his car to talk to his boss, on my dime. When he came back in he went back to repeat the initial sequence of tests, a total waste of my time and money. When the initial hour was about to pass, I said something but he said he had to do it this way and went outside to call his boss again, by the time he made his 2 phone calls, and repeated all the same steps twice even though he knew at this point it was a clog in the hose the bill was $217.70. It worked a little better for 48 hours and then stopped working again as clearly the problem wasn't resolved. I promised I would never use this place again, after getting ripped off, and trying to sell me a new hose I didn't need, drawing out the diagnosis with the wrong tool, and then not completing the removal of the clog. I certainly wasn't going to incur additional costs. I didn't want to even engage I was so aggrevated. Therefore I spread out the hose (all 40 Ft) and with the advice learned from GOOGLE and YouTube, my son and I unclogged the hose with a snake and figured out exactly where the clog was located, as suspected in the middle of the 40 ft hose. It works great now. No thanks to Vacuums Unlimited. They are NOT honest brokers and use deceptive practices. I do not recommend this place to anyone!

At least one major appliance cost more than it's "big chain" competition, but I try to do business with smaller shops like Quimby's. The appliances so far are mostly satisfactory. When I had a problem with one, however, the owner did not follow up when requested and instead I was treated very poorly over a simple misunderstanding related to delivery. I do not deserve to be spoken to so rudely and disrespectfully for any reason - especially at these prices.

That thing was not easy when you encounter first time, I called them the service, Bob came in same day, he fixed for me, I paid because, the time was just passed the warranty period. The second time was happened just couple of days ago. This time was not the door issue but about the drain pump which is not working. I called them, and they scheduled me next day, then they ordered the pump and fixed the next day, it costs me about two hundreds which include the cost of service and the pump. I called the other service center for the repair, when I was waiting. They said, they will charge me $99.00 even though there is no repair. So very disappointed! This was a multi-month long granite countertop purchase and installation…read moreprocess. Paid downpayment on 8/3. Template made 10/3. Install on 10/13 (one day late). I am attaching photos. I was excited when a man about 70ish came to do the initial measurements. I had no doubt he was a master craftsman and was thrilled. But the template was made by, I think his son. He aslo did the install. His sister called the night before he was supposed to be installing, that he was sick so it was installed a day later than agreed upon which messed up a plumber. I inspected the job before I cut the check. Only because I mentioned these problems did he confess to them. He would have left without pointing them out. I paid the full price which makes me incredibly gullible. You can see the gap of over an inch from the granite to the west side wall. You can also see where they cut into a wooden chair rail too far on the edge of the eastern side. The heartbreaker was that the puppy didn't match the grain on the two opposing ends. The center piece (sink) was laid east to west but the two side counters were cut north to south. I expected the grain to be in one direction as we bought a huge slab. The edge of the east block to the north/south block isn't flush. It was a poor job that I waited for since August (July if you count our going to the stoneyard in Windsor). I've wanted a granite countertop my whole adult life and was in tears after they left because it cost a fortune and wasn't done well. It was a poor job that cost a fortune and took months. I CANNOT RECOMMEND as the son is more an apprentice who should learn more from his elder/master before being given his own install.

He's not licensed with CT Consumer Protection and is only a tradename. I'm out money with no working stove burner. WIll have to call another service to do job he said he would do but blew me off.
