I do not recommend Denera Mcknight who is one of the owners at JaeRoch Construction and owns Rockwood Design Group (which now appears to be closed), due to a defective installation job they did in my home, as well as various representations and failure of the company to comply with state law.
In February 2024, I hired Denera McKnight and Rockwood Design Group/JaeRoch Construction to replace my kitchen countertops. Within a week of installation, discoloration started appearing along the edges, especially near the stove. The discoloration has spread to every cut edge.
In August, Rockwood Design Group was contacted to show the issues the countertop was having. After months of delays, in November 2024, the fabricator that Rockwood Design Group subcontracted to and the manufacturer both came to my home and inspected the problem. The manufacturer told me that it appeared the issue was caused by the fabricator using the wrong sealant. The fabricator attempted a fix that day that failed. After more delays, in June 2025, Rockwood's fabricator returned to my home and attempted another fix that also failed. Again, the manufacturer explained the issue was caused by the fabricator using the wrong sealer. Rockwood submitted a warranty claim to the manufacturer and the manufacturer denied the claim because natural stone (quartzite) is not covered by the warranty. Rockwood later admitted they had never disclosed to me that the stone they were using did not have certain warranty protection.
When I inquired about insurance coverage, I discovered after researching, that Rockwood Design Group is not an active licensed contractor in Washington State and has no insurance or bond. I also discovered that Rockwood failed to comply with WA State law, which requires a contractor to provide customers with a disclosure statement prior to commencing work.
I paid over $15,000 trusting I was working with a licensed, insured professional, only to be left with countertops that are incorrectly installed and permanently discolored. If you are looking for a contractor, seek out a licensed, bonded, and ethical business as Rockwood Design Group does not meet any of these standards. read more
