These guys did extensive repairs on three bathrooms and the family room after we had water damage. Most of the guys he had working for them had no idea what they were doing. The downstairs bathroom was never given a second coat of paint and the floor wasn't leveled so the flooring is now breaking up. Shower door won't stay close. The vanity they recommended I get from someone they knew has unpainted spot. They also got a stone top for the vanity from the same friend and it now turning yellow. The plumbing in all the bathrooms was done by one of their workers, not a plumber and is so jerry rigged that I'm just waiting for it to fail. In the family room the track lighting is falling off because it wasn't installed properly. After they installed the flooring in the family room they dragged a piano across it and scratched the floor. After some arguing they did replace the flooring. Over all I was very disappointed and their work is not holding up. Stay away! read more

You always want to go with a contractor that you have a good feeling about and Jose was that for us! He was super knowledgeable on opening a wall between our main living spaces. He took the time to explore all his options and explain the work that needed to be done. He even came out a second time to walk us through his quote. Never once did it feel like a sales pitch which wasn't the case with other contractors. During the project he sent pictures and called me to recap the day. JT remodeling have done quality work in converting our garage into our kids' bedrooms. Jose was able to produce what we wanted including windows installation for each bedroom with windows being below ground level. It's very impressive how it was done as it requires digging below ground level and cutting through conrete wall to install the windows which most contractors aren't able to do. It was also easy communication with Jose and he was very transparent with the repair and additional cost. He also gave pretty decent price for the entire project. I had originally got in contact with J&T last year when I had thoughts about opening up some space under my staircase for storage. I ended up shelving the project and picked it up a year later. I reached out to a few companies and J&T offered the best price for what I felt was the most complete service. Jose came by to take a look again and provided a new estimate based on what we had scoped out a year previous, as well as some new ideas. Within a month we started the project. It took a little over a week to finish the job. J&T removed part of an interior wall, redid the sheetrock, matched the baseboards, repainted painted the entire first floor hallway so that the color would match the section we worked on, and finally installed new flooring in my new under-stair storage space. They also patched the holes that were left behind by a previous electrical project. The workers were very careful with my furniture. Prior to starting the project the floors were covered and protected, doors were covered in plastic to keep dust from blowing into other rooms, and furniture was all covered in more plastic. Every night they wrapped up the day's work by clearing the work area and vacuuming the floors. On a side note, midway through the project, we discovered that the structure of the house prevents the electrical work we had planned. Jose quickly told me that he would update the cost of the project and revise it down to reflect the smaller scope of the project. Overall I had an excellent experience with J&T. read more

Disappointing experience with the evaluation and bidding process. I did not hire this contractor. I contacted them through Yelp on 2/1/21 and set up a home visit to evaluate the project. First available appointment was 2/10/21. Had a positive interaction with the guy who came to my house and the plan was for them to provide a quote for the work. After a week I followed up on the status of the quote. they said they needed another week. Waited a 2nd week and had no communication so I followed up and received no response to my message. it's been 3 1/2 weeks since the site visit and I haven't received a quote or follow up communication. Jose remodeled our bathroom and he and his team did a really nice job. They are very friendly and professional and care about the quality of the work. We felt comfortable with them working in our home. Jose shared good ideas about different things we could do, each with increasing levels of complexity and cost, which he shared with us. We eventually decided on what made us comfortable and Jose was good at communicating any issues or problems that came up (as they always do with a remodel). Jose is not going to make all the decisions about what products to buy and so you'll need to spend some time determining what you want and shopping for products. He provides the basic materials but expected us to shop for and purchase the faucets, showerhead, bathtub, etc. This is not included in the quote so be prepared to spend more than what he is charging. This is really easy to do online and have shipped to your home, but be prepared to get involved a bit. Anything Jose's crew did that I felt needed some extra attention or improvements in quality was redone without incident or complaint. They really want to make the customer happy and take pride in what they do. We asked them to do some extra things along the way (like paint our bedroom and install ceiling speakers) and they got it done at a fair price. The only complaint I had about the project was the amount of dust and debris that was created when they were cutting tile and wood in our garage and front yard. But this seems pretty standard, or so I assume. When I asked them to do a better job cleaning up their work area they always complied. I would happily hire them to do work for us again. This is the second time we have worked with J&T Remodeling. Once again, we're very happy with the results. They did a full bathroom remodel for us, including new tub, shower, floor and wall tile, toilet, and vanity with sink. Called J&T based off the glowing reviews on Yelp. I was really excited since Jose seemed professional during our first (and what would be our only) phone call. We set a date and I cleared my plans to accommodate the window of time he'd be able to come out. He said he would call ahead of time in case he wouldn't be able to make it. Fast forward to our appointment. He was an hour late, so I called to make sure he had the correct address and that I had the right date and time. Wasn't surprised to get voice mail so I left a message. After 2 hours, I called again... no answer. Figured something had come up (we're all human) so I shrugged it off, expecting him to call me back within the next couple of days. Well, it's been a month now and still no follow up. I only get his voice mail when I call, so I guess he has no interest in doing business with me. That's okay. Jose and his crew have worked on two separate projects: rebuilding/waterproofing a deck with rooftop decking material (over a garage) and installing multiple large picture and bay windows for $5 to $10,000 less than his competitors. The deck was a big project over a couple of weeks. When issues came up,  our house is over 50yrs old, they problem solved instantly and it rarely was an overage in cost. They were big issues, like no header underneath in the garage. Windows we knew would be a bit difficult because of water damage.  We had no idea we would need to rebuild a wall due to wood rot.  Again,  Jose and his crew came through and finished within 3 days. Often within 15 minutes or less. 2) He was the first to respond to my request for a bid. 3) Took time to truly understand the project. 4) Provided a bid in a reasonable amount of time. 5) Gave us tips to improve the project and save us money. 6) On the rare occasion an issue came up, they took care of it. 7) I never got a "that wasn't in the contract" or any kind of "cost overrun" with the exception of very clear add-on's (i.e. we decided to extend our counter and add cabinets beyond what was in the original design/bid). I've used Jose twice in the last year and he's great! (And full disclosure, I've been a construction loan officer for a number of years and worked with a lot of builders.) The first time I had the Ikea vendor design a kitchen, but decided not to use their construction company. I purchased the design and the cabinets and looked for someone to install them. Jose won the bid and had good references. Once we got into the construction he pointed out where the Ikea vendor had mis-measured. With a lot of builders this is their chance to put it to you. Jose came up with a creative and functional way to make everything work, did a great job of installation, and did it all without breaking the bank. And they were the nicest guys, easy to work with, reliable, good with my neighbors and generally did a quality job. 9 months later I had a little project in my bathroom. Jose and his team did a great job. I needed to get my house ready to sell after years of wear and tear, but I wasn't ready to dive into the whole project at once. I had heard so many horror stories about bad contractors, I wanted to start small with the master bath and see how the project would turn out. Jose took the time on our first meeting to listen to what I wanted and asked questions to clarify aspects I hadn't considered. Work began on time and his team took care to protect the rest of the house from the dust/etc. Jose's tile man, Mr. Gabriel did a fabulous job. He was quiet and conscientious, thoroughly cleaning up at the end of every day. He was cordial when I would look in to see what new progress was made. He didn't even complain about resetting a floor tile when we stepped on it while it was still setting, causing it to shift. Jose took the initiative to upgrade the toilet to a brand new, low flow model because he felt it was more fitting in the newly remodeled bathroom. At first I didn't think it was necessary, but I ended up agreeing with him. I was so pleased with the way the bathroom turned out, that I went ahead and hired J & T to do the rest of the house (paint, carpet, install new stainless appliances, replace sliding glass door, siding repair, gutter repair, etc.) I really appreciated Jose's strong communication skills. He was always responsive when I would contact him by text or phone. He was great at explaining the pros and cons of various options so I could make the right decision. I have used Jose and his crew on many projects in my home! Sadly I am late writing my review. Jose saved our bathroom remodel when the contractor we hired screwed up. It turned out beautiful! He did a walk in shower ( framed, designed, the whole thing) installed our new tub, did in floor heating, lighting,tile and installed our cabinets. We had him back to help with a custom built book shelf/storage unit to frame our fireplace. Perfect. He does excellent work and stays until the job is done. I'm extremely disappointed by what they had done to my house After there month delay time and paying therm over 11 K. First of all they stole a large amount of different material that I payed for which they did not change in my house. Second, they left lots of nail pics of play wood that had mold on them in my attic, which turn out to the very large mold problem and its that you can imagine. Thirdly, they destroyed my back yard by driving a big truck on the grass, living material on the grass and dumping all the garbage outside on the grass as well. I have filed a claim, but its been 6 months since then and I'm really tired of paperwork's.
