We undertook a large-scale remodel from March to October with Emerald Isle Tile, and we couldn't be happier with the results! Though I don't usually write reviews, our experience with Andrew and Marcus was exceptional, so I need to let you know about it. After years of waiting to start this project, wanting everything to be perfect, Andrew came out and provided a remarkably detailed bid (over 25 pages). He captured all the updates we wanted and gave us a very fair estimate. As is common with remodels, our project evolved, and Andrew was flexible in updating the bid to accommodate changes we hadn't initially considered. Back in July of 2019 I solicited three bids for remodeling my bathroom shower stall. I received two responses. One was from a well known Seattle tile company and the other was from Emerald Isle Tile. Although not the cheapest bid, I selected Emerald Isle Tile because they provided a very detailed scope of work (12 pages) while the other company provided one page. The owner, Andrew, met with me multiple times to review his proposal and fine tune it to my satisfaction. I retired from a career in the design/construction/project management field and have done many residential/commercial jobs so I appreciated the fact that his proposal was so detailed. I have also self-performed three tile jobs at my homes. After multiple meetings and cost estimates we finalized the scope of work and Andrew provided a quote and the final contract. The work proceeded in May of 2022. The work was completed in April of 2023. As with most construction remodel projects, there are some issues that will typically arise. Some of the issues on my project included: plumber drilled the hole for the shower fixture in the wrong position so one tile had to be reset; tiles on the curb needed to be re-done to get the proper slope so Andrew, at no charge, returned and removed the glass door, repaired the tile and reset the shower door; the glass block installer's grout lines needed to be touched up so I performed this work; on some occasions there was lack of thorough cleaning so I needed to do some extra clean up inside and on the exterior patio. These issues were relatively minor for me and Andrew and his team stood behind their work and made the necessary corrections and also compensated me for the work I self-performed. Additionally, a small hairline crack appeared after the job was done. Andrew came back and told me he would repair it at no charge if it got worse. Overall, I'm pleased with their work. Andrew was very responsive and communicated promptly to give me status updates and to discuss solutions to the problems. He came by often to check on the work. His tilers showed up on time and worked efficiently together. I am a very picky person and quality is important to me. The tiles were applied plumb and level and looked good. I would recommend them to anybody. In fact, I will recommend them to my two neighbors who are interested in remodeling their bathrooms. read more

I cannot praise Andrew, Marucs and Veronica enough. They and their crews worked on our house for the last year plus, on and off, and were next level professional. There was nothing I would throw at them they could not make happen, and we would add things along the way up until the end. Their pricing was fair and were we always in the loop if changes in cost or timeline were happening. We did a whole upstairs update. New heated tile floors in the living room and hallway, Bathroom floors, and walls , entry way, and office. And lastly, our favorite, a brand new kitchen. We had many years to plan the kitchen design, and only needed a few tweaks that they mentioned, which were more for longevity of the space. We live in the kitchen, not only because we love to cook, but it is such an amazing space, it is cozy and happy. We highly recommend Emerald Isle Tile and Construction. We have one room left in our home to be done, and they will be the only people I trust to do it. We told our neighbors about them and they are talking to them now. I have mixed feelings about this place, that could easily be improved. First of all, we love the shower we have as a result of working with Emerald Isle Tile. That is thanks to working with the owner and two of his employees Greg and Stacey (if you can, request to work with Greg and Stacey - they're above and beyond great!). My beef is with one of the managers that works at Emerald Isle, rhymes with Schmryan. He was unresponsive, constantly got the plans at our house mixed up with other houses; he was rude; condescending, and an overall pain to work with. I emailed the owner as well to share my views, but got no response. If I went back to Emerald Isle Tile for another job, I would specify to only work with the owner and Greg and Stacey, not one of his managers, who was more a pain to work with than anything. read more

Emerald Isle Tile completed my bathroom remodel with awesome professionalism. I had them install marble floors and really cool slate and glass 1 inch tiles in the bath surround. They also completed carpentry work, electrical wiring work, lighting, installed the tub and toilet, marble vanity, and completed some of the finish work. I was pleased with the results. We changed our plan a few times mid project, and this was not a problem for them. The cost was competitive- I had several bids. read more

Read this review! Do NOT hire this company! We've worked with many contractors and this outfit is the absolute worst. Again, do not hire this company! I just read through previous reviews and the one I've pasted below accurately, in fact, perfectly describes our experience with Emerald Isle. "I desperately wanted these guys to be good... At first they were responsive and attentive in setting up the contract, but ever since we signed on the dotted line, they've disappeared." Oh man, this is EXACTLY our experience. We signed our contract approx. June 21 2017. The work was completed on the 5th of September!!!!! My biggest issue was the lack of communication about delays, glitches, tile not arriving, about the tiler having his truck break down!! Comon! Emerald City did not call. No one told us whether or not their team was showing up. And it they did, it was often not when they committed to having someone come out. It was ridiculous how they treated us. Veronica is a very poor communicator and does not take responsibility for lack of communication or what is communicated. How can her employer keep her on the staff? Just bewildered. Not only does Emerald Isle Tile do beautiful tile work, they also have a great service department! They fixed my (vintage and complicated) bathroom fan. I'm also going to have the repair my grout/seal in the bathroom area, which is long overdue. While my only current experience is with the service department, my future experience will involve tile and slab work--without hesitation they will be my go-to for future projects. read more

From Andrew the owner who came out to give us an estimate immediately, to project manager Marcus who was always available for concerns and checked in on the progress often, to Greg and Jason the subcontractors who did an immaculate job tiling, to Rick the glass door guy with a perfect quality job, were all awesome and professional and greatly exceeded our expectations. Our shower is now a sanctuary and when it comes time to do our other shower we will definitely be using Emerald Isle Tile again! The job site was left very clean each day and even more so after the final day of tile work. The job took a little over a week to complete and then the shower was measured for a custom glass door that took ten more days to be made and installed. The company is growing and with Andrew's leadership and project mangers like Marcus they will be able to do more quality work for even more people faster. A+++ read more

I can't say enough about the great experience we had with this company. A friend was leaving her condo on vacation and offered it to us to stay in. We'd been waiting for the right time to remodel the one bathroom in our 20's craftsman and saw a small window of opportunity. Andrew Norris and his team at Emerald Isle Construction & Tile took our bathroom down to the studs, got rid of the 70's faux marble walls and vinyl flooring and baby blue fixtures and within the space of a week gave us back a period style bathroom, all new fixtures including a pedestal sink, beautiful subway tile tub surround and wainscoting and hexagonal tile floors with a gorgeous rosette pattern in the middle that was specially designed for the room. Now our home feels whole again thanks to this company. Since our experience, we've referred several friends to Andrew and each of them has been as pleased as we were. Can't recommend Andrew and his team highly enough. Service was fast (they fit is in the week after we decided to go with them), quality was excellent. Andrew also has a real "eye" for tile and understands the little things / details to make something work well and look good. We also found a steal on some great tile elsewhere, and while some of the other high-end tile guys on Cap Hill pooh-poohed our choice and tried to talk us into buying tile through them, Andrew sincerely admired our thriftiness and complimented our choice. Communication, so important with a contractor, was also great. Andrew went the extra mile when we had an unexpected water shut-off in our building; I'm sure it was a great inconvenience to him, but he managed to fit us in the next day. Emerald Isle isn't cheap -- they were the 2nd highest of the quotes we received -- but we think it was completely worth it. Furthermore, they were honest quotes that did a great job laying out our options. Our kitchen floor is beautiful. I'd absolutely hire them again. read more

I desperately wanted these guys to be good. We are remodeling three bathrooms as the first phase of work. At first they were responsive and attentive in setting up the contract, but ever since we signed on the dotted line, they've disappeared. We were told they would start work right after July 4th and be completed in 6-8 weeks. We were hoping to be close enough to done that we could move in to our new house by the end of this week. However, it is now 8 weeks later, and not only is the project not done. In total, I have counted 2.5 days of actual work. (we check in regularly) I understand that summer is busy and delays are par-for-the-course, but the kicker is that there is ZERO communication. The first day they claimed to be coming to start demo (3 weeks later than promised) they didn't show - and NO ONE TOLD US. We had to call to find out no one is coming. We have been on our project manager with texts and calls - no proactive communication at all. Each month we delay money we loose paying for our current housing. At this point any tiny price advantage their bid had has been completely eliminated. We can't plan our move, our fall, even work given that we have been given no communication on target date. We're still holding out hope that they execute well and that our feedback will eventually match whats written below by others, but as of right now, I really can't recommend them at all. read more

Got a call back from his assistant about a week later (after I had call and ask what happened) and apparently he got me confused with someone else. She told me I would have to wait another 2 weeks to get back on the schedule. I told her to forget it. So I'll never know if he is good or not. read more

This job was a complete master bath remodel. The old tub, vanity, toilet and flooring were removed. Then a tile shower, sliding glass door, heated tile flooring, new toilet and vanity were installed. The work performed by Emerald Isle was top notch and I could not be happier. All work was performed thoroughly and professionally. This includes everything from the tile layer to the sub contractors that performed the plumbing and electrical work. The job site was kept in good order, minimizing the impact of the rest of the house. The project manager, Marcus, kept things moving and kept me well informed throughout. The business owner, Andrew, was very personally involved, coming by at all stages of the project to ensure all was going smoothly. And all this was done for a very reasonable price. Overall, the job went very well. I reached out to Andrew who was able to schedule work for the following week, starting on Thursday and finishing the job on Friday. He called back Tuesday of that week to inform me that the current job would run a day late, causing my job to start Friday instead of Thursday. He offered to come back on Saturday to complete the work if I didn't want to wait until the following week for completion. After getting the tile glued down and set the first day, I found that there were a large cluster of similar colored stones grouped together which I thought looked unbalanced. When the installer Derek arrived to finish the next morning, I pointed out my concern, and he wasted no time doing whatever it would take to make me happy. He pulled up and redistributed 20 or 30 stones which cost him a couple of hours. Ultimately I am very happy with the result and would hire Emerald Isle Tile again without hesitation.
