Joined for lap swimming. When pool is open, it's usually almost perfect. BUT (and this is a big…read more"BUT") management of the pool schedule is bad. Hours for lap swim posted on their website are usually not correct as pool is not open when hours posted say it is. Was told by front desk people their website is not accurate and I should only use their new 'app' to check hours. So I loaded app and have used that to check pool lap swim hours. Tried to swim on weekday last week. Checked app 2 hours prior and said lap swim open 1:00-5:00 pm. Arrived at 2:10, changed and got to pool deck at 2:15 only to be told "We are closing for 30 minutes from 2:30 to 3:00 today." Today, a Sunday, at 9:00 a.m. app says pool open for lap swim from 10:00-1:00 pm. Arrived at 11:00 only to find out pool is closed due to swim team practice. they are "very sorry" for my inconvenience. This has happened 4 or 5 times in past month. Frustrating to plan my day/week, drive to the YMCA, and show up only to find out pool is not available. Seems like this is happening more and more often in past 5-6 weeks. If only we could know when pool will be available for lap swim. Seems like this should not be that hard to do. Put someone in charge of schedule and posting updates. And, once hours posted, stick to that schedule.

They offer 4 indoor tennis courts, 6 indoor pickleball courts, and 6 outdoor pickleball courts. For each of the indoor courts, they have a live camera to both view from the lobby or to record your matches if you need review or proof of winning a competitive match. Well stocked Pro Shop and Locker Rooms are at the entire which haven't seen either in many other competing centers around town! What makes Smithfield PTC special is their membership offerings for both lessons and clinics. They have a Standard membership if you are a social player or a Premium membership to allow you 6+ Reservations each month. The value of what is included in membership dues compared to what you pay is very affordable. If I were to live in Cedar Rapids full-time, I would be at Smithfield daily for their Pickleball drop-ins and recreation play. All the members I met during my stay were both friendly and inviting on and off the court. Looking forward to coming back to Cedar Rapids to visit Smithfield PTC in the near future!

This…read morepark is about a 10 - 15 drive on 94 (Blairs Ferry) from Cedar Rapids (now that Palo Marsh RD has reopened). Tent sites are generally 'walled off' from one another with patches of natural flora separating the sites, with a walking path leading the length of them. (Water spigots are also available on this center path). Each and every time has been ideal and serene. Most visitors adhere to the 'quiet time' rule (10:30 PM to 6:30 AM, I believe), so noise is generally not a concern. Washroom facilities in both the shower equipped and latrine are clean, and well stocked with toilet paper. DNR staff are both friendly, and generally 'hands off' during your stay. My most recent stay was on 10/22 through 10/23, and albeit a very cold morning, the views were breathtaking with the morning fog surrounding the park. (Image attached). I cannot speak to fishing at the park as I have not fished here, however camping is great, and I highly recommend this park.

Camp sites do not provide private water/sewer but there is a good water/sewer station on the way in. My only complaint. Thurs evening we had friends join us. The Ranger Man enforced a 2 car per campsite rule. He forced 3 over 65 couples to drive to a parking lot and I shuttled them back and forth. Really? Do us Seniors party too hard for you? Haha I understand rules but I don't have to like them...
