Francisco is by far the best landscape service in AZ. I have had deliveries from Pioneer, MDI, and AZ Rock Express, none of them have shown the kindness, punctuality, and fairness as Francisco. I sent Francisco brief, straightforward, specific details for my 16 ton project along with some other vendors. He promptly replied over the July 4th holiday. He had a good price and good turnaround time. I asked how much it would be to pile the rock in back verus the optional installation (spread) or just dumping it at the curb. I clearly mentioned there was a typcial single gate as found on most AZ homes. He offered to pile the rock in the back at the same charge. Due to his responsiveness and offer to pile the rock in back for the same cost, I moved forward. We communicated by text and email. His guy arrived and informed me he can't pile it in the back without backing in through a double gate. Francisco lied to and/or misled me. I had to send his guy away. I had already started making plans based on the commitment by Rockstar Landscape Materials. Francisco got back to me about 10-15 minutes later apologizing that he misread the email. That's a big detail to misread or not triple check. My communication about the gate was brief, clear and to the point. There was no offer to keep the business by compensating for his mistake. i.e, discount labor to spread the rock or discount on the rock for my inconvenience based on his mistake. The bare minimum apology was no help for resolving the situation. The new vendor I select will undoubtedly dump this at the curb and maybe cost more. I could have had Rockstar do this. They were right there. But Francisco's lack of apathy and any attempt to reconcile was pathetic. It's just good business to try and make things right. It will be entertaining to see whether there will be 1) A feigned attempt to respond, take ownership and salvage any form of customer service. 2) A response is posted to creatively shift the blame on the customer (hoping for that one). 3) Some pseudo review will be posted to offset my star rating and counter the points I've made. I'm betting #3 along with, "unfortunately, these things happen". Rockstar Landscape Materials wasted my time and was a big disappointment on a simple job. It's rock, not rocket science. read more

These people have no interest in protecting the windshields of others. When I called and asked for a manager some guy got on there and told me there was no way the sand in their truck could have any small rocks that could hit my windshield and that it was okay for them to not to use a cover on their trucks. However the second they got in my Lane my windshield got pelted. These people should be fined for damaging the windshields of other people. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! We hired Francisco to do a rock refresh, 75 tons, in our front and backyard. It was a $5,000. job .... he delivered, and spread the rock as well. He got paid. BUT he was suppose to come back to finish the job (because he didn't get all of the rock) and kept giving us excuses, and now does not even respond to our calls or emails. It's been 6 weeks so basically he doesn't finish the job. Too many other company's to choose from I'd skip this one unless you don't care if the job actually gets done! read more

As I made my selection of how many stars to give Francisco and his company, I am only sorry that there is not 10 stars to choose from! This company is one that you will never be sorry you called. I called Francisco from San Diego to work on my home in Phoenix and he was on the job 2 days later with 10 tons of material and an installer that truly amazed. Rockstar is not just their name or slogan, but who they really are. They arrived on time and in approx 4 hours had installed all 10 tons of gravel to our amazement and far beyond any level of satisfaction that we hoped to achieve in almost 100 degree weather. The price was as competitive or better than the competition [who by the way told me it would be a week or so] and the service was far above OUTSTANDING. I only wish they were in San Diego with me so I could use them here! And BTW, they did not ask for a penny upfront. Their pricing was the lowest I could find. They beat Pioneer Rock by almost $15 a ton. I had 13 tons of Apache Brown delivered and spread with a weed barrier laid underneath. The rock and crew were on time and worked fast. They had it spread and raked in 2 hours which is very impressive. I would use them again. read more
