There are cleaning towels and spray at the soda fountain area where they ask you to clean up after yourself and your table before you leave. My salad was okay. I wouldn't say it was amazing, but for the price, it was good! Chicken was a little overcooked and the red onions were really big chunks. Loved that they cut the cherry tomatoes in half though! I would come back and try out their other food options.

I tried the warm lobster roll with plain butter & warm snow crab roll with seasoned lemon butter. It was ok, not the best I ever had. For the amount of lobster & crab you get it's affordable. Fish was good, avocado fresh, but the rice was way way way too much. Exacuted much better with a smaller amount of rice around it all followed by the soypaper wrap. (It was about 3 " thick with rice! They had about 5 different sauces with no explanation as to how or what to put them on. Ginger was just this tiny bit, barely enough to share 2 ways. The wasabi, really no joke, was in a tear open packet like soy sauce. But no soy sauce included. I hope they pay attention to this and make changes before it's a loosening restaurant. Please taste your fish a couple times a day to be sure it taste fresh. Toss it if not up to quality.

Wow. Just wow…read more We were going to an event that was cancelled when we got there on Preston. Not wanting to waste the hour drive from Lavon, we gave this place a shot. The place was nearly empty (Thurs night on "everything is gonna flood tonight" weather). We walked in, sat down, and laughed our asses off at the snarky signs plastered literally everywhere. Some were downright brilliant observations on humanity. The menu board and menus were weird. The board just listed stuff. The menus were just pictures and names of the items, and our menus didn't match. Some items were blacked out (redacted?). There wasn't a price to be seen ANYWHERE (neither the menu board or the "random draw" menus). We ordered egg drop, hot and sour soups, fried dumplings. I ordered Szechuan beef, my wife got garlic Chicken. When the soups arrived, it was immediately obvious this was gonna be different. The bowls were ginormous for a "cup" of soup. The noodles? These weren't some wimpy little bulk fabbed in the 10 pound bag jobs, these were thick, fat, and obviously hand seasoned and very much hand made. The egg drop soup just didn't look the same as the genericrap we get at every other place we've been at for the last several years since out prior fav chinese place in farmersville went outta business during covid. This stuff had a peculiar sheen to it. I dropped a small handful of the really interesting looking noodles into the soup and hit it. Holy sheeit. This stuff was flat out, hands down the best damn egg drop soup I've ever had anywhere (and that includes NY NY, San Fran, LA, Burbank, and a ton of places in dfw. Next came the dumplings. Again something just a bit difference about the appearance of them. After the first few hits on the soup I was REALLY intrigued to see what they could do with the dumplings. Now I'm a serious dumpling snob. The best dumplings in the known universe are served by a little place called Mikes on route 9 between Ballston Spa and Saratoga Springs NY, and they've been cranking those out for over 40 years. Those have been my gold standard for the entire 40 years. I've been to dozens (hundreds?) of chinese places over those 4 decades and nobody has even came within a country mile of that place. Til now. The texture was killer. The wraps were a fair bit thicker than what passes for dumpling wraps everywhere else, and good gawd, the filling. Nailed it. Hands down. Finally after 4 decades somebody out did Mikes. These things are pure liquid sex they're so damn good. Then, the main event. We both ordered the "tik tok famous" fried rice. I hit that first, without anything else just to jive it a fair weigh in. True to form it was really good. Not quite as good as the soups, noodles or dumplings but pretty damn good. Not starchy, clumpy, or sticky. Just good. And the entrees? You could feed a small army off a single one of these. It bordered on ludicrous. Now I'm used to a particular kind of szechwan beef, (again started by mikes by maintained by a local place in Richardson) that's slightly sweet, coated and crispy. I was a bit perplexed that this stuff was neither. Uncoated, not a tinge of sweet, and a fire hit that was stout, but no overwhelmingly so. The veggie's were fresh, crisp and "just right". It's a bit of an unusual take for szechwan beef with a hint of something in the sauce i couldn't exactly place, but definitely good stuff. My wife's garlic chicken (which is not my fave at all) was surprisingly really good. The bill? Right around $50, which is a bit more than we're used to but very decent when one considers the overall epicness of the meals and the monstrous amount of leftovers we'll be grazing on for the next couple days. In the space of 15 minutes this place went from a complete unknown to our hands down, by far, take no prisoners, hold no quarter chinese place in all of DFW. As my wife said on the way out of the door, I'd rather blow an extra $10-15 and two hours in the car for this place than anything else we've had for the past 4 years.

I got a small gumbo and catfish nuggets at 6.99 each. Even though they have a sign on the door for drink specials, apparently they didn't last more than like two months because they aren't offering that anymore. So I just asked for a water cup. 15.12 and you order at the counter and get your own drink. The water button on the soda machine sticks, so prepare for it to run for like a full 45 seconds before it magically unsticks. Gumbo came out in about ten minutes, but weirdly wasn't hot. Catfish nuggets came out about ten minutes after that (weird since they are both apps) and I asked for my soup to be reheated. I tried a nugget and it was ok, but there's like zero seasoning on them. Bland as my last tinder date people. For a place that touts New Orleans in the name, there's no creole/cajun influence here. Everything was just bland, especially the gumbo. By the way, he took it to reheat and by the time he returned it (14 min later) I needed to leave. He was nice enough to give me a lid and bag though. Service was ok, but there's like one guy and when he disappeared it was for ten minutes. I don't know if he was having to cook it or what but it made service slow. I've visited three times now and feel a three is appropriate. It's fine if you aren't looking for what the name implies.
