Absolute worst "haircut' ever. Hannah did a few clips off the ends of my hair, (cut on dry hair) for a $25 cut. Instead of telling me I had to pay extra for a real cut, she butchered the front of my hair. Her shop is run down and didn't look clean. She must have paid the other people here to write good reviews. $25 in the trash and I will go to a real professional to fix what she did. read more

Im new to the area and was in need of a new stylist. No complaints as far as the cut goes -- Michelle is good and quick at what she does. I was a bit surprised though that the 'cut and style' didn't include a shampoo. Maybe I'm spoiled but i like to leave a salon feeling like my hair is better than an average day. Today my hair, while well trimmed, didn't look or feel any better than my own ordinary routine. So for the price and what I got in return, I'll probably keep looking. ***Update*** Having had a chance to live with my haircut several weeks after getting it cut here, I felt compelled to revisit my review. My hair is very long and very thick. Every stylist tells me that and I understand that it is a bit of a project for any stylist to tackle. I went into the salon with a curly hair expecting it to be shampooed and styled. Neither happened. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured they'd be able to get around that. Wrong. When I finally got around to wearing my hair strait again, i found the cut to be uneven and sloppy. I've learned my lesson and will stick with a stylist who is willing to put in the extra time and effort that my hair requires. read more

My hubby bought me a gift certificate to Rockstar Hair because he apparently thought my boring mom hair needed to be a bit more rockin'. I had a cut and color with Katie and she was AMAZING! I showed her a picture of what I thought I wanted and explained my concerns (mainly, that I needed a low-maintenance 'do) and then let her have at it. I was blown away by the results. Best cut I've had in a long time, and by far the best cut for the price! Their women's cuts are only $15!!! My hubby also had his hair cut. We had been resorting to shaving his head because he was always so disappointed when he would get his hair done at other salons. Great place to come and get your hair done. I walked in on a whim and even though they were busy they got me in right away. They place is very clean and has a fun vibe, and the employees were friendly. I wish I could remember the girls name who cut my hair (Chelsea maybe?) was so easy to talk to and she did a great job. They environment was good and the staff was friendly. But I am very spontaneous with my hair just just like to tell my hairstylist to do whatever, but my hairstylist here wouldn't she insisted I had a picture so I spent the first hour looking for a style which was kind of upsetting cause I ended up having to be there for 4 hours. Then the hairstyle I picked didn't even turn out how I wanted. Pretty disappointed will probably try somewhere else next time. read more

These people suck. I made an appointment for my daughter because my other daughter raved about them. We drove 55 minuets passing many hair salons that would have been better. They didn't have our appointment OR the wrong name. we had scheduled for 11 with Bailey or Bailee or however she spells her name. She was rude stating the minuet I said her name that we were early. And then proceeded to have an attitude stating that we were not on the schedule but she would do the quick trim anyway. She half-assed the "trim" and proceeded to discuss with a friend that stopped by she was sorry she couldn't give her a quick cut because " we didn't even have an appointment" I didn't drive all the way down there to have attitude thrown at me. And why I gave this snotty child a tip is beyond me. It is not my fault that whoever took the appointment didn't write the name down correctly or even forget to write it. Whatever the case may be. Bailee was unprofessional, rude and an attitude straight from trailer trash school. FYI looking at their prices. .by the time you add the cut. a wash and a dry/style. you are looking well over a REAL SALON's prices. I got my haircut from Michelle back in August or September and I went from long hair to a short A line haircut which I've been wanting to try for the longest time but was scared to. She was very good at easing me into it and only chopping off a little at a time to make sure I am still comfortable with the length. Got lots of compliments on the hair cut! Great value and customer service! The stylist gave me a buzz cut and a straight razor shave on the back of my neck (I've never had one before). She then washed my head and ran then clippers through my head again to make sure she got all the patches. The work was very thorough and the stylist was very friendly. I got my eyebrows waxed here and they had me sit and tilt my head back in the sink where they wash hair. Very uncomfortable for your neck and not the greatest place to wax. When I got home I discovered the lady spilled a huge thing of wax in my hair! Worst hour and a half of my life getting the wax out with oil. Will never recommend this place for waxing. Hopefully they do a better job with cutting hair. read more

I am in love with this place. They have the best ladies here and they make you feel so welcome while there. Rylee is my favorite! She has helped bring my hair back to life! So, I moved to Draper and was looking for a new Salon and a new hair color. After being told, in not so many words, by my old hair stylist that I was too old for red hair, I had ended up with mostly blonde and a bazillion different colors of highlights. It looked horrible. I admit - I only chose Rockstar Hair for the name. I needed a little energy in my hair. So, I had my first appointment with Bailee and told her I wanted red. REALLY red. Flaming RED. Instead of telling me I'm too old, she was so excited to do it. Who better to give me a young, hip, hair color than a cute, young, hip stylist? We were so excited when I was finished the color was amazing. She did an awesome style and even tried to teach me how to do curls with the flat iron. (I still can't do it, but I'm practicing.) I swear I felt a few inches taller and much more fierce with my new hair. Bailee is great - she really loves making people look good and she is so fun to chat with while I'm in the chair. She's quick, always on time and the prices are VERY reasonable. Not only did Bailee make room for me in the schedule (a customer that had never been there) she killed my cut and color! I just got done at my appointment where Michelle dyed my hair into a subtle ombre. I havent had my hair dyed professionally for two years. I have to admit, This place was a lot better than my other salon I frequent. You don't get thay awful hair dye smell when you walk in, or even when they are dyeing your hair. The staff was very friendly. Michelle was very helpful with helping me figure out the best way to do my ombre, she even looked up pictures for our reference. Days ago I scheduled an 11am appointment for today with Bailee. Well apparently Bailee had quit and they hired a Hailee but the person who scheduled my appointment didn't bother to clarify this fact. When I finally left at 11:20 am Hailee still hadn't bothered to show up. Around 11:10 I spoke to Danielle who was also frustrated with the lack of stylist. I told her that Bailee used to call Peerless and get me a deal on a product there and she said would make an exception and call them for me because of my inconvenience. Imagine my surprise when I got to Peerless and they wanted to charge me 3x what I was expecting. They told me that Danielle had basically told them to not give me the deal and charge me regular price. When I went back to the salon she said that I hadn't made myself clear, but I know I had otherwise what would the point of her calling them have been. I understand if you aren't willing to hook me up - tell me that. Don't waste more of my time and make me look like an idiot when I get over there. I'm so unimpressed with Rockstar now and that's sad because I loved the service I received in the past from Bailee. read more

I had unexpectedly pleasant experience here!I had really long hair for over 10+ years and i wanted to do something new,,,super short hair. after researching everywhere on yelp, Spontaneously, I just decided to go in that day, called in the first thing in the morning and got an appointment in 30 mins after to come in. I was nervous to go from long hair to short. But the girl who did my hair did not rush me or rush to finish cutting my hair, instead, she took enough time to counsel what I want, even gave me an advice to make sure I feel comfortable with the hair I am getting. She also took enough time to give me advice on how to arrange with my new hair style, step by step and gave me new hair do. All that, I walked out in 40 mins. She was good and fast but I didn't feel rushed. And yes, I love my new hair style! Not gonna lie, I am super picky with Asian hair, which I found suuuuper difficult to find right hair salon who can cut/color Asian hair, must be so difficult and different so I was just gambling to come here, thinking how much risk I can take...But just happy surprises:) at the end, bill was $15....Really!?Yes, I am coming back here soon, with my friends...!!:) read more

This is the best salon by far. I have been here over 8 times and Michelle always gets it right. She spends a lot of time on my hair making sure the it is perfect and that I am happy before I leave. I also like the fun, upbeat atmosphere. These gals know all the latest styles and cuts as well as the older stuff for a more conservative person. Their prices are very reasonable -- $15 for a cut or $23 for cut, shampoo and style. You can't beat that anywhere. I used to pay $50 for a cut at a high end shop but now I am saving big bucks and getting just as great a haircut! I have absolutely NO complaints for this place. Worst costumer service I have ever experienced. Went in to have my hair lightened to a soft brown with ombré on the bottom. I am in cosmetology school myself and know the rules of hair color and lightener and I have lightened my own hair myself with no problems. My stylist clearly skipped steps and wasn't concerned about the results. I left the salon with red roots and orange ends. It was obvious I wasn't happy with it and no one had offered to help fix it or try to make a returning appointment to get the results I wanted, or even upsale a toner to me to help with the orange. I went back today asking for at least a partial refund so I could go to another salon to get my orange hair fixed. I paid $160. The first stylist that I talked to said "oh yea it's super orange" and went to get the manager for me. I even had a customer in the salon at the time come up to me and ask who had done it so they could avoid the situation I was in. It's that bad. When the manager came to talk to me I was treated with absolute disrespect. She was telling me that it was my fault and that "you're lucky it didn't fry off." I couldn't believe that the standard for her salon is that her customers are lucky if their hair doesn't fall out. I have gone to this salon previously to have my hair lightened. Everythjng was great and my hair lightened just like it should have. I was told they couldn't give me a refund and I had to go to their corporate offices. read more
