What happened when I decided to STOP the fruitless quest of finding a salon that offered REPUTABLE ETHICS with TEN STAR PLUS COLOR/CORRECTION SPECIALSTS? Well, I cast one final net. This time I cast WIDE! I entered a STATE WIDE (UTAH) search for: THE BEST SALON, THE BEST HAIR COLORISTS. THE BEST COLOR CORRECTION SPECIALISTS. THE BEST BLONDING SPECIALISTS. Every. Single. Time. The search resulted in: TALLULAH EAST COLLECTIVE in Draper. Before further investigation of TEC, and taking another leap with my fine, fragile, natural dark ash blonde hair...that had been burned, fried, abused, and currently a carnival of colored stipes of orange...I decided to study the REAL-PERSON reviews and experiences associated with this salon. With great discernment I began digging deeper to learn more about Tallulah East Collective.  I pursued reviews from: Yelp, Facebook, Tallulah East Collective on Google, and the *vagaro.com/tallulaheastdraper sites, as well as the Instagram accounts for the salon's specialists. *(Note: The TEC booking site on Vagaro offers incredibly detailed information regarding the following: complimentary offerings, new client, and return client menu options. If you are a new client, you will first need to follow the instructions to be matched with a specialist on the Tallulah East Collective website prior to booking an appointment on Vagaro.) Only after reading the MANY and STELLAR reviews about how this salon REALLY IS DIFFERENT from other salons... DIFFERENT in a GOOD WAY! I then proceeded to follow the golden path from the top of the TEC webpage to the bottom. At this juncture, I took the leap of texting the owner Jennifer Conova asking her to match my current hair situation and desired hair goals with a custom-matched specialist. BRIE AUSTIN! A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN! My appointment with Brie fulfilled the entire list of promises made for a new client experience. In my case, the signature in-depth consultation was crucial. My hair goals were only as possible as was Brie's ability to undo the carnival canvas of my hair while preserving its health in the process. Even if it was possible to create a workable canvas, could she then turn that canvas into the blonde hair of my dreams? YES! YES! and YES! Brie is a wonder wheel of all things kind, wise, and wonderful. She listened deeply and intently as together we embarked upon this color-correction journey. She studied and calculated what was before her and how to map out my hair-goal destination. Her calculations were both chemically and creatively based as we began our journey. The end of my first journey with Brie resulted with my having glorious, bright blonde with perfectly painted low-lights matching my natural color. She customized a toner to blend all the highs and lows in perfect harmony. While this was the end of my FIRST journey with BRIE AUSTIN, it will NOT be the LAST! I had my hair colored by Emily Park at the Draper location.  The vibe in Tallulah East is Ahhhhhh-mazing!!!  The salon is chic with clean lines, modern colors, and tasteful decor.  The stylists have separated areas, which made me feel extremely comfortable.  The entire salon was spotlessly clean, and not at all cluttered. But the very first thing that impressed me about TE was well before I ever walked into the room.  For years I have been wanting to do a specific color in my hair.  I've gone to four different stylists and spent hundreds of dollars and countless hours.  Every time I was told that my goals could be accomplished, and every time my hair ended up looking nothing like the photos I had for my hair goals.  I was feeling like I was unrealistic and that I wouldn't ever find someone who could give me the look I wanted.  My hair results have always been pretty, but it has never come out the color I wanted. I sent a message through the TE website and got a reply right away from the Owner of the salon.  I sent her photos of my current hair as well as my hair goals, and asked her if there was a stylist that could do my hair that way.  She responded to let me know that there wasn't a stylist there that could do my hair that way.  As much as I was disappointed, I was so incredibly grateful that she took my time and money into consideration.  I asked her to please keep me in mind if she brought in a stylist that could do my hair.  I really only ever wanted someone to be realistic and tell me if what I wanted couldn't be done or if I was being unreasonable, rather than spend more time and money and not get the results I wanted. Well, she did!! She messaged me later and told me about Emily and said that she thought Emily would be a good fit for me.  After looking at Emily's IG, I was stoked to see her work and how she approached color. My appointment with Emily was great.  I was very comfortable the whole time.  She took her time and was very detail oriented.  I remarked during our session how much I enjoyed watching her work because I could see that she had a process and was so thorough.  Emily took the time to finish out my hair and then go back and rework certain areas that she wasn't 100% content with. My natural hair color is a medium brown.  It had been lightened, responsibly, over the course of two years.  The last time I had it done (before TE) I had the roots darkened to provide contrast, and the rest was a very pale blonde. I could NOT be happier with how my hair turned out.  It is exactly what I wanted.  It looks great, and I have already received so many compliments on it.  It is fun, and funky, and makes me feel alive!  I have heard from multiple people that my color is the hardest to achieve.  Emily meticulously breezed through the process. 10/10 Would highly recommend, and I will absolutely be going back. read more

Venue This place is stunning! This salons atmosphere is nothing like I've ever seen. Everything is so beautifully designed, organized and clean. The decorations, the colors, the lights! You can tell everything was well thought out. It's not loud or overwhelming like other salons. It's very peaceful, they turn on great music as well and it makes the experience even more enjoyable. They use R+Co and it's an amazing hair care brand! The smells of each of their products is to die for! They have so many options for different hair types, the options are pretty close to endless. The chairs are so comfortable, ESPECIALLY the wash chair! I have never been in a more comfortable chair when washing my hair and the 5 min head massage will definitely put you to sleep! I love the way they this salon educates their stylist, so they can properly educate you. You never feel stupid for asking a question and you can trust them. I truly love this salon and my amazing stylist! Sage Bronson Sage is unlike anyone I've ever met! She's such a kind soul and loves with every fiber of her being. You can see how much that shows in her work and how passionate she is about it. If you know her, you know she has the drive and dedication to grow! She's keeps up on trends coming into the season so she knows how to achieve a certain looks! Sage is amazing at talking you through the process of the appointment so you don't get lost and worry. During my appointments at previous salons I would sometimes be waiting for hours and I was thirsty or needed to stretch. Sage always offers a drink, a snack and makes sure I'm comfortable. It's nice getting to sit back without the kids and have a moment of peace every once and awhile. Sage doesn't pressure me to fill any silence and chat if I don't feel up for it, which is relieving! I love to chat but it's nice to have a stylist who can do both. Sage is just a genuine, sweet person. She's definitely a therapist in another life! You could tell her any bad experiences or feelings you're going through and she genuinely cares. I'm very grateful for hairstylists because I know even though it's not their trama, they still take it in. On top of that, giving you the best color which takes hard work! I was chosen as a hair model with one of Tallulah East's stylists, Chelsea Bastian. I loved how simple the process was to sign up to be a model. I contacted her through Instagram when she said she had an opening for a model, and we arranged the appointment through there. This appointment was a blessing for me. I had recently split with my boyfriend, and I knew that I needed to do something radical with my hair to start healing. Chelsea was very receptive to my ideas, and made sure to show me color palettes of the hair color she was thinking of doing on me, as well as pictures to make sure that the cut I was explaining matched what I wanted in my head. This was super important and special for me, because at other salons I have been to, they quickly asked what I wanted and then just started cutting. I loved that there are little snacks and drinks they offer clients during appointments, as well as the near proximity to the restroom that the salon is! I also loved that they offer wash treatments complimentary when you are at the washing bowl. The complimentary bang cuts also were a plus for me, because I need to have bangs to look cute! I have oily hair, and it is straight as well. Chelsea helped me to find the best products and cut to make my hair truly shine! I ended up getting a color treatment done, as well as a haircut. I went from medium blonde to a brown/copper. Chelsea is very skilled with the colors! I love how when I am in different lights that sometimes my hair looks brown, sometimes copper, and sometimes a mix of the two! I also did a haircut. I started with just past shoulder length hair, and I got a layered chin length bob done Finally, the best thing out of my appointment with Chelsea is that she asked me before she did the undercut! That was super cool for me. She took beautiful pictures of the finished result, and I would recommend all of my friends to go visit Chelsea at Tallulah East Collective!!! I loved this salon and my results! This was my first time doing something with my hair and I struggled finding a place to go to. I looked for so many different places but I couldn't find any that I felt comfortable with since I wanted a Calico hair. I reached out to this salon on a weekend expecting to hear back on Monday, but instead someone responded within 5 minutes! They were very kind and helpful in getting me scheduled. When I came to my appointment I expected to get sat down and started right away without the stylist taking the time to get to know my hair and my goals. Instead Kiana took her time and gave me an in depth consultation explaining the processes, results, asking about my hair history and products that I use. I have naturally curly hair and also have a history of heat damage so that fact that she pushed that the heath of my hair was the most important thing in the appointment, made me feel so comfortable and cared for! Because she wasn't just going to do anything that compromised my hair. She also recommended proteins and heat and UV protectant for after care that they sell at the salon. I was expecting each thing to be almost $100 and I was very wrong, The prices were so affordable! I asked for Calico and that is what I received! I also got a hair cut with the processes with a protein treatment and my hair felt softer at the end than it did naturally! I love this salon and will always come back! I had such an amazing experience at Tallulah East Collective in Draper with hair stylist Emma Johnson. The salon has such a cool vibe to it. I really felt like I went somewhere to treat and pamper myself. When I got there, Emma took my coat and offered a variety of beverages. I was even given snacks later on in the appointment! She gave me a personalized hair analysis, Olaplex treatment, color, gloss conditioning toner, trim, and blowout/ style! My hair was in desperate need of a trim. It was so long and my split ends were breaking super bad. We ended up cutting off more than I originally planned; however, that was a great thing because my hair looked so healthy afterwards and even still had quite a bit of length to it. My hair has been super tangly but the products she used did wonders to my hair. Emma also did a wonderful job of explaining what she was doing and what the products were so I could get some afterwards. I wanted my hair to still look natural after the appointment, just more blonde. Overall I wanted it to be lighter and that's what Emma did! She gave me a money piece to frame my face and highlights throughout my hair. It felt like my hair was brighter, but still very natural looking. I was so happy with my hair and the overall experience. I also enjoyed talking with Emma and she was willing to answer any questions I had during the duration of the hair appointment. Caroline was the absolute best of the best. I was nervous to go to a new stylist, in a new salon, in a new state. Instantly Caroline calmed my nerves and gave me a thorough consultation to make sure we both had the same goals for my hair. The salon is so cute and welcoming! Lots of natural light help you see the true colors and dimensions in your hair. I was greeted with a hug and a smile and even refreshments! I loved the small atmosphere because I instantly felt like part of the Tallulah East Collective family! Caroline used a really cool painting technique to give me the brightness and dimension of my dreams! She is so talented!!! We did color, an Olaplex treatment that my hair so desperately needed, a trim, and a gloss to finish it all up. She styled my hair and used a product that I was asking about. I ended up purchasing the product because of how incredible it felt on my hair and because I was able to see how to use it correctly. I loved that she took the time to educate me on the leave in conditioner/uv protectant! My hair consists of a LOT of fine strands. It has a mind of its own but holds color and style fairly well. For my job I have to wear my hair up a lot so I did have a reasonable amount of damage. Caroline gave me tips to help with that while also trimming the damage away without changing my shape. I wanted to have bright, dimensional, blonde with little maintenance in the near future. Not only did I get what I was hoping for, but even more. This was by far the best salon experience I've ever had! The salon itself is so cute and conveniently located on top of a coffee shop which is so awesome!! My favorite part about getting my hair done is always the head massage the stylist gives you when they are washing your hair but in my experience, the seat and bowl have always been so uncomfortable that it was hard to fully relax and enjoy the massage. At Tallulah East though, they have a reclining chair so that your feet are propped up and your head is perfectly resting in the bowl without the neck cramp! I am obsessed! I absolutely loved my stylist, Meadow, and how when I first arrived she sat down with me and asked me multiple questions regarding my hair and what exactly I was wanting done. She really took the time to fully understand my expectations and then gave me her tips on what she thought would work best for my hair type! She also discussed what she was doing every step of the way and it just really made me feel comfortable and confident in her and I knew I would leave the salon happy! Having just moved to Utah from the south, my hair has been even more dry and brittle than ever before and the K-18 treatments and trim Meadow gave me has left my hair feeling so soft and healthy! I came in to the salon with a blonde balayage gone wrong and left feeling so refreshed and pleased with how perfect my hair turned out!! I was looking to get my hair lightened after almost 2 years of not doing anything to it. My hair was turning a little brassy due to my natural red undertones in my brown hair. My hair is fine, but there's a lot of it. I've spent the past 2 years really just focusing on having healthy, long hair. I always get nervous with lightening my hair, but Tallulah East is widely known for their quality when it comes to blonde. I went to Madelyn Carr for my service where she added a a ton of foils to lighten my hair. She was very meticulous with checking on all the different sections of my hair as the color was processing. This is no easy feat as I have a lot of hair! Madelyn is a rockstar! I asked for minimal, long face frames and my stylist was able to do that perfectly. She also gave me a 1 inch trim to get rid of some dead ends, which I needed. Madelyn also toned my hair slightly cooler, which I love! I think the cooler tone made my hair blend even better. Due to the volume of my hair, it normally takes a few hours to do a full service, but Madelyn took her time to fully style my hair after. She is the best! What I left with is exactly what I asked for, and honestly it's even better than the reference pictures I brought with me! So happy with the results! I will continue to trust Madelyn with my hair! OH MY GOSH! I've never had such an amazing experience at a hair salon before this! Never again will I go anywhere else. Immediately when I walked in it was such a welcoming environment! I think with it being a smaller space it made it way more personal! Emma took me to the chair, looked at my hair, and asked me a bunch of question to find the perfect shade I wanted. She asked me from the products I use even to what stores I usually shop at to make sure my hair even matches my personality! Overall it was such an amazing experience with Emma. For my hair, I got a small cut and a color. I also got a consultation because it was my first appointment; I also got an Olaplex repair treatment. I really like Emma because of how particular she was with my hair ! Very detail oriented, and you need to be as a stylist! My hair type is kind of thick and straight. So lots of hair to deal with. Before I came, I had a recent dye, but it was terrible. The toner had already faded out and the bleach job was patchy. Emma fixed it to make sure it blended perfectly! My entire appointment took almost 5 hours, but Emma was so easy going it didn't even seem like I was there very long! I showed Emma two pictures for inspiration, and I said I wanted something in between the two. She did just that! Wow! What a great experience and saloon! The other day I got my hair done by Emma! Emma was so warm cheerful and welcoming. We started my appointment by having a full consultation on the current state of my hair, my goal of that appointment, and my over arching end hair goal. Emma was great at asking the questions needed to help me even realize what I wanted. In the end, for my appointment that day we decided to do a natural looking dimensional brunette! I'll start by saying how cute the saloon was! While somewhat small, very modern and decorated beautifully and the most comfortable chairs! Definitely important when you sit for hours getting your hair done! Emma was very skilled in foiling and experienced in doing hair! We had great conversations throughout the process! Then it was time to wash! This is by far my favorite part of getting my hair done and let me say, this didn't disappoint! The wash bowl has the most comfortable recliner chair and the bowl has a head rest! Between the chair and the head massage Emma gave me, I just about fell asleep! Great great experience! 10/10!! This was my first experience at Tullulah East and I am more than satisfied! The salon was clean & sanitized and made it clear that their clients safety and well-being was their top priority. The salon itself is very bright and airy and made the excitement of getting my hair done even better. Hallie made all of my hair dreams come true! I have very fine hair and have never been able to grow it past my shoulders, and have been looking at getting extensions. I got sew in extensions for the first time with some tape ins on the side to frame my face and I don't know if I'll ever go back! I went in for a free consultation beforehand and got color matched. Hallie also made sure we could determine what the perfect fit and method for my hair would be. The day of the appointment Hallie took her time to explain the process as well as answer any questions I had about care and maintenance. She toned the original color I had in my hair and achieved the rooty blonde look so the maintenance with my extensions will be easier to manage. The location is conveniently located above my favorite coffee place! The place looks so chic, super clean and I felt like I'm a celebrity! Products are displayed neatly but not overwhelming the place. Special mention to the lounge shampoo backwash unit was so comfortable that I almost fell asleep. Usually this is the part that I don't look forward to as my experience in the past was always uncomfortable but this was not the case, totally one of the highlight of my appointment Sage Bronson I absolutely adore this girl! At her young age she shows pride and professionalism in her work ethics. Communication is on point! We discussed the hair colors I want based on the pictures I sent her. She gave her honest opinion and I totally agreed as it was my first choice too! She made me feel at ease and she's absolutely easy to have a conversation! Sage was so patient and clearly showed how much she enjoyed what she's doing as I thought the hair color process was intricate and requires a lot of time. She did highlights, roots and toning! The result was magical! My hair color is pitch black and to get to exactly the picture I showed her leaves me speechless! Tallulah East Collective My first impression of the salon was "wow this place boujee af". The salon was very fancy and had a beautiful modern design. I really loved the sectioned off rooms, so that I was able to have lots of privacy throughout my appointment. Everyone I met was super kind and helpful, overall a wonderful experience. I can't wait to come back next month My stylist was Emily Park. Emily was so bubbly and fun to talk to throughout my entire appointment. I had such a great time getting serviced by her she is the absolute sweetest She did my hair EXACTLY like my inspo photo, I am completely in love with how my hair turned out! I was slightly nervous because I have previously used box dye, (even black) and bleach on my hair at home, but was SO happy and surprised that Emily was able to get my hair lightened to the right shade at my first appointment. Due to the previous stuff I had done to my hair it had some breakage and felt dry, but the time she was done my hair felt and looked SO much healthier. Needless to say I am absolutely obsessed. I already booked my next appointment with her next month, she is absolutely amazing if you're wanting a more unique color and style. I recently visited Tallulah East for a color and cut by Emily Park. Emily was the absolute best stylist I've ever had--and I don't say that lightly. I came in with very faded dyed copper/orange hair that was super long and damaged. I left with the most beautiful color I could have imagined, a lavender root blended down into a hot pink middle/tips. This is easily the most beautiful color AND cut I've ever had. She did a blunt cut and chopped quite a few inches off, and it looks healthy and fabulous. I couldn't be happier with the entire look and process. My hair is very fine and had a lot of copper left in it from the last dye. Emily worked with me to make a plan for my hair, give me a ton of amazing hair care info and product tips, and really get to know what my hair goals were and help me accomplish them. She is incredibly personable and friendly and made the whole experience so relaxing and pleasant. I've struggled very hard in the past time find someone I trust to do pastels and vivids on my hair, and I can confidently say Emily is by far the best and I could not recommend her enough!!! The salon itself is trendy, private, and very clean. The layout of the salon gives it a private feel and luxury experience, since you can't really see anyone else from your chair. I had such a wonderful experience with Maddie at Tallulah East Collective in Draper! The salon is extremely accommodating and offers a great atmosphere with a more private setting to ensure that, you as a client, are given a great hair experience. As for Maddie, not only does she make you feel heard in regard to your hair goals, but she includes you on her process. At the very start of the appointment, we sat down together to review my inspiration photos, and she addressed different techniques that she could utilize to get me to my desired overall look. She is extremely meticulous with her work and works hard to ensure that you, as a client, are extremely happy with your end result! I have very thick hair, naturally and had a balayage when I came in that I felt like was all one color. I, ultimately, wanted to see more dimension, so Maddie did a custom dimensional color tinting to get my hair back to its natural color and left lighter pieces to allow for the dimension that I wanted to see. We also did an olaplaex treatment and a trim! At the end of the appointment, Maddie made sure to educate me on the importance of a color safe shampoo to encourage my color to last for as long as it can. The Tallulah East salon has such a beautiful atmosphere with amazing staff. As soon as I walked in, Emma Johnson, my stylist, was so kind and took my coat and offered snacks and drinks. The salon is so professional and clean and has a very modern vibe. Emma took the time to go over my hair history and treatment goals. The stylists at the salon work hard to make sure to get you on track to achieve your dream hair, and they even spend time asking detailed questions to get a good idea of how to make your dream hair happen. My treatment with Emma (who was so darling and fun) included blending my natural dirty blonde hair color with my months' worth of outgrown bright blonde. I also got a haircut and highlights around my face. Normally my hair is thin, blonde, dry, and brittle, but after my treatment my ends felt amazing and look so much healthier. I asked to keep my natural color but add in some highlights that would be low maintenance. I also wanted a money piece around my face. She did a phenomenal job blending my hair and I left with the perfect blend for me of dirty blonde with highlights. Emma was awesome in helping me to feel confident in my hair again. The salon was very clean and tidy, pretty view out the window. Really liked the chair at the sink station, much more comfortable than other places! Location right above a coffee shop def has me wanting to try a coffee and snack next time. I saw Kianna for a cut and balayage. My home does not have a water softener and I'm really struggling with finding the right products and routine to deal with this. I also have thick hair and lots of it, some is even coarse and wiry. I have an approx 60% undercut and still have a thicker ponytail than many! So this was a challenge and Kianna definitely met and succeeded my expectations. She was able to do a hard water treatment and used a protein shampoo and conditioner as well as a lightweight leave in conditioner (which I ended up purchasing). I greatly appreciated the amount of time that went into our consultation and the frequent check ins and request for feedback. I felt like we were working together and as someone who knows a fair bit about color it was nice to hear the formulation and thought process behind it. I wanted a subtle balayage, warmer tones but not overly copper or red and I truly feel that it what I received.
