Jen was very nice and did a fair job on my hair and makeup. The reasons for 3 stars (honestly would've given 3.5 if it let me): 1. The colors used for my eyeshadow I didn't love. I tend to like chestnut browns and gold with a cut crease when getting my makeup professionally, but she didn't do a cut crease and she used a dark grey eyeshadow for the corner of my eyes. Not the most flattering combo and I had to ask her to add some gold to brighten up my eyes a bit 2. She was about 15-20 mins getting started on my hair and makeup, and was also late for her next. Appointment as a result. I think communicating ahead of time that you're running behind would have been appreciated. 3. When she started styling my hair she said she wanted to do large Hollywood curls... these were basic curls. Looked nice but wasn't the vision she pitched. You can see it didn't turn out bad, but definitely not a very high end place but charges decently high prices in my opinion. read more

This chick blow out salon also offers color and otehr services. My daughter and I tried it out as a treat for ourselves at Christmas. The staff was super friendly and we had the entire salon to ourselves. The salon did follow Covid protocals. Our shampoo and style came out great and we really enjoyed our bonding time. Price wise it was a bit pricer than some other blow out bars. Gave it a 4 star for this reason. I got my hair and makeup done here for my wedding and it turned out amazing! My stylist was Emily B. and she was very efficient with booking, directing me on how to find the salon because Apple Maps took me to an empty building, and she did wonders for me. I was really nervous because I didn't have a test run with her prior to my wedding day, but she did everything exactly like I wanted. I got an updo, and the updo stayed perfectly all night throughout my wedding. She also adjusted my hair to be in tune with my headpiece. I wanted simple, natural looking makeup and I couldn't have been more happier. She knew exactly what she was doing, and how to highlight features. It turned out so nice, and wasn't thick or cakey! I hate to give such a bad review, as the person who did my hair and makeup (Cassie) is the owner, but I really don't want this to go unnoticed. I made an appointment to do a trial hair and makeup run for my wedding and I was getting bridals done the same day. Things started off just ok.... she asked me for pictures of my hair and makeup that I wanted, and I told her that I filled out the form online so she should have all the information she needed already. She seemed a little irritated that I didn't just pull it up on my phone and she had to go print it off (shouldn't it have already been printed for me?). She gets started and asked if I wanted it washed or if she could just spray my hair with water (I feel like a blow dry bar should always just wash hair). I'm a little bit passive so I just told her she could spray it since she didn't seem like she felt like washing it. She took a very long time on my hair and was really struggling to get it right. I kept trying to make conversation with her but she was really short with me the whole time. She told me my hair was really damaged and that I need to get it cut an deep conditioned. Kind of rude to say so bluntly but fine. The hair she did looked nothing like the picture, and it was heavy and painful. She then did my makeup, and had me pose for a picture so they could save it for the day of the wedding. The makeup looked good in the nice lighting of the salon, but once I got outside, I found that my eyelash was already falling off, my imperfections were showing through the foundation, and the eyeshadow had started crusting and flaking off my lids, and my hair was already losing it's curls. It took so long I didn't have time to go back in and have her fix it, and with her snooty demeanor I didn't want to even bother. I rushed over to my house and fixed what I could in time to meet with my photographer. After that bad experience, I went to their social medias to see if I was the only person who has had such a bad experience, and I found a picture of "me"that was photoshopped to almost unrecognizable!! They never ever asked me if it was ok to post my photo on social media, and I can't believe they had the nerve to post a picture that was not even close to a reflection of the work they did. What I would really like to do is get my money back, but knowing she is the owner and her attitude, I'm sure it won't happen. I DO NOT recommend this place. Maybe it was just my stylist, but I wouldn't risk it. read more

The wash was great. The finished product of my blow out is terrible. I can't believe I just spent $40 on it. My hair is over 6" past my shoulders but she used a 1.5" round brush. My hair is just as frizzy as it was when I walked in. I warned her that the front of my hair has a mind of its own but she brushed it off saying whatever it did she could fix it with the flat iron. Guess what? She couldn't fix it. I mentioned it and she said she'd spray it down. I walked out with it flying everywhere. My 10 year old niece could have done a better job honestly. Maybe if the stylist wasn't the TV playing How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, she might actually been focusing on my hair and given me a decent blow out. Horrible experience and now I have to go home and redo my hair myself for my Christmas parties this weekend. Don't go to Victoria A. My hair barely even looks styled. read more

And they did not disappoint! For my Bridals, I originally asked for an updo, and at the last minute changed my mind and wanted it down. Cassie was quick to adjust and my hair ended up looking just as I wanted! As for make up, I have very little experience with it in general, so I really didn't know exactly how to describe what I was looking for. I really appreciate that the owner took her time to reply to my review. I am also grateful that she waited for extra 10 min to help me to fit my veils. My friend who arrived later was using his phone to find direction and tried to find your location as soon as possible. I took his suggestion for the hair style because he was the designer of the dress. One thing I would also like to mentioned was that I particularly requested some when I made my appointment- at the time I didn't know what my dress would look like hence was thinking that instead of doing a hair trial, having more time on the day to allow potential changes might be helpful. I think what made me unsatisfied was the attitude. I recalled some of the talks were somewhat stressful. The communication caught me unguarded at the time. If the community were handled differently I would have been fine with the situation. I came in with a hair style in my mind but at the end I really thought some changes would made the hair matched the dress better. My hair was an updo and I asked if possible to let the hair down and kept the curls. That was why I requested some more time caz I thought it was manageable and possible. I acknowledge that asking for extra time was not the fairest at the moment so I didn't force anything at the site. I remembered the stylist mentioned that she had to go pick up her kid and I understood her priory. I think for the future bride who would like to check out this business, maybe ensure if it were possible to book out longer time of service for the big day in case anything changes. read more

I've been going to Styld' for a few months and have struggled with my hair feeling greasy and grimy from the Utah weather and hard water I use. I come to the blow dry bar for a good condition and cute style for my work week. I love this place and highly recommend to request Syd as your stylist. I am not someone who reviews often, but this warrants one. I'll start off with saying the only reason to get an extra star is because the location is super convenient, otherwise I'd be at 1 star. I booked a blowout with Jen thru their online portal. She texted me about an hour before my appointment to ask if I could come 30 minutes later. I told her no problem and then texted her back and said that I live super close so if she is going to be ready for me earlier or later than the new time to let me know. With no new text from her I headed over and entered into a little studio salon with 2 other girls that had clients. Jen wasn't there so they directed me to the chair to wait for her. About 10 minutes into my wait I texted her that I was there. 5 min later she text back saying she was "pulling in". Another 10 minutes later and she still isn't there (now 25 minutes into my wait) I sent her a text and told her that I had to leave by a certain time and I was fairly sure that even if she walked in at that moment it wouldn't give her time to get a blow out done. (I had allotted an hour and 15 to get my hair done). After waiting 30 minutes I finally just got up and left. She text me and told me she was on a phone call about her apartment and apologized. My issue is the total disrespect of my time. She offered a free blowout later. I couldn't get past how rude it is to not just send a courtesy text or cancel so I don't waste my time, I'm a pretty flexible person, but don't leave me sitting in a chair for a half hour after you already pushed my appointment out another half hour. I wouldn't go back to her even if it was free. I would potentially go to another stylist. read more

I am giving this spot 5 stars for one big reason - Lisette! I have come here many times, had a few good blowouts but Lisette's blowouts are GREAT! I love that they carry Kevin Murphy products, have great hours (even in times of COVID-19) and not a bad environment in whole. It's always stressful to get ready for an event and STYLD' takes a lot of the pressure away. My stylist Teresa styled my hair EXACTLY like the Pinterest photo I showed her (amazing!) but more importantly she and the other stylists made us all feel important and taken care of. I called to make an appointment a couple of weeks ahead and they accommodated my schedule and came in early. It is the most comfortable and welcoming both literally (love the chairs!) and figuratively (all the people are so great and the place is inviting) Every stylist I've used has given me great results. I have a go to style or sometimes I mix it up and I always love it! They listen to what you want, can offer suggestions and always make sure you love the results! This is by far my favorite place to get a blow out. I have thick, frizz prone hair and I'm not great at styling it myself. When I just can't with my hair, I book an appointment here. I always walk out with sleek, frizz free hair and usually it's in 45 minutes or less. I have been to quite a few different stylists at STYLD since I often book at the last minute and go with whoever is available. All of them have been awesome but my top favorites are Cassie and Mardi. Another thing I really appreciate is how the salon is managed. It's always clean, open on Sunday's, offers online booking and they stay on schedule so you rarely have to wait. Plus they use Kevin Murphy hair products which I love. Definitely the best blow dry bar that I have been to in the SLC area! read more

However, I added lashes to my makeup for extra $15 dollars, they didn't even last an hour. They were not glued correctly and were coming off in the corners before I arrived at the office. I brought my 12yr old to this salon to get her hair blown out. The owner was her stylist. The owners shirt was extremely low cut to the point her cleavage was fully exposed with parts of her bra showing. I asked her kindly to pull up her shirt while she style my daughters hair. She refused to pull up her shirt & told me that a stranger shouldn't come into her salon & tell her how to dress. To make a long story short I requested other stylist & they were appropriate & did a great job on my daughters hair but The disrespect displayed by the owner was extremely disappointing. I would argue saying this salon is kid friendly when the owner is present. Cassie - the reply is kind but the experience we had at your salon was wrong. Your behavior & attire were both inexcusable as a owner of a business. I've never been treated that way by management let alone an Owner & in front of my daughter... it was appalling. Julie- I appreciate your input but you were not there at the time & your response is a perfect example of my experience as mentioned above. So you are aware, Cassie walked to the back of the salon & I followed her. I privately asked her kindly to pull up her blouse while styling my 12yr olds hair hence while my daughter sits in the chair Cassie's breast would be fully exposed in my daughters face. That is not body shaming. Cassie told me " a stranger shouldn't come into her salon & tell her how to dress" I understood her stance & I asked if another stylist could help us. Cassie agreed but walked away from me, went straight to my daughter & proceeded to style her hair though we had already agreed together another stylist would start & complete. At the time I told her we would wait for the other stylist. No scene but I did make a point to stand up for my child not being subjected to Cassie's fully exposed breast. For you to dismiss that this was a 12 yr old young lady in your shop & for you to think it's okay to expose your breast in a child's face is disgusting, frustrating & I will be taking this to the BBB. Please note that Before we left styld that day I requested to be released from my monthly subscription.
