Hot damn! I told myself last night after a not so healthy dinner/dessert, "no donuts for me tomorrow morning, no donuts ...". I didn't listen and woke up thinking "I'm going to get us some doughnuts and try this place out"! Well needless to say, I have no regrets with that decision. Of course after reading the reviews and downing many a donut in the midwest, I had to try this place! My mind and stomach told me to order everything because I wanted to try everything but I had to be strategic as I'm not about to drop $100 on doughnuts. Yes it's possible to do that here. I ordered two of their sandwiches - one was a sausage on a Croissant and the other was a biscuit but with Ham. The winner was definitely the Croissant with the Sausage as we felt the biscuit was a bit too soft and would've been amazing with a more firm texture as the biscuit falls apart when you take a bite. That ham was amazing though and the cheese they use was on point! Now for the Donuts, I did 6 and so far so good! The ones that stand out are the Apple Fritter for sure, their Glazed and their Simosa donut. We only had a few bites of each as we were stuffed from the sandwiches but I'm sure we'll dig in later in the afternoon. As you can see by the pictures, not too many donuts were left @ 9:30am as it's a first come first serve deal. The store is decorated with donut oriented items and gives the feel of a throwback donut shop from the 50's/60's. I saw they served coffee but wasn't sure what the brand was. They also had a cooler for other beverages like water, milk, etc. My only negative on this place was the workers were not wearing masks. I feel as a business, it would've been appreciated if you did. Since I've been here and been to 5 places outside of our AirBNB (these are 2 restaurants/1 grocery store/1 starbucks and 1 liquor store) this was the only place so far that their employees did not wear a mask. I was a bit surprised as we are not out of this yet and since we are not getting leadership from the top, the next best example come from businesses themselves. My friend ordered these donuts for our group and we cut them up to try different flavors. These were so fresh and pretty! The cake donuts were not dry. Yeast donuts were light and fluffy. All of them were relatively large and the base was just a tad doughy, but nothing too extreme. Peanut Butter & Jelly - This was my favorite one. The peanut butter frosting combined with the strawberry filling made for a tremendous donut. Kit Kat - This was okay. The combination of the Kit Kat pieces with the strawberry frosting did not make the greatest grouping. Banana Chocolate Chip - This was great. I never had a banana flavored donut to my knowledge, but the banana frosting went well with the chocolate chips. Bananas Foster - This tasted similar to the donut above with a glaze atop of it identical to what a traditional banana foster tastes like. Lemon Blueberry Pie - The lemon frosting combined with the blueberry atop of it was enjoyable. The blueberry jam appeared to be fresh. It almost tasted like the bagels just didn't have enough chew to them. Too soft for my taste. That's the only reason I docked a star. But surely if you stick to the donuts, you can't go wrong. I am not a big donut person but I would never pass up a Jupiter Donut! These donuts are delicious and the menu changes daily. My favorite is the cronut, a mix between a croissant and a donut. *insert Homer Simpson saying "donut" here* They do sell out quick so it is first come first serve. I always call ahead and place my order for pick up and pay over the phone. It's much faster and I'm guaranteed the donuts I want. They also have coffee which I have heard it very good but I'm not a coffee drinker. Everyone who works here are very nice and pleasant. If you'd like to close, please ensure that you outline your specific hours of closing, or lock the storefront door, or have a clear justification for closing rather than telling me doughnuts are sold out when there were 1.5 trays-worth of product still available. Mighty fine donuts. Infinitely better than Frieda's cafe and the service is better than Krispy Kreme but the flavor is not the most competitive aspect of these sweet treats. The donuts are large, which is great for bang per buck but the sweetness needs to be as big as the surface area it's covering or the donuts need to be smaller. We LOVED the cinnamon roll, it was PERFECT!Everything else was more filling than it was delicious. Okay so I work at a local vape store down the street (Viper Vape Largo, shout-out from one local independently owned store to another!! Support local businesses!), and I have never had a chance to try Rockstar Donuts yet because I'm always usually here open to close and I just have not had the chance, but one of my customers brought in an amazing maple bacon donut to me this morning and not only did it make my day but it's freaking amazing!!! I can't wait to go there myself now one morning!! My customer brought me a regular donut as well as the maple bacon and holy goodness it is seriously so amazing as well! Check this place out ASAP!
